Hey Girls, NELF Cosmetics just introduced 2 Valentine Special Gift Sets of Lipsticks and Lip Gloss. One set contains 4 matte lipsticks with a nail lacquer and another set contains of 5 lip glosses. I will be reviewing these lipsticks and lip glosses for you so that you can get to know if these sets are worth buying. The lipsticks are matte while the nail paint is glossy. The lip glosses are known as NELF Velvet Sheen Lip gloss. NELF Valentine’s Day Special Gift I like NELF lipsticks because they are lead free. While even the big brands do not refrain from putting lead in their lipsticks. I have used NELF 9 to 6 All Day Long Lipsticks, NELF The Miami Stick Lipsticks and NELF Powder Matte Lipsticks. Had quite a wonderful experience too. NELF Valentine’s Day Special Gift Sets are improved version of lipsticks and lip glosses in terms of quality and packaging. Set 1 – NELF VT Lipsticks I got 4 shades from this newly launched range. The shades are very apt for the Valentine’s Day. Not just for the Valentine’s Day but actually will suit every special day. The lipsticks being matte are long lasting. I have been wearing a coral shade since the morning and I could still see a tint on my lips while I am writing this piece. Price: – The lipsticks are priced at only Rs. 199. Texture & Formula The lipsticks are matte but has very creamy formula. The formula really hydrates lips. You can notice bit of sheen when you apply these shades. It does not settle into fine lines neither it accentuates fine lines on my lips. The final finish is semi matte to matte. Packaging NELF has improved packaging of it’s lipsticks. The packaging of these lipstick is really of high quality. The shades come in an all black matte case. The lipsticks close with a sound of click which makes them travel friendly. NELF VT 18 Incense Pink This is a beautiful pink peachy shade. It has more of pinks and less of peach which makes it suitable wear for all skin types. NELF VT 19 Sizzle Red It’s an absolute gorgeous deep red. It’s a shade that will suit all the Indian skin tones as it has warm undertones. NELF VT 20 Delicacy It’s an earthy shade with bit of pinks. The shade will go well with smokey eyes, which might be your go to look for your special night. NELF VT 23 Fuchsia Obsession And lastly we have a mauve shade. Mauve is very wearable shade and really preferable for date nights. NELF Nail Laquer NSE03 Obsession I got a very beautiful bright red shade nail lacquer in my first gift set. The shade is very beautiful. I like the pigmentation as well as the glossy finish that it gives to my nails. Price: Rs. 99/- Set 2 – NELF Valvet Sheen Lip Gloss This is the first time that I have been using lip gloss from NELF. Actually I generally don’t use lip glosses. My first choice is always matte lipsticks. I received 5 lip glosses from NELF. They are all chosen to be as a Valentine’s Day set. The shades include coral, red, mauve and pinks. Price: Rs. 150 -/ Packaging The packaging of the lip glosses is again very sturdy. The shades come in a transparent tube with a black applicator fitted at the top. The applicator is bit tiny and hence gives clean application. The shade numbers are mentioned at the bottom of the tubes. Formula & Texture The lip glosses nice pigmentation, but to give an even finish, multiple swipes are required. Few shades are more pigmented than the others as you can see in the picture. The finish is absolutely gorgeous. It’s not ultra glossy but has a sheen, which make them wearable for day time too. NELF Velvet Sheen VSL01 Tangerine Flame It’s a subtle orange shade. The shade is very lively and gives a fresh look to the face. NELF Velvet Sheen VSL04 Berry Red This is a red shade in the set. The shade gives that glamorous look that you want on your special night. NELF Velvet Sheen VSL05 Winter Romance If you shy away from reds, this coral shade is a perfect fit for you. NELF Velvet Sheen VSL08 Passion Fruit This is a dark shade. It’s a deep wine shade which is very wearable for all skin tones. NELF Velvet Sheen VSL12 Mandarin Crush This is an earthy shade which you might want to go with a smokey eye. The lipstick is packed inside a black round bullet which is enclosed in a transparent tube with a transparent long cap fitted at the mouth of the bullet. You can easily spot the shade. The shade no is also printed tat he bottom of the bullet. The packaging is sturdy and looks classy too. NELF Powder Matte Lipstick Shades Vita Pink, Sweet Pink, Wine Wellness, Bloody Marry, Merlot, Eurydice, Shocking Pink, Pure Red, Indie Flick, Summer Breeze, Tea Rose, Butter. Fragrance & Texture There is almost no fragrance to the lipsticks. I could hardly smell a thing. Also there is no weird taste to be noticed after application. Coming to the texture of the lipsticks, they looks very powder-y and dry but surprisingly runs like butter on lips. The moisture content inside the lipsticks is good enough to provide comfort. Pigmentation This range, Powder Matte, is definitely more at pigmentation and buttery texture as compared to NELF The Miami Stick Matte Lipsticks. The stick runs very smoothly on lips but there is no patchiness to be seen in the texture. The lipsticks give quite an even application and opaque finish. Finish NELF Powder Matte Lipsticks, definitely wins heart when it comes to the finish. Matte look is very tricky. Matte lips could look dry, drenched and dehydrated. The finish of Nelf Powder Matte lipsticks is purely matte. But the finish does not dry out her lips or looks patchy after some time. Unlike liquid lipsticks, bullet matte lipsticks are more comfortable on lips, as this girl feels. The matte finish on lips look very rich and bold at the same time. It’s all because the lipsticks have nice color pigments. The lipsticks do transfer bit but stays for 3-4 hours in one go surviving mini meals/ few sips. For casual day outs, this shade rocks. NELF Powder Matte PM04 Bloody Mary It is another warm shade from the range. This shade is Burgundy but not vampy Burgundy, but a wearable Burgundy. The shade has less of brown and more of red. NELF Powder Matte PM05 Merlot Merlot is a cool toned shade. A mix of red & pink, this shade is quite suitable to give a bold and rich look. This girl is not much fan of cool toned shades, but this won’t wash out her wheatish skin tone since it’s high on color and drama. NELF Powder Matte PM09 Indie Flick She loves playful colors. Indie Flick is such shade. An orange but that would break her heart. An orange that has warmth, that has hope & that has ambition. It’s her kind of orange. Her most favorite from the range. NELF Powder Matte PM11 Tea Rose She loved NYX Tea Rose. But NELF Powder Matte Tea Rose is not NYX Tea Rose. NELF Powder Matte Tea Rose is a cool toned mauve shade. She never likes to wear mauve. It just does not agree with her skin tone. Period. NELF 9 to 6 range was quite impressive but NELF Powder Matte is definitely an awesome find too. She just wishes NELF brings parabene free lipsticks as just going lead free is not enough.
