Hello Girls, How you been? Friday is getting over and we are headed to the weekend. Just an awesome feeling.. no? Let’s hit the Friday eve with some color. I am going to review Lakme Enrich Matte Lipstick for you. This budget friendly lipstick has been around from a while & has comparable performance to Maybelline ColorShow Matte range. It has almost the same formula & pigmentation as that of the colorshow range from Maybelline. Let’s get to know this beauty more closely. About Lakme Enrich Matte Lipstick Say hello to creamy yet matte lipsticks from Lakme. The gorgeous shades are here to treat you with love. Lakme came up with matte colors that will suit Indian skin tones. The color is intense yet moisturizing on lips. Fluent the fabulous matte lips. Price Rs. 295 for 4.7gm. Buy here at discounted price. Ingredients No ingredients mentioned. Packaging The lipstick comes packaged in a silver colored metallic card box with Lakme Enrish Matte Lipstick printed on one side. On the other side, Lakme states what is so special about this lipstick. Ingredients list is not provided anywhere. The lipstick bullet too comes in a silver colored body with transparent cap on the bullet. At the bottom of the lipstick shade number is printed. The shade does not have any name which makes it difficult to remember a particular lipstick just by it’s shade no. One weird thing about the packaging is that, it takes a lot of effort to screw-in & screw-out the lipstick out of it’s shell. I mean it’s not that easy like other lipsticks. You really need to put in some effort. May be it’s just this lipstick. Taste, Texture & Smell The texture of this lipstick is creamy smooth. There is bit sheen to the texture. When I apply the lipstick to my lips, the sheen can be noticed on my lips too. Glides easily on lips due to creamy texture. The lipstick does not dry out my lips. The lipstick has the very peculiar old cosmetic smell which we used to have in cheap lipsticks many many years back. I did not like this utterly sweet smell. The lipstick also tastes soapy until, it is wiped off your lips entirely. Shade – RM 13 This is a shade from the Red Color Family. It is a nice bright red, which will suit all skin tones, be it light, medium or dusky. This year 2017, is particularly a year of bold shades as opposed to the previous year where the nude shades rocked the fashion world. This shade is very desirable. The lipstick looks more of maroon, but the shade goes quite red on lips. If I blot and re apply the shade, I can achieve a rust shade out of this lippie. Pigmentation The pigmentation of this lipstick is very good. One swipe gives beautiful intense color while another swipe just perfects the look. The pigmentation is intense because it is a bright shade. Such shades are relatively more pigmentation than the light shades. Finish It is a matte lipstick but do not expect an entirely matte finish out of it. It has bit sheen to it. The sheen is visible on lips too after application. It’s just the creamy texture that hinders the exact matte finish. What I do is, I bot away the sheen with a napkin. That’s how I get the desired matte lips out of this moisturizing lipstick. My Most Favorite Matte Lipstick? – SUGAR Cosmetics Matte AS Hell Longevity This lipstick stays on lips. The sheen is lost after an hour or so, if I do not blot it by myself. The color stays intact for more than 4 -5 hours surviving meals in between. The tint would not go away even after 4-5 hours, until I wipe it off. I wipe it off after 4-5 hours, since, it starts to get little patchy which is not that pleasant to look at. I really admire the staying power of this lipstick. Summary : 4/5 Except the taste & smell, I think the lipstick is quite a grab for the price you pay. It’s moisturizing, pigmented & stays for long on lips. The shades offered by Lakme are very good too. It’s among the best budget buy, if you ask me. I am looking forward to buy the newly launched Argan Oil lipsticks from Lakme, just not able to decide on the shades. Any help? Love.

Coming to today’s post, I am presenting 3 Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipsticks to you, Pink Kiss P21, Code Red R33, Grape Riot W13 . Elle 18 is very popluar among teens & budget queens. This is a matte range from Elle 18 with fabulous packaging. The range is dirt cheap. Let’s get into the details. Price Rs. 100 for 4.3gm. Dirt Cheap.. huh . Buy here. Packaging Comes in a round black tube with flat top. There is a cartoon of a chic printed on the cap of the lipstick with Elle 18 logo and range name on the lipstick. I like this new flat top packaging of these lipstick. This packaging make the lipsticks more classic in looks. One thing I would like to mention that I need to press the lipstick cover hard, over the bullet, to close it properly. Ingredients Not mentioned. Texture & Smell The texture of the lipstick is creamy matte. Since the texture is creamy hence you do not have to worry about drying out your lips due to matte lipsticks. The lipsticks have very faint chocolaty smell which is weird. But an added bonus. Shade – Pink Kiss P21 It is a nice warm toned pink which will flatter all skin tones. It can be worn to office as well as to casual outings. It is a daily wear color. Shade – Code Red R33 This is a very beautiful shade of red, a deep red. It looks burgundy if layered multiple times. This is a color that would suit evening outings very well. Shade – Grape Riot W13 This is a plum lipstick from the range a nice plum. When I see Maybelline Colorshow Violet Delight, & freak out, only a nice plum lipstick can calm me down. Grape Riot perfectly suits the picture. Pigmentation & Finish The pigmentation of Matte Lipsticks from this range is decent. 2 swipe gives enough colour to pigmented lips. The pigmentation is build able too. Even though the range is matte but when you swipe the lipstick across, there is sheen that you notice at first. The finish is nothing sort of matte. I really get confused if I am getting an original product or not. But this thing I have noticed with all the lipsticks from the matte range of Elle 18. They are not completely utterly matte, they have some sheen to them. They are moisturizing that way. Since I like to have matte finish more, I blot my Elle 18 lipsticks little. Longevity If I follow the proper steps of applying perfect lipstick, they last longer on my lips. Other wise the lipsticks stay only for maximum 2-3 hours. I think that is quite expected out of a under budget lipstick. The lipsticks bid goodbye leaving behind tinted lips. Likes Nice creamy texture. Does not dry out lips. The shades mentioned above will suit every skin tone. Very affordable. Vast range of shades. Liked the new packaging too. Quality product Dislikes Finish is not completely matte. Adds sheen to the finish. Staying power is average. Summary: 4/5 I feel the Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick range is worth the price. You can experiment with a lot of shades & fun colors. It can be worn as glossy or matte, as you may like. I just wish that Elle 18 also comes up with real matte lipsticks. It’s been a while since I did a pout post err.. I mean a lipstick post. So here I am back with a review of a lipstick from Maybelline ColorShow range, which is a great hit due to it’s formula & color range. I am going to talk about a shade Cream Caramel 306 which I thought would be a brownish but is rather a fellow from red family. Brands often come with such misleading name I tell you. Another red goes into my kitty. When I got this particular lipstick, I actually went to have a look at the newly launched nude shades from Maybelline. But somehow I ended up buying another ColorShow lipstick. About Maybelline ColorShow Intense Fashionable Lipcolor You will love this creamy formula with intense color that too in a wide range. The lipsticks contain ultra hydrating formula while giving a satin finish to your lips. The formula is so intense that the color does not fade away even in humid conditions. Maybelline promises that all the shades will suit Indian skin tones. Price Used to retail at Rs. 299, but now you can buy these bullets at highly discounted price. Buy here. Ingredients Ingredients list come on the outer transparent wrap of the lipstick but it is not really readable easily. Packaging It comes in black bullet with a color coded band at the mid to recognize the color family. The packaging is sturdy and classic. I quite like it. Texture & Smell The lipstick is very creamy. The formula is highly hydrating for sure. The lipsticks glide on lips very easily giving intense colour. The lipstick also contain some very fine shimmer which are not visible upon application. Maybe the glossiness of the lipstick can be attributed to the fine shimmer present in the lipstick. There is a very mild and chocolaty sweet smell present in the lipstick. The fragrance is very faint so you will notice the smell only you put efforts to. Shade – Cream Caramel 306 I associate Caramel to brown, so when I read the shade name, I thought it might be some nude shade which it is not. Caramel should lean more towards brown, while this shade leans more towards Red. Sometimes it looks subtle Coral while sometimes it looks Peachy. However, it suits my wheatish skin tone. The shade contains fine shimmers and hence sheen can be noticed on the lips after wearing it. The formula is intense in hydration as well as pigmentation. Pigmentation I have noticed the pigmentation of this range is impressive. I have used few lipsticks from this range all of the have fared well on the pigmentation front. Longevity This lipstick lasts for 3-4 hours only. I am left with a reddish tint afterwords. That is quite expected from a creamy lipstick. Finish The finish of the lipstick is little is satin smooth, which can be toned down by blotting. There are very fine shimmers in the formula which gives nice sheen to the lips. When the glossiness goes away, the shimmer particles are more visible on lips. Likes Creamy texture. Satin finish. Impressive pigmentation. Peachy-coral shade. The shade will suit all Indian skin tones. Affordable & easily available. Sturdy packaging. The range has a wide verity of shades. Dislikes Misleading name. Some might not like the ultra shiny formula. The shimmer particles become more obvious after a hour or so. Summary The creamy texture & satin finish is impressive while being at affordable price. Lasts for about 3-4 hours depending on your lips activity. I think one can go for many shades from this range. Recently HOG was getting a lot of search queries like new Elle 18 lipsticks. I wondered is there a new version of Elle 18 lipsticks that I am not aware of. I browsed through and realized you people are looking for Color Boost Range of Elle 18 Lipsticks. So here I am writing a review of this range and putting up few swatches of a beautiful colour Superlicious Red from the same range. Elle 18 is an affordable brand which is very popular among youngsters specially the college going girls. To be frank I never liked the initial versions of Elle 18 lipsticks since they lacked at the pigmentation front. But Elle 18 is improving its formula constantly and now the lipsticks perform really well at every front. About Elle 18 Color Boost Lipstick Elle 18 presents this much improved new formula of Color Boost lipsticks containing dual core for intense pigmentation and moisturisation. The lipsticks stay for long hours while keeping your lips moisturised with Cocoa Butter. A wide of shades available to choose from. Price Rs. 150. Buy here at discounted price. Ingredients Not mentioned. Packaging The lipstick comes in the signature packaging of Elle 18 lipisticks this time with a little variance in colour. The lipstick comes in a black a bullet with bright pink cap. The cap shows off Elle 18 logo with a Chic wearing a pink lip colour. The lipstick is dual core. At the core there is Cocoa Butter to give moisturisation as well as the sheen to lips. Shade name and no are printed at the bottom of the lipstick. Shade – Superlicious Red 10 The Color Boost range of Elle 18 lipsticks contain more than 15 beautiful colours. The shade Superlicious Red is a beautiful bright lip colour. Looks really beautiful on lips. Texture & Smell The texture of the lipstick is creamy and since it contains Cocoa butter it make the formula very easy to glide on lips and gives beautiful luscious lips. The lipstick does not smell a bit. Also does not taste weird. Pigmentation The pigmentation of Elle 18 lipsticks has improved a lot over the past few years. The pigmentation of this range is also decent. 1-2 swipes are enough to give that perfect colour to my lips. Finish The lipstick gives a satin finish. But a matte finish can be achieved by blotting your lips with a tissue. To achieve intense pigmentation, apply a layer of the colour to your lips and then blot with a tissue. Again swipe the lipstick bullet across your lips for final finish. Longevity Being a moisturizing lipstick the shade stays only for 2-3 hours and wears off leaving a beautiful reddish tint behind. Regular touch ups are required to keep the lips full of colour. Likes The formula is creamy & moisturising. Contains Cocoa Butter. Decent pigmentation. Attractive packaging. Affordable. Easily available. Does not dry out lips. Dislikes Does not stay for more than 2-3 hours. Summary This range of Elle 18 lip colour is very affordable and offers wide range of shades to choose from. The improved pigmentation of Elle 18 lipsticks is decent though the staying power of this range in not much impressive. In case you are low on budget or do not mind touching up, few gorgeous shades from this range won’t hurt. Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream – 02, 13, 28, 39, 41 : Swatches & Review

I thought it would be a good idea to do a detailed review on Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Creams, as I am giving them away to appreciate your readership. The lip creams as I have mentioned in my some previous post, are dupes of NYX lip creams which come by the same name. Can a brand totally mimic other brand so closely? I wonder. Even if it is allowed, we are in for a treat, ain’t we? We get almost same formula and pigmentation on a cheaper price. The shades, I tell you, I was so amused to see the shade ranges. There are like so many shades in a single colour. You know what I mean? You find lots of pinks, reds, coral, and what not. The shades vary slightly in color from each other. It gets really difficult to choose a single color. About Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream What Miss Claire, has to say about these lip creams? The brand states that the lip cream is not a lipstick nor it is a gloss. It is something in between. Though we have experienced the same formula before from NYX, still the brand claims that it’s new and we have not experienced it before. Whatsoever, I quite liked the formula. Price This totally depends upon the type of store you are purchasing these lip creams from. You can get them in between 200 to 350, As I have noticed. The price is not fixed and it varies, offline to online. Product weighs 6.5 grams, according to the brand while I doubt it. Packaging These lip creams come in almost same packaging as NYX Soft Matte lip creams, with Miss Claire printed in bold. The only difference in the packaging is the printing orientation. Miss Claire lip creams are contained in colour coded plastic tubes with black screw-in long applicator wand at the top. The applicator is soft and picks right amount of product. The applicator wand s pointy hence let me outline my lips. I find the packaging attractive, sleek and sturdy. Taste, Texture & Smell The lip cream definitely feels real smooth upon application. The texture is really fine. I actually feel like I am applying a high end product. If I press my lips together after application, I feel a buttery finish on my lips. I am not fond of the smell though. The smell is not that pungent, encounter it only once when I open the tube. There is no weird taste associated with these lip creams, which makes it quality product. I always wear lip balm if I am going to wear a matte lip product since most of the lip products are not that moisturising. It is true for the lip creams also. It does not dry out lips, on it’s own, but sometimes, when my lips are not hydrated enough, the feeling is not good. Pigmentation The pigmentation of the lip creams is commendable. One swipe gives desired colour even on pigmented lips. Since the lip cream are really pigmented and concentrated, you need to take out quite a lot of product to cover your lips. Longevity The lip creams stay for 3-4 hours surviving small meals/sips. It goes away in patches which is not desired. So either I reapply the lip cream or take it off completely after 3-4 hours. Finish When I apply it on my lips, it gives semi satin finish due to it’s very fine and smooth texture. But later on the product gives matte lips. My lips look fuller some how after wearing this formula. Shade Description I picked up 5 shades randomly – 02, 13, 28, 39 & 41. All of these are really gorgeous. Shade – 02 This is a perfect brown nude shade, to go with the Arabian night style smokey eyes. These type of shades does not complement my skin tone much, but I still love this shade. Shade – 13 It is another nude shade, which is peachy brown. I generally prefer these type of nudes to wear daily so that they do not look too bright for a day look but still completes my look. Shade – 28 This is a very beautiful pink. I loved it the moment I saw this at the store. It gives the exact colour as Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gradation Pink 2. Shade – 39 It is a coral shade. It brightens up my face. This shade can be worn during day or night. Shade – 41 This is another coral shade but more brighter than 39. It is brighter hence, I would not wear it during day, but would perfectly brighten up my night outs. But this shade gives little uneven coverage. You can see it by your self in the picture below. Likes Smooth and very fine texture. Matte finish. Pigmentation is intense. Decent staying power. Wide range of shades. Affordable. Quality product. Attractive and sturdy packaging. Dupe of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. Miss Claire is a cruelty free brand. Dislikes Product quantity is very less in each tube that I have ever used. I don’t think the tube actually contains even 4 g of the product which is a standard weight. It takes little time to set and to give matte finish. Comes off in patches which make the lips looking weird. I had a hard time locating a physical store of this brand. Summary : 4/5 I totally love these lip creams. I have had used few already and will definitely get more shades from this range. I like the buttery soft texture and the pigmentation of these lip creams. Plus they are so affordable.
