Everyone loves Aloe Vera Gel from Patanjali. I need to confess, I particularly have never loved the original green Aloe Vera Gel from Patanjali. I bought it many times, but I never really liked it that much. I always had some issues with this. When I used this during winter, it left my skin feeling stretchy, while during monsoon & summer, it made my skin itchy & sticky. I wonder how it got along so well with every body else in the world? Every time I bought this gel, I ended up using it on my hair instead. Though, it never showed really great results on my dry hair ends too, I just needed to finish this somehow. Last month I bought, Patanjali Soundarya Kesar Chandan Aloe Vera Gel, the newer version of Aloe Vera Gel from Patanjali. I was very hesitant, but, I still got it for review purpose only. I was so sure, I was not going to like that one also. But I was wrong. About Patanjali Soundarya Kesar Chandan Aloe Vera Gel This is not just Aloe Vera Gel, but it also contains an exotic blend of Sandalwood & Saffron. The blend has antioxidants & nourishment properties which keep skin free from roughness & dullness. Helps skin getting clear of dark spots, pigmentation & sunburn. Patanjali claims that only one week usage can show visible result on pimples and wrinkles. Price Rs. 50 for 60ml. Rs. 100 for 150ml. Buy here. Ingredients How To Use The gel can be used at night before retiring to bed. Apply a thin layer over your face, do not worry about your pillow, the gel will instantly get absorbed. In case you have normal to dry skin, you can apply a thick layer or another moisturizer/night cream over the gel. You can also use it as a face mask or as face massage gel, how ever you like to use. Packaging It comes in yellow colored transparent packaging to disguise the active ingredients such as Aloe Vera Gel, Sandalwood & Saffron. The original Aloe Vera Gel, is packed in a green colored transparent tube. The yellow bright packaging of this new variant is attractive. Every information about the product has been mentioned over the pack. Color, Texture & Smell This is a yellow colored gel. The gel is non sticky, better in consistency than the basic variant or at least I think so. It seems to be providing more water content to my skin. I like how easily it gets absorbed into my skin. There is no residue left. It smells milder than the basic version. The basic version had too sweet smell for my liking. This version, has more pleasant and mild smell. My Experience It is said that, oily skin should use gel based products. But I feel gel based product does not provide enough moisture to my skin. They just make my skin feel more stretchy & hence it produces more oil, making it sticky. I rather like to use lightweight lotions which seem to quench my skin’s mild thirst. The basic version of Aloe Vera Gel from Patanjali posed the same problem to my skin. It never provided enough moisture to my skin, just made it feel stretchy initially & later made it sticky. Sometimes, it even irritated my sensitive skin due to stretchy feeling. I failed to use it in an efficient way. When I used the new variant, I first noticed the mild smell, which was a good change. Next, the texture was more watery. It instantly calmed down my skin, upon application. I did not use it regularly, but used it very seldom, only when it was reachable and visible in my stash, or whenever I wanted to test it. From last few days, I feel this is a great product. It does good to my skin as my skin stays hydrated & calm. That’s all I expect form Aloe Vera Gel to do. I do not expect it to brighten my face, because, it would be like a lot to ask for. But in case, I found some brightening effect which I could attribute to this gel, I would update this post. Why I like Soundarya version more than the basic version? Because of it’s smell & better moisturizing properties. It is better in every aspect. I like the packaging too. It does not make my face stretchy or sticky. It’s almost like a lotion in gel form. Skin feels soft & supple. Keeps skin matte. Affordability & availability is never a problem with Patanjali products. I would recommend using this advance version if you have acne prone, oily & sensitive skin if you too do not like the basic version much. Do you agree with my experience? Is there anyone, who actually did not like the original version of Aloe Vera Gel from Patanjali? Or am I hallucinating? Is it just me? Let me know… okay? Have a nice Sunday 🙂

I didn’t manage to hit the bottom of many products this month, but there are still some products, that made to this list today. I feel good, whenever I manage to finish a product completely, it makes space in my stash for another product. Since I have started doing these empties post, I really push myself to finish products, so at last the cost/price of the product is justified, and my stash is not filled with unused products. Actually anyone can do this, in case you are a compulsive shopper & hoarder, you should take this new year resolution to finish at least 5 products every month. Even if there is a product not quite useful to me in it’s original form, I try to use it some other way, like a shampoo is multi purpose, so is a moisturiser. Beautiful Perfumed Body Spray Only today I realised, I have not done any post about this wonderful body spray. It has my kind of smell- flowery & powdery sweet. It retails at Rs. 170, but available at cheaper prices from Amazon.in. I have already stocked up this deodorant, and will be doing a detailed review on this. Update : It’s reviewed here. L’Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Nourishing Shampoo I am not much impressed by the L’oreal hair care products, but 6 Oil Nourish has been a hit with my dry hair. It amazingly soothes down the frizz & dryness in my hair, that they feel & look smooth and healthy. It contains 6 oils as Argan, Olive, Almond, Coconut, Jojoba, Camelina. I have used this shampoo during dry days also, and it never disappointed me. It retails at Rs. 155. AHAGlow Face Wash This face wash contain Glycolic Acid which unclogs pores and helps skin turnover at a faster speed to bring out clear and glowy skin. These days, I have been mostly using Pond’s Pimple Clear Face Wash, to try it out to review. AHAGlow helped me survive summers. Clean n Clear Oil Free Moisturiser It is my HG moisturiser, be it summer, winter or rainy days, it calms down my skin needs within seconds. I have been using it from many years now. It is water based and affordable moisturiser. Will try to post the review soon. Spa Ceylon Green Mint Cooling Foot Scrub It is great foot scrub. I received this foot scrub in one of my fab bag subscription. I love the consistency and scrubbing granules of this scrub. But it is quite costly, about 1000 bucks for 200 grams. Patanjali Aloe Vera Moisturising I got it for my hubby, he has dry skin. I use it to moisturise my hands every now and then. So we collectively managed to finish this tub. It contains shea butter, coconut, wheat germ and olive oil, which makes it a nice moisturiser for dry skin. So these were the products I managed to finish. Do you keep track of your unused products?

Hi, how are you doing today? I have not reviewed any product from Patanjali yet, so thought let’s do it today. I have tried many products from Patanjali, and not everything worked well for me. Some stayed decent while some were absolute rubbish. Patanjali Coconut Hair Wash has been a decent product. It didn’t disappoint me. This is a gentle and moisturizing shampoo meant for dry hair. Patanjali Coconut Hair Wash For Dry & Rough Hair A unique blend of coconut oil and natural extract of Ghritkumari, Methi, Bhringraj and Heena with neutralize base, which cleanse gently, nourish and moisturise the scalp the experience hair soft, silky and shiny. Price Rs. 95 for 150ml. Ingredients Cocus nucifera, Aloe barbednensis, Trigonella foenum graceum, Eclipta alba, Lewsonia innemis, Aqua, Soft neutralize base, sunflower oil, Diazolldinyl urea & IPBC, Sugandhit Dravya-Q.S. Packaging Comes in an opaque white tube with flip cap. How To Use Apply 2-5 ml on wet hair, massage gently for 1 minute and then rinse with water. Texture, Colour & Smell It is white coloured creamy shampoo with mild smell of sweet coconuts. My Views I like the natural composition of this shampoo, especially the coconut oil which is highly moisturizing and beneficial for hair. This shampoo is specially formulated for dry and rough hair, and hence, I bought this to test it’s claim. I feel like my hair are the driest in the world. The ends specially are like straw. The consistency of the shampoo is creamy which is desired in a moisturizing shampoo. It does not lather much, It’s like Cetaphil Cleanser, which does not lather but works. Although I don’t like this fact. Until my shampoo makes some bubbles, I don’t feel like my hair are clean. Hair feel soft and smooth while I rinse the shampoo after massaging it for a minute. I feel like it coats hair strands with something velvety which make my hair feel good. A conditioner is a must for my hair, but to test a shampoo, I skip one. I air dry my hair. My hair feels nourished to some extent. There is some shine that I can account to the shampoo. But there is little roughness in the hair. If I use a conditioner after this shampoo, hair feel much better. The roughness is gone and hair are manageable. Which means with this shampoo, I cannot skip using a conditioner afterwards. This shampoo cleanses hair no doubt, but to get rid of overnight oil application on hair and scalp I have to use a lot of product since the oil is already moisturising and creamy. After a point, the shampoo does not come out of the tube. And it really takes an effort. Likes Herbal composition. Contains goodness of coconut oil. Smells very nice. Works on dry hair. Makes hair smooth and soft. Adds shine to hair. Affordable & easily available. Suitable for all hair types. Dislikes Does not lather much. A lot of product is required to get oil out of hair. Product some times gets stuck in the tube. Failed to arrest hair fall. Summary : 3.5/5 I like it for it’s moisturizing effect, but for harsh winters it’s not enough for dry hair. Affordable shampoo. Check out my winter time shampoos Organix Argan Cream Shampoo FARCOM Mea Natura Olive Oil Shampoo Love
