Hi, Product buildup, dirt, pollution & sweat really freak out my sensitive scalp. If not taken care, scalp may develop fungal infection in these circumstances. I make sure to use a shampoo containing Ketoconazole whenever I feel bit discomfort on my scalp or atleast once in 2-3 weeks I use such shampoo as a clarifying shampoo. Ingredients Ketoconazole 2% & Shampoo base. Packaging Ketomac Anti dandruff shampoo comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a rust colored flip top cap. The outer packaging is white & red themed. The shampoo has a cheesy tag line as “Balon ko awaragi karne do“. Information about the product like ingredients, how to use, price etc are printed on the outer as well as on the shampoo bottle. Fragrance & Texture The fragrance of Ketomac shampoo is chemically sweet. The smell is not pungent but is quite noticeable. Texture wise the shampoo is gel based & quite runny. In the bottle, the shampoo looks bit of orangish, otherwise it is mostly clear with orangish hue. It lathers very well upon mixing with water. How To Use? The shampoo is supposed to be applied on wet hair and left on scalp for about 5 minutes before rinsing it with water. To control dandruff, the shampoo must be used twice a week for 4 weeks or until scalp clears. After that use the shampoo once a week to keep the scalp clear. To control itchiness, use the shampoo whenever you your scalp feels discomfort. Use it once in every 2-3 week to ensure scalp stays free of fungal infection if you scalp is prone to develop one. My Experience This is a strong shampoo since it contains a heavy chemical. It dries out hair & hence I would not suggest to use it more than twice a week even if you have heavy dandruff issues. To balance out things, this is what I do. I do not apply it on my hair. I apply this shampoo only on my scalp on crown area and leave it there only for 2-3 minutes before rinsing it out with water. Then I follow up with a moisturizing/mild shampoo to clean my hair. I never skip using a nice moisturizing conditioner/hair masque. My hubby has dandruff issues, and he too uses this shampoo to control this problem. He uses this shampoo once or twice a week, but never experienced any kind of hair fall problem. Coming to the dandruff treatment, it clears his scalp upto 80-90% which he considers a significant result. Likes Contains Ketoconazole which is a potent drug to treat dandruff & fungus infection. Gel based shampoo which lathers very well. Smells nice. Works good in controlling itchiness & flakiness. Controls dandruff upto 80%. Does not cause hair fall. Affordable & economical. Assure is a new brand, but I have been seeing it a lot online and hearing about it offline a lot. I have got few products from the brand. Today I am going to talk about a shampoo from the brand which is formulated to hydrate Dry & Damaged hair. Honestly speaking, I really dig into any hair product that claims to be meant for Dry & Damaged hair. Some work decently while some fail miserably. I mostly judge a product on basis of the amount of shine & moisture it can induce into my hair ends. If my hair ends feel & look healthy, I pass it otherwise of course, it’s a miss for me. Shampoos & conditioners should be given ample time to show results though. It takes time for the potent ingredients of a product to penetrate deep into the hair shaft and work. We use shampoo for 2-3 minutes on our scalp and hair, so the product does not really get enough time to work on the problem area. But this does not mean that you can put a chemically laden shampoo on your hair like a mask. Rather make sure to keep it for 3-5 while massaging your scalp gently to circulate blood thoroughly which gives a boost to new & healthy hair. About ASSURE Moisture Rich Shampoo With Green Tea Extract ASSURE says that this moisture rich shampoo is enriched with Green Tea Extracts to give your dry and damaged hair a boost of moisture making them healthy & shiny again. Ingredients Packaging The shampoo comes in a transparent plastic bottle with push to open black cap at the top. The packaging looks fine and attractive but this kind of push to open packaging are not generally leak proof. The bottle contains all the information about the product like how to use, ingredients, price & other vital information. Color, Texture & Smell It is a bright yellow colored & with gel like consistency shampoo. It lathers very well when diluted with water. It has fresh citrus-y kind of smell. I am quite fond of the smell though. It is very mild and pleasant. My Experience I have used it quite few times. A dollop of the product is enough for my waist length hair because it lathers very well. It cleanses my scalp very well. If I have oiled my hair, I definitely need some more product than the usual. It also rinses well without much hassle. Coming to the after effects, there is bit shine to my hair, but that’s all, I do not find any thing extra ordinary out of this shampoo. I have used it without oiling, after oiling, with conditioner & without using a conditioner. The results are nothing much expressive. It does not do much on it’s own. On closing notes I would say it is economical. But that’s all. Summary : 3/5 ASSURE Moisture Rich Shampoo With Green Tea Extract is an average shampoo which might work good for normal to oily hair type. But for dry/damaged hair type, it can not do much. It lathers well, smells nice & is economical. Not every product stands true to it’s claims. Sometimes, I can tell with very first use, if a product is promising or not. It is basically a drug-store shampoo to cater various scalp problems like dandruff and itchiness. The two main ingredients of this product are Ketoconazole and Zinc Pyrithione. Ketoconazole is an anti-fungal often used to treat fungal infections like dandruff while Zinc Pyrithione is an anti-bacterial and antifungal substance that helps to cure Seborrhoeic Dermatitis. Some other popular dandruff curing cleansers including Clear use Zinc Pyrithione in their formula. I think I have become an authority of this particular product because I have been using this product for 10+ years! So, here we go with my experience on Scalpe+. About Ketoconazole and Zinc Pyrithione Shampoo Scalpe+ For Dandruff & Seborrhoeic Dermatitis of Scalp Price Rs.256 for 75ml Ingredients Ketoconazole IP 2% w/w Zinc Pyrithione 1% w/w (as dispersion) In a conditioning base q.s. Colour :Carmoisine How to Use Wet hair and scalp and apply sufficient shampoo to produce enough lather. Massage for one minute and rinse with warm water. Repeat procedure for additional 3 minutes. Rinse with warm water and dry hair. Use twice a week for four weeks and followed by once weekly as maintenance therapy or use as directed by the Physician. Packaging This anti-dandruff shampoo comes in a white plastic squeeze bottle with fuchsia plastic flip-open lid. The bottle has a very easy-grip shape which helps to hold the shampoo bottle in the damp environment of my shower area. Like any other common shampoos this shampoo also has label graphics and the useful information in written form. The shampoo bottle came housed inside a cardboard packaging but I cannot show it to you because I lost that. As every bit of information, mentioned in that box is also written in the bottle; I do not have to worry! Color, Texture & Smell Scalpe+ shampoo is baby pink in color. It has a mild floral smell to it. The fragrance is similar to Sunsilk’s pink variant. This shampoo has medium-to dense thickness. The consistency is comparable to Head & Shoulder shampoos. My Views Dandruff had never been very acute on my case until I was diagnosed with hormonal disorders. Even now you won’t be able to find tiny dandruff flakes on my scalp except for the ‘season-change’ time. But, I like to keep this lotion, which is basically a cleansing shampoo kind of product, handy at all times because I suffer with irritating itchy scalp whenever I get dandruff. I follow the usage instruction strictly at this dandruff-phase. When the problem subsides I increase the gap between each two uses because overuse of this seems to make my hair dry and prone to split-ends like most of the dandruff shampoos in the market including Head & Shoulder. This deep cleansing property on the other hand makes this shampoo a nice clarifying cleanser to get rid of the product build-ups in my scalp. Coming to the performance, Scalpe shampoo has proved itself to be worthy to stay in my stash by its excellent dandruff catering caliber! Whenever I start to get itchy dandruff or oily dandruff, I use this and within a week the problem disappears completely. It does not smell bad like some other medicated dandruff shampoos and does not make my hair that much dry as well. I just have to heavy-oil my hair beforehand to quarantine the drying effects, which is not a big price to pay to relieve my scalp issues. Hello Lovely Ladies. Anti hair fall shampoos become necessity during winter season. My hair fall is unreal. It feels like the hair would never stop falling and I would go bald for sure. This winter season was nothing different from the previous years. I faced a lot of hair fall in the month of November & December. By then I had not started using Japakusum Lotion and my Custom Hair Oil Mix. I was searching peace of mind in shampoos and conditioners. In the process, I came across Garnier Ultra Blends Anti Hair Fall Shampoo With Royal Jelly & Lavender. About Garnier Ultra Blends Anti Hair Fall Shampoo Ultra Blends is a relatively new hair care range from Garnier which claims to contain natural & precious ingredients to treat hair problem the natural way. The ingredients are selected carefully on the basis of their proven efficacy. Above all, every formula is parabene free. This specific variant targets hair fall problem. It contains Royal Jelly & Lavender Essence. The herbs are rich in amino acids, vitamins & lipids. The ingredients help to strengthen and reinforce hair. The end result is strong, bouncy & healthy hair. Price Rs. 120 for 175ml. Rs. 230 for 340ml. Rs. 430 for 640ml. Buy here at discounted price. Ingredients Packaging The Ultra Blends range from Garnier has a typical packaging where variants differ in the colour of the bottle. This particular variant comes in a light green honey opaque plastic bottle with a rust coloured cap. The bottle contains attractive graphics of Lavender & a golden coloured bottle supposed to be containing Royal Jelly. The packaging clearly states that the formula is parabene free. Product information & ingredients are listed at the back of the bottle. The bottle contains a shiny rust coloured cap fitted at the top with a leaf embossed at the opening (very typical of the Ultra Blends range packaging). Colour, Texture & Smell It is a runny & creamy shampoo. The shampoo is light honey coloured. The colour is so light that my camera could not pick it. It lathers well. The smell is herbal, mild & pleasant. It smells mostly of Lavender, can’t pick up honey smell in the shampoo. I am a fan of Lavender smell, so it fits the bill. My Experience So I was saying that when my hair starts falling out during winter, they always fall out like crazy. There is no way I can stay calm in that phase. I start hunting for hair care products which can help me sail through that phase. In the same mode of panic, last December, I laid my hands on this anti hair fall shampoo. I was thrilled to read about the product description where it was claimed that the shampoo contained Lavender & Royal Jelly. I was not sure about the effect of Royal Jelly on my hair but I was damn sure Lavender could help me. I need only a dollop of the shampoo to wash my mid length hair, since it lathers well. I am always very gentle when I wash my hair, so I massage my scalp with the shampoo for about 2 minutes before taking the lather till the hair ends. I never apply shampoo directly to the hair ends since it is not advised.The shampoo cleanses my scalp of oil & dirt, without making my hair ends dry. It washes away without any hassle. I like the Lavender smell that the shampoo has. Lavender smells good & it has a calming effect on senses. Coming to the after effect, after using the shampoo for about a month there was significant reduction in my hair fall. I would say it helped me reduce my hair fall upto 50%. I do not think any shampoo has been that much effective on my hair fall problem ever. I can say it has been quite effective on my severe case of hair fall. I finished the bottle in 2 months but never really got it again since, I do not face the hair fall problem now, as I have started using my hair oil regularly along with a wonderful scalp lotion. I can use any shampoo I want. Likes Nice creamy texture. Lathers well & enough. Cleanses my scalp & hair effectively. I saw 50% reduction in my hair fall while I used this shampoo alone. Contains very effective herbs such as Lavender & Royal Jelly. Smells heavenly. Affordable, economical & easily available. Parabene free. Dislikes None Summary : 5/5 This is one of the anti hair fall shampoos that actually worked on my hair. I did see effective results. I think the blend of this shampoo is amazing and the shampoo is gentle for daily use too. The parabene free formula & affordability make it more desirable. I feel shampoo, conditioner & hair serums are superficial. I do not expect much from them. Healthy hair & skin depends upon your eating habits & lifestyle. Brands come out with new hair care ranges every now and then claiming to be more close to nature. Garnier Ultra Blends is also a recently launched range which claims to be parabene free and claims to contain more natural ingredients to deliver much satisfactory results. I have been using Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Intense Repair Shampoo & Conditioner from quite a while. Let me share what I feel about this range. About Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Intense Repair Shampoo & Conditioner Garnier claims that this Ultra Blends range is free of parabenes while composed of natural ingredients that are carefully selected to deliver the much needed nourishment to hair. This particular Soy Milk & Almonds formula is for the damaged hair to repair them and strengthen them from roots by providing them hair protein from Soy Milk & almonds which are high in protein content. Finally your hair are repaired & restored. Hair feels soft & managed with every wash. Price Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Intense Repair Shampoo retails at Rs. 120 for 175ml. There is an embossing of a leaf at the opening of the flip top cap which is common among all the hair shampoos & conditioners from the same Ultra Blends range. The packaging is sturdy, attractive & travel friendly. The only difference in the packaging of the shampoo and the conditioner is that they disperse product from opposite directons which is a conventional packaging of any shampoo and conditioner from any range/brand. Colour, Texture & Smell The shampoo & conditioner both are runny white liquids where the shampoo is more runny than the conditioner because it is little thicker than the shampoo for the obvious reasons. The shampoo is more like a lotion while the conditioner is creamy in consistency. Both the shampoo & the conditioner smell the same, mild & pleasant. My Experience Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Intense Repair Shampoo The shampoo is supposed to be containing Soy Milk & Almonds which makes it very moisturising & creamy. The shampoo lathers well and effectively cleanses my scalp. It gets rid of dirt, sweat & oil in just one wash. It also washes away easily leaving my scalp feeling clean. I never felt any itchiness or allergy after using this shampoo. My hair ends feel soft while am still under shower. I actually feel like not using anything else because they feel quite moisturised. I like the runny consistency of this shampoo because it’s easy to lather and apply onto my hair while I face trouble with Organix Keratin Shampoo which is thick like a conditioner. Also takes little time to lather. I would say that I could not see any difference in my hair’s quality over a time period of 3 months. It’s just a shampoo and can only give an effective cleansing. Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Intense Repair Conditioner After using the Shampoo, I squeeze my hair to get rid of the excess water. Then I take some conditioner and apply it from the mid lengths of my hair till the hair ends. Then I carry on with my bath. After 5 minutes or so, I rinse my hair with cold water to take out the conditioner. I air dry my hair. Honestly I am not much pleased with the conditioner since it’s not that creamy that it can moisturize my hair ends well. It is good for fine hair, but my thick & dry hair needs extra care. I also need to use a lot of this conditioner to get decent results. I can get much better results when I combine the shampoo from the same range with any other creamy conditioner/ mask. Likes Like the formula of the shampoo. The shampoo lathers well even on oiled hair. Gentle yet effective. Gets rid of oil & dirt in just one wash. The shampoo will suit all hair types while the conditioner will work for fine hair. The shampoo & the conditioner are free of parabenes. Smells nice. Affordable & easily available. Dislikes The conditioner is not much effective in moisturising my dry hair. The combo did not deliver much in terms of damage repair. Summary I would recommend the Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Intense Repair Shampoo for all hair types for effective yet gentle cleansing, but the conditioner can be skipped. The combo is affordable though & is free of parabenes too. Hi there, I am back with another review. Its my current favourite shampoo. Did I tell you about my dry hair? My hair are medium length and wavy. As we go down the hair strands, the dryness increases, because my scalp is not able to send the required moisture till the entire length. So I am always on a lookout for moisturising shampoos/masks. I have used olive masks/ shampoos in past and the results were very impressive. During her summer vacations, last May, when my sister was coming back from Canada, I asked her to pick some Olive shampoo/ hair mask. She got me this cylindrical bottle of olive coloured shampoo. I was neutral but hopeful. FARCOM Mea Natura Olive Shampoo Strength & Softness with organic virgin olive oil is SLES Free, Parabenes Free, Propylene Glycol Free, Silicones Free, Alcohol Free, Synthetic Dyes Free. FARCOM Mea Natura Claims about Olive Shampoo Cleansing shampoo for the intensive care of dry-dehydrated hair. Enriched with organic virgin olive oil and an active complex of bio-saccharide & natural lupine extract, a powerful blend with hydrating, conditioning and antioxidant ingredients, amino acids and proteins that contribute to restore and maintain hair’s natural moisture balance. Leaves hair soft & manageable, shiny & healthy-looking. Gently cleanses hair and scalp without any irritation. Ideal for daily use. Suitable for dry/dehydrated hair. Price: $4.99 for 10.14 fl.oz. , roughly Rs.335 for 300ml. Availability: Not available in India yet. Ingredients: Texture, Color & Smell: It is clear runny shampoo with pleasant and mild fragrance. It smells very fresh. My Experience: I alternate this shampoo with the Organix Keratin combo. Since shampoos are supposed to be used diluted, I take out little shampoo on my palm and add few drops of water to it. Rub the palms together trying to lather it and then apply the solution only on my scalp. Massage the shampoo thoroughly on my scalp and run fingers through hair trying to take down the lather till the ends. After 2-3 minutes I rinse my hair with plain water. Sometimes I skip conditioning after using this shampoo just to observe the results, and trust me when I say this, my hair still feel nourished & manageable. But, as I am supposed to, I use a conditioner/ mask (mostly Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Mask) mostly afterwords to lock the moisture in. The moisture stays in until next wash, which is something extra ordinary. It’s continuous usage has improved the quality of my hair. My hair are less frizzy since they are well moisturised. This shampoo is moisturizing but it suited my sister’s oily hair. It concludes that this shampoo is suitable for all type of hair. I wish it was available in India because its such an amazing product. I also will try to get some masks/conditioners from this range. Likes: Very moisturising for dry & dehydrated hair. Controls frizz. Suitable for all hair types. Does not weigh down hair. Volume is maintained. Affordable for the given quantity. Pleasant smell. Devoid of parabenes, alcohols, siliicons and other harmful chemicals. Dislikes: Availability issue. Not travel friendly since the bottle is 300ml. Not sure if travel sizes are also available. Hello Girls. How are you surviving another Monday? I never liked Mondays, until now. Now, Mondays fill me with a sense of responsibility. I am most productive on Mondays. it’s a day when I feel the most energetic. I feel motivated & full of enthusiasm. I think it’s all about the prospective. So, today I thought let’s introduce you to three fat ladies of my hair care regimen. To give you a brief of my hair type, I have medium length wavy hair with really dry ends. Not everything can work on these dry ends. It is really hard to moisturise them. I have stumbled upon few conditioners and masks, also some DIYs, like the banana recipe, which are able to give decent moisture to my hair. I will be writing about all those products/DIYs one by one. Here is a glimpse of Organix hair products I am currently using. Organix has a vast range of shampoo, conditioner, masks & serums. Organix has tried to cover all type of hair with every kind of need. I have tried many variants from Organix since it has been launched in India, and it has always given decent results. The Brazilian Keratin Therapy combo of shampoo & conditioner, is a very recent addition to my hair care regimen. I actually didn’t buy this myself. My sister got this for herself. But since she has quite fine hair, this combo didn’t suit her. She handed this combo to me to try on my hair, which are quite different from hers. This combo worked beautifully on my hair. Detailed review soon. The Moroccan Argan Cream shampoo is my all time & the most favourite, shampoo from Organix. It is so creamy & moisturizing that I don’t even feel to use a conditioner afterwards. I think that gives you an idea of how wonderful this shampoo is.
