I am amused how every personal care brand is launching it’s own range of baby products. But it’s not about a brand’s business, it’s about the health of a precious baby. How does a brand make sure the products are safe and gentle to be used on a baby’s skin. They claim it’s Ayurvedic or it’s natural, but that might be just a claim, how many of us literally go and check each and every ingredient mentioned on a baby product. Recently VLCC introduced it’s baby care range as VLCC Ayurveda Baby Care, but would you trust a newcomer when it comes to the health of our baby? Personally, I have always used Himalaya Baby for my son since he was a baby. Later I switched to MamaEarth. I try to stick to natural brands when it comes to his personal care needs. Now he is 4 years old, and I think his skin has gotten quite habitual of his surroundings, the pollutants, the unintentional chemicals that he is exposed to (we just can’t protect them 100%), and his skin has never gotten any bad reaction or allergy. I tested few VLCC baby products on him, because he was really excited. I am going to share how he liked the products. Will also share my opinion on the products, given that VLCC products have never fared good on my skin. Stay tuned. VLCC Ayurveda Baby Care Products VLCC Ayurveda baby care range consists of 5 products including a massage oil, a head to toe wash, a baby cream, a baby lotion and a diaper cream. The products are claimed to be formulated with natural ingredients. Also they are claimed to be parabene free. The products are said to be based on ayurvedic formula. I will be talking about the products one by one. What Preservatives Are Used In VLCC Ayurveda Baby Care Products? There is no way to give a decent shelf life to products. Every brand uses them. The choice f preservatives determines how safe the products are to be used in general. When it comes to baby products it’s of high importance to use the most safe preservative. Phenoxyethanol : This is one of the preservative used by VLCC Baby Care. This preservative is safe, and non toxic synthetic. But if inhaled it can definitely can cause lung irritation. Ethylhexyl : When used in moderate amounts, it is safe to be used on skin. VLCC Ayurveda Baby Massage Oil The main ingredients of this massage oil are Almond oil, Olive oil & Tulsi. The massage oil also contains clarified Cow’s butter. This massage oil comes in a clear plastic bottle with a white flip top cap. The packaging is sturdy and the oil does not leak. Ingredients as well as the product details are provided at the back of the bottle. The oil has quite herbal smell as Patanjali balm. The smell can actually relieve your baby of nasal congestion if there is any. The oil is quite light in texture, its runny and absorbs fast. My son loves to have bed time massages some time(once in a while actually), and that’s when I use this oil. It’s good in terms of the usability. I really hate to use thick oils as they can actually stain the clothes. Price: VLCC Ayurveda Baby Massage Oil is priced at INR 90 for 100ml. It’s available widely online and offline. A massage oil is something to enhance the bond between a baby and a mother. You can actually use any oil, what matters is the quality time that you two spend with each other. VLCC Ayurveda Baby Head To Toe Wash A baby head to toe wash is very handy. It can be used on scalp and skin of a baby. VLCC Ayurveda baby wash does not contain parabenes (as other VLCC baby products), and this is major plus point for me. I can use products that may contain parabenes on myself, but I will never use them over my son’s skin. The wash comes in an opaque white colored bottle which contains sky blue colored label at the front and a white label at the back stating all the product information. The wash itself is yellow colored, runny and has flower’y and pleasant smell. It lathers well. The only fact that I don’t like about this wash is the fact that it leaves a slippery feeling behind after wining it out with water. Price: VLCC Ayurveda Baby Head To Toe Wash is priced at INR 140 for 100ml. VLCC Ayurveda Baby Cream A baby cream must be thick enough to treat dry skin. But it should spread easily on her skin. VLCC Ayurveda Baby Cream is white in color, creamy and mildly fragmented. I use this cream on my son sometimes when his skin feels very dry. It instantly moisturizes his skin making it soft. It does not feel sticky though and gets absorbed with little bit of massage. Price: The baby cream is available at INR 130 for 100gms. VLCC Ayurveda Baby Lotion VLCC Ayurveda Baby Lotion, is light in consistency than the baby cream. This is everyday lotion that I use for my son. His skin is normal and this lotion is enough for him. It gets absorbed easily and leaves skin happy. Price:The lotion is available for INR 85 for 100ml VLCC Ayurveda Baby Diaper Cream This is a thick cream which is supposed to be used as a diaper cream. A diaper cream must keep the diaper area nourished and protective so that the baby does not get rashes. My son is above diapering age so I could not test it on him. But I actually applied it on my under arm when I got a rash while working out. It definitely healed it in no time. Price: THe diaper cream is priced at INR 165 for 100gm. The USPs Of VLCC Ayurveda Baby Products The Ayurvedic formulation of VLCC Baby products make them very effective and safe to be used on babies. The products are free of harmful chemicals, parabenes, phthalates, SLS. Every product offers quality and ease of use. The product packaging is good and travel friendly. The range is affordable. The range is available widely & easily I feel VLCC Ayurveda Baby Care Range is actually a good range. It’s effective, ayurvedic & affordable. VLCC never suited my skin, but VLCC baby care is definitely better. I would recommend using this range. — Nisha

Guest Post By Sreeparna Pampering facials at home are my favorite once-a-month ‘metime’ treat. This way I can save a lot of money and time plus I don’t need to worry about the quality of the product because I am choosing the products myself. When it comes to home facials, VLCC is the name that comes in my mind first. I have tried many of their facial kits and they have presented me with good results. In today’s post I am going to compare two of VLCC’s facial kits; the Gold Facial Kit and the Salon Series Insta Glow Facial Kit. I would compare the results these two gave to my skin and my mom’s skin. Without further ado, let’s dig in to find out if they worked on us or not. VLCC Gold Facial Kit Price Rs 250 for 60gm (single user kit) . Buy here. Gold Facial Kit by VLCC is a 6-step sachet facial kit that promises to make a golden enigma out of you! This metal based kit is a recent re-launch by VLCC. It used to be a 4 step kit earlier; the brand has now included a pre-facial cleanser and a post-facial moisturizer to make it a complete skin treatment. The kit I have is a single user kit but the amount provided is enough for doing two facials. Here are some details regarding each item in the Gold kit. Pre-facial Comfrey Cleanser cum Toner: This is basically a cleansing milk kind of product. It looks pure white and the consistency is medium to runny. It has mild floral fragrance. This product is able to remove every tress of dirt and makeup (waterproof too!) gently. Gold Scrub: This scrub is very mild and the granules are small. It contains fine shimmery particles resembling of gold. This kind of exfoliator works best on people who do not have blackheads. That is why it worked on my mom but could not show that much difference on me. Gold Gel: This is a lightweight gel that gets absorbed into the skin and hydrates from within. This gel gives a nice shine to the face. Gold Cream: It is an off-white cream with good spreading ability. It gives the perfect slip to massage the face. It is quite moisturizing but the thickness is not very heavy. Gold Peel Off Mask: It is a yellow colored gum based peel off mask with floral fragrance. This product spreads nicely on the skin and dries evenly. This product gives instant glow and does not strip off moisture balance of the skin. Post-facial Oil Free Moisturizing Gel SPF 15 PA+: It is a yellowish gel with medium thickness provided to maintain what is done on the face through the Gold facial. It moisturizes face without making the skin oily. VLCC provides enough amount of gel that can be used for at least 7-8 times. VLCC Salon Series Insta Glow Facial Kit Price Rs 530 for 200gm+10ml (multi user kit) . Buy here. VLCC Insta Glow Facial Kit is a 5-step facial kit to bring a quick radiance to your dull skin. Products included in this kit are mostly enriched with active herbal ingredients making the kit good for every skin type and every age. Like the Gold facial kit this one is also sachet based. I have got the multi use kit which VLCC calls Salon Series kit. My kit has 6 sachets per item and a small facial serum bottle. Here are the mini-reviews for each item. Indian Berberry Face Scrub: Enriched with dates and papaya this defoliator helps to cleanse the skin deeply. The scrub beads of it are uniform and medium in size. They give you cleansed skin without being harsh on skin. Though it has a creamy base, it do not leave creamy residue afterwards. The smell is nice too. Saffron Massage Gel: This medium thick gel is faint reddish purple in colour has a distinct saffron smell. Its consistency feels just perfect for massaging my skin for 5-6 minutes with wet hands. Snigdha Face Cream: This is a good floral-scented massage cream that has medium to heavy moisturizing power. Revital Skin Whitening Serum: This serum is a light-yellow oil-like product which is very light on skin. If you apply 2 drops of it alone in your cleansed skin it will get absorbed completely. It too has a floral fragrance but the intensity is very low. I generally mix it with the massage cream to get better slip. When my skin feels very dehydrated I mix 2 drops of it to the face pack also. It helps to retain the moisture to my skin. Insta Glow Face Pack: This is a clay based face pack but has sufficient creaminess that makes it useful for every types of skin. It does not dry completely. This product helps me to calm down my face after heavy massaging and deep exfoliation. It has a typical relaxing ayurvedic smell. Overall Result: This Gold facial kit suited my mom’s oily mature skin better than me. It gave her a nice sheen that I see on her face after facial session at a salon. I am absolutely repurchasing this one for my mom. Though it did not irritate my acne-prone skin, it failed to work on my blackheads. The Instaglow facial Kit on the other hand worked better for my skin than my mom’s skin. Its gritty exfoliator took care of my stubborn blackheads. Plus the gel, cream and the pack made a perfect trio to cleanse the dullness and impurities off my face. I am happy that I got the multiuser kit because I want to complete 10 consequent facial sessions with it; one in each month. Overall, both are good buys if you can identify your exact need. So, my suggestion would be, Gold Facial Kit to bring shine to the face and Instaglow Kit for deep cleansing. VLCC Gold Facial Kit VS VLCC Instaglow Facial Kit SUMMARY Gold Facial Kit Instaglow Facial Kit Suitable For All skin types All skin types Availability Easy Easy Number of Steps 6 5 Frequency Once a month Once a month Effect Glowing skin Cleansed skin Causes Pimple No No Dehydrates Skin No No Have a powerful Monday.

Hi, Today I am going to talk about VLCC Enchanting Eyes Kajal in Black. Frankly, I do not buy much products from VLCC due to a very bad experience that I had few years ago. I bought VLCC Fruit Facial Kit which left me with horrible cystic acne which took months to clear out. After that horrendous experience, I never really bought any skin care product from VLCC. Few weeks back, my eyes, really stuck on the kajal form VLCC. I was like, okay, it’s not a skin care product, I can try it out, since I have already tested so many kajals from other brands like Lakme, Lotus, Loreal, Maybelline, Soiul tree, Faces etc. To put it’s review here on HOG, I bought it. Let me tell you what I feel about this kajal stick, which is affordable, easily available & usable to start with. About VLCC Enchanting Eyes Kajal VLCC promises, what you expect from a decent kajal. Intense black, smudge free, water proff & dermatoligically tested formula. You can acheive your daily look with this kajal or can go winged eyeliner or smokey eyes with few strokes of this black beauty. Price Rs. 199 for 0.3g. Buy here. Ingredients Packaging It comes enclosed in an very informative packaging. The outer packaging disguises of a girl with beautiful big eyes layered with eyeshadows & flaunting bold lips. At the back of the outer packaging, multiple eye looks have been printed which could be achieved using VLCC Enchanting Eyes. Ingredient list of the kajal is also provided at the back. The kajal comes in a retractable pencil form, so it is very easy to use & I think is quite practical packaging for a kajal. The kajal pencil is black colored with black long cap on it. VLCC Enchanting Eyes is printed on the kajal pencil. Texture & Smell The texture of the kajal is very smooth, so smooth that I have to be very careful while using it to avoid any breakage. I actually broke it’s tip, the very first time I used this kajal. After that I have been very careful. The kajal tip was pointed when I bought it, but kajal sticks does not stay very pointy when you use them. I can not really draw a winged eyeliner with this, but it delivers smooth application to my water line. The kajal is devoid of any kind of smell. Pigmentation The pigmentation of the kajal is very nice. One swipe gives very good color pay off. There is practically no tugging or pressure is required to achieve heavily kohl-ed eyes. I tried smudging it to test it’s smudge proof claim. I was able to smudge it initially but on my eyes it stayed intact when I follow these steps to apply kajal. Finish The finish of the kajal is matte & intense. It provides jet black color to eyes. I also line my upper lid with this kajal & it works perfectly. I have tried to achieve the smokey eye look too with this kajal, it was okay in that department. One must be swift to achieve the smokey look with this kajal. Though it fails to deliver nice winged lines, sine it lacks a pointed tip. Longevity Whenever I know I need it too stay for an entire day, I follow proper steps to wear a kajal. Those days, the jakahl stays intact and does not go anywhere, otherwise, it stays for 4-5 hours before started getting to deposit under my eyes which intensifies my dark circles. Likes Nice creamy formula. Gives smooth application. Intense color pay off. Jet black color. Stays for long on water line. No allergies noticed. Dislike The tip does not stay pointy once used. Summary: 4.5/5 VLCC Enchanting Eyes Kajal is a decent buy as it delivers nice black colour at affordable price which stays for long hours. The creamy formula ensures smooth application. Hope you liked the review. Let me know if you have used this kajal? Do you wonder, how to keep you kajal intact for an entire day? Read this. Love.

A Lip Balm is a must have be it winter or summer, because lips have very think layer and no oil glands. So either you hydrate yourself very well by drinking water or use a lip balm. Market is full of lip balms, with different moisturisation levels. I know every body is smitten by Maybelline Baby Lips, but there are still some decent lip balms which perform well and are affordable. VLCC Lovable Lips is such a range out there, I quite liked the packaging and got my self the Rose version. Let me tell you what I feel about it. About VLCC Lovable Lips Rose A Rose lip balm infused with the goodness of Jojoba Oil that dresses and caresses your pout in one sweep to make it luscious, lovely and lovable. Jojoba oil is one of the richest natural conditioners that the tropical forests have to offer. It has numerous beauty benefits and is perhaps the best known plant based lip hydrator and soother. Jojoba oil heals chapped lips and seeps in to restore moisture and texture from within leading to smooth and supple lips. With Vitamin E, nourishing Almond oil and SPF, VLCC brings to you a range of sun range pout perfectors in many pretty hues. Enriched with Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil and Vitamin E Hue of Colour Glossy Shine With SPF 15 Price Rs. 125 for 4.5g. Buy from Amazon.in at discounted price. Ingredients Packaging This particular lip balm in a mauve coloured screw-in tube with transparent over cap. The tubes are color coded according to the -flavour/shade. The lip balm comes in a convenient packaging. It is easy to carry and apply. The transparent lid also let you know the colour of the lip balm in case you own many from the range. Shades Rose, Strawberry, Peach, Orange, Almond, Honey, Cherry, Mango. I got Rose for my self. It gives mauve/purple tint. Taste, Texture & Smell The texture of the lip balm is as expected, creamy. It glides on the lips very smoothly. The smell is not what I expected. I expected it to smell like roses, but it does not, it actually smells more like scented sticks 🙁 . Also it has little weird taste, which is really undesired from a lip balm. If I have to define the taste, I would say it has little soapy taste. My Experience I have been very loyal to Maybelline Baby Lips from last few years. It is highly moisturising and gives good colour too. Still I can’t keep my ogling eyes from checking out other lip balms. For example, I liked the fresh packaging of VLCC Lovable Lips, and I bought it. Frankly I liked the title of the product, “Lovable Lips”, quite catchy huh? I also like the rich creamy texture of this lip balm. Just one swipe across my lips, and my lips are moisturised. I do not need to use the lip balm for at least next 5-6 hours. The lip balm wears off with meals but the moisture stays on my lips for the entire day. It heals my dry lips in just one application. It is a tinted lip balm and delivers purple colour initially. The colour pay off is as good as a sheer lipstick. Even when the colour wears off, it leaves my lips tinted as natural pink. I just love that colour on my lips. Now coming to the bad part, I do not like the taste of this lip balm. It literally tastes little soapy for few minutes when you apply it. I feel a lip balm should be taste less or at least should not taste bad. Likes Rich creamy texture. Contains goodness of Jojoba oil, Almond oil & Vitamin E. Contains Sun Protection Factor (SPF 15). One swipe gives moisture & colour to lips Lips stay moisturised for really long hours. Convenient packaging. Very affordable. Easily available. Vast range to choose the shade. Contains SPF 15 No waxy feeling on lips. Dislikes Tastes little soapy initially. Does not smell like roses. What’s the point in naming it “Rose”? Summary : 4/5 VLCC Lovable Lips Lip Balm are high in moisturisation and colour. They can heal dry lips instantly, giving smooth and supple lips. The range also contain the goodness of Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil & Vitamin E , and SPF to provide some sun protection. Also check out Maybelline Baby Lips Vs. Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm Pure Shea Butter by Karite-Buerre As My HG Lip Balm Enjoy Your Sunday Ladies 🙂 XOXO
