Hey Girls, How about making a tea light candle holder out of your unused glass jar. Being beauty junky, I buy lots of stuff, and some only because they had beautiful packaging. I never through an empty container, I just can’t. I have huge boxes filled with empty jars and containers. I always feel like I can recycle them. I can use them anyhow. Actually it’s true. There had been times, when I really needed to use some old container. And that’s when I thanked myself. So today, I will be using a long stored glass jar. Remember how much I loved, Botanic Love Acne Mask ? After I used up all the face mask, I saved this cute little jar. It’s adorable. I could have used it in many ways. I could have put some colorful marbles and it would have attracted attention. But I planned to use it some other way. I chose this glass jar to make a cool tea light candle holder. Tea light candles are very small and they tend to look very basic if not arranged in a special way. A candle holder actually multiplies the beauty of a candle. When it comes to teal light candles, you just can’t ignore a beautiful holder. What You Need To Make A Tea Light Candle Holder There are numerous ways you can make a candle light holder. I am going to share a very quick tutorial. A very simple way, because I like it to be simple yet mesmerizing. You don’t need much things. Most of the things are very much subjective to your choice & their availability. A Clean Glass Jar A glass jar, be it of any size is the most basic requirement, because you want your candle to be shown through the container. A mason jar is an ideal choice. But even a glass wine would work just fine. I cleaned the empty jar of Botanic Love Face Mask thoroughly and it was ready to serve me very well. Colorful Bath Salt / Marbles / Sand Next thing in the list is something that you can use to fill up the jar with. You can use as basic as sand, stones, marbles, basically any thing that serves the purpose well. I opted for Soul Flower Germanium Bath Salt because it smells heavenly. It kind of pumps up the ambiance. The beautiful rich pink color of the bath salt adds charm to the jar. Tea Light Candles You need to decide how many candles you want to put inside your jar. It depends upon the size of the jar. If you are using a big mason jar, it can hold more than one candle. My jar is very small, so I opted for single candle. A String (Optional) I wanted my glass jar to hang in my balcony and so I arranged for a decorative string. In case you want the holder to lay on a flat surface you don’t need this string. How To Make Tea Light Candle Holder At Home Easily Pour bath salt/ sand / marbles/ stones in your pre cleaned glass jar till the jar is 3/4 full. Place your tea light candles over the base. If you want to hang your holder, wrap the string around the neck of the jar and secure it with few knots. Lay or hang your holder wherever you want it. Lit the candle and enjoy the beauty of night. This metal based kit is a recent re-launch by VLCC. It used to be a 4 step kit earlier; the brand has now included a pre-facial cleanser and a post-facial moisturizer to make it a complete skin treatment. The kit I have is a single user kit but the amount provided is enough for doing two facials. Here are some details regarding each item in the Gold kit. Pre-facial Comfrey Cleanser cum Toner: This is basically a cleansing milk kind of product. It looks pure white and the consistency is medium to runny. It has mild floral fragrance. This product is able to remove every tress of dirt and makeup (waterproof too!) gently. Gold Scrub: This scrub is very mild and the granules are small. It contains fine shimmery particles resembling of gold. This kind of exfoliator works best on people who do not have blackheads. That is why it worked on my mom but could not show that much difference on me. Gold Gel: This is a lightweight gel that gets absorbed into the skin and hydrates from within. This gel gives a nice shine to the face. Gold Cream: It is an off-white cream with good spreading ability. It gives the perfect slip to massage the face. It is quite moisturizing but the thickness is not very heavy. Gold Peel Off Mask: It is a yellow colored gum based peel off mask with floral fragrance. This product spreads nicely on the skin and dries evenly. This product gives instant glow and does not strip off moisture balance of the skin. Post-facial Oil Free Moisturizing Gel SPF 15 PA+: It is a yellowish gel with medium thickness provided to maintain what is done on the face through the Gold facial. It moisturizes face without making the skin oily. VLCC provides enough amount of gel that can be used for at least 7-8 times. I have got the multi use kit which VLCC calls Salon Series kit. My kit has 6 sachets per item and a small facial serum bottle. Here are the mini-reviews for each item. Indian Berberry Face Scrub: Enriched with dates and papaya this defoliator helps to cleanse the skin deeply. The scrub beads of it are uniform and medium in size. They give you cleansed skin without being harsh on skin. Though it has a creamy base, it do not leave creamy residue afterwards. The smell is nice too. Saffron Massage Gel: This medium thick gel is faint reddish purple in colour has a distinct saffron smell. Its consistency feels just perfect for massaging my skin for 5-6 minutes with wet hands. Snigdha Face Cream: This is a good floral-scented massage cream that has medium to heavy moisturizing power. Revital Skin Whitening Serum: This serum is a light-yellow oil-like product which is very light on skin. If you apply 2 drops of it alone in your cleansed skin it will get absorbed completely. It too has a floral fragrance but the intensity is very low. I generally mix it with the massage cream to get better slip. When my skin feels very dehydrated I mix 2 drops of it to the face pack also. It helps to retain the moisture to my skin. Insta Glow Face Pack: This is a clay based face pack but has sufficient creaminess that makes it useful for every types of skin. It does not dry completely. This product helps me to calm down my face after heavy massaging and deep exfoliation. It has a typical relaxing ayurvedic smell. Overall Result: This Gold facial kit suited my mom’s oily mature skin better than me. It gave her a nice sheen that I see on her face after facial session at a salon. I am absolutely repurchasing this one for my mom. Though it did not irritate my acne-prone skin, it failed to work on my blackheads. The Instaglow facial Kit on the other hand worked better for my skin than my mom’s skin. Its gritty exfoliator took care of my stubborn blackheads. Plus the gel, cream and the pack made a perfect trio to cleanse the dullness and impurities off my face. I am happy that I got the multiuser kit because I want to complete 10 consequent facial sessions with it; one in each month. Overall, both are good buys if you can identify your exact need. The Face Shop Real Nature Green Tea Sheet Mask : Review

The Face Shop is very popular among beauties for it’s Korea origin. Korean skin care ranges are popular for their unique ingredients. The Face Shop brings Korean skin care to India at very affordable price. The Green Tea mask from TFS was lying from a long time in my stash. Finally I used it yesterday since I was supposed to attend an event. Last weekend I was out in the sun a lot & their was bit of tanning on my face. I wanted to test out the efficacy of this Green Tea Mask, & hence used it while expecting a tan free face. Read on to know about my experience. Price The face masks from The Face Shop are priced between 120-100. I bought it from Amazon, for 80 bucks few weeks back. Buy here. Ingredients Packaging It is a sheet mask made up of a thin fabric dipped in skin serum. The sheet mask has holes cut in for eyes, nose & lips, but I think they are not really proportionate to Indian bone structure. The sheet mask is packaged folded inside a very attractive sachet showing Green Tea leaves in a plate. How I Used It? Before using a sheet mask/face pack I make sure to scrub my face. Before using this face pack too, I scrubbed my face. Applied rose water as toner (as instructed on the pack to use a toner). The sheet mask is quite thin & dipped in the skin serum. I make sure to take out the sheet mask carefully so that the serum does not drip off the mask. I unfold the sheet mask and try to adjust the holes onto my features. I kept it on my face for half an hour, after which I felt the serum was almost absorbed into my skin. I took the sheet mask off my face after 30 minutes, & massaged the left over skin serum onto my face & neck. Left it to dry without washing my face. There was bit of stickiness until the serum got absorbed totally. Efficacy I was thrilled to see a natural glow on my face without any trace of tan. Yes, my face was completely tan free. I washed my face after few hours with plain water without using a face wash. Went ahead with a moisturizer & party makeup. The evening went bright & beautiful 🙂 Likes Korean skin care at affordable price. Very effective in giving glowing skin with even single use. Removes tan in single use. Easy to carry & use. No burning sensation or irritation noticed. Smells mild & pleasant. Dislikes The sheet mask is not a good fit for Indian facial features. I have used many sheet masks from TFS, and all of them were misfit for my round face. Summary: 5/5 I have used many sheet masks from The Face Shop, and all of them worked really well on my skin. This Green Tea Mask is no exception. It gives clear & glowing skin in no time. The sheet mask is affordable & easy to use too. I am sure you guys must have used a lot of sheet masks from TFS. So she handed over this facial kit to me to test it out for her. I am glad she did. I was suffering from little bit tanning on my face. Nothing major, but I could definitely use a cleanup. Let me walk through the facial kit contents & the process, which helped me get back my natural glow. About Aroma Magic 7 Steps Bridal Glow Facial Aroma Magic 7 step Facial kits is introduced as Salon Range. They are used in Salons mostly but are not limited. We can use them at home at our convenience. The Facial Kits are formulated with unique & natural ingredients to counteract the damage due to environmental pollution & stress leaving skin polished & rejuvenated. Packaging The facial kit comes in a pack of 5 individual kits which again contain 7 steps of the facial regimen. A single facial kit contains: Creamy Face Cleanser Exfol Gel Skin Serum Nourishing Cream Face Pack Hydrating Gel Sunscreen My Experience This is a 7 step facial kit. I shall share my experience with this facial kit step by step as I used the components. Step 1 – Facial Cleanser Ingredients – Natural extracts of Turmeric, Rose, Lemon Peel, pure essential oils of Geranium, Lavendar, Ylang Ylang & Vegetable Waxes. The facial cleanser is the very first content of the facial kit to be used. It is a creamy cleanser. It is supposed to be massaged on to the face for 3 minutes & then wiped off with a wet cotton. I have Normal skin type & the facial cleanser felt really good on my skin type. My face looked clearer since it took care of the dirt & grime off my face. It smells nice & mild. Step 2 – Exfol Gel Ingredients – Extracts of Peppermint, Sage, Cornflower, Fruity acids of Sugarcane and pure essential oils of Peppermint, Orange & Lavender. This is a pinkish thick gel. Although it is named as Exfol Gel, there are no scrubbing particles. It gives cooling sensation since it contains Peppermint. Initially I though it’s just a gel. But instructions says that it is supposed to be kept as a mask for about 10 minutes and then scrubbed off with dry fingers. I somehow missed the instructions & just washed it off without scrubbing it. Later I used a separate scrub. Step 3 – Skin Serum Ingredients – Apricot, Elder Flower, Carrot, Basil Jasmine, Organic Fruit Acid. The serum comes in a glass ampule which is very hard to break and one must be really careful while using & disposing it. The serum is like water and non sticky texture wise. The skin serum is packed with a lot of power packed ingredients. This face serum targets age signs by its lifting & firming action. It rejuvenates skin cells & balances moisture levels. Removes fine lines and keeps skin young & glowing. I applied this serum on my face and neck & left it for 3 minutes. I can not judge it’s firming effect since I am in early 20’s. But it definitely felt good. Step 4 – Nourishing Cream Ingredients – Extracts of Rosemary, Jasmine, Vitamin A,C,E and pure essential oils of Geranium, Vetiver & Peppermint. This is a massage cream packed in the facial kit. Normal to dry skin would really love the consistency & the calming effect on the skin. It is very smooth & velvety to touch. Facial massage helps to boost up blood circulation & imparts glow as a result. My skin’ dryness & flakiness was taken care of by this massage cream. I was really impressed by the natural ingredients that this cream is formulated with. This cream is supposed to be massaged for around 15 minutes before wiping away with wet cotton. Step 5 – Face Pack Ingredients – Organic Fruit Acid, Extracts of Orange peel, Clove and pure essential oils of Neroli, Orange & Petitgrain. This is a creamy AHA face pack. AHA is good to erase age signs. It helps to lighten & brighten skin complexion & promotes healthy glow on face. The face pack is supposed to be mixed & applied with Hydrating Gel that I am going to talk about next. Step 6 – Hydrating Gel Ingredients – Extracts of Seaweed, Lotus , Flax Seed, Aloe Vera and pure pure essential oils of Neroli, Rose & Lavender. This yellowish gel gives a calming effect to the skin. It calms down skin’s irritation & redness due to the presence of Seaweed. It is little difficult to mix the face pack and this hydrating gel but gives a nice consistency upon mixing well. Apply the mixture for about 15 minutes and then wipe of with wet cotton. Step 7 – Sunscreen Ingredients – Extracts of Cucumber, Green Tea, Lemon, Aloe Vera, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Benzaaphenone, Vitamins A,C,E & pure essential oils of Orange Blossom & Lavender. A sunscreen is must after doing a clean up facial be it salon or at home. Hence aroma Magic supplies a specially formulated sunscreen with all it facial kits to protect skin from harmful UVA & UVB sun rays. It is formulated with natural sun blocking agents. The consistency of the white colored sunscreen from this kit is non oily and fast absorbing. It gives matte finish. There is little white cast after using the sunscreen, but is manageable. SPF content of the sunscreen is not mentioned, though. This concludes the facial steps of the Bridal Facial Kit from Aroma Magic. The process is little long. But you definitely enjoy a wonderful clean up at home. Try it sometime. Likes Salon range facial kit for home use. Gives a nice clean up at affordable price. Suitable for Normal to Dry skin. Gives nice glow & takes care of the dead skin & tanning with just first use. Dislikes Too many steps. It is meant to be used for all skin types, but I really doubt it. The facial kit has too many creamy components which might clog oily & acne prone skin. Summary : 4.5/5 For Normal To Dry Skin, Aroma Magic Bridal Facial Kit, is a very good at home clean up facial. It is affordable & gives very nice results with first use. But, I am not satisfied with the gel based scrub. Also, I would not recommend this particular version to oily skins, but Aroma Magic Skin Glow Facial Kit is definitely meant for all skin types. Hope you liked my first piece on High On Gloss.
