I feel a mascara is an amazing invention. Just this one product can make your eyes talking. Most of the women would choose a mascara if they are asked to choose one makeup product they cannot survive without. Even if you have naturally thick eyelashes you still love the dramatic effect a mascara gives to your eyes. That’s what I use a mascara for. Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara is from my birthday haul. My Maybelline Volume Express Falsies Washable was getting over and I was thinking to get a water proof mascara this time, but my fickle mind. I again settled for a washable one. But I do not regret getting another washable mascara because I kind of find it a nuisance to get rid of wash proof mascaras without loosing some of my lashes in the process. I like to dress up specially in this festive occasion and this beautiful tube of mascara accompanies me every single time. Does that give you an idea how much I have been liking it? So let me make you walk through the more details of Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara in Extreme Black. Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara creates the magic you seek. It is a lash multiplying & hence volume enhancing mascara. The non clumpy Extreme Volume formula creates extreme volume for those dramatic pair of eyes. It gives a lift to the lashes & curves them perfectly. Eyes look brighter, wider & more seductive. Price & Availability It does not just mean Sumptuous but it is expensive for a mascara… We can’t complain since it’s from Estee Lauder. In Indian market it is available anywhere between 2000-2500 INR for 2.8 ml. You can find it our Nykaa as well as some international shopping websites such as Strawberry. Offline it is available at the Estee Lauder counters. Packaging The piece I have got comes in a conventional black tube with a beautiful gold long cap cum applicator. Estee Lauder logo, mascara name, and other details are printed over the black tube in gold. It gives the tube a very luxe feeling. The tube is really small you can hide it in the palm of your hand. The applicator brush of the mascara if coarse and literally gives a nice combing effect to lashes while coating them effectively. Shades 01 Extreme Black 02 Brown I got Extreme Black which is utterly black and shows on eye lashes very beautifully. My Experience With Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara A black mascara is like a basic necessity. If you use one, then only you realize what difference it can make instantly to your eyes. You an skip kajal if you are using mascara as kajal. I am sure Indians have craze for kajal too but no one can deny the importance of a mascara we have in our life.. errr.. on eyes. Coming to Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara, it is nicely pigmented. Has great non clumping formula which coats eye lashes beautifully & effortlessly. Even though I have small eyes, but my lashes are naturally curved and hence it works perfectly in shaping them more curvy while enhancing the volume. I also like the fact that the formula does not chip off after wearing it for hours. It can last all day long if I do not wash my face. It is easy to take off the mascara. A normal face wash can take it off completely. But I would suggest to rather dissolve it using almond oil or oil based makeup remover to prevent drying off the eye area. Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara in Extreme Black is a luxurious way to treat your eye lashes. It lifts eye lashes while giving nice volume. The non clumpy formula is quick dry too. The luxe packaging catches your eyes but will surely burn a hole a in your pocket. That was all about this beautiful mascara from Estee LAuder. There is one more thing that I like from Estee Lauder, it’s Double Wear Foundation which is another popular product from the brand. It’s been a while since I did a pout post err.. I mean a lipstick post. So here I am back with a review of a lipstick from Maybelline ColorShow range, which is a great hit due to it’s formula & color range. I am going to talk about a shade Cream Caramel 306 which I thought would be a brownish but is rather a fellow from red family. Brands often come with such misleading name I tell you. Another red goes into my kitty. When I got this particular lipstick, I actually went to have a look at the newly launched nude shades from Maybelline. But somehow I ended up buying another ColorShow lipstick. About Maybelline ColorShow Intense Fashionable Lipcolor You will love this creamy formula with intense color that too in a wide range. The lipsticks contain ultra hydrating formula while giving a satin finish to your lips. The formula is so intense that the color does not fade away even in humid conditions. Maybelline promises that all the shades will suit Indian skin tones. Price Used to retail at Rs. 299, but now you can buy these bullets at highly discounted price. Buy here. Ingredients Ingredients list come on the outer transparent wrap of the lipstick but it is not really readable easily. Packaging It comes in black bullet with a color coded band at the mid to recognize the color family. The packaging is sturdy and classic. I quite like it. Texture & Smell The lipstick is very creamy. The formula is highly hydrating for sure. The lipsticks glide on lips very easily giving intense colour. The lipstick also contain some very fine shimmer which are not visible upon application. Maybe the glossiness of the lipstick can be attributed to the fine shimmer present in the lipstick. There is a very mild and chocolaty sweet smell present in the lipstick. The fragrance is very faint so you will notice the smell only you put efforts to. Shade – Cream Caramel 306 I associate Caramel to brown, so when I read the shade name, I thought it might be some nude shade which it is not. Caramel should lean more towards brown, while this shade leans more towards Red. Sometimes it looks subtle Coral while sometimes it looks Peachy. However, it suits my wheatish skin tone. The shade contains fine shimmers and hence sheen can be noticed on the lips after wearing it. The formula is intense in hydration as well as pigmentation. Pigmentation I have noticed the pigmentation of this range is impressive. I have used few lipsticks from this range all of the have fared well on the pigmentation front. Longevity This lipstick lasts for 3-4 hours only. I am left with a reddish tint afterwords. That is quite expected from a creamy lipstick. Finish The finish of the lipstick is little is satin smooth, which can be toned down by blotting. There are very fine shimmers in the formula which gives nice sheen to the lips. When the glossiness goes away, the shimmer particles are more visible on lips. Likes Creamy texture. Satin finish. Impressive pigmentation. Peachy-coral shade. The shade will suit all Indian skin tones. Affordable & easily available. Sturdy packaging. The range has a wide verity of shades. Dislikes Misleading name. Some might not like the ultra shiny formula. The shimmer particles become more obvious after a hour or so. Summary The creamy texture & satin finish is impressive while being at affordable price. Lasts for about 3-4 hours depending on your lips activity. I think one can go for many shades from this range. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation – 128 Warm Nude, 230 Natural Buff, 310 Sun Beige : Swatches & Review

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation – 128 Warm Nude, 230 Natural Buff, 310 Sun Beige Today, I wanted to talk about how on a period of time I hoarded 4 foundations from Maybelline Fit Me + Pore less range. Yes, 4. Out of which 2 are 310 Sun Beige. My very first Maybelline Fit Me foundation (reviewed here), was a gift from my sister since back then the fit me range had not been launched in India. I loved the texture and the finish it gave, but, the shade was dark on my light-medium wheatish skin tone. I gave it away to some one close. When the fit me range came to India, I went to a physical store by myself, and some how I still got another 310 Sun Beige since I didn’t remember that the previous shade was also 310. Such a bummer. I got another orangish shade. After 2 months I started hunting for the perfect shade again. This time I went through a lot of online swatches and zeroed on 230, Natural Buff, because it was the next shade from 310. To my disbelief, 230 Natural Buff & 310 Sun beige are just the same, exactly the same. I can’t tell any difference by seeing the bottle or after wearing it on my face. What the hell? Last Saturday, I made my last attempt to find a shade closer to my skin tone, see how optimistic I am. There I found 128 Warm Nude, which looked yellowish but brighter than 310 & 230. I asked the SA to swatch it on my hand. She did, it felt little lighter than my skin tone. I still got it. Why I got the 4th bottle? Frankly, by now, I have gotten little fed up and bored with the fit me range, some how it’s not working that well in winter, as it used to work on me during summer. The only way I use the already bought dark shade bottles is to mix them with light shade. I got no 128 warm nude, which is the lightest shade with yellow undertones. I hope mixing the dark and light shades would give me the exact shade that I desire. By now I have tried mixing 128 & 310 just once, but I was not impressed since the ratio was 3:1, it still came out little white-ish . Next time I will try an equal amount of both the foundations. I hope it works out better. I feel the Fit Me Liquid Foundation range from Maybelline is just like MAC foundations, it gives the perfect finish & coverage but the shades are techy. You must find your own shade or mix and match if you fail to find your shade in this range. I will update this post in case I made the wrong shades to work for me somehow. Good Morning. Finally Saturday. Smell of Coziness. This is going to be a great day, I tell you. There is a lot of stuff lying around from my fab bag subscriptions. You know Fab Bag… right? FabBag.com started luxury product sampling about 2 years back in India. It is still rocking. It provides sample of luxurious brands or the brands that are not available in India otherwise. In case we like some product sample, we can order full size product from Fab Bag. Sometimes we receive full size products too as a bonus. This is a great idea to get familiar with new brands and test them out for your needs. I quite liked it. But sometimes, the products are duds. I received Geri G. Innocent Foundation in one of my Fab Bag Subscription. Let me tell you, how it fared on me. About Geri G. Innocent Foundation With Nanomarine-5 Complex Light and nourishing to the skin, Geri G.’s exclusive water based formula combines moisturizing benefits with radiant pigments that help conceal imperfections and illuminates the complexion. Light & Medium.I got this foundation in Medium. This has yellow undertones and suits my medium fair-wheatish skin. Packaging Comes in a see through plastic bottle with white pump and silver cap. The packaging is classy, sturdy & travel friendly. Texture & Smell The texture of the foundation is velvety smooth. Goes on skin very smoothly. The smell is mild and pleasant. My Views It claims to be containing antioxidants, omega 3’s & Nanomarine-5 Complex. All these ingredients are supposed to be working as anti ageing agents. So it sounds really good, but of course I can’t test this claim. It is water based, which makes it suitable for all skin types even for oily skin. Glides on skin smoothly. The shade medium goes fine with my wheatish skin tone. It does not look like I am wearing anything. Gives quite natural finish. The coverage is sheer if you apply just one layer. It just evens out skin. I have tried applying another layer. The coverage builds up little bit, but is not able to hide my acne scars. It would be perfect for someone who has clear skin. It never broke me out or irritated my skin. I did not ever find any dry patches after wearing this foundation even when I skipped wearing a moisturiser to test its moisturisation claims. It didn’t even made my skin feel oily. It has just the perfect formulation. The finish is sheer and glowy. Matte finish can be attained by applying compact or translucent powder over it. I have never worn it for an entire day, since it does not serve the purpose of a foundation to me due to the wrong shade and lack of coverage factor. I have always worn it for few hours to just test it. Except the coverage, I didn’t find any issue with this foundation. The pump disposes off a pea size of the product, enough for one application. Foundations that comes with pumps are really convenient to use. Likes Moisturising Formulation. Water based. Does not accentuate dry patches. Suitable for all skin types. Gave no breakout. Contains anti-oxidants & omega-3’s. Perfect for illuminating and sheer coverage. Layering up the foundation does not look cakey. Comes with a pump. Travel friendly packaging. Dislikes No coverage at all. Even multiple layers does not provide much coverage. Pricey. Summary : 3/5 This foundation is for those lucky people who does not need much coverage but only illuminating and moisturising benefits. It is pricey for a foundation which provide no coverage. Cannot test the anti ageing effects of the foundation. I have deep set eyes. I generally use Maybelline Gel Liner on my water line and eye lids. But out of habit, I could not strain myself from getting L’Oreal Paris Kajal Magique in Black. Let me tell you how badly it failed on me. L’Oreal Paris Kajal Magique Black ULTIMATE BLACK: 25% more concentrated in black pigments, each stroke glides effortlessly to deliver a vivid black line. MORE EXTRAORDINARY CARE: Its formula contains 2X more Vitamin E* and is gentle on the eye. MORE EXTRAORDINARY CARE: Its formula contains 2X more Vitamin E* and is gentle on the eye. BOLD RESULT: Create an intense line with one or two strokes on the waterline. Complete your bold look by adding a thick line on the upper lid Extreme Hold: 14H Smudge-Proof. Water-Proof. Non Transfer. Ophthalmologically Tested. Suitable For Contact Lens Price Rs. 275 for 0.35g, but available at huge discount at Amazon.in. Packaging Comes in a black screw in pencil with hot pink highlights. Shade Black Texture & Smell The texture of the kajal is very creamy so that it glides on eyes very smoothly without any tugging. Smell is almost non-existent. My Views Since the texture of the kajal is very creamy, it goes on eye lids very easily. The tip of the kajal is quite soft too, so it just breaks off sometimes. I mostly wear an eye cream. When I apply it after wearing an eye cream, the colour does not come as good as expected. I need to swipe the kajal pencil 3-4 times to get the intense look. I don’t know why it is claimed to be smudge proof, it does not last on my water line even for even 2 hours. I get raccoon eyes if I wear this on my water line. If I wear it alone on eye lids, the kajal still manage to get deposit under my deep set eyes somehow. The quantity of this kajal lasts really long. It does not need to be sharpened & the packaging is travel friendly. Likes Creamy texture. Pigmentation is decent and can be built to intensify the look. Sleek & attractive packaging. Affordable. Easily available. Does not irritate eyes when worn on water line. Dislikes It smudges The kajal does not last much on my water line. Sometimes, the tip breaks off while applying. Summary : 1/5 The pigmentation is decent but that’s the only thing I like about it. It smudges very badly. It is affordable but there is no point in affording it if it cannot perform. They deliver nice products with comparable performance with that of the high brands at so much cheaper rates. You just need to lean to them and embrace them without shying of the cheap tag. Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color Put on Color Essence Mesmerizing Lip Color to look pretty in an instant. Packaging These lipsticks come in a black sleek packaging. I quite like the packaging. But you can’t make out the colour of the lipstick until you look at the bottom where the shade is mentioned. Finish They finish is little creamy. And hence these lippies transfer while you drink or eat. Staying Power Since these are creamy lipsticks they don’t stay for long. Nude Suede lasts for maximum 2 hours while Forever Rose lasts for 3-4 hours and leaves a tint behind. Shade Description Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color in Nude Suede This is a nude shade, and I just love this color. This particular lipstick contains very fine shimmer. Not much visible on lips though. Buy from here. Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color in Forever Rose This is a bright pink (my kind of pink) colour. It instantly brighten up my face even on a dull day. This lipstick is quite pigmented since it’s bright colour. Buy from here. Summary : 3.5/5 Not all shades are equally pigmented and stay on your lips, but these are quite a bargain for the price you pay. Bright colors from this range are more pigmented and stay longer than the dull colors. Choose accordingly. I have found Blue Heaven Lipsticks perform better and are cheaper. The beautiful packaging, the colours & the impact, they are so irresistible. Today I am going to review a liner from Maybelline. The Colossal Liner from Maybelline, is a jet black liner which is promising a lot, let’s see if it was able to keep all it’s promises. Maybelline The Colossal Liner in Black Maybelline Colossal Eyeliner comes with a 0.4 mm Flexi Tip Applicator which enables error-free and quick application. It’s empowered with Ink-pigment technology providing stunning, defining lines as well as intense colour. A definite must have in your make-up kit, get your inner Cleopatra out with Maybelline’s Colossal Liner. Its smudge-free, quick-dry formula ensures long-lasting bold application. Fade-proof Lasts 12-hours long Price: Rs. 425 for 1.2 grams. Availability: Available offline as well as on leading online website. Get it on amazon on discounted price. Packaging: Pen Liner. This is the most loved packaging. Its easy to carry around and apply. The applicator tip is pointy & very thin so that you can get desired thickness. Shade: Black, actually jet black. Texture & Smell: As I mentioned it’s a pen eye liner, hence the texture is liquid but not runny. It dries up as quickly as you apply it. Smell is almost non- existent. Pigmentation: Pigmentation is really good. It gives you the blackest color in just one swipe. You can intensify the colour or thickness of the liner by applying multiple swipes. Finish: It gives little glossy finish. Not entirely glossy just a little. Staying Power: It is not waterproof as this liner. But stays until, you take it off. The intensity too does not fade away. Make sure you use an oil based eye makeup remover to completely take it off your eyes. Likes: Easy to apply and carry. Attractive & travel friendly packaging Gives the blackest black. Pigmentation & staying power are impressive. Little glossy finish. The applicator tip gives you precise control over the thickness of the liner. Achieve multiple looks with single liner quickly. Dislikes: Little Pricey. Not waterproof. It might be just my product, but I think, sometimes the product gets stuck. Summary: The price is little on higher side, but other than that it’s a great liner to get that bold look.
