Anti-ageing is the hottest selling term in the beauty industry right now. As quoted ‘the sooner the better’, it’s for every body. I thought using a nice broad spectrum sunscreen was enough, but, no you need to have a proper anti ageing regimen to flaunt flawless, youthful skin forever. Wrinkles, are considered to be the biggest sign of an ageing skin. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Range claims to reduce wrinkles instantly (with the very first application) by 49%. I happen to attend the launch event of the same and I would like to present my first thought on the range. You ready? Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Range The new age Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power range contains low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid and Patented Tri-Peptide technology which offers instant and long term wrinkle reduction. It also contains Eldelweiss plant stem cell extract along with SPF and pollution protect technology. This combination of natural extracts along with progressive science, reduces and prevents wrinkles in an effective and gentle way. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Range contains 5 products that has to be used day and night in order to achieve the results. Oriflame Novage Supreme Cleansing Gel priced, Rs. 1300 for 150ml A cleanser is the first step in any skin care routine. Oriflame introduced supreme cleansing gel to start with. It is a gel based non foaming cleanser. I feel like I am using Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser while using it. It has a mild and pleasant fragrance. The texture is very workable. I have been using it as my morning cleanser and it has been doing great. The cleanser does not leave any slippery or sticky situation behind. The packaging is attractive and sturdy. It does it’s cleansing job good and I do not expect to draw any anti ageing benefits form a cleanser as it is hardly given much time to sit on the skin. I am disappointed that no toner has been introduced in the range, cliaming that the cleanser will give you the results equivalent to using a cleanser and toner. Quite tall claims. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Serum, Rs. 2450 for 30ml Without using a toner, I move ahead to the next product that is a serum. A serum should be of light consistency but very potent to add some extra moisture to the skin while pushing in some nice nutrients. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Serum has quite a workable consistency. It’s almost-clear runny gel. It gets absorbed into the skin with some massaging action. Skin does not look oily or stretchy. I suits my oily skin very well. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Eye Cream, Rs. 1500 for 15gm An eye cream is a must for me. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Eye Cream, definitely is one of the favorite item in the list for me. It has got just the right consistency and moisture level for my eyes. It sinks into skin easily and could be worn under makeup. The eye cream comes in a tube with a pump which makes it very convenient to use and carry it along if you are travelling. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Day Cream SPF 30, Rs. 2150 for 50ml. This day cream is not thick nor ultra light weight as it contains SPF. But it does get into skin without much efforts. There is no white cast or sticky feeling. It’s bit heavy for my oily and acne prone skin. As a result I received some blocked pores. Choosing a day cream is the most tricky thing for me, specially when they contain SPF. Almost every day cream that contained some level of SPF broke me out into zits. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Day Cream too did the same thing. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Night Cream, Rs. 2150 for 50ml. A night cream is what you seal off the moisture within. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Night Cream is quite a nice one. It has almost the same texture as the day cream but sans SPF.The night cream has a nice moisture level to offer to a dehydrated skin, but also it does not make oily skin uncomfortable. It does make face look bit shiny, but that’s quite common for most of the night creams, except when you are using a night gel. My Thoughts I think the products are good, given the price range they must deliver results. I don’t have wrinkles yet, and there is no other claim that I could comment on. I don’t see any brightening effect after applying the entire range, like I am used to noticing. I think, the night and day cream, would be more suitable for dry to normal skin. I might just go ahead with the cleanser, serum and eye cream for now. Oriflame claimed that the products has been tested to be suitable for all skin types. Sadly, after using the regimen for few days, I am left with some blocked pores and small zits on my cheeks. This range does have side effects, specially for oily skinned people. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power range seems to be something a mature dehydrated skin could use. I feel, it’s not really suitable for oily and acne prone skin. The products have too much moisture that an oily skin can take up. If you have oily skin, the cleanser, the serum, the eye cream are good, the night cream is an average, while I would suggest to completely avoid the day cream.
