Nykaa is selling the Lakme #KareenaKapoor Absolute range like hot cakes. It is also giving a free gift with every purchase from the same range, a beautiful box clutch in black color with some shimmer. The box clutch is no doubt a great accessory. But what can you say the same about the actual products that are released in this range? Lakme Absolute is a beautiful range and is decently priced. Kareena Kapoor Khan when collaborated with Lakme, produced her own line, as Lakme Kareena Kappor Khan Absolute Range. The range is supposed to be glamorous while possessing some high voltage drama. I just bought one product from this range, appearantly a mascara which has been named as lash definer (very fancy), but does it deliver the celebrity status? Well the range contains quite 6-7 products, including a foundation stick, blush, kohl, brow pencil, mascara etc. My first preference was of course to pick some lipsticks. But they were already out of stock along with the blush stick. I don’t have any mascara which is worth more than thousand rupees except Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara which was a free gift with Estee Double Wear Foundation. I feel within thousand bucks you can get wonderful mascaras. actually I use a lot of under 1000 bucks mascaras. They never disappoint me. Coming back to my shopping story, Lakme Kareena Kapoor Khan Absolute Lash Definer was the only choice for me at that time. Why I bought the mascara If I didn’t want to? Remember the box clutch I talked about in the beginning. It’s the culprit. It’s something I really wanted to have. It was too classy and beautiful to let go. I made my mind to buy one product and just get over with it. I don’t regret my decision regarding the clutch at least. My Experience With Lakme Kareena Kapoor Khan Absolute Lash Definer She is a glamour queen. Her fame proceeds her wherever she goes. It is not the first time that an actress has partnered with a cosmetic brand. Has happened in Hollywood and Bollywood before. And we always welcome it. This lash definer comes in a fat solid black bottle with a golden cap. The cap has an applicator attached to it. The applicator is something that I want to talk about in detail. The fiber applicator is beautifully designed to get your lashes separated easily. The amplification goes very well after they are operated. The tip of the applicator is beautifully curved so that it can be swiped across the lashes easily. The formula is clump free and very lightweight. I don’t feel any heaviness after wearing the mascara. Since it’s lightweight, I definitely need more of it as I am addicted to heavy lashes. The formula is quick dry. It’s so fuss free. The shade is a true black. I don’t think you can ask for more black. Coming to the after effects, Yes you can see some nice work on your lashes. They are separated from each other, they are curved (I have naturally curved eye lashes, mind you), and coated. There is no flakiness even after wearing it for hours. The lashes do not look fake. Lastly, the price feels like a pinch while you are floating in a sweet dream. You know, the worse, even at this price, Kareena Kapoor decided to forget adding a water resistant feature to the mascara. Ahhhh…hhh. The Good About Lakme Kareena Kapoor Khan Absolute Lash Definer Creamy, quick-dry & lightweight formula No clumps or flakiness Separates the lashes and amplifies the beautifully Gives awake look to the face Nice applicator Beautiful packaging The Bad Price is high The Ugly The mascara is not water proof. The brides will be highly disappointed by this fact. Lakme Kareena Kapoor Khan Absolute Lash Definer, is a wonderful mascara if you talk about the formula or the natural finish that it gives to the lashes. The applicator wand is also very workable. The piece looks luxurious. The price is on higher side, which we can understand since a celebrity is associated with it. But not being water resistant can be really disappointing for some. I am not disappointed by the purchase as I don’t really use water resistant mascaras anyway since they take efforts to come off. Also the clutch actually compensated for the price that I paid for the mascara. All is good. I feel this range is over hyped as a whole just because it is associated with Kareena Kapoor and is being sold by Nykaa. Kajal lovers, here is another beautiful piece coming right your way. I got Lakme Absolute Precision Eye Artist Kajal as a free gift with Lakme Primer +Matte Lipsticks. I have been using it on and off since I am still hooked on Plum Angel Eyes Kajal. But I like it for the performance & the texture it offers. It’s black technically, but I feel it’s not pure black or jet black that you really want your kajal to be. At least on my waterline, it goes bit of grey, & let me tell you, I love it. I have loads of kajals/kohls that are jet black, so having a grey colored kajal is total fun. Actually jet black kajals can be too harsh for my skin tone sometimes, hence, going for a brown (I lost Rimmel Scandalous Eyes in Brown 🙁 )or grey is very nice option for every day look. Lakme Absolute Precision Eye Artist Kajal Lakme presents the blackest of black kajal Ebony Black in twist up retractable form which gives intense color pay off. The sharp design gives a nice hold of the pencil for precise application. The kajal goes smudge proof for long hours on your eyes. Price Rs. 750 0.35g. Buy here. Packaging It comes in an all black retractable stick form. This kind of packaging is very handy since I do not require to sharp the product every now or then which mostly results in wasting the product. There is a matte black band from where you can hold the pencil and apply it to give without any slip. The tip of the pencil does not stay in shape, but I can still manage it, since I do not wear a winged eyeliner with it. Shade – Ebony Black This is supposed to be the blackest back shade. On my hand it is the blackest black, with perfect color pay off, but somehow, my water line is not able to receive that much intensity. Good for me. It mostly looks matte grey, a dark matte grey. Nice color I tell you. Fragrance & Texture It is creamy in texture but not ultra creamy that it would break off, plus point for that. So no pressure is required to apply the kajal on my water line, or on my lash line. I hardly wear liner on my lash line since I have small deep set eyes, hence I just line my eyes with this kajal. It goes perfectly smooth every where. No irritation ever noticed. It won’t smudge on it’s own until you want it too using a smudger or something. It has quick dry formula, hence you need to be quick to smudge it intentionally. It does not have any kind of fragrance. Pigmentation It is intense in pigmentation no doubt. As you can see on my hand, it gives a nice black shade. On my water line, single swipe gives nice dark & matte grey color. 2-3 swipe intensify the color, but never wash out my wheatish complexion. Finish It sets into matte finish. This beauty can not give you shiny eyes & it’s not sorry for that. The formula is quick dry hence, sets very soon. Longevity It stays put for nice 6-7 hours, the maximum I have worn it till the day. It does not smudge as such but if rubbed with water it can come off in layers, weird huh? Likes Nice creamy texture. glides on eyes very smoothly. Nice color payoff. Does not smudge, Stays put for 6-7 hours. Does not irritate eyes. Convenient packaging. Quick dry formula gives matte finish. Dislikes Bit pricey for a kajal. Not entirely water proof. Black Ebony surprisingly does not go jet black on my water line. It rather stays dark grey, not a con for me. Summary : 4.5/5 Lakme Absolute Precision Eye Artist Kajal, offers smooth texture, quick dry formula, intense color & smudge proof long stay. It is bit pricey but worth every penny. Hope you liked the review.
