Coming to the results, I have been using it for about 2 weeks now. The face wash takes away oil, impurities and gunk but it does not dry out my skin. My Experience I do not remember when I first tried this scrub, but I remember using it on and off always. I stop using it when I get bored of using it. Himalaya’s Neem range is really effective and popular among acne prone skinned girls. The face wash is considered to be the very first product to be used when you suffer from teen acne. I suffer from hormonal breakouts, so the neem range can not really do much about it. But the scrub is really effective in keeping my skin free of dead skin and gives me effective exfoliation without hurting my skin. The scrub has very small granuals still I experience a good scrubbing effect. All I am left is soft, smooth & bright skin. It never irritates my skin nor does it aggravates existing acne. I would not recommend it for every day scrubbing job though. I suffer from bleak heads on my nose, but they never fully disappear even after using this scrub. The scrub is affordable and economical too. My SIL has dry skin and she loves it too. I feel this suits every skin type. Likes Natural & herbal composition. Contains the goodness of Neem & Turmeric. Their Green Tea range is specially designed for people who have combination, oily or acne-prone skin. This range consists of four products; Plum green tea face wash, an alcohol free green tea toner, a moisturizer, a glycolic acid green tea face pack and a body wash. Today I will share my experience of Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer that contains the goodness of anti-oxidant rich green tea and mild peeling agent glycolic acid. I got this one last month as my old moisturizer is about to get over. The toner from this range is already reviewed here in High On Gloss. Do check it out. Now, Let’s jump to the review to find out how it worked on me. What Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer is Abut? Because matte matters! Silicone-free, matte-finish moisturizer with hand-picked non-comedogenic ingredients. Daily pleasant after-feel, non-shiny finish and acne combat. This is just the light moisturizer that oily skin types had been waiting for. The pump is secured by a transparent plastic lid that shuts tightly with a blunt sound. The pump is attached to the bottle with a screw cap. So, you have the liberty to take out the product either by the pump or by opening up the screw. The moisturizer bottle has a protective outer pack made of cardboard. The product claims, ingredients and other related information are mentioned on both, the moisturizer bottle and the cardboard pack for the convenience of users. Overall the packaging is sturdy, ergonomic and travel-friendly. Color, Texture & Fragrance The moisturizer is light green in color that looks almost white in the swatch. According to the brand the color used here is of food grade. I have used products with food grade color before and their color densities were also of similar kind. The facial moisturizer appears medium thick, neither too runny nor too dense. The consistency is smooth. It blends well on even dehydrated skin. It has a mild fresh floral fragrance to it that I like very much. The smell leaves behind a subtle hint that stays for 1-3 hours. My Skin Type Oily to Combination, Acne-prone My Experience With Plum Green tea Matte Moisturizer I apply this moisturizer twice a day after cleansing and toning my face. Less is more for this product. I just need half a pump of moisturizer for my entire face and neck. It gets absorbed into my skin as I massage my face with outwards circular motion. After a minute or two it sets into dewy matte. As it contains glycolic acid, some people experience a tingling sensation immediately after application. I did not feel anything of that sort. The formula of this one is slightly richer than my Neutrogena Oil Free moisturizer. So, I do not think it will be able to give matte finish in humid summer. I checked the ingredient list in an online comedogenicity checker. It detected one comedogenic ingredient; stearic acid (a plant based fat). Since my skin does not show any bad reaction or acne-bout, I am fine with it. The company have not made any impossible claims with this product and they kept all their promises. In my opinion, a product like this could have been reachable to many more if the price was a bit lower. More From Plum Green Tea Range For Oily Acne Prone Skin Mask – Plum Green Tea Clear Face Mask Toner- Plum Green Tea Alcohol Free Toner Serum- Plum Green Tea Skin Clarifying Concentrate Night Gel -Plum Green Tea Renewed Clarity Night Gel Likes Smells pleasant. Glycolic acid contained by the moisturizer, helps keeping skin fresh by enhancing the skin cell turn over. Green tea is known as a anti-oxidant. Hydrates my face well without making it oily. Does not cause or aggravate acne. Full ingredient list is mentioned Dislikes Costly considering the quantity. Does not give full matte finish. I did not face acne with this moisturizer, it still contains a comedo-genic ingredient, stearic acid which might give blocked pores to some. Summary: 3.75/5 Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer is a nice face moisturizer for oily to combination skin if you can higher your budget a bit. The formula is hydrating and soothing yet not overly moisturizing. It may feel heavy for extremely oily skin in summer but will work well in the colder months. Have you used this face moisturizer? Nisha got this TFS Exeperience Kit few weeks back and tested out the White Seed Moisture Cream, which did not suit her oily and acne prone skim. I volunteered to test out the Rice Sheet Mask from the same kit. Read on my review on this sheet mask. The Face Shop is a South Korean and famous brand among bloggers for it’s innovative skin care products. Korean people religiously use sheet masks to pamper their skin and provide required nourishment and vital supplements. That’s one of the reasons behind their ever glowing skin. About The Face Shop Real Nature Rice Sheet Mask Rice Water is a mostly used as a brightening agent in skin care products. It is natural and effective. This particular Rice Sheet Mask also brightens dull and darken skin naturally since it does not contain any parabenes. This mask is meant to be used on all skin types. Price Rs. 100 for 1 Sheet Mask. Get it here on discount. Ingredients Packaging It is a sheet mask dipped in clear serum. It comes in a very sleek and lightweight plastic sachet so that you can carry it around in your bag. The plastic sachet also contains little more clear serum which is supposed to be massaged over after you have used the mask. There is perfume like smell which I don’t think was necessary. A natural product should smell somewhat natural. How To Use Clean your face and pat dry. Apply some toner. Pull out the sheet mask from the carton and place on your face. Wait for 15-20 minutes before removing the mask. Massage withe left over serum all over your face and neck. My Skin Type I have normal to dry skin type. I get tanned very easily. I already had some tanning on my face, that is why I chose to test out the Rice Sheet Mask. My Experience This was my first time experience with such kind of mask. I have never had used a sheet mask before, so this was different and exciting. My major skin problem is skin tanning, I get tanned very easily. Even during winter, my skin is bit tanned. I thought it would be good idea to use the brightening mask from the TFS Experience Kit. I cleaned my face and applied Vichy Normaderm Toner which Nisha was having. After that I applied the sheet mask on my face. Initially I felt there was a little burning sensation, since it was bearable I kept the mask on. After few minutes, the burning sensation went away and I felt more relaxed. After 20 minutes I took off the mask from my face. These type of masks never dries out so you can keep them even longer. Since I was excited to see the difference, I took it off after 20 minutes. I massaged my face with the left over serum. Coming to the after effects I would not say drastic changes, but yeah there was subtle glow on my face, my cheeks were glowing and my dry skin was quite moisturised. Skin felt smooth and supple. There was little bit brightening effect and to achieve better results, I must be using it for more than once. I also had some problems regarding the size of the sheet mask. The face mask was really wide and had really small holes for eye socket. But I managed. Likes Convenient to use. Brightens dull skin. Moisturises skin very well. Skin feels smooth and supple. No breakouts noticed. Free of Parabenes. Dislikes Little burning sensation for the initial few minutes. Single use can not bring out the desired results. Summary: 4/5 I think this product is suitable when you need to refresh your skin within few minutes like before attending a party. While regular usage can help you maintain a healthy and bright skin. Ponds White Beauty Pearl Cleansing Gel – Face Wash : Review

Hi, Temperature has dipped so much. How are you coping up? It is supposed to dip further according to the weather forecast. It is the best time to use those overcoats and extra layers of woollen clothes that are hiding in your closet. Cover yourself from head to toe. Don’t even expose your fingers, they would go numb or swell like most of the people complain. Stay protected and cozy. No matter temperature it is, but we have to carry out our daily chores and cleansing as well. Face wash is something you can not skip even on a cold day. Speaking of a face wash, let’s talk about a face wash from Pond’s which is my recent buy. It’s from the Pond’s White Beauty Range and named as Pearl Cleansing Gel. About Ponds White Beauty Pearl Cleansing Gel Pond’s claims that it is infused with Pearl Essence. Pearl Essence is linked with skin freshness and fairness. From decades pearl/diamond bhasam are used in cosmetics and Pond’s formulated its own formula know as Oxy Gel formula. According to Pond’s, the Oxy Gel Formula effectively removes oil & dirt but does not rip of the skin moisture. It is a refreshing and foamy formula leaving your skin bright and glowing. Price Rs. 95 or 50g. Buy here. Ingredients Packaging It comes in an attractive packaging which is one of the reasons that I bought it. I feel having attractive packaging, makes a product sell fast. It comes in a rose pink transparent tube with a flip top to disperse the product. It is quite convenient and travel friendly packaging. Since the tube is transparent you can check on the amount of the face wash left. Colour, Texture & Smell The face wash, as mentioned, is a gel. It is clear gel which foams while application on skin. There are no beads or anything else. There are small bubbles in the tube, which depict as small beads and that’s what I thought when I bought it. I took is a mild exfoliating face wash. The smell of the gel is quite mild and pleasant as compared to the smell of the Pimple Clear face wash from Pond’s. My Experience As I already mentioned, I took it as a face wash with small beads as there are small bubbles in the tube. They still are. Maybe it’s just the formula of the cleansing gel. I was kind of disappointed. But then, it was my mistake. So I used this as a regular face wash. I take it in my palms and rub it with little water, it lathers well. It is a foaming cleanser, just like a regular soapy cleanser. It cleanses well. It takes away even light makeup, lipstick stains etc. Skin looks fresh after usage, but I did not notice any kind of brightening which I do not even expect from a face wash. I used it twice a day for a week ditching my other cleansers/face washes. But there was nothing extra ordinary effect to be seen on my face. It does not overly dry out skin, but skin feels tight and needs a moisturiser after wards in contrast to Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. I can give it the benefit of doubts since it’s winter. Will try it again during summer. Till then it will stay unused. Likes Cleanses well. Takes away makeup, dirt and oil. Foaming face wash. Convenient and travel friendly packaging. Dislikes Pricey since it acts just as a regular face wash. Face feels dry afterwards. Summary : 3/5 It is just a regular face wash and claims of brightening and glowing skin, could not stand true for me. It is pricey when compared to other regular face washes. Only the packaging is attractive. I would not recommend buying this face wash, as there are several other face washes from Pond’s which are worth trying. Last week I got The Face Shop Experience Kit, which constituted a moisturising cream, two face masks and a CC Cushion. Starting from last weekend I started using the moisture cream, called White Seed BLANCLOUDING White Moisture Cream. This is a pure moisture cream with brightening effect. I could use it only for 4 days. Why? Read on. About The Face Shop White Seed BLANCLOUDING White Moisture Cream I was really impressed to read about the moisture cream on The Face Shop company website. This cream has an elastic texture which is achieved by following the natural process of formation of clouds. Now I do not understand what significance does this elastic texture has on skin. The Face Shop claims this cream contains a compound consisting of White Lupin Seed, which contains a natural brightening substance, and White Daisy Flower extract, which helps reducing dullness. All in all, this compound makes skin look bright and clear. Also this cream is formulated without parabens, tar colorant, animal-sourced ingredients, mineral oil, talc, polyacrylamide, paraffin. Price $40 for 50ml. Packaging It comes in a very cute white tub packaging with greyish lid. I do not like tub packaging for skin care items but, this I have something for small & cute tub packaging. I might not even throw the empty jar. Colour, Texture & Smell It is a white coloured gel cream with elastic texture. By elastic I literally mean it has little rubber like texture. When I try to pick some product it stays glued to the jar. The smell of this cream is very mild, pleasantly sweet and does not irritate my nose. My Skin Type Oily, Acne Prone & Sensitive. My Views I bought The Face Shop Experience Kit, as it was a lucrative deal on Amazon. The White Seed Moisture Cream, was the very first item from the kit I started using very first. I am always very sceptical about using a product mainly termed as moisture/moisturiser. Since I have oily skin, and it can not bear heavy creams even during winter. The texture of the cream is smooth but elastic(little rubbery). I have never used a product with this texture. But this texture does not interfere with the application of the cream on skin. I take pea sized cream and dot it over my forehead, cheeks and chin. And then massage it gently. The cream gets absorbed very fast leaving no oiliness or greasiness behind. There is also no white cast. It’s a pure moisture cream which sans any SPF. My skin feels moisturised for the entire day and there is little brightening effect. there is no dullness/ roughness or dry spots to be seen or feel. For the first 3 days I quite liked this cream very much. The fourth day I woke up with small 3-4 small zits on my cheeks where I hardly get any. This was a sign that something was wrong. I thought I ate something wrong. Later after bath when I was applying this moisture cream, I realised, this is s the change that have caused the zits. And I sighed. Another mistake. Now the scars will take for ever to fade away. I have stooped using this cream altogether. I was using this twice a day. My skin could not take that much dose of moisture I guess. I really liked the brightening glow on face this cream gave. Also it is not that easily available in India and is really pricey. So ditching this won’t hurt much.I have some cream left in the sample jar which I guess Neeraj will be using as he has dry skin type. Likes Smooth & light textured cream. Takes away skin dryness in just one application. Skin brightening can also be witnessed with just one application. No oily residue. No white cast. Smells nice and mild. Formulated without parabaens and another additives. Dislikes Broke me out. Pricey. Availability is an issue. Summary : 3/5 It is great moisturising cream for dry to normal skins but acne prone oily skin might not bear the richness of this cream. It might break out the skin. Also the hefty price is a big factor that I would not buy the full size jar ever. I am still happy with my Himalaya Herbals Natural Glow Fairness Cream and TBS Oils Of Life Sleeping Cream. How To Use After cleansing the face, pat it dry. Dampen a cotton pad in the astringent and swipe across your face. Let it dry for few minutes before proceeding with moisturiser. I do not always use this astringent with a cotton pad. Sometimes whenever I am in hurry, I just take out some product on my palm, and apply it directly on my face with fingers. Packaging It comes in a light blue transparent bottle with flip top cap. The packaging is very convenient and attractive. The blue coloured bottle gives a refreshing feeling. Colour, Texture & Smell The consistency of the astringent is clear and watery. When I apply the astringent on my skin, there is little tingling sensatiom specially if I had scrubbed my face before using this. The sensation goes away within few minutes though. The smell of the astringent is not pleasant and generally alcohol, but not something really strong. The smell also goes away after wearing it for some time. My Skin Type I have oily, acne prone & sensitive skin with little open pores on my cheeks. My Views I got this astringent for many reasons. I had heard/read a lot about this product many times before getting this astringent. The product contains LHA which is a micro-exfoliant and not just over drying alcohols. Since I have oily and acne prone skin, a toner is generally not that effective saying from my experience. An astringent is definitely a right choice. I have been using it from last 4 months with in between breaks. I use it once in the morning after shower and sometimes at night if I have worn makeup throughout the day. It is advised to use an astringent at night if you wear makeup regularly to completely get rid of the makeup traces after cleaning up with regular cleanser. Whenever I use it regularly, I experience quite less break outs as compared to the period when I do not use it. It also heals the zits sooner. So I can say that it has has ability to control hormonal acne to some extent if not 100%. Regarding the pore size, yes there is some difference in my pore size. My skin looks little bit more smoother. But the effect is lost if I discontinue using it. It is pricey but it’s a 200ml bottle that you get, which takes ages to finish. Okay not ages, but it will last for at least 6 months for me. I have been using it for more than 4 months, and my bottle is still half full. Likes The astringent contains LHA which is a micro exfoliant. Unclogs pores. Heals existing acne faster. Lesser breakouts. Works on hormonal acne too. Pores are visibly reduced in size. Face looks smoother and clearer after prolong usage. Convenient and attractive packaging. One bottle lasts for at least 6 months. Dislikes Pricey. Available only online. Alcoholic smell. Summary : 4.75/5 It is an excellent astringent for oily and acne prone skin if you can overlook the price. It keeps even hormonal acne in check. Also reduces pore size, making the skin look smoother. VLCC Lovable Lips is such a range out there, I quite liked the packaging and got my self the Rose version. Let me tell you what I feel about it. Shades Rose, Strawberry, Peach, Orange, Almond, Honey, Cherry, Mango. I got Rose for my self. It gives mauve/purple tint. Taste, Texture & Smell The texture of the lip balm is as expected, creamy. It glides on the lips very smoothly. The smell is not what I expected. I expected it to smell like roses, but it does not, it actually smells more like scented sticks 🙁 . Also it has little weird taste, which is really undesired from a lip balm. If I have to define the taste, I would say it has little soapy taste. My Experience I have been very loyal to Maybelline Baby Lips from last few years. It is highly moisturising and gives good colour too. Still I can’t keep my ogling eyes from checking out other lip balms. For example, I liked the fresh packaging of VLCC Lovable Lips, and I bought it. Frankly I liked the title of the product, “Lovable Lips”, quite catchy huh? I also like the rich creamy texture of this lip balm. Just one swipe across my lips, and my lips are moisturised. I do not need to use the lip balm for at least next 5-6 hours. The lip balm wears off with meals but the moisture stays on my lips for the entire day. It heals my dry lips in just one application. It is a tinted lip balm and delivers purple colour initially. The colour pay off is as good as a sheer lipstick. Even when the colour wears off, it leaves my lips tinted as natural pink. I just love that colour on my lips. Now coming to the bad part, I do not like the taste of this lip balm. It literally tastes little soapy for few minutes when you apply it. I feel a lip balm should be taste less or at least should not taste bad. Likes Rich creamy texture. Contains goodness of Jojoba oil, Almond oil & Vitamin E. Contains Sun Protection Factor (SPF 15). One swipe gives moisture & colour to lips Lips stay moisturised for really long hours. Convenient packaging. Very affordable. Easily available. Vast range to choose the shade. Contains SPF 15 No waxy feeling on lips. Dislikes Tastes little soapy initially. Does not smell like roses. What’s the point in naming it “Rose”?
