Let me be honest here and tell you that I do not use much makeup tools, whenever I am doing my makeup. Sometimes I would apply even eye shadow with my ring finger, it’s because either I am lazy or I am in hurry. But it does not mean that, I overlook the necessity of having & using makeup tools. Beauty blenders, for example, I find them very effective to get a flawless base. I like to use Puna Store Miracle Complexion Sponge, whenever I do makeup with all my peace gathered around me. I always crave to have that flawless base, with no streaks of foundation visible & which feels like my second skin. This sponge from Puna Store, delivers very satisfactory results. When Sreeparna talked about PAC makeup wedges, I realized, I too have this sponge, that I shall review for you. Let’s talk about this makeup sponge in detail. About Puna Store Miracle Complexion Sponge Get a flawless base with the help of this 3 in 1 multi functional sponge. Rounded sides will give better coverage at large area while the pointed tip will help to cover imperfections. Use the flat bottom under the eyes & nose. Made with latex free polyurethane foam, it has a versatile design. Now put on your makeup with ease and step out with smooth & enhanced finish. Price Rs. 499 for 1 piece of sponge. How To Use The sponge comes in a very functional shape. It has rounded sides, a flat bottom & a pointed tip. The sponge can be used dry or wet, I would recommend using it when damp. Dip it into the water & squeeze out all the water before using it. You either apply the product with the help of this sponge or can use the sponge to blend foundation/makeup after applying it with fingers. Use the rounded sides to blend the makeup on large areas of your face. Use the flat bottom to get flawless coverage under your eyes & nose. Use the pointed tip to cover the imperfections efficiently. How To Take Care Of The Sponge It’s really easy, put it under running water for few seconds, use a mild shampoo or brush cleanser to take out any product residue or until you feel the sponge is clean. Wash it again under running water to make sure all the soap is gone. Place it somewhere to dry it completely before using it again. I also try to put my sponge tools to put in direct sun light so that they do not develop any germs. You can wash it after every use or choose to wash it after using it for 2-3 times. But Do not use it more than that in one stretch, it would not work that effectively & may also lose it’s quality Packaging The sponge comes in a transparent packaging with product information printed on it. The sponge is light orange colored, and is almost is the size of an egg. It has a pointed tip and a flat bottom which makes it look exquisite, in my opinion and easy to hold too. Color & Texture The sponge is light orange colored, high quality sponge. Even after upon damping, I do not see major change in the size of the sponge, it means it is densely packed, hence can be used dry to apply the products. It won’t soak up much product. Less product wastage. The surface of the sponge is very smooth, hence gives very even finish. My Experience I feel it is quite a quality product. It is very affordable too. I got it from Amazon.in, where it sells just at Rs. 220, you save really big. Before using this sponge I was using Faces Foundation brush, to apply foundation, which used to give me nice finish too. Next I invested in this sponge, since every one was so raving about beauty blenders (such a fancy name, isn’t it?). I got my hands on it, since I just did not want to go ahead with a high end costly thing, since I mostly use my fingers to apply foundations (as I mentioned earlier). But I am happy to have this, I actually learned it is so much better to use a sponge than fingers sometimes to apply foundation or any base makeup. Dampening the sponge really does some real magic here. The moisture in the sponge gets transferred to your skin and you get a luminous and even finish. I have quite uneven skin texture due to acne/acne scarring, so it is tricky to achieve even finish with fingers, but this sponge works beautiful to help me get a much better finish. My foundation does not look caked up even if I apply multiple layers with this sponge. I do not have any issues with this sponge, as such except the fact that it has to be washed & dried every time I use it, sometimes it is too much of work for a lazy mother. Likes Quite functional design. Single sponge can blend makeup on the whole face including under eye area, nose & even small imperfections. Does not soak much product even if used dry. Very affordable. High quality product. Designed with Latex free foam. Dislikes None Summary : 5/5 Puna Store Miracle Complexion Sponge is a wonderful beauty blender and helps me achieve non cakey look without disturbing coverage. The product is high quality but is very affordable among all. I am also interested in using Puna Store’s makeup brushes they look quite fascinating. Have you used any product from Puna Store? Do you use a beauty blender? What is your experience? New to makeup & makeup brushes? Read this to get to know more about various makeup tools. Love.

Guest Review by Sreeparna Ganguly Makeup artists say, the kind of coverage and finish you are about to get from your foundation, cream blush or contouring products is highly dependent on the makeup tool you are using. If you are striving for natural to airbrush type finish, makeup sponges are the tools you should use. After the huge success of Beauty Blender, the Indian makeup market is now-a-days flooded with various kinds of makeup sponges with various price tags. Professional Artist Cosmetics aka PAC Cosmetics, a very raved-about brand in the blogosphere, makes some excellent makeup products and tools within everyone’s reach. Recently I purchased a set of 8 Wedge Makeup Sponge from them to try my hands on soak-and-use base-makeup applicator. Here is what I found about the product. About PAC Wedge Makeup Sponge Makeup Sponge Easy contouring, highlighting and concealing, even great with cream and powder eye shadow How to Use Soak the sponge in water and slightly squeeze the water out, you want the sponge to be semi-wet. Pick up the product with the more rounded side of the sponge. Stipple the foundation onto your face. Use the pointed side of the sponge for hard to get areas like around your nose or under your eyes. How to Take Care Of The Wedges Too reuse Cosmetic makeup puff, wash with mild soap and rinse thoroughly with warm water. For best results, use a fresh Cosmetic makeup puff for each application. Price Rs.150 for 8 Pcs. Buy here. Packaging This 8 piece set of wedge sponges are housed in a plastic reusable pouch. The front side of the pouch is made up of transparent plastic, making the wedges clearly visible from outside. The backside of the pouch is coloured in black and is completely opaque. All the product details are to be found in the back of the pack in white fonts. The packaging is nothing too fancy but reliable in terms of travel-safeness and compaction. If you put the sponges in the pouch and zip the vacuum-seal, the product is not going to go anywhere for sure! Color & Texture The sponges are milky white in colour. They are quite soft yet dense. When I soak my wedge in water, its size and softness increases noticeably. It takes at least 3-4 hours in even very hot climate to get fully dried. So, we can call its water carrying capacity excellent. Another good thing about the product is that, it does come back to its original shape as it dries off. Longevity These sponges are quite long-lasting. From the pictures you must have seen that only one sponge is dirty. That is because I did not need to replace it till now. I have already done 25-30 uses out of it and the condition of my sponge has not deteriorated a bit. It seems like this 150 bucks set of sponges would last me really long! My Experience I like to have natural finish to my face makeup which is not possible with fingers only. Whenever I am applying tinted product, I first warm it up with fingers and then spread it on the face. I use this wedge sponge for blending purpose only. This keeps my sponge cleaner and prevents wastage of foundation. This product needs to be soaked before use, just like any other Beauty Blender type products. 5-6 soaks-and-squeezes in plain water are enough to prepare my wedge for action. If I am applying powder product with it, I skip soaking and use it dry. To get optimal performance out of it, I try to take care of my sponge. I never ever forget to air dry it after each use. I have noticed one thing; these PAC wedges are very good at stipple-blending. I can complete the whole blending business within 1-2 minutes. Moreover, I get even and natural finish! I must say, I am quite impressed at the effectiveness of these wedges. Previously I used to have a lot of trouble to prevent my foundation from caking up. This problem got solved completely after I started to use this wonder product. Likes Provides efficient and quick blending of the base-makeup Easy to use and easy to clean product Reaches even the most unreachable nooks of the face Value for money product Soft and fluffy texture Maintains original shape Dislikes Could not find any Summary : 5/5 I would suggest this Makeup Sponge set to anybody who is in want of good quality wedge-shaped makeup sponge to apply foundation, contour, blush, powder or eyeshadow. I think everyone (from amateurs to pros) should try this product at least once. Tell me how does these makeup wedges sound to you? Leave your comments below. Take Care.
