As I got the straightener + dryer combo pack, both the products were packed in the same box but in individual packs the straightener comes alone with user guide. The user guide is very easy to cope with and contains thorough information about the product. The packaging felt quite sturdy and damage-proof; perfect fit with the price I have paid. Appearance/Outlook Philips HP8302/46 Hair Straightener has a very colourful outlook; the body of the straightener is black while the heating plates are fuchsia. Attractive label graphics and designs in pink take the attractiveness to the next level. The straightening iron has only one standard heat setting at 210°C that needs to be activated through a switch given in the straightener. The pink stains in heating plates are actually some protective materials ensuring less damage to the hair. The company promises that, with repeated use of the straightener this coating will go away eventually but the results with the tool will be the same. My Experience This hair straightener is a variant of Philips’ new Selfie Straightener range. This range offers an array of affordable and compact hair straighteners for personal use. I am a bit sceptical when it comes to straightening irons because they come in direct contact with the hair so, they hold the maximum power to damage hair strands. I straighten my hair very occasionally and that too with precautions. I straighten my hair part by part taking small divisions so that I do not have to keep the iron in one place for more than 3 seconds. For the dry ends of the hair I reduce this time to maximum 2 seconds. After each pass I never skip combing as it helps to straighten hair faster and distributes the heat. I never try to curl my hair with straightener because that involves excess contact between heated tongs with the hair. I have curly-wavy hair texture. Making my hair perfectly straight is not an easy task at all. I think if any hair straightening tool works for me, it will work for everybody. Like my hair drying routine, my hair straightening also involves going down to up with the hair; starting from nape of the neck to the front part and lastly the bangs. This straightener curls my hair to perfectly straightened strands within 2-3 passes. The strands which have tighter curls of course take 3 passes but the rest is done in two passes. It does not take off the volume from the hair completely which is really nice because I have fine hair. To tell you the truth, it does damage the hair to some extent which needs 3-4 deep conditioning treatment to revert back. As I do not emphasize on the ends of my hair that much, I do not experience any extra hair fall due to breakage than normal. Editor’s Note It is very important to use a heat protectant whenever you are use any heat styling tool on your hair, even if the brand says the tool does not hurt your hair. Ingredients Packaging Tresemme Botanique is a new range from Tresemme which emphasis on using more natural ingredients to remove product build up from scalp and hair. The packaging kind of depicts the fact. Tresemme Botanique Detox & Restore Shampoo is contained in a forest green matte bottle with a black press-to-open cap which also can be unscrewed from the mouth of the bottle. The bottle is opaque which makes it easier for the brand to gimmick us of giving 190 ml only for 150 bucks while in reality the bottle of any Tresemme shampoo or conditioner are always half filled. Tresemme Botanique Nourish & Repenish Conditioner comes in a white colored opaque bottle with black press to open cap at the top. The conditioner bottle contains graphics of herbs (Ginseng & Neem), with other information printed at the back. I find the packaging to be attractive, informative, leak proof & sturdy. Fragrance & Texture The fragrance of Tresemme products is always good & this range too does fit for the statement. The fragrance is little on herbal side but not in a pungent way. I rather find the fragrance sweet & mild. Sadly, the smell does not linger on hair for long. The shampoo is very runny in consistency & clear gel in texture. It lathers very well, so I do not need to use a lot of product in order to clean my hair and scalp. On the other hand, the conditioner s bit thick in consistency because it is cream based. It is white in color and is not much runny. I unscrew the cap of the conditioner to take out the product because it takes a lot of time to take out the product otherwise. My Views My hair type is dry & dull. My hair ends are really always in dire need of moisture. I like to oil my hair before shampooing to boost some moisture in my hair. I also detest using those shampoos, conditioners & serum which gives silicon build up on my hair. This range from Tresemme is specially to remove product build up and induce the natural shine into hair. I picked up this combo of shampoo & conditioner with out any hesitation. It is important to use a clarifying shampoo every few days to keep your hair free of product build up. Talking about the shampoo I like the smell, consistency & the texture. It lathers well upon mixing when diluted with water. It cleanses my scalp & hair of any dirt, grim & oil that my hair might have. If I have oiled my hair, I do go for an another round of shampoo but with half the amount. My hair feels soft & smells nice while I am still rinsing them. Taking out the excess water out of my hair after shampoo, I take out some conditioner in the palm of my hand. I spread it across my hair till roots avoiding the scalp. It it not that utterly creamy conditioner, like I want my conditioner to be, but it still amazingly conditions & de-tangles my hair withing 3-5 minutes while I take my shower. After taking my shower, I rinse out the conditioner & take out excess water out of my hair. Let my hair dry naturally & then go for a hair serum. The texture of my hair has improved. There is definitely induced level of shine. My hair are more obi dent and less frizzy. I really am liking this hair care combo. Summary I really recommend Tresemme Botanique Detox & Restore Shampoo And Nourish & Replenish Conditioner, as clarifying shampoo & conditioner which are free of parabenes & dyes. The shampoo cleanses scalp and hair of dirt, oil & grim. Contains anti bacterial & anti fungal ingredients. The conditioner is nourishing and works even on dry & dull hair. The combo seem to be suitable for all hair types, as the texture of the combo is very light. Guest Post By Sreeparna Today’s review is going to be about Ketoconazole and Zinc Pyrithione Shampoo Scalpe+. It is basically a drug-store shampoo to cater various scalp problems like dandruff and itchiness. The two main ingredients of this product are Ketoconazole and Zinc Pyrithione. Ketoconazole is an anti-fungal often used to treat fungal infections like dandruff while Zinc Pyrithione is an anti-bacterial and antifungal substance that helps to cure Seborrhoeic Dermatitis. Some other popular dandruff curing cleansers including Clear use Zinc Pyrithione in their formula. I think I have become an authority of this particular product because I have been using this product for 10+ years! So, here we go with my experience on Scalpe+. About Ketoconazole and Zinc Pyrithione Shampoo Scalpe+ For Dandruff & Seborrhoeic Dermatitis of Scalp Price Rs.256 for 75ml Ingredients Ketoconazole IP 2% w/w Zinc Pyrithione 1% w/w (as dispersion) In a conditioning base q.s. Colour :Carmoisine How to Use Wet hair and scalp and apply sufficient shampoo to produce enough lather. Massage for one minute and rinse with warm water. Repeat procedure for additional 3 minutes. Rinse with warm water and dry hair. Use twice a week for four weeks and followed by once weekly as maintenance therapy or use as directed by the Physician. Packaging This anti-dandruff shampoo comes in a white plastic squeeze bottle with fuchsia plastic flip-open lid. The bottle has a very easy-grip shape which helps to hold the shampoo bottle in the damp environment of my shower area. Like any other common shampoos this shampoo also has label graphics and the useful information in written form. The shampoo bottle came housed inside a cardboard packaging but I cannot show it to you because I lost that. As every bit of information, mentioned in that box is also written in the bottle; I do not have to worry! Color, Texture & Smell Scalpe+ shampoo is baby pink in color. It has a mild floral smell to it. The fragrance is similar to Sunsilk’s pink variant. This shampoo has medium-to dense thickness. The consistency is comparable to Head & Shoulder shampoos. My Views Dandruff had never been very acute on my case until I was diagnosed with hormonal disorders. Even now you won’t be able to find tiny dandruff flakes on my scalp except for the ‘season-change’ time. But, I like to keep this lotion, which is basically a cleansing shampoo kind of product, handy at all times because I suffer with irritating itchy scalp whenever I get dandruff. I follow the usage instruction strictly at this dandruff-phase. When the problem subsides I increase the gap between each two uses because overuse of this seems to make my hair dry and prone to split-ends like most of the dandruff shampoos in the market including Head & Shoulder. This deep cleansing property on the other hand makes this shampoo a nice clarifying cleanser to get rid of the product build-ups in my scalp. Coming to the performance, Scalpe shampoo has proved itself to be worthy to stay in my stash by its excellent dandruff catering caliber! Whenever I start to get itchy dandruff or oily dandruff, I use this and within a week the problem disappears completely. It does not smell bad like some other medicated dandruff shampoos and does not make my hair that much dry as well. I just have to heavy-oil my hair beforehand to quarantine the drying effects, which is not a big price to pay to relieve my scalp issues. Likes Treats dandruff and itchiness really well Clarifies the scalp from product build-ups Smells nice Attractive packaging and ergonomic shape Moderately priced Full ingredient list and usage instruction is given Dislikes May induce further dryness to already dry and damaged hair Summary: 4.85/5 I would recommend this anti-dandruff shampoo to someone who wants a quick-action shampoo to treat common scalp problems like flaky or oily dandruff, itchy scalp etc. This product makes an effective clarifying hair cleanser as well. Japakusum Herbal Shampoo is a mild shampoo suitable for everyday usage. I am happy with the results, & I will continue using this shampoo as it is much better than the expensive range of shampoos from big brands. I really recommend this shampoo if you are looking for a herbal & affordable shampoo. Sad that it contains parabenes.

Today I will be reviewing the Royal jelly and Lavender conditioner from the new Garnier Ultra Blends range. This new haircare range of Garnier is actually the counterpart of the Whole Blends range they have launched for the US and other countries. The Whole Blend range is quite raved about in the beauty world so I was super excited to try the Ultra Blends products. When they first came into the market I got this Royal Jelly and Lavender conditioner along with the oil-in-cream from the same range which I have already reviewed here on High On Gloss. This conditioner is said to reduce hair fall due to breakage. As I am growing out my hair, I am trying to reduce split ends and breakages. That is why I opted for this particular conditioner. It has a brownish ochre-coloured flip-top cap. There is embossing of leaf shape at the opening. The packaging is quite similar to the shampoo from the same range by Garnier. The packaging is simple yet elegant, sturdy as well as travel-friendly. Colour, Texture & Smell The conditioner is opaque and white in colour. The consistency of this conditioner is thick and creamy. The thickness is similar to other Garnier shampoos but consistency-wise it is creamier. It smells like fresh lavender. The fragrance is very soothing and calming. The smell is slightly stronger when I pour it onto my palm but not at all overpowering when I apply it. It gives me a spa-like relaxing experience and prevents my scalp from smelling foul due to excessive sweating. My Views Immediately after shampooing I squeeze out the excess water from my hair and apply this conditioner on the ends of my hair. I keep it on my hair for about 3-4 minutes and then wash it off. Less is more for this product. Only a dollop of the product is needed for my medium-to-long length hair! The performance of this conditioner is really impressive. My hair looked smoother, shinier and healthier from the first application itself. It has been able to tame my unruly freezes without weighing my hair down. Combing my hair has now become a lot easier. The conditioner is very pocket-friendly. 1 ml of product costs only Re.1. This conditioner contains some of the widely appreciated herbal ingredients like honey, lavender oil, royal jelly and amla extract. Honey is a great nourishment agent for hair, it softens hair. Lavender oil increases blood circulation which enhances hair growth. Royal jelly is rich in biotin which plays a major role in making hair strong from the roots and improving hair texture. Amla controls hair fall and helps to prevent premature greying of hair. Although the product has many herbal constituents it is not entirely free from chemicals like alcohols. This is the only con I could find in this conditioner. Likes Smells awesome. Tames frizz. Free from harmful parabens. Does not make my hair limp. Pocket-friendly. The ingredient list includes some wonderful constituents like honey, royal jelly, lavender oil etc. Dislikes Contains silicones Summary: 4.75/5 I love love love this conditioner. It has amazing soothing fragrance, perfect consistency and fits in my budget too. Its effectiveness has exceeded my expectations. It nourishes my dry hair without making it limp. It reduced hair fall due to breakage to a good extent. My hair looks shinier, healthier after using this conditioner.
