As far as I remember, the trend started with NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme. Then Miss Claire Soft Matte took us on a sweet voyage. The trend did not stop and we enjoyed lip paints & soft matte lipsticks from various brands which promised beautiful finish and long lasting stay. Maybelline Color Jolt Matte Intense Lip Paint is a new range which offers beautiful shades, velvety texture & super long stay on lips.These cute small tubes of lip paint contains color rich formula which feels soft on lips. The lip paints come in the form of opaque but colored tubes with a nozzle type opening and a long black cap fitted at the opening. The opening has a hard sponge kind of fitting so that it feels soft while gliding the tube over lips. This is thoughtful but the sponge keeps on soaking up color whenever we use it. And it is badly stained. Maybelline Color Jolt Matte Intense Lip Paint 04 Show Off Nude It is one perfect nude. The nude that you want to go with your bold eye makeup or for your no-makeup-look days. To go for an understated look, Show Off Nude is a must. It won’t even wash you out no matter what skin tone you are. Maybelline Color Jolt Matte Intense Lip Paint 08 Flaunting My Pink It’s the must have Pink. It’s would mostly look flattering on all skin tone. It can be worn every day for ultra chic look. Fragrance & Texture There are hints of sweet fragrance, but it is really mild and unnoticeable until you really wanna have a feel of it. You must sniff it closely to catch a sweet scent. The texture of the lip paints is very velvety & soft. Really reminds me of NYX & Miss Claire Soft Matte. It glides very smoothly over lips. since the packaging is lip balm types, the color spreads over all the opening of the tube staining it badly. I like to keep my lippies tidy & clean. Pigmentation The pigmentation of the lip paint is very rich. One swipe across my lips and I get an opaque finish. I have no complains regarding the formula too. It’s quick drying. Also does not settle into fine lines or accentuate them. Intense color pay off cover lip pigmentation very well. Longevity The staying power of these cuties is very nice. When pigmentation of a makeup product is good, the staying power definitly impresses. The lip paints also survives mini meals. It really sticks to lips and gives 70% resistance to transfers during the initial hours. I alsways check my cups for lipstick stains. I did not find much stains when last time I was wearing – 08 Flaunting My Pink. FInish I always get soft matte finish, The perfect finish I desire from my lip products. It’s liquid lipstick but does not feel unnatural like SUGAR Liquid Lipsticks might do. Maybelline Color Jolt Lip Paints are much more easy to apply and give more natural soft matte finish without literally painting my lips. Do I Recommend Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint? Yes. I would love to hoard on some more shades from the range. Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paints give intense & rich color, offers velvety texture & soft matte finish which stays for long hours surviving mini meals in between. I am going to talk about Brilliant Red from the range which is a beautiful, bright and bold red shade from the range. I am sure you are going to like it as much as I liked it. Maybelline Color Show Bright Mattes Nail Paint Maybelline brought beautiful bright shades for your nails in matte finish. The range is inspired by the bright trends of New York. The six shades from the range are highly pigmented and super long lasting on your nails. The beautiful bright shade in matte texture really enhance the beauty of your nails. Price Rs. 175 for 6ml. Buy here. Packaging The matte nail paint comes in a transparent but frosty small glass bottle having a black long cap cum applicator at it’s mouth. The cap has fabulous bright colored graphics with Bright Mattes printed in bold. The shade name is also printed at the top of the cap. The brush applicator is very nice and handy to apply the shade on the nails. It gives enough coverage to my nails. I need two swipes of the brush side by side to cover my nails. I actually had an issue with SUGAR Tic Tac Toe nail paint brush, since they are too wide that, while going side by side during application, the second swipe always messes my first coat. Shades Available The range offers six brilliant bright bold shades – Blazing Orange, Peppy Pink, Fiery Fuschia, Cheerful Coral, Lively Rose & Brilliant Rose. Shade – Brilliant Red It is a beautiful tomato red shade. The color is bright but since the texture is matte, it goes bit muted sometimes depending upon the light conditions. But it is suitable for all skin tones. It can work as an everyday shade too since it is matte. Fragrance & Texture It has that acetone smell to it. You just can’t escape that for sure. The pungent smell stays on my nails for some time after, like for half an hour depending upon how frequently I wash my hands. Texture of the nail paint is quite runny. It is easy to take out the product since there are no clumps in the consistency. It goes smoothly on my nails and dries off as quickly as I apply it which implies the formula is quick dry. I do not have to wait for another coat which I rarely go for. Pigmentation & Finish It is highly pigmented nail paint. I would not say it is as pigmented as SUGAR Tic Tac Toe range (the range really sets a standard… doesn’t it?) . Enough pigmented to give an opaque finish in just one swipe unlike Lotus Herbals nail enamels . I hardly ever go for a second coat. The finish of the nail paint is obviously matte. Plain matte. Just my type of matte. In case you are more into shiny shades, swiping a top coat of transparent nail shade will definitely work for you. Longevity Stays about a week and there are few tears and bit of chipping since I need to perform household duties. I feel at this price, the quality & longevity of the nail paint is really awesome. I really adore this cute little pot of red matte nail paint. It really is gorgeous. It does not look really loud on my nails and goes with my skin tone. It is affordable & easily available. I really recommend this shade and this range if you are looking for matte nail paints. I just wish Maybelline brings more matte shades specially some blues & teals. My Views I think eyebrow grooming is very important unless you are blessed with naturally shaped and bushy eyebrows. For a soul in distress like me, who has very think eye brows, an eyebrow shaper becomes the utmost requirement like a lipstick. My face looks more groomed after shaping my eyebrows and filling them properly. I was bit skeptical whether Maybelline Fashion Duo shaper in grey was going to suit my complexion or not. But literally it does not look unnatural even a bit. The pencil of the shaper is bit dry so need to swipe it again and again to shape my brow. I wish it were more creamy to go smoothly on my brows. The powder, on the other hand, goes on my brows very easily and gives a fuller looks to my brows. The color does not smudge or fade, and stays intact by the end of the day. It comes off easily with face wash or wet wipe when I want to take it off at night. Honestly I do not wear it every day, but I use it when I really need a groomed look. Otherwise Cameleon eyebrow pencil works for me. Likes 2 in 1 product. Pencil shapes eyebrows while powder gives fuller brows. Sturdy & travel friendly packaging. gives natural looking brows. Comes in 2 shades. Dislikes The pencil is not that creamy in texture hence it takes a lot of pressure to get the desired color out of the pencil. Summary : 4.5/5 Maybelline Fashion Duo Pencil in grey is very handy for those who have sparse eyebrows and want perfectly sculpted & full eyebrows. The 2 in 1 product really helps getting groomed eyebrows within 2 minutes. The product is budget friendly too as it sells on discounted price now. Hi Girls, Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel is a budget friendly and colorful range for your nails. The range is Formaldehyde, DBP and Toluene free. It’s been around for a long time. the range gets juicier every season. Recently Maybelline introduced Matte shades in the already existing colors. I shall talk about the matte range some other time. Today I am going to write about a quirky shade from the range – Ladies Night. It is a pretty bold shade for night outs & high time. I like to wear it for some extra oomph factor. Hope you too like it. The range is pretty fabulous considering the shade variants & colors and not to forget the different textures available in the range. You can find nail polish, nail color, nail lacquer, mattes, shiny colors, glitter and what not. The glitter range did not really impress me with the pigmentation, but other variants are pretty good considering the price range. Price Rs. 110 for 6ml. Buy here at discounted price. Packaging Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel comes packed in small cylindrical pots with black cap & applicator brush at the top. The packaging is quite prone to breakage if accidentally dropped on the floor. I already broke 2 shades from the range without even wearing them once on my nails. The applicator is thin but efficient, I like it since it makes it easy to apply the color on my not so wide nails. Shade – Ladies Night 006 This is a beautiful electric blue shade. It is bright & bold. It is full of shine and looks very glamorous on my nails. The fabulous shade is perfect for night puts & parties. Fragrance & Texture The nail paint is very runny. It drips if taken in excess. I wipe of the extra paint against the mouth of the bottle. Fragrance in a nail paint can not be avoided. This too smells heavily of acetone, which stays on nails after application for about half an hour or so. Pigmentation The pigmentation of the nail enamel is actually impressive. Even though it is runny but it is not thin in color. It gives nice opaque finish to the nail in the very first stroke. Make sure to let the color dry off before putting up another layer to avoid application. Finish The nail enamel gives nice shine to the nails with opaque color. The nails look really beautiful as well as glamorous at the same time. Shiny nails are definitely a must have for night outs. Longevity If you do not do much household stuff, then the shade & shine will stay intact for about 4-5 days, as I have tested. But if you have to take care of home & other homely duties, of course you will notice loss of shine as well as color chipping off from the top of your nails in just 2-3 days. You should wear gloves while carrying out cleaning etc. to take care of your nails & hands in general. Likes Maybelline Color Show Nail Enamel Ladies Night is quite bold & quirky. Nice smooth texture. The paint is free of Formaldehyde, DBP and Toluene. Applicator is efficient. Packaging is compact. Budget friendly. Easily available. Lots of variants in shade & texture available. Pigmentation is good. Longevity is good if take care of your hands. Dislikes Not every shade from the range is that much pigmented. The peach shade I got with this Ladies Night, was very thin in consistency and the pigmentation was not that good. Also the glittery shades does not have much color to them. The color pay off is less while glitter is quite chunky. Summary : 4.5/5 I absolutely like the range for the budget factor associated with this range. Shiny shades are worth trying from this range. Dark shades are nice in color pay off. So, if you lose this outer pack, you are going to miss every bit of technical detail except for the expiry date. Texture & Smell The texture is very smooth and moisturizing capability is medium. The bullet is soft so the product applies to my lips quickly without heavy tug or pull. The balm does not settle into fine lines of my lips. I keep my balm stick in normal temperature but thankfully it is not showing any indication of melting till now. This lip balm has fresh mint kind of smell. The fragrance is very light and soothing. Shade -Pink Alert The shade Pink Alert is a bubblegum pink colour with neutral undertones. This particular undertone, in my opinion, works on everybody. The shade looks quite vibrant in the bullet and this vibe of pink is maintained as you apply it to your lips. This kind of pink shade is perfect for everyday purposes like while going to office or college. Shade – Vivid Peach It is a coral red-orange shade with warm undertones. The shade is perfect for all skin tones. This shade is a basic coal shade lip tint that everyone can use for daily purpose specially in the summer months. People who shy away from orange or coral shades will find it a good option to get acquainted with bold yet muted lip colour. Shade – Beaming Violet It is a pink-purple kind of lip tint with bluish undertones. Though it is cool toned shade, it suits Indian complexions because it gives translucent finish. Though the shade is neonish, it has subtlety that makes it a nice shade for college, office or outings Pigmentation Pigmentation is very good with this Bright Out Loud! series of lip balms and the shades too is blessed with good colour-payoff. In 3-4 swipes the original colour comes to the lips in translucent form. Staying Power This lipbalm stays put on my lips for 3-4 hours without any meal or drink. After that the moisturizing balmy part starts to go off. The tint, however, remains for 2-3 more hours. Finish This lip balms give shiny finish to the lips. Though the shine is not too dramatic like lip glosses, it looks natural on the lips. My Views I have dry lips that get chapped even in the summers if I am not using a proper lip moisturizer and my homemade lip scrub. I keep a set of tinted lip balms handy for everyday sort of going-outs. I was lacking a pink lip balm with neutral tones that’s why I ended up buying this particular shade of lip balm from the Bright Out Loud! collection. All three shades felt superb both lip moisturizing capability wise and tint wise. This lip balm is not too greasy like the Spiced Up! Range of Baby Lips while not too light as Baby Lips’ Electro Pop range. The staying power and pigmentation are good too. It has very freshening minty fragrance and gives slight tingly feeling to the lips immediately after application. The shade gives a natural pink to my lips which has already earned me lots of compliments as well! Likes Vibrant shade with translucent colour pay-off Pink Alert is a bubblegum pink shade with neutral undertones Provides with enough moisture required for hot summer days Refreshing peppermint fragrance and slight tingling sensations Staying power is good and the shade is suitable for all skin tones Funky packaging Dislikes Could not find any Summary: 5/5 I would suggest these lip balms to every skin tone who are interested in an under 200 bucks lipbalm with an everyday sort of a lip tint. The Least favourite from my Stash : Maybelline Colorshow Violet Delight 405

My stash is full of Maybelline Colorshow Lipsticks out of which there are some that are close to my heart while there are some which I like to use but does not flatter my skin tone, and there is that one lipstick that I just can’t stand. Violet Delight is the one, that I just can’t apply for even an hour. There is nothing wrong with the lipstick, but it’s just me. This is a plum lipstick. Why I got it in the first place if I do not like it? Well, I got it when I was down with “Plum” fever. I was hoarding everything plum. I got NYX plum palette too, but that was a worthy investment. I am still loving the palette. It has six different shades of plum & burgundy. Okay so coming back to the lipstick. It is plum, very plumy. The only problem is the finish that it gives to me. It is way to glossy for a plum lipstick. The NYX palette has satin finish but it almost set as matte. Plums are good as long as they are matte (atleast to my liking). Texture wise it is creamy as other lipsticks from the range. Glides on lips smoothly giving nice color pay off in the very first swipe. Pigmentation is good & buildable. 2 swipes are enough to cover pigmented lips. This is a dark plum shade hence pigmented lips too get a nice shade. The finish is glossy. I blot the glossiness, but I still do not like the look of this lipstick on my lips. I just do not like it internally. I apply it only when I just think, there must be some way I can look good with this lipstick. But no, I just can’t & I wipe it right away. I just realized I should try it as a creamy eyeshadow. It’s been a while since I did a pout post err.. I mean a lipstick post. So here I am back with a review of a lipstick from Maybelline ColorShow range, which is a great hit due to it’s formula & color range. I am going to talk about a shade Cream Caramel 306 which I thought would be a brownish but is rather a fellow from red family. Brands often come with such misleading name I tell you. Another red goes into my kitty. When I got this particular lipstick, I actually went to have a look at the newly launched nude shades from Maybelline. But somehow I ended up buying another ColorShow lipstick. About Maybelline ColorShow Intense Fashionable Lipcolor You will love this creamy formula with intense color that too in a wide range. The lipsticks contain ultra hydrating formula while giving a satin finish to your lips. The formula is so intense that the color does not fade away even in humid conditions. Packaging It comes in black bullet with a color coded band at the mid to recognize the color family. The packaging is sturdy and classic. I quite like it. Texture & Smell The lipstick is very creamy. The formula is highly hydrating for sure. The lipsticks glide on lips very easily giving intense colour. The lipstick also contain some very fine shimmer which are not visible upon application. Maybe the glossiness of the lipstick can be attributed to the fine shimmer present in the lipstick. There is a very mild and chocolaty sweet smell present in the lipstick. The fragrance is very faint so you will notice the smell only you put efforts to. Shade – Cream Caramel 306 I associate Caramel to brown, so when I read the shade name, I thought it might be some nude shade which it is not. Caramel should lean more towards brown, while this shade leans more towards Red. Sometimes it looks subtle Coral while sometimes it looks Peachy. However, it suits my wheatish skin tone. The shade contains fine shimmers and hence sheen can be noticed on the lips after wearing it. The formula is intense in hydration as well as pigmentation. Pigmentation I have noticed the pigmentation of this range is impressive. I have used few lipsticks from this range all of the have fared well on the pigmentation front. Longevity This lipstick lasts for 3-4 hours only. I am left with a reddish tint afterwords. That is quite expected from a creamy lipstick. Finish The finish of the lipstick is little is satin smooth, which can be toned down by blotting. There are very fine shimmers in the formula which gives nice sheen to the lips. When the glossiness goes away, the shimmer particles are more visible on lips. Likes Creamy texture. Satin finish. Impressive pigmentation. Peachy-coral shade. Hi Girls, Peach is a very girly colour and attracts me a lot, be it a peach dress or a lip color. While a peach dress suits me very well, a peach lip colour is tricky to flaunt. I still have got a lot of peach lip colours. Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipstick Peach Personality is a very lovely peach as the name suggests. I own Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipsticks in Rock The Coral, Peach Personality, Bold Crimson & few more. Where Rock The Coral is my go to pink, Peach Personality is definitely not an every day lipstick for me. But I try to wear it as often as I can. About Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipstick This range is matte but creamy. This is a fabulous formula. The finish is matte without feeling dry on lips. The range contains a lot of colours to suit your every mood. Maybelline Claims about this range: Enriched with ultra-care hydrating formula Lip color doesn’t fade in extreme heat and humidity Shades stay true without drying up your lips Price Rs. 325 -250. Buy here. Packaging It comes in a black tube with a colour coded band at the waist of the lipstick. The band denotes the shade of the lipstick. The shade no and name are also printed at the bottom of the lipstick. The packaging is sturdy and classy, I feel. I like square packaging when it comes to a lipstick rather than round tube. This tube also comes in square packaging but the edges are not that sharp. Shade The shade Peach Personality M303, is a pure peach lipstick, which is going to suit fair tones mostly. I am wheatish, but the shade washes me out if I wear more than 2 swipes of this lipstick. I mostly blot down the lipstick after first swipe, it looks little pinkish peach. Later after the second swipe, it looks more peachy but does not wash me away. I feel light & fair skinned girls can flaunt it fabulously but if you have wheatish to medium skin tone, you have to take it really easy. Less is more. Blotting it with a tissue may help and can bring down the tone to pinky peach. Taste, Texture & Smell I detest those lipsticks & lip colours which give some kind of taste. The Creamy Matte range of Maybelline lipsticks does not have any taste to offer. The lipstick smells mildly sweet, does not bother my sensitive nose much. This lipstick belongs to the Creamy Matte range, but it is more of a creamy lipstick and less of matte. The lipstick is way too creamy to offer matte finish. It glides on my lips like butter. I notice there is very fine shimmer in the lipstick though hardly visible on lips. Pigmentation I am impressed with the pigmentation of this range of Maybelline lipsticks. Peach Personality is a light shade but it is decently pigmented. One swipe will give the exact amount of peachiness to lips. Finish It is very very creamy. If I apply more than 2 swipes of this lipstick, it gets little patchy. It never gives a matte finish until I blot it with a tissue, but then the real colour of the lipstick is also lost and I find a pinkish peach tint on my lips. Longevity Since the lipstick shade is very light and the texture is very cream, it does not last as long as the other shades of Creamy Matte range. It stays on my lips only for about 2-3 max. But I love the tint it leaves behind. Likes Creamy consistency. Does not dry out my lips. Very pretty colour. Affordable. Easily available. A wide range of shades available. Dislikes This particular shade, washes out my wheatish skin. This shade does not last long on my lips. Does not give matte finish as compared to other darker shades. The bullet keeps on breaking while applying it since it is very creamy. Summary The Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipstick is high quality range with wide verity of shades. The range is very affordable too. But this particular shade Peach Personality is not for every one. Also since it is very creamy you can not expect matte finish out of this shade. I would not recommend this shade to medium to dusky skin tones. Let’s move ahead to today’s review, it’s a lipstick from Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipcolor Range. I am just very impressed from this range. It’s just so perfect. Creamy, yet matte and that too long lasting. Beautiful shades. Affordable. I think I just summarised every thing here. But still I would love to do a detailed post on this recent buy, Bold Crimson Lipstick from this range. About Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipcolor Bold Crimson I am so in love with the formula of these lipsticks. They are just so desirable. Creamy on while giving matte finish. Range, shade name and shade number are printed at the bottom of the lipstick. The packaging is sturdy. Taste, Texture & Smell As the name suggests, the range is creamy yet matte. The lipstick is really moisturising. I really like the formula. I prefer lipsticks that are matte, but a matte lipstick goes really flat on lips accentuating dryness of the lips. But not the Colorshow Creamy Matte range from Maybelline. I have used quite a handful of lipsticks form this range, and I never faced patchy lips. Being creamy the lipstick glides very smoothly on my lips. I didn’t notice any smell out of the lipstick. But if I really try to smell out of the bullet, there is very mild sweet smell. The lipstick does not give any weird taste too. Shade This Colorshow Creamy Matte range has a wide verity of shades. My recent buy from this range is Bold Crimson M201, which is a very beautiful deep red shade. The shade, will flatter all the skin tones, and wearable during day and night. Winter is a season to flaunt deep lipcolors and this shade perfectly fits the bill. Pigmentation Pigmentation of this lipstick is really intense because, this shade is deep. But then, I found all the lipsticks from this range are nicely pigmented. One swipe across my lips gives immense colour to my lips. Colour could be built up by layering without looking patchy. The colour pay off is one of the strongest USP of this lipstick. Longevity Since the lipstick is highly pigmented and the shade is deep, you can expect wonderful coloured lips for hours. I mean, I really put it on and just forget checking lips again. After 4-5 hours, I would still find a base on my lips. This lipstick is abale to survive meals and sips, but initially it transfers because it is creamy. Final Finish The lipstick has creamy matte formula. So initially I find some satin finish, but once set, the lipstick gives matte finish. Likes Moisturizing. Matte finish. Lasts really long. Survives meals and sips. Smooth application. Intense pigmentation. Wide range of shades in this particular range. Affordable. Easily available. Dislikes Being creamy, it transfers to the objects that touch my lips, initially.
