How much SUGAR is too much SUGAR? Before you go like I should not be having too much sugar, let me tell you I don’t have a sweet tooth but sweet lips. I love SUGAR Matte As Hell Crayon Lipsticks to the core. They are one of the best crayon lipsticks I have ever come across. One of the best product by SUGAR actually, according to me. So today I am going to share 5 of my favorite shades from the range which are Holly Golightly, Rose Dawson, Brandy Harrington, Jessica Day and Scarlett O’Hara. 5 Most Favorite SUGAR Matte As Hell Crayon Lipsticks If you ask me, crayon lipsticks are the most comfortable matte lipsticks. I prefer crayon lipsticks over bullet because the former give better finish without making lips go dry. Also Crayons are more fun. I don’t recognize myself as a liquid lipstick person, unless it’s Nykaa Matte To Last range, which has pretty beautiful texture. Crayon lipsticks are easy to apply even if you are a beginner. While a liquid lipstick needs great precision and patience. Even though I am a veteran when it comes to lipsticks, I still prefer crayons. Let’s talk about my favorite lip crayons from SUGAR. SUGAR Matte As Hell Lip Crayon Holly Golightly 04 Holly Golightly is on my most used and abused lipstick. It basically belongs t the nudes family. It has a very subtle peachy pink tint that would suit every single Indian Skin Tone. It flatters not just every skin tone but every mood. I have worn it with no makeup, with lots of makeup and it never failed me. It never made me look understated, and never let me go OTT. It has that perfect amount of color, one should have on her lips when she wants to play it quite. SUGAR Matte As Hell Lip Crayon Rose Dawson 05 If you are a wheatish girl like me, then you want your pink to be subtle and red to be fierce. Rose Dawson, is another winner for me. Taking out peach from Holly Golightly and adding a bit of more pink, gives you Rose Dawson. If wondering about the name, it came from Rose DeWitt Bukater and Jack Dawson from the movie Titanic. Rose Dawson is a beautiful, true and romantic pink. I wear it on the days, I wanna wear some color on my lips, but without having to announce it. A coral shade is a mix of red and orange, but not every body gets it right. SUGAR nailed it. It’s perfect. This coral shade has warm undertones which makes it wearable for every skin tone. I bet you will fall in love with this shade if you ever tried it. SUGAR Matte As Hell Lip Crayon Scarlett O’Hara 01 It was Scarlett O’Hara, which introduced me to the awesome world of SUGAR Matte As Hell Lipsticks. It was my first ever lipstick from the range. It has a special place in my heart. This is a beautiful red shade with warm undertones. Before, Jessica Day came along, I wore Scarlett on my lips on every special occasions. On the days when I wanted to feel powerful and resonate the same to the world, I wore this rich red on my lips. It speaks of brevity. It’s the red you always desired and dreamed of. SUGAR Matte As Hell Lip Crayon Brandy Harrington 17 I am not a fan of earthy brown shades, but once in a while I grab a shade, just to check if my preference has changed. I would never like to be seen wearing a brown shade, but sometimes, you do things that even you don’t understand, like getting a Brandy Harrington. Even though I had a failed relationship with another brown lipstick Viola, Brandy seemed like a mature girl, who understood, I could get cold feet and respected that. It’s a muted brown shade, for the days when you want to go against the current. When you want to think on a different direction. There are several brown shade lovers, I may not be among them, but this is one shade, I still adore. Performance If you are new to the world of SUGAR Matte AS Hell Crayon Lipsticks, let me tell you these are the best one can have in the segment. The smoothest texture, matte finish and long hour stay will really win you over. The only thing you might not like about these lippies is that they need to be sharpened every now and then. I smeared SUGAR Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick Viola on my lips as soon as I discovered it in my fab bag in January 2018. And for 3 days, this is the only lipstick I am wearing on my lips. Matte As Hell is my favorite range from SUGAR Cosmetics. I like the texture, shade collection & longevity of this range. I have already used Scarlet O Hara & Holy Golightly from the range. SUGAR keeps on releasing beautiful shades in this range and it’s really hard to resist. How To Identify A Good Quality Matte Lipstick? I am quite obsessed with lipsticks, especially matte ones. I have had my fair share of hits and fails of matte lipsticks. You want the matte finish on your lips, that is just fine, but a matte lipstick does not need to dry out your lips or make you feel uneasy. A good quality matte lipstick has just the right amount of moisture in it to soothe your lips, create a protective layer on your lips and still, look matte. I also hate the lipsticks that accentuate fine lines. Most of the matte lipsticks fail on this front. Well, this flaw arises in case of a lack of moisture. So there are a few points that you must keep in mind while choosing your matte lipstick. Don’t fall just for a pretty shade. Tip: If you matte lipstick lacks moisture, apply a layer of clear lip balm before applying the lipstick. SUGAR Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick 07 Viola Viola is a very pretty shade. It’s a mix of peach and brown which results in an everyday kind of shade. But after wearing the shade for a few minutes the brown hue starts to take over. The lipstick shade changes to brownish from peachy-brown. The shade is suitable for all skin types. Price & Packaging The range is available at Rs. 699. You can buy it from Amazon This is a crayon lipstick hence comes in the form of a sharpenable pencil. Honestly, I am not a fan of this feature of the pencil. But somewhere you have to compromise. There is a color band at the bottom of the pencil to give you an idea of the shade of the pencil. Ingredients Fragrance & Texture SUGAR Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick range is quite good in terms of moisture and it glides very smoothly & effortlessly on lips. The moisture content in the lipstick can be felt while applying it. Otherwise, lipstick would have demanded a bit of pressure. With just a light hand, you can swipe the lipstick over your lips and you will be done. There is almost no fragrance or taste to the product. Pigmentation The range deserves an applause for the color pay off it offers. The rich and creamy formula gives nice pigmentation. Be it any shade from this range, light or dark, there is no compromise on the pigmentation front. Viola too is intensely pigmented. One swipe gives an opaque finish. Finish The finish is undoubtedly matte the very moment you apply it. The formula is wonderful that without feeling drying on lips it gives a matte finish. After a few minutes, the finish feels a bit powdery but does not feel uncomfortable. Longevity Good pigmentation of lipstick results in long-lasting performance. Viola too gives a nice stay. It stays for 4-5 hours if I follow the standard way – Apply-Blot-Apply. Likes Beautiful & bold shades in the range. Creamy & moisturizing formula. Soft matte finish. Beautiful matte finish. The shade is a beautiful mix of peach & brown. After sharpening, it can be used as a lip liner too. Ships with a sharpener. Dislikes The price could be better. It fades away. Rose Crush – Muted Pink 02. Cat Fight – Orangish Red 03 Barbie Pink – Cool toned bright pink 04 Whipped Caviar – Peachy Orange 05 Violet Edition – Violet 06 Hypnotic Rose– Cool Red Even though the shades are quite limited but Bella Voste has tried covering up every complexion. Shade- 02 Cat Fight It’s a very pretty shade. It’s a beautiful mix of orange and red. It’s a bright and very girl-i-e shade. If you like to pull some bold looks but don’t want to go for classic reds, this shade could be a perfect match. Fragrance & Texture This crayon lipstick has a very fainted sweet smell which is not much noticeable. Texture wise, it is quite smooth and creamy to apply. When a lipstick is creamy I really enjoy swiping it through my lips. It’s kind of a great pleasure if you have tried it. The formula is moisture rich hence, lips feel moisturized too after application. After few minutes the texture becomes more matte but the lipstick does not dry out the lips. Pigmentation Pigmentation of Bella Voste Ulti Matte Chuuby Stick is impressive. The color pay off is very nice. Two swipes give maximum coverage to lips. But then I don’t mind it re swiping just for pleasure. Longevity It stays for 3-4 hours surviving meals. I think it’s good. It is creamy, moisturizing but still stays on lips. It does transfer a bit in the initial hour but strong stain stays on lips. But when you want to remove the stain it goes away easily with a makeup remover/oil. Finish The lipsticks give semi matte finish initially but later the texture of the lipstick change to complete matte. But I like that it does not feel uncomfortable over lips. I do get that feeling with liquid lipsticks. One chubby stick is done transferring it settles down to complete matte finish. Do I Recommend Bella Voste Ulti Matte Chubby Lipstick? Yes. I too would like to own few more shades from the range. Bella Voste Ulti Matte Chubby Lipstick is a nice range. The lipsticks are moisturizing, creamy and gives soft matte finish. I recently came to know about Le-Felix which is a cosmetic brand from Thailand. This brand offers beauty, cosmetic & personal care for women. Thai beauty bloggers are already going gaga over the brand. The brand’s tagline is ” because everyone deserves to be beautiful…!!“. I got two liquid lipsticks & 3D Mink Eyelashes in two styles. I usually don’t wear fake eyelashes since I already have nice thick eye lashes. Also wearing and taking them off requires bit of an effort. But sometimes you make an exception. Specially when you can’t shake off the beauty of a product. Today I am going to take you on a virtual tour of Le-Felix Cosmetics including the lipsticks & eyelashes. Hop on & buckle up. Le Felix Matte Lipsticks I consider matte lipsticks a blessing. I really want to thank whomsoever invested them. They are like God Sent for me. I have really oily face and wearing a glossy finish over my lips, really accentuates my problem. Though I don’t mind flaunting a satin finish during winter, but that’s all. Le-Felix Matte Lipsticks are very light weight despite of being matte. Yes that’s actually a huge concern for me. When you talk about matte lipsticks they mostly feel like paint. They literally coat lips unnaturally and give a very cakey finish. Le Felix Matte Lipsticks give a soft matte finish to lips. The formula of the lipsticks is very fine. I like how buttery soft the formula feels on lips. The wand goes pretty smoothly over lips. The consistency of the liquid lipsticks is just perfect. It’s neither too runny nor too thick. Just perfect. The lipsticks come packaged in beautiful transparent tubes. There are some gold accents at the opening of the tube with a black wand. The packaging is nice and appealing as well as sturdy and travel friendly. Pigmentation of the lipsticks is impressive. One swipe gives opaque finish while another swipe brings beautiful color to lips. The colors set very quickly and do not transfer much. The longevity of the lipsticks is very relative to the shades though. Le Felix Matte Lipstick – LE02 This is a very pretty Deep Red shade. It is so damn flattering. It will suit every skin tone. The shade stays for about 3-4 hours on my lips and then it starts fading a bit. Le Felix Matte Lipstick – LE04 Every lipstick range must have a nude shade. LE04 is a Beautiful Nude shade from the range. I think this shade is more for light to medium skin tones while dark skin tones might wash out using this shade. I really love this shade, but its staying power is bit lower than LE02. Le Felix Professional 3D Eyelashes When you want to look special, eyelashes can really make a huge difference. There are so many styles that you can opt for. If you have small eyes, you should go for lengthening eyelashes, otherwise you opt for any style. I liked the 3D eyelashes that I received from Le Felix. The two styles that I received from the brand has a very nice length to add to my eyelashes. The outcome is amazing. The styles work beautifully on my small and deep set eyes. The eyelashes are meant for professional use. Hence the quality is top notch. The eyelashes are made of synthetic hair. How To Use Le Felix Professional 3D Eyelashes At Home? Pick out the eyelashes from the case with the help of tweezers. In case the lashes needs to be trimmed to fit your eyes, trim from the outer edge to retain the natural shape. Apply a thin line of adhesive on the eyelash band starting from the middle of the eyelashes till the end. Wait for 30 seconds and then apply the fake lashes upon your lash line. Flaunt your lashes. How To Take Care Of Your Fake Lashes? Le-Felix 3D Eyelashes are reusable. You just need to make sure that you take care of the lashes after removing them. But don’t worry, it’s not that tough. Just follow these steps: Dip a cotton swab in your eye makeup remover. Gently swipe across the lash band and lashes to clean it thoroughly. Re-swipe if the eye makeup is still there. But the intensity of the color stays same. I have worn these lipsticks for more than 6 hours in a day without any touch ups. You can’t get rid of the color from your lips without using a nice makeup remover. To get rid of the color, I prefer to massage my lips with almond oil and then wipe off with wet cotton ball. I find there is quite less control over application because the applicator handle is quite long. Sweet Seductive Lipstick 01 Shade no 01 is a bubbly pink very wearable shade. It has bit warm undertones, hence will suit every skin tone. It won’t look loud or wash out complexion. Such colors are my go to shades. Sweet Seductive Lipstick 05 This is a shade which is apt to fall/winter season. It is a pretty intense wine/plum shade. I don’t wear such shades in every day life but it’s a shade that can really add some extra oomph factor to your looks. It should be definitely for special special evenings. Fragrance & Texture There is bit artificial cosmetic smell which is not much pleasant but is quite mild hence bearable. You won’t notice anything until you really sniff the liquid lipstick glass tube. Sweet Seduction Liquid Lipsticks offer a very fine & smooth texture which go effortlessly on the lips. The touch of the lipsticks feel quite velvety on lips. The formula is quick drying hence make sure to apply evenly on lips. Pigmentation These liquid lipsticks are very high in color and give really nice color pay off. One swipe is enough to give opaque layer to lips. Since the pigmentation is so high and the formula is quick dry, it’s important to avoid any mistakes while applying the shade or you will have hard time in getting it removed partly. Finish The finish is satin first of all, but after few minutes, the lipsticks set as matte. Totally matte which is not transferable or smudge-able. I think this is the perfect liquid lipstick one can ask for. Longevity It totally lives up to it’s claim of long lasting color. I have worn these lipsticks full day long 2-3 times and the color was there at the end of the end when I reached back home. Since it’s water proof & transfer proof, it actually takes bit of an effort to get off the lips completely. I use Vanya Makeup Remover which is again from Bharti Taneja. Likes Intense Color Pay Off Rich pigmentation Long Stay Classy Packaging Nice shade selection Matte Finish Smudge proof & transfer proof color Dislikes Price is bit high. Ingredients list is missing. Yes, specially to the brides & would be brides who really need such long lasting and intense lipsticks. This is a bridal range from Bharti Taneja Makeup Essential and you just can’t miss it. Bharti Taneja Makeup Essentials Sweet Seduction Liquid Lipsticks are bridal range of lipsticks which are a perfect companion for brides & those who don’t have time to check their lipstick every hour. The lipsticks are insanely pigmented and are resistant to transfer. The lipsticks are hence long lasting & kiss proof (tested). Also can’t ignore the classy packaging. Get ready for another Lip Smacking range from Lakme Absolute Luxe Matte Lip Color With Argan Oil. I got a hold on Grand Fuchsia & Rosy Lips. Even though it’s costly but when a lipstick’s name spells LUXE, I could not control my urge to splurge. These lipsticks are another birthday gift to myself. And tell you what, I am not regretting the purchase. Lakme Absolute Lip colors were such a hit. Lakme Absolute is reinvented again with Luxe series. The slimstick packaging is almost the same as the previous series, so is the texture only better. So if you love wearing matte but moisturizing shades, you are sure going to find your perfect lipstick with this range. Lakme Absolute Luxe Matte Lip Color With Argan Oil Lakme Absolute Luxe Matte Lip Color range is infused with Argan Oil. This new range of Slimsticks from Lakme ensures you receive full color, long stay and moisture at the same time. The finish of the lipsticks give a luxurious feeling. Lips stays colored & moisturized for long. All the shades are vibrant and suitable to Indian skin tones. Price & Availability Rs. 800 for 2gm. Pretty expensive. Costlier than the previous range. Lakme is itself becoming a luxury brand itself. Exclusively available on Nykaa. Ingredients Not provided on the packaging. Packaging Lakme presents this new range of Slimsticks which have quite a luxurious look to justify the name & the price tag. The packaging literally qualifies for premium range of lipsticks. The slimsticks are shiny gold with black interior and come in black card box. Sadly no ingredient list is provided on inner or outer packaging. But the lipstick features, price & other manufacturing details are provided. Shade – Grand Fuchsia It is one fabulous fuchsia shade. It is really vibrant shade. It is going to suit even dark skin tones since it is not Neon pink but bit warm toned pink. It brightens up my face and love to wear it for outings. Shade – Rosy Lips This is quite an every day shade. It is muted pink. It has some brown undertones, again suitable for every skin tone for daily wear. It also goes well with an understated look. Fragrance & Texture There is not much fragrance to be smelled out of these lipsticks. But yes one can try and smell a faint artificial smell which is not pungent but not much pleasing either. Since it’s not noticeable hence not an issue for me. These lipsticks does not taste weird but I feel like I have painted my lips with a color. They kind of form a layer over lips. The texture of the lipsticks is pretty smooth & creamy hence moisturizing. They glide easily over my lips. Since the tip goes quite blunt easily, I must use a lip liner to create the outline first and then fill in the lipstick. Pigmentation I find that the pigmentation of the lipsticks is good. It does not require many swipes to get opaque lips full of color. Infused with Argan Oil, glides easily over lips and yields nice color. Keeping the lipsticks open for some time make the lipstick texture go bit dry. Finish The lipsticks give complete matte finish. Even though it contains Moroccan Argan Oil, there is not a trace of glossiness in the finish. There is bit of paint feeling over lips after the lipstick is set. Longevity The staying power of these lipsticks is really nice. Once set, the lipsticks do not transfer and that is the reason the lipsticks lasts long. I wore them for 6-7 hours while having full course meal without touch ups. After 6-7 hours I noticed the color was dull. I feel the lipsticks perform really well in this area. Will I Repurchase Lakme Absolute Luxe Matte Lip Color With Argan Oil? I am really impressed by the texture, pigmentation and staying power of the lipsticks is very impressive and the wide range of colors really attracts me to the range. But 800 bucks matter. I might give in for another shade but don’t see myself buying more than that form the range. It’s too costly. I can rather get a MAC lipstick with few more bucks. Summary : ❤❤❤❤❤ Lakme Absolute Luxe Matte Lip Color With Argan Oil does not require an introduction. The lipsticks are reinvented from Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Matte Lip Color. The texture, pigmentation & longevity are very impressive. The packaging is very beautiful and gives a luxurious feeling. But the price is really high. Even though the performance of the lipsticks justifies the price tag, but shelling out 800 bucks for a single lipstick is not easy for everybody. Lipsticks kind of give me hangover. Hi, Would you like to know about my current favorite lipstick? It’s Lotus Make-Up ECOSTAY Butter Matte Lip Color – Pink Petal Long Lasting lip Color. I grabbed it recently and I am loving it. Lotus Make-Up Ecostay was launched back in 2014. It consisted of Lipsticks, foundation, primer, eye shadow and every thing you ever need for a flawless look. The range still exist but we have witnessed some change in the packaging and formula. Hope you enjoy the review. Lotus Make-Up ECOSTAY Butter Matte Lip Color The Butter Matte Lip Color range is enriched with Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E & Shea Butter. The formula contains triple moisturizer hence you get buttery soft lips with each application the formula is intensely pigmented and rich. Price Rs. 625 for 4.2g. Hurts the pocket. Available on Nykaa & Other leading shopping websites. Also easily available on Lotus counter & local cosmetics shops. Ingredients No ingredient list provided. Packaging The lipstick comes in metallic card box. The card box has nice flowery design and also contains features of the lipstick. Inside you find a shining silver colored lipstick bullet. The cap of the lipstick has some purple colored flowery design imprinted over it. The packaging is very beautiful, sturdy& travel friendly. It kind of gives a luxurious feeling. Lotus Make-Up ECOSTAY Butter Matte Lip Color Shades Wicked Brown, Orange On, Burgundy Bliss, Red Rave, Wine Wish, rough Belle, Brown Bella, Rosetta, Pink Petal, Magenta Mist, Plum Pearl, Peach Pamela, Pink Precious, Sandstone, Orange Opal. Shade – Pink Petal It is a nice pink shade. It is cool toned pink but not utterly bright. It would look flattering on every skin tone. Wheatish skin tones will get most favored. The shade can be built upon, to achieve ultra glam look. Or you can keep it bit muted for everyday look. Fragrance & Texture Honestly, I just can’t smell anything out of it. But sometimes, there are sweet hints. That’s all. No weird, over the top chocolaty sweet smell. It is almost fragrance free. Texture is real creamy. It contains Shea Butter, Vitamin E & Jojoba Oil. Hence you can really expect some good moisturization for lips. It literally feels buttery smooth lips. No need to put lip balm underneath the lipstick. It takes care of all the dryness. Pigmentation The pigmentation of the lipstick is decent. With one stroke it gives semi opaque coverage while another swipe gives nice color. It’s a light shade, it does not have that much pigmentation as much we actually expect from a 625 bucks lipstick. So I would like to give it benefit of doubt. At the store though, the lipstick showed great pigmentation. Maybe the SA used quite a force upon the tester. While I am being ultra careful not to spoil the shape of the lipstick. Finish It give purely matte finish. Even though it contains triple moisturizing agents and feels like butter on lips, it still gives matte finish. that is really impressive. If you remember, my last lipstick review, Colorbar feel the rain gives semi matte finish since it is moisturizing too. But this lipstick from Louts, despite of being moisturizing, gives nice matte finish. Lakme 9 To 5 Primer + Matte range also gives matte finish but is 50% less miosturizing than Lotus Make-up Ecostay Butter Lip Color Range. Longevity It stays on my lips for decent time. It does not go away easily because of the finish. At most it has stayed on my lips for 4-5 hours, when I ate small meals in between. After about 5 hours, I could see the intensity of the color was bit down, but my lips were evenly pigmented with pastel pink color. I liked the fact that it does not go patchy or goes off the lips in patches. Summary ❤❤❤❤ I really like this range of lipstick from Louts Make-up Ecostay Butter Lip Color. It has some nice colors to offer. The lipsticks are highly moisturizing. Does not dry out lips or settle into fine lines. the color is long lasting and does not come off in weird way. It is pricey, no argument. I would have grabbed few more shades from the range, given the range was more affordable. Also the ingredient list is missing. Have you tried this range of lipsticks?
