It does not matter how many Parabene & Cruelty free brands are present in market, Fuschia have marked it’s presence brilliantly. I took it as just any other brand. But no, it’s not. It’s USP, is the fact that it’s products are handmade, curated to have a special experience by it’s users. The natural ingredients that it uses may not be unique but surely are picked carefully from around the world. Today I am going to speak about Activated Charcoal Detoxifying Face & Body Scrub by Fuschia. Activated Charcoal is the hottest topic on the web right now. Every brand is coming up with activated charcoal based products. Fuschia shipped this charcoal based face & body scrub few days back to me along with a face pack and a beautiful lip balm. You can check out my instagram post about the products here. I have been using the products since then. And I feel I should review the scrub today before it’s over. Fuschia Activated Charcoal Detoxifying Face & Body Scrub The scrub is enriched with activated charcoal, aloe vera & wheatgerm oil. Activated charcoal absorbs toxins & germs from skin while Aloe vera soothes and wheatgerm moisturizes skin gently. The scrub is ideal fit for oily & acne prone skin. The scrub is free of parabenes, SLS & phathalets. Ingredients Activated Charcoal, Aloe Vera, Wheatgerm, Olive Oil. As simple as it could get. Price & Availability The scrub is priced at Rs. 450 for 100gms. This is looking bit pricey at fist glance. But scrubs generally lasts for long duration since, you always need just a bit to work with every time. The scrub can be bought from Fuschia website or other shopping websites. The brand is not available offline though. Fragrance & Texture This is a fine grained grey colored scrub. It actually works like a skin polish would. It has bit of slippery texture when you first apply it on skin. But after you start working with it, it gives a nice experience. It is easy to wash away. Also does not dry out skin since it contains the goodness of olive oil & wheatgerm oil. Fragrance wise, I can’t really put down my finger on it. But it is mild yet intriguing. Does not irritate my nose. My Experience This scrub is meant to be used for oily to acne prone skin mainly, which is exactly my skin. I also like to use scrub every 2-3 days to get rid of dead skin, otherwise my pores get clogged. So I mostly like to use tea tree based scrubs but I was quite impressed by the ingredient list of this charcoal based scrub. Charcoal is supposed to draw out impurities out of your skin. This scrub does nothing less. I apply this scrub over my face and let it stay there for 2-3 minutes and later scrub it off gently massaging. The scrubbing gr annuals are gentle yet effective. I really can see a clearer skin after taking off the scrub. It means it takes away the dead skin very effectively without hurting my sensitive skin. Since I received a sample only, I did not use it over my body, otherwise I would have gotten only one use out of it. I am sure it would work as an excellent body scrub too. Will I Repurchase Fuschia Activated Charcoal Scrub? I absolutely want to. I am sure the 100gm version would last me for many months since I am going to use it for my face only. I am also trying out Botanic Love Tea Tree Scrub, which is another delicacy. I have been alternating between these two scrubs and feel like this is a nice combo. Likes The product is from a brand which is cruelty free. Also uses all natural ingredients. The scrub is free of parabenes, SLS, Phathalets, synthetic dyes etc. The grannuals of the scrub are even and are gentle on skin. Suits my oily, acne prone & sensitive skin. Does not irritate existing acne on my face. Gives a clearer & brighter face. Does not dry out skin. Does not feel sticky over skin. Dislikes The tub packaging is not really preferable when it comes to skin care. One must take utmost care of hygiene before touching the product or use a spatula. The price is bit on higher side but I don’t see this much of a con since it is all natural, effective & would last for a long time. Do I Recommend This Face & Body Scrub? I absolutely would want you to try it out. Even if you have dry or normal skin type, you would love it’s effect. The oils present in the scrub nourishes skin without making it feel oily or sticky. The even grannuals work effectively to get rid of the dead skin. Activated Charcoal really suck out all the impurities out of skin. Who are into natural skin care, would definitely admire this parabene & SLS free beauty. I am sure many of you would have used this scrub already. How was your experience girls? Lots Of Love.

For this scrub I am using finely ground coffee with small granules because most of the unwanted hair growth is on the sensitive areas of the skin. Coarsely ground oatmeal can also be used as a replacement for coffee. Sunflower Oil: Sunflower oil is the base for my scrub. Steps To Prepare The Scrub Take 1 teaspoon Coffee in a dry bowl. Add ½ teaspoon Sunflower Oil to it and mix. Add 2 drops of Lemongrass or any other citrus essential oil and stir. Store the scrub in an airtight container for future use. Usage: Dampen the area to be exfoliated and remove the excess moisture using a soft towel. Take appropriate amount of scrub and exfoliate the skin using firm circular strokes for 2-3 minutes. Leave it for 3-4 more minutes so that the oils get seeped into the skin and then wash it off. Continue with your razor hair removal routine after 10-15 minutes as per the sensitivity level of your skin. Precautions Though all the ingredients used in this exfoliator are either natural or food grade, but it is good do a patch test beforehand to prevent any skin irritation, breakouts etc. Do not keep the scrub in any moist place like shower area or touch it with moist hands. This may cause the coffee granules to lose its grittiness which in turn will lessen the effectiveness of the scrub. It is best to use the scrub freshly made. It’s tricky to use a scrub on oily & acne prone skin. It’s important that we reap the benefit of scrubbing without irritating the already exiting acne on the skin. I have very sensitive skin. Sometimes, herbal scrubs irritate my skin if they are too strong. I received Just Herbs Livelyclean Honey Exfoliating Face Cleansing Gel, in my February Fab Bag. Honestly, I have not used much of the Just Herbs products. So I am not quite a fan of Just Herbs (yet). I was neutral about this cleansing gel cum scrub from Just Herbs too, upon seeing it in the fab bag. So how did it work for me? You will get to know about it in while. Just stick with me…. About Just Herbs Livelyclean Honey Exfoliating Face Cleansing Gel This is a mild cleansing gel from Just Herbs enriched with Neem, Holy Basil & Turmeric, known for their anticeptic properties. This cleanser can be used daily. It contains extracts of Arjuna, Symplocos bark and jojoba meal, which give mild exfoliation unclogging pores. Dead skin is dissolved and so are the impurities with thehelp of Orange Peel, revealing fresh new skin beneath. The product is free from SLES/SLS, PEG/PPG, GMO & other synthetic ingredients. Honey moisturizes your skin while keeping it soft & supple. Price Rs. 425 for 100ml. Ingredients Packaging The product comes in a transparent plastic bottle with golden detailing. The 100ml packaging contains a black pump at the top, while the 50ml packaging does not contain a pump, rather is packed with a screw-in metallic cap at the top. There is also a plastic stopped beneath the cap to avoid any spillage. The bottle contains all the information about the product like, features, ingredients & directions to use the product. How To Use It’s an exfoliating cleansing gel. Hence it’s supposed to be used as a scrub. Apply some amount onto the skin and massage gently for few minutes (approx. 3-4). Then wash your face with plain water. Now, if you are following Just Herbs 6 Step Skin Regimen, you can go on with that, or simply moisturize your skin (like I do) after patting it dry. While you are enjoying the scrubbing action of this cleansing gel, please be really gentle. Because , it has little uneven (herbal) scrubbing particles, so there are chances that you might hurt your skin if use more pressure. Color, Texture & Smell It is a honey based cleanser, so it is honey coloured. In fact the texture is also honey like, little runny but workable. It makes quite good lather for being a herbal product and being free of SLS & SLES. It also smells mostly of Honey. You will notice dark brown colored small scrubbing particles which seem to be the extracts of Arjuna & other herbal elements, posted in the about section. My Experience I have been using it from quite a while. I find it extremely useful, when I want mild scrubbing for my face. Excessive scrubbing is bad for skin, but sometimes, my skin is in a phase where it is dry & flaky. In that situation, Just Herbs Livelyclean Honey Exfoliating Face Cleansing Gel fits the bill perfectly. Honey takes care of the dry spots while flakes are taken away by the herbal scrubbing particles. I am left with fresh & calm skin. The cleansing gel smells of honey, feels like honey & works like honey. Since the product contains herbal ingredients, the scrubbing elements are little uneven in size. When I used it for the very first time, I felt it was bit scratchy, maybe because I was not gentle enough. But later on, I went with a light hand & the scrubbing was fun & effective. There was no unwanted scratches on my face. I have not suffered any breakout that I can attribute to this cleansing gel. If I am gentle with the scrubbing part, my sensitive skin does not get irritated despite of the fact that it contains a lot of herbal ingredients. The price I feel is bit on higher side, but eventually it is very economical since I do not need much of the product for a session. Likes Power packed with all herbal ingredients. Does not contain harmful chemicals like SLS/SLES, PEG/PPG, GMO & other synthetic ingredients. Honey based cleanser. Clears skin of dead cells & impurities. Leaves skin moisturized. Suitable for all skin types. Dislikes Pricey. The uneven scrubbing particles can feel little harsh if you are not careful. I wonder how it lathers so well? Summary : 4.5/5 It’s the very first product from Just herbs, that I have liked from the brand. It is mild (if you are gentle while scrubbing), leaves skin fresh, clean & moisturized. Packed with herbal ingredients & sans chemicals. I really recommend this cleansing gel. Have you used this product from Just Herbs? Do you agree that it is a great product from the brand. Love.

My Experience I do not remember when I first tried this scrub, but I remember using it on and off always. I stop using it when I get bored of using it. Himalaya’s Neem range is really effective and popular among acne prone skinned girls. The face wash is considered to be the very first product to be used when you suffer from teen acne. I suffer from hormonal breakouts, so the neem range can not really do much about it. But the scrub is really effective in keeping my skin free of dead skin and gives me effective exfoliation without hurting my skin. The scrub has very small granuals still I experience a good scrubbing effect. All I am left is soft, smooth & bright skin. It never irritates my skin nor does it aggravates existing acne. I would not recommend it for every day scrubbing job though. I suffer from bleak heads on my nose, but they never fully disappear even after using this scrub. The scrub is affordable and economical too. My SIL has dry skin and she loves it too. I feel this suits every skin type. Likes Natural & herbal composition. Contains the goodness of Neem & Turmeric. Has anti bacterial properties. The scrubbing granuals are mild yet effective. Leaves skin soft, smooth & bright. Does not cause or aggravate acne. Affordable & easily available. Travel friendly packaging. Suitable for all skin types. Dislikes Not much effective on my black heads. Contains Parabenes. Summary : ❤❤❤❤❤ A very popular, affordable and effective scrub with the goodness of Neem & Turmeric. It clarifies and purifies skin at the same time. Iraya Depigmentation Recipe Jirakadi Lepa : Review

I am trying hard but not able to stick to my schedule of writing. I hate when it happens. It hurts, not being able to give time to my 2nd baby, High On Gloss. But it’s just a phase, I am trying to snap out of it. So trying hard to get out of hibernation, I am posting a review of Iraya Depigmentation Recipe Jirakadi Lepa, it’s a depigmentation solution. I have some pigmentation on my neck folds induced during my pregnancy period. So I am always on lookout for products labelled as anti pigmentation cream/scrub/lotion. I got this mask/scrub last year. Read on to know more about my experience with this product. About Iraya Depigmentation Recipe Jirakadi Lepa Iraya’s 100% natural remedy for depigmentation- jirakadi Lepa is taken from the Bhavprakash Nigantu, an ancient Ayurveda treatise. Cumin seeds, black mustard, black sesame and Krishna Jeera together help remove blemishes, scars and black spots. The lepa lightens pigmentation and improves the skin’s texture and overall appearance. Price Rs. 495 for 50gms. Ingredients Jeera (Cuminum Cyminum), Sahajeera (Carum Carvi), Black Mohari (Brassica Juncea), Black Til (Sesamum Indicum), Castor Oil (Ricinus Communis) How To Use Form a thin paste by blending with milk. Apply gently on affected areas only, avoiding the area around the eyes. Leave for an hour and wash off with cold water. Do not use soap for the next 6 hours. You may initially experience a slight tingling sensation. Texture, Colour & Smell It is black grainy thick paste which smells of Cumin Seeds mainly. My Views This lepa has a herbal formulation of cumin seeds, black sesame, castor oil etc., which makes it very exotic to miss. I got it to help me with my pregnancy induced pigmentation on my neck. I bought it after going many reviews which were screaming that this is the one solution that could help me with my pigmentation. The texture of this lepa is very thick and grainy. You need a spoon/spatula to take out some product in a bowl or on the palm of your hand. And mix it with milk. Milk is advised to be used because it contains lactic acid which has depigmentation effect on skin. Once milk is mixed with this lepa, it becomes little easy to apply it on skin. When I use this lepa on my face, I do not use milk, since, milk breaks me out. I use only rose water. But I mix some milk with this lepa before I apply this on my neck area. Since the texture is very grainy, it keeps on falling off the skin. So expect a messy bedroom or wherever you are sitting while wearing it. I try to wear it for an hour as suggested/directed, but trust me it is very hard to wear it for that much time. It eventually falls off the face/neck even before it’s one hour. The smell is quite strong, since it’s herbal, I do not mind the smell. The grainy texture gives a nice scrubbing effect upon washing. Before taking off the leftovers of this lepa, I scrub my face with damp fingers. Without caring much about the messy wash basin, I check out my face in the mirror and I forget about the extra grainy texture and strong cumin seeds smell. Coming to the after effects, my face really glows with cleaner complexion and smooth skin. Face does not feel dry, but I still put my basic moisturiser on my face and neck. Regarding the de-pigmentation effect, it did not not help me with pigmentation on my neck, very sad. It’s such a tough task to regularly apply such a messy mask on my neck and when there are no desired results, it breaks my heart. It’s just regular face mask to get a smoother/clearer skin but it could not cater to my actual needs. Likes Herbal formulation. It works as a scrub + mask. Leaves skin soft, smooth and cleaner. Does not mess up with existing acne. No allergies. Does not dry out skin. Dislikes Very thick texture. Very messy mask. The mask keeps on falling off the face. All place is a mess after some time. Requires at least an hour to show the effects. Costly. Did not help me with pregnancy induced pigmentation. I can not locate it online anymore. Guess it has been discontinued. Summary : 3.5/5 Overall, it is an effective and herbal face mask+scrub to attain smooth and glowing skin but is not much effective on pregnancy induced pigmentation. Do you like chocolates? I think 90% of people do. Rest have never tasted any. I mostly regret after having a pizza, but I would never regret after having a chocolate. The smell of chocolate relaxes my mind. So how amazing it is to have a chocolate scrub? Do you know how beneficial chocolates are for your skin, dark chocolates for that matter? Winters are the only season when I can indulge in chocolate lotions, masks & scrubs without making my skin sweat afterwards. But this scrub is different. Vedic Line Choco Deli Sugar Scrub was introduced to me by my lovely sister in law, she too is quite fond of this scrub. This scrub looks like a chocolate pudding. Yummie huh? Vedic Line claims: Polishes & removes dead cells. Restores even complexion & texture. Price: Rs. 180 for 65ml. How To Use: Gently massage for 2 to 3 minutes on moist skin. After cleaning, apply Choco Body Butter or Vedic Line Moisturizer. Ingredients: Water, Cocoa Butter, Caramel, Cocoa Powder, Sesame Oil, Natural Granules & Vitamin E. Packaging: Comes in a brown tub, unhygienic. Texture, Colour & Smell: The scrub is golden-chocolate coloured. It has very minute scrubbing particles. It smells like a real chocolate of course. The most wonderful smell you can ask for in a scrub. My Experience: Vedic Line Choco Deli Sugar Scrub, is a gentle polish since the scrubbing particles are just same as you get in a skin polish product. But the quantity of the scrubbing particles is lesser than you expect in an actual skin polish. Hence it’s a milder version of a skin polish so that I can use it as an everyday scrub too. The scrub is creamy hence leaves my skin moisturised, but I have never found any traces of oil afterwards. I have used this scrub during summers & monsoons but it never felt heavy. What the hell did they put in it, a humidifier? Coming to the effects, it does its job well. It takes away dead cells, leaving my skin soft and supple. I don’t ever feel a need to put a moisturiser afterwords, but I still put on some clean n clear oil free moisturiser. This scrub has never broken me out, or made the existing zits worse. Likes: Creamy texture. A milder version of skin polishing. Does its job perfectly. Smell amazing. Leaves skin soft and supple since it’s moisturizing. Can be used by any skin type in any season. Last long since very little quantity is required per application. Affordable. No breakouts/ allergies. Dislikes: Unhygienic packaging. Since it looks & smells yummie I don’t mind dipping my gingers into it. You can use a spatula/spoon. If it had been in a tube, it would been easier yo carry it around like when you are travelling. Summary: 4.5/5 Not only smells amazing but also does a decent scrubbing job while leaving behind a soft and rejuvenated skin. Quite affordable too. Looking for heavy duty scrub?
