Winter brings dry skin issues. Oily skin changes to combination, normal skin changes to dry and wonder what happens to dry skin? Dry skin becomes extra dry, broken & cracked during winter. It is important to listen to your skin change as the season changes from hot to cold. Skin my feel bit flaky. Even my oily skin receives some dry-rough patches & flakiness during cold days. I wish I could slather some heavy moisturizing creams but my oily skin can not bear such heavy moisture. My husband has dry skin and it gets bit irritated too during cold days. He has a nice complexion which looks all red and flaky with the start of November every year. I have a habit to switch to different skin care products and hence I make him try a lot of them. But I always see him coming back to Nivea Creme, the basic blue tub. It’s what his skin desires. He have had nice experience with The Body Shop Vitamin E Creme too, but he does not like to pay that much for a moisturizer. Nivea Creme is his cult favorite for that matter. Nivea Creme Nivea Creme is as old as a century but is new like yesterday. Nivea Creme is rich creme for all seasons. It’s not just for face but it can be used by any one in many ways. This is relatively a heavy creme, but do not apply it in hurry and rough manner. Nivea wants you to enjoy the moment while you apply it with love, even strokes & give it time to absorb by itself. It’s the time that you should have in your life everyday. Price & Availability This rich in moisture creme is available in different packaging. Get a 200ml tub of this creme only for Rs. 240, 100ml only for Rs. 135 while 60ml travel size pack comes only for Rs. 75. Available at Amazon and other online shopping websites, you can spot it every where offline too. Packaging I love the packaging of this creme. Even though it comes in a tub, which might be unhygienic to some. A tube would have been better. But tub packaging kind of looks cute and beautiful. Specially the color of this tub is very attractive – Rich Royal Blue, The packaging is simple, only describing the ingredients at the bottom of the tub. Ingredients Fragrance & Texture It smells mild and nice. According to Nivea, the smell is a unique mix of bergamot & orange. You can find hints of lavender, rose, lilac & lily-of-the-valley. I am not that good at catching fragrances, but I can sure say it’s pleasant. Texture is really thick. It’s like a snow white body butter which is not runny. Yes, it’s that thick. But still we are in love with this creme because, applied once, it takes care of all the dry spots & flakiness of skin. No reapplication is needed. My Experience Honestly, I started used it because my hubby was already using it from many years before we met. I used to think this cream is useless for me since I cannot use it over my face. But except face, I can use it & love to use it every where on my body. It mainly contains glycerin, water & bit of citric acid. It is highly nourishing to skin. How we use it every winter? For Face Care My husband loves to slather Nivea Creme over his face every morning after shower before leaving for his office. 3 years back, I made him scrub his face with some new product and he developed some flakes around his nose which would never go away. Nivea Creme really took care of that cracked skin. The creme healed it. His trust over Nivea strengthened. As A Night Cream Since he has utterly dry cream, I sometimes forcefully slather some Nivea cream over his face at night while I am using a light serum over my face so that he does not develop wrinkles 🙂 As A Body Lotion I cannot use it over my face since it’s really thick and would be an ideal breeding ground for my acne bacteria. I rather use it over my arms & legs specially during the really cold days when the normal As A Hand & Feet Cream Let me admit, I do not use as such a hand or feet cream. Even if I receive one, I would never realize using it. But winter can really take toll on hands & feet. That’s when Nivea helps me. Just one application and it takes care of every single dry and rough patch on my hands & feet. The creme also helps to soften my cuticles. Anywhere I feel Dry So it’s a multipurpose creme and I can use it any where I feel a dry patch is coming up. It helps to keep elbows & knees soft. Soft & moisturized skin always have a healthy glow. Nivea Extra Whitening Cell Repair Body Lotion sounded little over the top with the ‘Extra Whitening’ tag. Anyway, I picked it up because I needed a body lotion for summer. A summer body lotion is supposed to be really lightweight & low on fragrance. This body lotion complied with the factors. My hands are bit tanned. My face may not get much tanned because, I use regular de-tanning face packs, but hands & feet are mostly ignored, don’t you agree? So, I expected this brightening sorry ‘extra brightening -cell repairing ‘ body lotion to help me with my tan. Did it help me? You will get to know. Nivea Extra Whitening Cell Repair Body Lotion With SPF 15 Nivea formulated a body lotion for Asian skin with approx. The lotion is formulated with super fruit extracts of camu camu & acerola cherry. The lotion contains SPF 15 and is free of Parabenes, Mineral oil, Colorants & Bleaching agents. Hence skin is protected & nourished without using any harmful ingredients. Helps to repair dull & damaged skin Fades away dark spots. Good for rough, dry, flaky, itchy, flaky skin. Price Rs. 95 for 75ml. Rs. 399 for 400ml. Buy here. Ingredients Packaging The body lotion comes in a white opaque plastic bottle with blue filp top cap at the top. You can find all the information regarding the product at the back of the bottle. It is easy to pour out body lotion out of the bottle very easily. The quality of the bottle is sturdy & leak proof. Fragrance & Texture I want my body lotion to smell mild & feel light weight. This body lotion works very well in the department. It is mildly fra ranted runny lotion. It spreads well on the skin & gets absorbed with little massage. No stickiness to observe later. My Experience I have been using this lotion once daily after shower in the morning. It is a lightweight lotion which needs little rubbing to get absorbed. SPF 15 is alright if I am staying indoor. But if I am going out, SPF 15 can not protect my skin from the harmful sun rays for long. Hence I rub in a higher level SPF lotion. In terms of moisturization this works fine. I do not need much moisture during summer. The consistency is just perfect for my skin. I do not need to put in more moisture until the next day. Coming to the long term effect of the body lotion, Extra Whitening should not be taken that seriously. It did help to improve the texture of my arms & hands but did not brighten the skin as such. There is not much difference in the tanning. I like to keep the smallest pack in my travel bag, since it is moisturizing without being oily. Likes Lightweight yet creamy texture. Smells nice but mild. Improves skin texture. Moisturizes skin well without any sticky feeling. Infused with Vitamin C & SPF 15. Comes in travel friendly packaging. Free of parabenes, mineral oil, bleaching agent & colorant. Dislikes The extra whitening part is little over the top. Bit pricey as compared to other brand. Summary : 4.5/5 Nivea Extra Whitening Cell Repair Body Lotion with SPF 15 is a moisturizing lotion without harmful chemicals such as parabenes, colorant, bleaching agents & mineral oil. The body lotion is light weight, smells mild and provides bit of sun protection. A body lotion can not be replaced be it any season, only our skin needs change. It is important to opt for a SPF infused body lotion during summer to stay tan free. Love.

Maybelline Baby Lips Vs. Nivea Fruity Shine

When I put this poll, I had some idea that Maybelline Baby Lips will be a winner. But there are still some hard core fans that still stick to Nivea. And a very small portion used others lip balms. Let’s see what makes Maybelline Baby Lips a Winner. We will compare baby lips with fruity shine against some parameters. Packaging I think Baby Lips has bold packaging while Fruity Shine has a classy one. Baby Lips has transparent lid to give a glimpse of the colour inside. While Nivea’s fruity Shine does not, but it has color coded packaging. Maybelline changes the packaging of Baby Lips almost every year to keep it interesting. Ease Of Application Since Baby Lips & Fruity Shine, both come in convenient bullet packaging. Texture Baby Lips has a creamy texture which eases the application. It glides on your lips very in a butter-smooth manner. Nivea’s Fruity Shine is little stiff bullet of wax. It literally feels like that, waxy. I feel like am applying wax on my lips. Wax is not bad, but only if it’s Bert’s Bee Wax. Pigmentation Coloured lip balms are generally preferred over colourless by youth, so that they don’t need to put on separate lip colour. And I think this the most over powering factor that makes Maybelline Baby Lips the most favourite lip balm. Baby Lips are very well pigmented and pay off great colours. The colour could be build up more even on pigmented lips. I think that makes it outstanding of all the lip balms. Nivea’s Fruity Shine just give little hint of color but that too waxy. Moisturization Power I don’t think there is much difference in the moisturization capabilities of both. They are very comparable in terms of moisture they give. Lips feel smooth and hydrated even after hours of application. Variants: Maybelline make sure to launch new range of the same lip balms every winter season. So that they are always new and in season thing. Baby Lips & Fruity Shine, both com in various shades/flavours. Price: The price of both the lip balms is comparable. There is not much difference. Both come between a range of 185-140, depending upon the type of shop you are buying from. So these were the factors that made Maybelline Baby Lips stay at the top of the lip balms. Winters make you hunt for moisturisers for different purposes. Moisturizer for your skin, moisturizer for your hair, and moisturizer for your body. I can’t stay loyal to a single product. I just get bored if I keep on using same products. I need variance & I like change. Even tough I am very much satisfied with Joy Body Lotion, I still use Nivea Body Milk, I will tell you why. Nivea Nourishing Lotion Body Milk Try NIVEA Nourishing Body Milk Lotion to meet the special needs of very dry skin. This rich and creamy formula with Hydra IQ and Almond Oil deeply moisturises & softens your dry skin effectively. Gives 24 hours moisturization. Price: Rs. 75 for 75ml, Rs. 210 for 200ml. Availability: Available offline & online. Packaging: Comes in a sturdy Nivea signature blue plastic bottle I have always liked the packaging of Nivea’s products. Ingredients: Aqua, Paraffinum Liquidum, C15 19 Alkane, Alcohol Ethanol 99.9%, Denat. 3.30% with 0.001% Denatonium Benzoate, Glycerine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Dimethicone, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Glyceryl Glucoside, Maris Sal, Sodium Carboner, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparabene, Benzyl Salicylic, Parfum. Texture, Colour & Smell: It is white coloured creamy motion which absorbs quickly without leaving stickiness behind. Smell is not pleasant. Its very chemically. My Views: I like using moisture rich body lotions, but hate the sticky feeling, Nivea Body Milk is such a body lotion which meets this criteria. I like how it gets absorbed into my skin without leaving any oily-ness or stickiness behind as opposed to Joy Body lotion, which needs little rubbing. The consistency of this body lotion feels water based, hence no stickiness. Coming to the effects, it provides hydration to my dry skin to great extent. The skin stays moisturized for 4-5 hours. Then ofcourse I re apply. There is no body lotion, which can keep skin hydrated for 24 hours non stop, until you apply some body oil. I hate the peculiar smell. I loved Nivea Cream’s smell, but don’t know why Nivea gave weird smell to this product. Sometimes its sweet but after notes of the smell are very over powering. Smell matters if you are talking about a Body Lotion. Likes: Provides hydration to dry skin. Water based consistency. No stickiness. Absorbs fast. Skin stays moisturized for 4-5 hours. Travel friendly packaging available. Dislikes: I hate the smell. Since the consistency is water based, more quantity is required each time you out it. Summary: If you can stand the smell, you will love its consistency and hydration. Hi, today am going to review an amazing product from Nivea. I was never a fond of roll-on deodorants, until I met this white doll. You can’t share a roll-on deodorant, as you can do with spray type deodorants. Plus a roll on (mostly containing alcohol) is directly applied to your bare skin, which I never liked. Almost every deodorant contains some part of alcohol, I don’t want any harmful chemical to touch my skin and damage it. I spray deodorant on my clothes. How I stumbled upon this deodorant? I was browsing through the deodorant section at a super market last year, when I saw these cute little white bottles from Nivea. I smelled one of them, and I liked what I inhaled. I grabbed Nivea Whitening Smooth Skin Deodorant. Nivea Claims: Visibly even toned & smoother underarms. 48 hours reliable protection from body odour. Feminine long lasting fragrance. Skin tolerance, dermatologically proven. Contains Vitamin C & Avocado extracts. Price: You get 50ml for Rs.185. Availability: Available online & offline at discounted prices. Ingredients: Aqua Aluminium Chloro hydrate, PPG-15 Stearyl Ether, Steareth-21, Parfum, GlycyrrhizaGlabra Root Extract, Hydrolyzed Pearl, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Persea Gratissima Oil, Glycerin, Trisodium EDTA. Packaging: It comes in a a semi transparent glass bottle with a crew on white cap. Texture Colour & Smell: Its smooth transparent gel with very mild and sweet fruity smell. My Views: I bought it because, I have something for mild & sweet smells. I can’t bear the overwhelming strong smelling deodorants. It is so mild that you will notice the smell only if you raise your arm to smell it. The consistency is non sticky & dries off quickly within few seconds. Coming to the Nivea’s claim of whitening part, it brightens the under arm area by at max 2 shades depending upon the discoloration. I notice my under arm area is visible bright after I use it continuously for 2-3 days. If I stop using it, the brightness goes away. The smoothing part- I don’t have bumpy underarms. My underarm skin is already quite smooth. But it definitely add like a little invisible layer of smoothness. Now the bad part- the smell goes away just in 2-4 hours. Since I use another spray-on deodorant, if I go out, I don’t mind using it while am still at home. Likes: The smell will please sensitive noses. Non sticky formula, which dries off/absorbs within few seconds. Makes the under arm area brighter. Also smoothens the under arm area to some extent. Beautiful and sleek packaging. Even though it’s glass bottle but it’s small enough for travels too. Dislikes: Since the smell is mild it does not last for long. This can’t work as a regular deodorant. If you sweat profoundly, this is not your deodorant. Pricey. Also it vanishes from the bottle away way to soon than the spray on deodorant. You can not share this type of deodorant with any body else for hygiene reasons. Rating: 4/5 Final Words: If you want little brighter & smoother underarms, you should definitely try this. Quick Tip: Prolong use of shaving creams & razor is harsh on the fragile skin of your underarms. This may lead to dark and bumpy under arm area. Try to get your under arms waxed. since it takes away the dead skin, leaving your under arm area cleaner & smoother. Till next time, Stay High, Stay Fab.
