Plum Goodness is a comparatively new skin care brand in Indian market that only sells products online. Their Green Tea range is specially designed for people who have combination, oily or acne-prone skin. This range consists of four products; Plum green tea face wash, an alcohol free green tea toner, a moisturizer, a glycolic acid green tea face pack and a body wash. Today I will share my experience of Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer that contains the goodness of anti-oxidant rich green tea and mild peeling agent glycolic acid. I got this one last month as my old moisturizer is about to get over. The toner from this range is already reviewed here in High On Gloss. Do check it out. Now, Let’s jump to the review to find out how it worked on me. What Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer is Abut? Because matte matters! Silicone-free, matte-finish moisturizer with hand-picked non-comedogenic ingredients. Daily pleasant after-feel, non-shiny finish and acne combat. This is just the light moisturizer that oily skin types had been waiting for. Multi-dimensional care that includes: controlled hydration, non-shiny matte finish, acne (pimples) combat and a fresh, clear appearance. Green tea extracts The anti-oxidants in green tea apply the brakes on oxidation reactions that lead up to bacterial proliferation that in turn cause acne. Glycolic acid Preventing acne is better than treating it. Glycolic acid plays an important role in skin renewal and prevents build-up of skin debris that can cause acne. Light, matte finish moisturizer especially formulated for oily skin Glycolic acid helps keep skin clear Green tea extracts act against the acne formation process 100% silicone-free, non-comedogenic ingredients Paraben-free, SLS-free, phthalate-free, as always How To Use: Dot your face with moisturizer. One dot each on forehead, both cheeks, nose & chin. That’s five dots totally. Now gently massage into skin using finger-tips, in slow upward-outward circular motion. Apply on neck as well. Ingredients Aqua (Water), Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerine, Glycerin, Glycolic Acid, PEG 400, Phenoxyethanol, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Fragrance, FDA Approved Colours Packaging This moisturizer comes in a white plastic pump bottle of cylindrical shape. The pump is secured by a transparent plastic lid that shuts tightly with a blunt sound. The pump is attached to the bottle with a screw cap. So, you have the liberty to take out the product either by the pump or by opening up the screw. The moisturizer bottle has a protective outer pack made of cardboard. The product claims, ingredients and other related information are mentioned on both, the moisturizer bottle and the cardboard pack for the convenience of users. Overall the packaging is sturdy, ergonomic and travel-friendly. Color, Texture & Fragrance The moisturizer is light green in color that looks almost white in the swatch. According to the brand the color used here is of food grade. I have used products with food grade color before and their color densities were also of similar kind. The facial moisturizer appears medium thick, neither too runny nor too dense. The consistency is smooth. It blends well on even dehydrated skin. It has a mild fresh floral fragrance to it that I like very much. The smell leaves behind a subtle hint that stays for 1-3 hours. My Skin Type Oily to Combination, Acne-prone My Experience With Plum Green tea Matte Moisturizer I apply this moisturizer twice a day after cleansing and toning my face. Less is more for this product. I just need half a pump of moisturizer for my entire face and neck. It gets absorbed into my skin as I massage my face with outwards circular motion. After a minute or two it sets into dewy matte. As it contains glycolic acid, some people experience a tingling sensation immediately after application. I did not feel anything of that sort. The formula of this one is slightly richer than my Neutrogena Oil Free moisturizer. So, I do not think it will be able to give matte finish in humid summer. I checked the ingredient list in an online comedogenicity checker. It detected one comedogenic ingredient; stearic acid (a plant based fat). Since my skin does not show any bad reaction or acne-bout, I am fine with it. The company have not made any impossible claims with this product and they kept all their promises. In my opinion, a product like this could have been reachable to many more if the price was a bit lower. Glycolic acid contained by the moisturizer, helps keeping skin fresh by enhancing the skin cell turn over. Green tea is known as a anti-oxidant. Hydrates my face well without making it oily. Does not cause or aggravate acne. Full ingredient list is mentioned Dislikes Costly considering the quantity. Does not give full matte finish. I did not face acne with this moisturizer, it still contains a comedo-genic ingredient, stearic acid which might give blocked pores to some. Summary: 3.75/5 Plum Green Tea Mattifying Moisturizer is a nice face moisturizer for oily to combination skin if you can higher your budget a bit. The formula is hydrating and soothing yet not overly moisturizing. It may feel heavy for extremely oily skin in summer but will work well in the colder months. Have you used this face moisturizer? Today, I am going to talk about a moisturizing lotion from Garnier, which is light on skin and fast-absorbing. The moisturizer also gives a little brightening effect on the skin. I am talking about Garnier Skin Naturals Sun Control Daily Moisturiser with SPF15 and UVA+ sun protection. Let’s dive into the details straight away. About Garnier Skin Naturals Sun Control Daily Moisturiser SPF 15 UVA+ The light moisturizer is formulated with Mexoryl SX with Vitamin E and Glycerol & Extracts of Coriander. It basically gives daily moisturization while protecting your skin from UVA & UVB rays, which causes skin darkening and premature skin aging. According to Garnier, Mexoryl SX gives protection from the sun’s harmful rays. Vitamin E protects against free radicals which delay skin aging. Glycerol retails skin moisture and nourishes skin deep inside. It has been tested dermatologically so that it does not cause any skin allergies. Price Rs. 185 for 50ml. Buy here. Ingredients Packaging It comes in a white opaque plastic bottle with an orange cap. It has a nozzle at one end to disperse the product. There are eye-catching orange graphics and information printed in the pack. The pack is sleek to carry in your handbag. There is also another version of this daily moisturizer. It also comes in SPF 6 but still gives protection from UVA & UVB rays. Colour, Texture & Smell The moisturizer is a lightweight lotion. It is pinkish white lotion. It gets absorbed fast when rubbing onto the skin. There is no stickiness left afterward. The smell of this lotion is mild but powdery sweet. It goes away from the skin pretty soon. My Skin Type Oily, sensitive, and acne-prone. It turns combination during winter. Also Read: My Holy Grail Sunscreen For Oily & Acne-Prone Skin My Experience My skin never likes creams. It either breaks out badly as I did from The Face Shop White Seed Moisturiser, or my skin gets suffocated like I get blocked pores from Pond’s White Beauty Day Cream. Hence lightweight moisturizers or serums are a safe bet for my skin. Garnier Sun Control Daily Moisturiser is also a lightweight formula that sinks into my skin within seconds leaving it soft and supple. There is no greasy-ness felt afterward, but the skin is moisturized fully. There is little pinkish tint in the lotion hence my skin also looks like I have applied Lacto Calamine on my face, little white cast is expected due to the presence of SPF 15. Even that little bit of SPF can give you a white cast. My skin stays moisturized the whole day long, and there are no dry spots or dullness on my face afterward. Since it contains SPF 15, I was a bit hesitant about even using this first but I like to take my chances. It did not break my skin anyhow. I think it is a basic moisturizer with little sun protection. My all-time favorite Clean n Clear oil-free moisturizer is much cheaper than this one, but then Clean n Clear one, does not contain any sun protection. Garnier Sun Control is more concentrated in consistency than Clean n Clear moisturizer. Likes Lightweight fast-absorbing formula. Moisturizes skin very well without making it greasy or oily. Gives matte finish with little brightening effect Contains SPF15 and gives protection from UVA & UVB rays. Does not break out my skin nor does it block pores. Dermatologically tested for skin allergies. Suits all skin types especially for oily and combination skins. Affordable. Easily available. Sleek and attractive packaging. Dislikes Gives little white cast. Can not replace heavy moisturizing cold creams for dry skins. I do not think a product should be named Sun Control if it contains only SPF 15, which is not enough to face the sun the whole day long. You must re-apply the lotion after every few minutes to protect yourself from skin darkening and premature aging. Summary: 3.5/5 It is a lightweight moisturizing lotion perfect to moisturize normal to oily skins without giving breakouts. It has also added sun protection. But if you have to be out in the sun, do not rely on this moisturizer for sun protection. I take this lotion as a moisturizer only which is affordable and comes in travel-friendly packaging. New To Sunscreen? Everything about sunscreen and sunblock I have been also lately testing out Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturiser which I bought last week.
