Veet Full Body Waxing Kit : Review

Hi Girls.

There had been times when I need to wax my hands/legs but there is no time to run to a salon. Like there is an outing and I have unwanted hair emergency. So I basically mostly have these wax strips at home from Veet. Which I find really helpful in such situations. I don’t use hair removing creams as I have had really bad experience with one of them, a long story, will tell you some other time. So I was saying that I mostly keep few Veet wax strips at home so that any time I have such emergency I could use it. Let me tell you why these are so convenient.

As far I remember Ann French introduced the concept of getting rid of unwanted hair quickly without using a razor. Later Veet came out with similar product. But to me the revolutionary product was the ready made wax strips pack, since I don’t like to use hair removing creams. I prefer waxing.

Veet claims that the strips contain Shea butter and Berries. The wax strips are meant for normal skin. The pack says that the strips are enough for full body waxing.

Wax Strips

The wax strips are enriched with Shea Butter. The strips are about 5.5 inches long so that in one swipe large area could be waxed. A wax strip is made of cold wax sandwiched between two pieces of  fabric.

Perfect Finish Wipe

These wipes are just regular wipes, supposed to be used after waxing session so that any left over wax on the skin is also removed before washing off with water finally.

How To Use

It is very easy to use the ready made wax strips. I follow these steps to find a smooth and hair free skin.

Step 1

Before wax I make sure that my skin is oil free, so I wash it with gentle soap and water. Pat it dry. Also it is mentioned on the pack that hair should be between 2mm-5mm, to avoid any discomfort. In case hair are really long, hair should be trimmed down a bit.

The pack says that the wax strip should be rubbed between palms to melt the wax. But this method never works for me. Light a candle/lighter and swipe across the wax strip. I also sometimes use hot iron to melt the wax strip.

Step 2 

Now I peel the wax strips apart as the wax is in melted state now.

Step 3

Next I apply the peeled strip to the area to be waxed in the direction of the hair growth and gently rub it so that the wax get a hold of the unwanted hair.

Step 4

Now comes the hardest part. I pull the strip back, in the opposite direction of hair growth in a swift motion, otherwise the hair do not come off. I repeat the same process until my skin is hair free.

Step 5

Since the hardest part is over, I gently clean my freshly waxed skin with the provided wipes. These wipes are really effective in taking away any left overs of wax. Not required, but I wash my skin with water later on.

My Views

I feel these ready made strips are really convenient when I do not have time to visit a salon or just feel plain lazy but still need hair free skin. I also considered getting an epilator, but I feel getting skin waxed is more beneficial because it also takes away dead skin and the effects stay for longer.

I am happy with these strips. I have also used the other variants of these strips but never noticed any difference in the efficacy or after effects. My skin looks little red after using these strips but the redness goes away on its own after few minutes.
