Lakme has already done so in the past too, like Lakme 9 To 5 Quartet. That’s why you will notice the shade names are similar to the old range. So you can buy your favorite shade from the range but with a better formula, a formula that lasts upto 12 hours. Lakme 9 To 5 Primer + Matte Lipstick Lakme re-invents it’s 9 To 5 Lip Color giving it a long lasting formula infused with primer which preps lips for a smooth application and long lasting color. The Primer + Matte formula ensures flawless finish, intense color pay off, matte finish & 12 hour long stay. Price Rs. 480 for 3.6gm. Buy here. Packaging Lakme has not changed the packaging of Lakme 9 To 5 Lip Color range. The new range too comes in the same rose-gold packaging. The packaging is quite shiny & classy. The shade name is provided at the bottom of every lip color. The lipstick bullet has Lakme 9 to 5 logo printed over it. Some of the bullets are easy to twist up while some takes bit of pressure to pop out of the shell. Shade – Red Letter MR9 A warm toned beautiful & bright red shade from the range. It won’t disappoint any skin tone. Any skin complexion can carry it well, because of it’s warm undertones. Shade – Blush Book MR 19 It is baby pink shade. It is an everyday shade for college/office/casual outings. It has bot of cool undertones, hence one should apply it in moderation. Also it kind of accentuates dry lines if you have them on your lips. It might look patchy if not applied with care. Shade – Ruby Rush MR 20 I take Ruby shades are generally a mix of red & pink. This shade too is a nice mix of pinkish red. If I wipe of the color off my lips, I will see a pinkish tint behind. Very wearable when you want to flaunt your luscious put on that eventful night. Shade – Fuchsia File MR 21 A true Fuchsia shade in the range. A bright, bold & loud shade. It can brighten up a dull day in no time. It is a cool toned pink, hence make sure your skin tone agrees with the shade. Shade – Scarlet Surge MR 22 I have worn many scarlets on my lips. It is also going to be a memorable one. It is another nice red shade just bit deep. Scarlet Surge is just a bit darker than Red Letter giving a mysterious look to my face. It is another versatile shade in the range. I wish I could grab all of the 30 shades in the range, but then most of them are repetitive. It was really hard to point out a different between Scarlet Surge & red Letter, unless I really took a close look. I opted only for the bold shades and left out nudes or brown shades, since this year is a celebration of bold shades. Fragrance & Texture The lip colors in this range do not contain fragrance neither do they taste weird. This is always a plus point when it comes to lip products, at least for me. Texture of the old Lakme 9 To 5 Lip Color range was wonderful and so is of this re-invented range. It is creamy & moisturizing, giving a smooth finish & intense color. Pigmentation The range presents highly pigmented lip colors. One swipe gives nice color pay off, while another swipe will seal the intensity in the shade. You can still go on for more swipes but the formula won’t feel weird. The intensity is buildable. Longevity Lakme claims to give 12 hours color to the lips with this re-invented 9 To 5 range. I have worn the bold shades for entire days, but at least 2 touch ups are required in the span of 12 hours. Because I can not stay without meals or caffeine which means, object touching my lips & stealing the moisture along with bit of the color every single time. The color did not wipe off entirely or went patchy, but yes, after 4-5 hours, one touch up is necessary. Finish It is matte. It is moisturizing but matte. Some of the colors might accentuate bit of fine lines, so make sure to prepare your lips before hand to wear the matte lipsticks. Summarizing, Lakme 9 To 5 Primer + Matte Lip Color range is a fabulous range from the brand. It is intense in color, offers 30 shades & classy packaging, under 500 bucks & gives very long stay on lips. Worth every penny. ❤❤❤❤❤ Are you too eyeing upon this range? I love SUGAR Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick Scarlett O’Hara to the core, I was so wanting to own Holly Golightly from the same range. SUGAR crayon lipsticks are among the best lipsticks for Indian skin tone. The lipsticks are parabene free & do not contain harmful chemicals. SUGAR does not test on animals. Ain’t these really great reasons to buy another piece form the brand. I bought the lipstick along with SUGAR Tic Tac Toe Nail Liquor in the same shade- Holy Golightly. I will talk about the nail paint in some other post, but today I am going to review SUGAR Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick 04 Holly Golightly today for you. I was very impressed by the texture & staying power of Scarlett O’Hara & I was lately feeling to have a n*de lip color, so I thought, why not Holly Golightly. This lip crayon is very popular among makeup lovers. I really resisted myself from getting this until now. Because I didn’t only want this but I really needed this. SUGAR says go lightly nude with this lip color which is highly pigmented, super coverage & excellent staying power. The texture is creamy yet gives matte finish which does not require reapplication again and again. The lipstick is safe for skin. Price Rs. 799 for 5gms. Buy here. Packaging The crayon lipstick comes packed inside a cardboard with abstract print. The cardboard contains graphics of a red pout, while the brand name, logo and product name are also printed on it. The ingredients list is not mentioned anywhere. The lipstick bullet is packed inside a black matte chubby pencil with light plumish-pink matte band at the bottom and a black matte cover at the mouth of the crayon. Since this is a crayon lipstick, it is shipped with a black sturdy sharpner. The crayon & the sharpner are made in Germany (imported you see :)). Variants I am a fan of these crayon lipsticks. You can also call them chubby sticks as some other brands has come up with. There are only five shades in the range: 01 Scarlett O’Hara – My favorite of them all- a beautiful red shade 02 Mary Poppins – Bright Fuschia 03 Poison Ivy – Wine 04 Holy Golightly – Nude 05 Rose Dawson – Pretty Pink Shade Description – Holy Golightly This is a pretty nude shade with peach undertones. I love peach lipsticks but they hate my skin tone. But a nude lipstick with peach undertones will suit every Indian skin tone, like this one does. This shade flatters my wheatish skin tone beautifully. The shade may look little pinkish in natural day light but looks pinkish brown indoors. Works for me. Taste, Texture & Smell This is a powdery matte lipstick. It also tastes powdery in the initial hour of application. The texture is creamy and glides on lips very smoothly without any hassle. There is practically no smell out of the crayon. Pigmentation I have never had any issues at the pigmentation front of any product from the brand, SUGAR. This lipstick is also good in pigmentation. One swipe gives nice color pay off. 2 swipes seals the color for a perfect nude pout. Staying Power SUGAR Smudge Me Not lipsticks give the longest staying power. Next I love Scarlett O’Hara for it’s performance. But the staying power of Holly Golightly is average. It stays for 2-3 hours on my lips. After meals it’s gone. But I understand, it’s a light shade, and it can not deliver as much as a bright color would. Finish The finish of this lipstick is powder-y matte. No sheen is visible on the lips even though the lipstick has creamy texture. How To Use Holly Golightly? You can wear it everyday. It would go with everything & on everyone. With bold eyes, it’s a must to go with nude lips. That’s when you can use this lipstick. While going for a no makeup look, I would love to wear this shade on my lips. Likes Pretty Nude Shade. Creamy Texture. Nice color pay off. Everyday shade. Suitable for Indian skin tones. Free of parabenes & other harmful chemicals. Dislikes Pricey. Needs to be sharpened. Summary : 4/5 Overall, this is a nice nude lip shade which gives nice color pay off and stays for decent time on my lips. I am actually wearing it every day, (I just get obsessed with every new lip shade). I do not like the fact that I have to sharpen it every now and then. I wish it was a retractable one. Hello Dolls, It’s been a while that I reviewed a makeup product and for that matter, a lipstick specifically. I chose Ruby’s Organics Lipstick – Burgundy 016 for today’s review. I received this lipstick in my previous #MyEnvyBox, I almost forgot about it & other products from the box. Delaying no more, let’s hop onto the review wagon. About Ruby’s Organics Lipstick Burgundy Ruby’s Organics is a new brand, suggests to use the lipstick once for subtle & twice for a bolder look. The lipstick carries the benefits of a lip balm while looks like an intense lip color. The lipstick contains Mango & Shea Butter, Almond & Castor Oil. The lipstick is 100% vegetarian, contains no parabenes, artificial colors, alcohols & chemical preservatives. The brand does not believe in testing on animals. Price Rs. 990 for 3.7g. Ingredients Packaging The lipstick comes packed inside a black matte long & chubby cardbox with graphics of multi colored flowers printed over it. Ingredients list is also printed on the pack. Inside you find a chubby retractable black shiny pencil with a transparent cover at the top. Ruby’s Organics is printed on the pencil in fancy font while “Lipstick Burgandy” is printed at the bottom of the chubby pencil. Shades Available Ruby’s Organics has come up only with 5 shades in the range – Apricot, Raisin, Roseate, Brick & Burgundy. Shade – Burgundy 016 This is a very deep burgundy shade. A fabulous one. All the burgundy lovers are in for a treat with this shade. Though with flash on, the shade looks more of deep pink. Texture & Smell It is a moisturizing lipstick. It really hydrates lips. I find the texture comparable to that of the SUGAR Crayon lipsticks. It looks matte on lips. If you watch closely, you might find some sheen to the lips due to the presence of moisturizing agents in the lipstick. I do not need to wear a lipstick underneath. It has mild and pleasant smell. Pigmentation The pigmentation of the lipstick is intense, so intense that it feels like it might stain my lips forever. One swipe gives very nice color pay off. But the texture of the lipstick is buttery smooth and I feel like gliding on my lips over and over… and over. Have you ever experienced this pleasure? I do this with my favorite lipsticks very often. Longevity Ruby’s Organics gives me no reason to complain except the price. The longevity of the lipsticks is very awesome like it’s pigmentation. It transfers to the objects that touch my lips but the color stays put. The foremost layer goes away within first 2 hours, but lips stays colored for more 5-6 hours. The lipstick wears off leaving a deep red stain on my lips. Summary : 4/5 Except the price factor, I just love this range from Ruby’ Organics. The pigmentation & longevity leaves me in awe. I recently received SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick Tan Fan 03 . I won an Instagram contest held by SUGAR. The contest was about their Liquid Lipstick longevity. You must be knowing about it, if you are following me on Instagram. SUGAR gave away Liquid Lipsticks as the prize. SUGAR asked me to choose my shade from Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick. It was really hard to choose one shade since all the shades are so desirable. I already have Rethink Pink which is very adorable. At last, I zeroed on Sauve Mauve & Tan Fan. You won’t believe, I actually tossed a coin to choose one shade among the two. Before getting my hands on this lipstick, I was thinking to put it in the giveaway I am going to host soon on HOG. I also thought this is going to be a nude shade. But to my surprise, it was a fabulous plum shade. Boy, I am so smitten. I already have a plum palette from NYX.It covers all my plum needs. I thought I am never going to need another plum shade any time soon, since it has all the plums including maroons. But what I knew. The NYX palette has satin finish, while the Smudge Me Not range presents Liquid Lipsticks which give matte finish. I would prefer a matte lipstick over a satin one, any given day. When I first applied this on my lips I was so lost in determining the actual color of this liquid lipstick. I was like, Oh My God, I have never worn such a beautiful lipstick ever. Trust me, this is one of the beautiful plum shade lipstick ever. Price Rs. 499. SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick Tan Fan 03 The shade is brownish plum, my kind of plum. It is less of mauve and more of browns. Just the perfect blend. This shade will suit every skin tone, be it fair or dusky. The shade would never fail to impress. This shade can be worn at any time & at any occasion. It can be worn daily in office too because it gives matte finish. You won’t look like you are wearing tons of color. It gives a clean look to face. To bring out your party face while wearing this shade on your lips, I would suggest to throw on some subtle plum eye shadow on your eyes. Pigmentation SUGAR, has some magical wand for sure as this brand always comes out with highly pigmented & quality products. I am so impressed with every product I have ever used from SUGAR. As always, SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick Tan Fan 03 is highly concentrated & pigmented. I take small amount on the tip of the applicator that comes with this liquid lipstick, and dab it at the middle of my lips, later swiping it all over my lips. This achieves the full fledged colored lips for me. Formula The formula is creamy, smooth & fast drying. So I make sure to be quick with the application, otherwise, I would get some uneven application. Once the liquid is set, I am free to eat, talk or take pout selfies 🙂 I am right now wearing Tan Fan on my lips while sipping on to my tea and there are no lip stains on my white tea cup. How cool is that. Trust me I feel really embarrassed whenever I am out dining and leave lip stains behind. This lipstick does not embarrass me . Longevity SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick Tan Fan 03 is no less in performance also when I compare it too Rethink Pink which lasts so well that I won that Instagram contest. It does not go anywhere until next 6-7 hours. Touch ups are required only when you have to have your main meals. It can survive mini meals or sips very well. Finish The lipstick gives matte finish. The formula is quick drying hence you need to work fast with the application. Once set, it does not bleed or smudge, even when tried to. If you are not accustomed to wearing liquid lipsticks, this lipstick might feel little uneasy due to it’s dry finish. You should wear a clear lip balm before you go ahead with matte lipstick be it from any brand. Wearing a lip balm underneath a lipstick is the basic lip care & most of the time does not interfere with the finish of the lipstick. That was all about SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick Tan Fan. Hello, Gorgeous Girls. I am back with another lipstick review. I got this lipstick in my recent Fab Bag. This is a new brand to me. I never heard about the brand- Seduction Las Vegas (SLV), before Fab Bag introduced it to me. I was not impressed with the packaging though. But seeing a brand new lipstick, I could not hold back for long. I opened the packaging & applied it on my lips. Let me tell you how was my experience with this lipstick. About Seduction Las Vegas Lipstick Seduction Las Vegas is famous for it’s nail colors. Now it’s bringing it’s lipstick range too. Seduction Las Vegas Lipsticks are highly pigmented & creamy textured, while giving moisture to your lips for smooth & semi matte finish. The lipsticks are Vitamin E enriched. Price The lipsticks are very easy on pocket. Priced at Rs. 180. Ingredients Pearls & Pigments, Castor Oil, Ozokerite,White Bees Wax, Petroleum Jelly, Lanolin (Anhydrous), Candelilla wax, Carnauba Wax, Paraffin Wax, Light Liquid Paraffin, Octyl Palmitate, Performa- V825, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride, Silicone Oil, Butylated Hydroxy Toluene, Tocopherol Acetate, Isopropyl Myristate, Tri-isostearoyl Polygycerol-3DimerDilinoleate, Perfume, Propyl Paraben Pearls & Pigments, Castor Oil, Ozokerite,White Bees Wax, Petroleum Jelly, Lanolin (Anhydrous), Candelilla wax, Carnauba Wax, Paraffin Wax, Light Liquid Paraffin, Octyl Palmitate, Performa- V825, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride, Silicone Oil, Butylated Hydroxy Toluene, Tocopherol Acetate, Isopropyl Myristate, Tri-isostearoyl Polygycerol-3DimerDilinoleate, Perfume, Propyl Paraben Packaging The lipstick comes in a black case with Seduction printed on the case in bold letters. The packaging is very matte. The packaging looks little flimsy. Shade – Nude Love 06 I have been hoarding a lot of bold colors. Fab Bag asked me to choose my shade for this lipstick range, I went for Nude Love. I have a secret crush for nude lippies. I am glad, I chose this shade. It is peachy brown shade, my type of nude. Even though the finish is semi matte, I can make it look totally matte by blotting it with a tissue if I want. But I do not blot it right away since it loses it’s glossiness after a hour or so. And after that my lips look more beautiful with peachy brown tint on my lips. Texture The texture of this lipstick is very creamy & smooth. I like how it feels on my lips. It does not feel waxy. The quality is good. The brand claims that it is enriched with Vitamin E, which I think is a plus point. This surely moisturizes my lips instead of drying them. Pigmentation The pigmentation of this lipstick is decent. It gives nice color pay off. The color shows well even on pigmented lips. The color can be built further on without making lips looking patchy. I apply at max 2 coats for perfect color on my lips. Finish The finish of this lipstick is semi matte. There is no utterly glossiness, but a bit of sheen is present. I generally prefer matte lipsticks. I blot my glossy lipsticks. I mostly wear it as it is since it loses its glossiness within an hour. Longevity Even though it loses it’s glossiness within an hour but it never loses it’s color. It provides nice tint to lips which stays for 3-4 hours on my lips. This totally works for me. I can have in between meals and still flaunt tinted lips. How cool is that? Likes Moisturizing on lips. Beautiful shade- Nude Love. Very very affordable. Lasts for 3-4 hours. Dislikes Flimsy packaging. Loses sheen after an hour. (not a con for me) Summary : ❤❤❤❤ This is a new range of lipsticks which are highly affordable but with quality product. The shade Nude Love, from SLV, is very nice peachy brown shade, makes a perfect nude color. The lipstick is moisturizing and enriched with Vitamin E. Would like to try more shades from this range. I just could not stop my self from smearing my lips in Rethink Pink as soon as I opened my February fab bag and saw SUGAR Smudge Me Not Lipstick in it. I already knew I will be getting the recently launched Smudge Me Not lipstick in my fab bag since Fab Bag asked me to pick my shade few days back. I was just waiting for my fab bag to arrive so that I could see my self what is so good about this new girl in town. As I was telling you that I wore it in the morning and did not care to retouch until later in the evening. Yes it is that intense. So I decided I must show this bubbly girl to you as this range really needs review since it’s new. Also Read Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick Tan Fan About SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick SUGAR recently launched this and has been constantly emailing the lipstick lovers about this new launch. No doubt we are all curious since the name itself says Smudge Me Not. SUGAR claims that this is one coat wonder and so intense that your lipstick will stay longer than your longest day. Now that’s huge claim. The lipstick is liquid that sets off in matte finish. SUGAR shouts for all the matte lipstick lovers to try stunning 10 beautiful shades. Price Rs. 499 for 4.5ml. Ingredients Packaging The packaging of this liquid lipstick does not look fancy at first sight, but when I really looked at it closely, it looked like I am actually seeing a lipstick enclosed in a transparent cover. But it is not a lipstick in bullet, since it is liquid, it is packed in the form of a lip gloss. The liquid lipstick comes in a transparent tube of pigment with applicator wand at the top. Smudge Me Not is printed horizontally on the transparent tube. The shade no and name are also printed at the bottom of the tube. Since the colour tube is transparent I can see the quantity and colour of the lipstick. The applicator wand is angled to line the lips while giving them intense colour. The applicator is smooth and gives perfect application. The tube has a rounded small opening for the wand to go inside the tube. The lipstick is very tiny. It will fit in the palm of my hand. Taste, Texture & Smell Initially there is no taste as such, but after the lipstick has set in matte finish there is little powdery feeling on my lips. It feels like I have literally painted my lips. Texture of the lipstick is really smooth but little thick so I have to immediately apply the lipstick before it’s dry. It dries up really quickly so messy application would ruin the look. I line up my lips with the wand provided with the lipstick and then quickly fill in between. There is a sweet yet chemically smell in the tube but it’s really mild and does not bother me until I sniff into the tube. It is not horrible as Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream. Pigmentation This lipstick reminded me of Maybelline Super Stay Range. This liquid lipstick is insanely pigmented. I have to be really careful while applying it so that I do not stain my skin in an unwanted manner. SUGAR already points out that it’s very pigmented so you need to apply this on your lower lip first and then press your lips together. But I am not sure if that would give an even application. So I just go the old way. I apply it as I apply a lip gloss. Pick as little as you can and start applying from the middle of you upper/lower lid and all the way around. Go for another swipe if required. That gives me perfect application. Shades SUGAR launched 10 beautiful shades in this particular range. Even though the shade range is limited, SUGAR has tried to touch every colour family. Following are the shades of this range: 01 Brazen Raisin , 02 Brink Of Pink, 03 Tan Fan, 04 Plum Yum, 05 Rust Lust , 06 Tangerine Queen , 07 Rethink Pink, 08 Wine & Shine, 09 Sauve Mauve, 10 Drop Dead Red. Shade – Rethink Pink 07 It is a beautiful pink shade which is going to suit every skin tone and will be loved by every one. My Camera did not do justice to the colour as it mostly looked more of Mauve, but it is really deep pink which can be toned down to subtle pink. If I use the colour in full throttle I get very deep colour, but I can use just a hint of the colour to get a perfect hint of pink which I prefer for every day look. Finish This is a liquid lipstick setting off in a completely matte finish. The formula is quick dry hence I need to be really quick and precise with the application. Longevity This range is here to stay. The performance is comparable to that of the Maybelline Super Stay Range. You can just apply it in the morning and forget for good 5-6 hours. Even after 5-6 hours you will need to retouch the formula and will be set for another 5-6 hours, while surviving full meals and sips in between. Likes Intense pigmentation. Smooth & quick dry formula. Matte finish. Compact packaging. Long lasting colour. Fabulous shades. Does not dry out lips on its own. Dislikes Limited range of shades. Little powdery finish when it sets off. Summary I think all matte lovers will the formula and the staying power. Some might feel the price is bit high but I feel the performance justifies the price and the compact design. I wish SUGAR comes up with more shades in this range.
