Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture- Combination Skin : Review

Today I am going to talk about a moisturizer from Neutrogena. It’s the one, every one is raving about. It’s not new but a tried and tested one from many many years by many girls out there. It is one of my favorite moisturizer during winter. Clean n Clear Oil Free Moisturiser is permanent resident in my vanity. But Clean n Clear moisturizer is very watery in consistency, so during winter, it was not enough to hydrate my face. I still would feel the need to layer some more moisture on my face. Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture- Combination Skin is what I tried and I am going to talk about today.

About Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture- Combination Skin

Basically Combination skin is considered to be the most troubled skin since it has a combination of oily as well as some dry spots. You can’t slather heavy moisture on your face, and light moisturiser can not take care of the dry spots. Neutrogena formulated an oil free moisturiser specially for combination skin to normalize the combination skin by moisturisng the dry spots and simultaneously controlling shine from the oily parts of the face. Packaging

The moisturiser bottle comes in a sturdy white coloured cardboard box with all the important information about the product is printed. After opening the outer box you find a white plastic bottle with pump fitted on the top to dispense the product. The bottle pump does not have a cover since it comes with “a twist to lock/unlock” mechanism. The bottle has Neutrogena logo and all the other information printed except the ingredient list. The ingredients are printed only on the outer packaging. I really liked the packaging except the fact that it does not come in a smaller pack.

Colour, Texture & Smell

The moisturizer is water based and really light weight. If you have used the Clean n Clear Oil Free Moisturiser, you can compare it’s consistency to it, but Neutrogena is little thicker in consistency than the Clean n Clear one, so it helps in treating any dry spots while providing the right amount of moisture to it. Since the texture is light weight, it gets absorbed very quickly leaving matte finish behind. It has very mild and non irritating smell even though the company claims it to be fragrance free.

My Skin Type

I have oily, acne prone & sensitive skin, which turns combination during winter. So I am left with a mix of oily & dry spots.

My Experience With Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturizer

I generally get this moisturizer during winter, as for summer Clean Clear Oil Free Moisturizer is enough for my oily skin. Since winter are really harsh, Clean n Clear just can’t deliver the right amount of moisture to my skin. Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturizer, is definitely a savior when I really need little heavy moisturization with clogging my pores.

Just one pump of this product is enough to moisturize my face and neck. The moisturizer sinks deep into my skin within few seconds -leaving it in a calmer state. Skin feels moisturized and there is no heavy or stretchy feeling. I do not feel the need to use this moisturizer again until I wash my face at night with a face wash. Mostly I use this moisturizer once in the morning only, since at night I use my night cream.

Even though it has a pump packaging, the bottle is spill proof since the pump has an easy lock mechanism. I wish there was some smaller size of this bottle available to be carried in my handbag while travelling.

I have also used the SPF version of this moisturizer but that kind of broke me out, while this non SPF version never broke me out.

Does not come in smaller size (best to my knowledge).

This is one of the moisturizers that are specially formulated for combination-oily skins while giving required amount of moisture to skin without making it oily or greasy. It takes care of all dry spots without clogging pores. The price is little on higher side but totally worth it. A must have for combination skin.
