An Indian girl adores her kohl, the jet black kohl. The one thing that she won’t leave her home without. A simple pencil can make so much difference in one’s appearance. Then how important is it to choose just the right, smudge free & the blackest kajal? It’s very important, no doubt. To help you make the right choice, I am going to talk about a wonderful brand and one of its wonderful product today, which happens to be a chemical free kajal – Plum Angel Eyes Kohl Kajal. Excited? Me too. It’s actually a wonderful kajal stick that comes with a smudger. Real handy, I know! So let’s dig into the details straight away. Plum Angel Eyes Kohl Kajal Plum offers a 100% natural 7 mineral pigmented kajal with a smudger to give you perfect kohled and smokey looks. The kajal is jet black offering high pigmentation while being free of dyes, preservatives & other chemicals. The kajal is enriched with jojoba oil, macadamia oil and soothing chamomile extracts to suit sensitive eyes while gliding smoothly on your eyes with it’s creamy & soft formula. Price Rs. 425 . Buy here at discounted price. Also Read : How To Wear Smudge Proof Kajal Elle 18 Vs Himalaya Herbals Kajal VLCC Enchanting Eyes Kajal LOreal Paris Kajal Magique Black Packaging The kajal comes in a sharpable and dual ended white pencil form, made with 100% wood. At one end there is a pointy color pigment (kohl) while at the other end, a nice smudger is fixed. The kohl end is covered with an opaque white cap while the smudger end is covered with a transparent plastic cap. The pencil is easy to carry & convenient to use. Plum logo and some information regarding the kajal has been printed in purple color. There is a black band just before the smudger end to indicate the color of the kajal. I actually got the Plum Angel Eyes Kohl Kajal in a combo offer with Plum Nature Studio All day Wear Kohl Kajal, hence got a sharpner as well as nice compact mirror with the deal from amazon. That deal is over now but, another deal is still running on Amazon. It offers a free bag & a sharpner with the kajals. Shade – True Black The color is beautiful black. It’s not matte but does not ultra glossy. Once smudged, the shine goes away. Fragrance & Texture As such, while applying the kajal, I do not smell anything out of it. Only if I really hard to smell the pencil, then there is a very faint sweet smell. it’s very mild. Texture wise, it is very smooth despite of not being ultra creamy. I actually like the fact that it is not ultra creamy since, the ultra creamy ones keep on breaking off every now and then. It does not break off and still glides on my water line & lash line very easily without hurting my eyes. Pigmentation It is a highly pigmented kajal. I really like the intense color pay off it gives. One swipe makes the difference. 2 swipes & that’s all you will ever want. Finish Initially if you are not using the smudger thing, your eyes will have a bit of intensity & shine, but if you opt for more subtle look or smokey eyes, you will get matte and rugged-in look. The texture of the kajal makes it easy to blend the color for a nice black hue. Longevity Plum Angel Eyes Kohl Kajal does not smudge once set for 4-5 hours. I swipe the smudger once or twice on my water line, or use a layer of powder to ensure the kajal stays smudge free for long hours. You can wear it for 4-5 hours in a row even if you have not used the smudger. But after that you might find bits of the kajal under your eye area nothing major though. Likes 100% Natural & free of dyes, preservative & chemicals. Nice black shade. Smooth texture. Contains Jojoba Oil, Macadamia oil and soothing Chamomile extracts, The smudger is very handy to ensure smudge free look (ironic, I know) Quality product. Does not irritate my eyes. Stays intact for 4-5 hours. Can be used as a simple kajal as well as to achieve smokey eyes. Affordable for the quality it offers. Plum offers Vegan products & does not believe in testing on animals. Dislikes It has to be sharpen. Summary: 5/5 Totally heart Plum Angel Eyes Kohl Kajal. I love the smooth texture, the intense color pay off , the price & the smudger attached at the end. It is one fabulous grab. On top of all, it is free of chemicals & safe to be used as a kajal, a liner or to achieve smokey eyes look. Such a multi purpose product. I am sure you, the kajal lover, must have got this. Tell me your experience. Don’t you love it? XOXO….

It’s been long since I write something under #thebasicsseries. Today I am going to talk about the very basic thing that we girls like, putting on a kajal. Some of us put only kajal in the name of makeup(nothing wrong with that too). Most of us have even mastered the art of winged eyeliners by now, but flaunting a sharp and smudge free kajal all day long is another thing. The most basic question how do I stop my kajal from getting smudged, stays answered. Even I have been through this. I have deep set of eyes which gives me permanent hollows around my eyes. Kajal used to give me raccoon eyes in a matter of just 2 hours at max. But not anymore. I do not fear of raccoon eyes. Now I know what it takes to wear a kajal like a pro. Most of the kohls come with smudge free claim but not every kajal gives 100% smudge free look. Here are my 2 cents on wearing a kajal perfectly. Clean You Face No makeup can go flawlessly if you have got layers of oil and dirt on your face. Even if you are only going to wear it is important to make sure your under eye area is free of oil & dirt. The oil & dirt under your eyes will interfere with the application and performance of your kajal. After cleansing your face carry on with the basic steps of toning & moisturizing. If you wear an eye cream, do not skip wearing it but make it absorbed fully before picking up your favorite kajal in your hand. Use Little Powder Unless you apply a primer under your eyes( which I think is debatable), you can dab little translucent or compact powder under your eyes and upon your eye lids if you are going for a heavy eye makeup look. Do not swipe or rub the powder but just dab it over your skin. This will mattify your under eye area and you will get a superb finish. Apply The Kajal Yes you can go ahead with the kajal application now. Start from the inner rim til the outer corner of your eye. Repeat unless you get the desired pigmentation. This is the general rule of applying a kajal. One must apply kajal suiting to eye shape. For example I have very small eyes, I generally apply half kajal, starting from the outer corner to the center of my eye in conjunction with a white kajal on my water line to give an illusion of wide eyes.We will discuss about this in detail in some other post. Use A Dash Of Eyeshadow Now this is an important step in the direction to prevent kajal from smudging. Use a basic black or grey eyeshadow powder to coat your kajal precisely. In order to prevent any fallout on you under eye area, you can put a tissue before proceeding with this step. You can go with a light coating to give a clean kajal look, or can go heavy coating giving a smokey eye look. Use Earbuds/Q-Tip To set the kajal or achieve a smokey look gently swipe an ear bud/q-tip over the kajal. This will ensure a long stay of your kajal keeping it intact and in place for all day long. All will take away if excess of kajal has been applied. Kajal/Kohl Or Gel Liner? Gel liners are so in from past few years. They have almost replaced conventional kajal sticks for the kajal lovers. I have been a fan of Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner from many years. I actually stopped buying kajals during those years since the gel liner gave such a precise application and finish while being smudge free. But when I tested SUGAR Kohl, my love for the classic kajal pencil returned and this is what I have been using every now and then. Gel liners are easy to apply because they are high in consistency & pigmentation hence do not smudge upto 99%. You can just apply it and forget. There are even coloured liners available to flatter every eye colour. But the gel liners can be applied with a brush only, so it takes few applications before you get a perfect application. The beauty of these gel liners is that these are safe to be used on waterline as well as you can flaunt them on eye lid also. If you like to use a kajal only make sure to get a good quality kajal. Your eyes are precious and a cheap quality product can be harmful to your eyes. But it does not mean that high end products are your only options. There are so many kajals available for 200-500 bucks which certainly won’t burn a hole in your pocket. Poured all what I know about kohl application. Hope you liked this article.

Now this is some really heavy duty kohl or kajal as you may like to call it. I received it back in my January’s Fab Bag. Since then I have been using it. Whenever I feel like putting on some kajal I reach for this kohl. SUGAR is a new brand but have always impressed me with it’s products except the Lash Mob Mascara, that was not something I would rave about. I love it’s Liquid Lipsticks and the matte ones too. Every thing is just so perfectly & insanely pigmented and lasts long. Let me tell you why I skip my HG liner for years to wear this kohl. About SUGAR Stroke Of Genius Heavy Duty Kohl This is one of the most pigmented, creamy & smooth kohl I have ever used. SUGAR really nailed it this time. It gives the perfect black colour with just one swipe. SUGAR claims the formula to be wax based & waterproof hence no tugging rubbing or smudging for long hours. Price Rs. 499. Buy here. Ingredients Iron Oxides, Black 2, Mica, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Dimethicone, Synthetic Wax, Silica, Stearyl Dimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Trimethylsiloxysilicate/Dimethiconol Crosspolymer, Octadecene, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Isoceteth-10 Packaging It comes in a matte black pencil form with a black cap covering it’s mouth. The pencil is also shipped with a black coloured sharpener (made in Germany) since it is not a retractable pencil and needs to be sharpened very often. SUGAR’s logo is printed on the pencil in white colour also the kohl’s name & shade is printed horizontally. On the sharpener also, ‘SUGAR’ is embossed. The simplest packaging of all. Texture & Smell The kohl is very creamy and smooth since it is wax based formula. It glides on my water line and eye lid way too smoothly leaving intense colour behind. It surely is a stroke of genius. There is practically no smell out of the kohl. Shade – 01 Back To Black This is one of the blackest kohl I have ever used. The blackest black that I can ever ask for. Only one swipe and I find that intense colour on my lids/waterline. I wish SUGAR comes up with more shades with this formula. Pigmentation As I have mentioned above the piece is highly pigmented. I do not need another stroke, it’s that heavenly pigmented. I have tried layering up the products many times, but it does not alter the final finish. Finish The finish of this kohl is semi matte it’s not fully matte or fully glossy, it’s something in between, works for me. In case you desire to have a complete matte finish, you can dab a black matte eye shadow over it. Longevity It does stay for 7-8 hours without any smudge. Then I take it off. I have never worn it over 7-8 hours. The formula is waterproof but it is easy to take it off with my regular face wash and water. But I prefer removing my eye makeup with little baby oil. ** I have worn this kohl here. Likes Creamy & smooth texture. One swipe gives intense colour. The blackest black shade. Intense pigmentation. Does not smudge. Stays on eyes for long. Easy to take it off. Sleek packaging. Dislikes It needs to be sharpened with every use otherwise I can not draw precise lines. The sharpening leads to wastage of product which makes it little pricey. Summary : ❤❤❤❤❤ The blackest black and smooth textured kohl. This surely makes it a must have product for me. I used to love gel eye liners, but this is more convenient if I ignore the sharpening thing. SUGAR should come up with a retractable packaging with same formula and more shades.
