Regardless of the style and color, everybody wants healthy strong hair. Some people even pay a good amount of money for various treatments to make sure that their hair grows healthily and beautifully. While hair treatment sometimes costs a fortune, you can try one these inexpensive yet effective home remedies for hair growth.
- Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has been traditionally used as hair conditioner. It basically acts as moisturizer and it strengthens your hair straight from the root, preventing hair loss. The oil is rich in potassium and proteins to promote healthy hair growth and even repair already damaged hair.
Coconut oil has similar qualities as sebum, naturally produced oil by sebaceous glands. When used as either pre-shampoo or post-shampoo treatment, coconut oil helps to reduce protein loss from your hair.
- Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E helps to neutralize free radicals and increase blood circulation in your scalp. You can get vitamin E from consuming fruits and vegetables, but it is also possible to apply vitamin E oil directly to the hair to improve the effect. Vitamin E is essential for both reducing hair loss and promoting hair growth. It is recommended to apply vitamin E oil to the scalp before bedtime and leave the oil overnight.
- Onion Juice
Red onion and shallots are rich in sulfur, which increases collagen tissues production thus it helps in hair re-growth. To take its benefits, simply squeeze either red onions or shallots and take the juice. You may chop the onions into smaller pieces to make it more easily. Apply the juice to your scalp and leave it for about 15 minutes before you wash your hair with mild shampoo.
- Olive Oil
Olive oil is one of the most common essential oils used in hair care products such as conditioner and hair tonic. It contains antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin E, and it can seal moisture in your hair. This essential oil is considered a powerhouse for hair treatment due to its wide range of beneficial effects to remove sebum build-up which may hinder hair growth and new follicles formation.
- Egg Hair Mask
Around 70% every hair is composed of protein. Using egg as a hair mask is a smart idea because egg provides excellent protein treatment. To make this remedy, mix an egg white with a teaspoon of honey and olive oil until you have a smooth mixture. Apply the mixture to your hair and allow it to work for 20 minutes. After the treatment, wash your hair with shampoo.
- Scalp Massages
Another excellent treatment to improve hair growth is scalp massage. Similar to all parts your body, the scalp needs a good blood circulation to grow and strengthen hair. Massaging your scalp in circular motion for at least ten minutes daily helps to promote healthy hair growth. You don’t even have to use any essential oil or conditioner for the massage.
- Aloe Vera
Aloe vera has always been an excellent source of nutrients for hair and skin. When applied properly, this plant can be one of the best home remedies for hair growth. The gel in aloe vera has similar properties to keratin in hair. It makes the gel easily penetrate your hair and provide nourishment from the root to the end. Take an aloe vera leaf and extract the gel from it. Apply the gel to the scalp and leave it for 30 minutes before you wash your hair with warm water.
