Maybelline Alice and Olivia Lipstick in Stace Face Red is my recent purchase. And no #COVID19 can’t stop me loving my makeup, adoring my lipsticks and liners. Actually this quarantine time has given enough time to find some hidden gems in my vanity,another post is dedicated to them. I have been rearranging my wardrobe, my shoe closet, my vanity, and everything else that I see around in my house. In other words, I have been Spring Cleaning without having a time crunch. What a beautiful and productive way to spend this quarantine, when you need some ‘ME’ time.

Packaging

Packed in a black and white sturdy case, I feel in love as I saw it for the first time. The packaging looks so classy. The case is very strong yet has a smooth finish. Inside the case the bullet rests. It glides easily as you twist the bottom of the case. It is travel friendly for sure. One of the reason to pick this lipstick is it’s packaging.

I think the name of the shade is derived from the name Stacey which is quite a common name in the western world. It is a red shade but quite rich and deep. It is not bright red, rather a muted red with warm undertones. If I smudge it little bit, I can see some deep pink hues. It is suitable for all skin tones.

The shade has pink hues,so sometimes it looks a perfect red, sometimes a deep red, and sometimes, a dark pink. I can achieve different colors with this single lipstick. I can blot it, reapply it, again tone it down. So many different ways to play with this lipstick.

Texture & Pigmentation

Maybelline Alice And Olivia Lipsticks are creamy matte. They are rich in texture and hydrating on lips. Due to this texture, the lipstick could transfer in the initial hour. I blot my lips after wearing it. So the finish turns completely matte. When it fades by the end of the day, it leaves behind a pink tint.

Finish

As I already mentioned, the lipstick is creamy matte, it gives a rich semi matte finish. The finish looks beautiful, making lips look fuller. To attain complete matte look, I blot my lips. But if you prefer super lustrous lips, do not blot your lips.

Longevity

Blotting your lipstick after fist coat, helps you increase the staying power of the lipstick on your lips. I apply this lipstick, blot my lips and reapply another coat. This way it stays on my lips for 5-6 hours. Post that I either take it off completely, or apply another coat if I need to. The lipstick fades into a pink tint.
