NYX makes some amazing neutral lip colors and among them my favorites are NYX Lip Lingerie Seduction & Soft Matte Lip Cream Istanbul and Kyoto. I have warm neutral undertones and that too in the medium complexion considering the international standards. Finding a perfect nude lip shade feels a bit difficult for my skin. Every time I buy some lip color watching some Indian Youtube guru’s video, it turns either deep or ashy. The same happens with many cult-favorite lip shades.
Even the universally flattering MAC Ruby Woo did not look that pretty on me! All right, griefs aside, let’s talk about my favorite nude picks from NYX now. I love matte nudes; Kyoto, Istanbul and Seduction, all three shades are in matte formula. These are (My Lips But Better) mlbb nudes on me; that means they are very close to my natural lip tint. How I Pick A Nude Lipstick?
Neutral lipsticks are usually 2-3 shade lighter or darker than your original skin and lip tone. Each of us have some unique undertones to our skin and that’s why every nude lipstick is not perfect nude for everyone. My upper lip is more pigmented than my lower lips. I prefer my day-time neutrals to be 1-2 tones lighter or exactly same tone as my lips. It makes both the lips look even tinted and I also love the no-makeup kind of finish I get from this.

1. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Istanbul
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream presents a range of soft creamy matte formula. The comfortable long wear lipsticks come in 20 beautiful shades varying from reds to pinks and nudes. The mousse formula feels feather like light yet pigmented. Apt for summer and spring, the range flatters every skin tone.
Packaging
This lip cream comes in a color coded cylindrical tube. It has a matte black color screw cap. The applicator wand is attached to the cap. The short tube is completely opaque so you can’t see the actual product unless you open the lid. This has doe-foot applicator. The applicator is soft and user-friendly.
Texture
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream– Theses are liquid lipsticks with mousse texture. The formula feels creamy when wet. It sets into comfortable matte. The formula is weightless and less drying than traditional liquid lipsticks. The formula is forgiving as well. You get a chance to correct your mistakes before it sets into complete matte. The formula is more or less transfer-proof but I won’t say it’s a 100% transfer-proof lipstick. It has faint vanilla fragrance.
The weightless formula of NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams is impressive. I reach for Istanbul when I want a fresh flush of color on my lips. I often wear it as blush tint. The peach toned Kyoto is again a favorite of mine. I wear it on those days I can’t decide what to wear on the lips. These have a minimum of 4-5 hours of stay time on me. I sometimes wear same tone lip liners to increase the staying power but in most days I skip it altogether.
Shade Description
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Istanbul Istanbul is a soft pink shade with cool-neutral undertone. It is neither absolutely cool barbie pink nor mauve-y nude. The shade blends itself with my natural lip tint to give a naturally flushed lip look. You can pair it up with any outfit and any look. This shade looks pretty on MAC’s NC30 and below.

2. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Kyoto
NYX Soft Matte Matte Lip Cream Kyoto is a nude peach shade with cool undertone. Peach lipsticks are usually warm based but this unique peach shade comes with a beautiful cool-neutral tone. This is again a nice mlbb shade for day time occasions and no-makeup looks for me. This shade again is a perfect one for MAC’s NC 30 and below.

Packaging
NYX Lip Lingerie is a liquid lip color comes in a sleek long cylindrical tube with a shiny black screw cap. The packaging is transparent so you get to see the shade of the lipstick from outside. The applicator wand is quite long to reach the bottom of the tube. It has a soft paddle-shaped applicator.
Texture
These are perfect matte liquid lipsticks but without the odd stretchy feel. This is also a mousse form lipstick like the soft matte lip creams. The formula feels light on the lips. With this you don’t get the chance to correct the edges as it dries within seconds. This is a fragrance free lipstick.
Shade Description
NYX Lip Lingerie Seduction is a warm brown with hints of terracotta. This is the deepest shade of my collection and this one suits all Indian skin tones. This shade is extremely comfortable to wear. It looks brown on my lips but it is a nice mlbb shade for Mac’s NC35 and up. Apart from the Seduction shade, the other shades might not look flattering on the complexions above NC30
Liquid Lingerie is deeper than the previous two. Obviously, it shows up as lipstick on me. I wear it when I want a more corporate kind of look. I pair it with a bit kajal and I am set for the day. This one has a moist feel to it but it does not transfer a bit. It stays intact for 7 hours at least with minimal fading from the center of the lips. I have tried creating intense smokey looks and trust me all three of these look really pretty with it.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream VS NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick. Which One Is Better?
Actually the formulas of NYX Soft Matte Cream range and NYX Lip Lingerie range are comparable. The finish is matte and comfortable. The staying power of Lip Lingerie is better than the soft cream because, the former is a liquid lipstick and has a quick drying formula. The price tag is same, but the quantity that you get, definitely differs. Also, Lip Lingerie is a nude range of liquid lipsticks, while Soft Matte Cream Lip Color is a regukar range from NYX. Both NYX Lip Lingerie and Soft Matte Lip Cream ranges offer extremely pigmented mousse matte liquid lipsticks. They are not dry and harsh on the lips yet impart lasting tint. I have chosen nude shades according to my skin tone and preferences. If you are above NC30 do try Cannes, Rome and Berlin from NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Cream range and Exotic from Lip Lingerie.
