Citrus, berry and mint are three of my absolute summer favorites. In my today’s review I am going to blabber on a soap-free facial cleanser which is currently blowing my mind with its minty freshness. I got this one from the Aroma Magic counter in my local beauty store last year but could not finish. I am going to finish it very soon so I thought about sharing my views on this product to you. Read on to know how it works for me. About Aroma Magic Mint Cleanser A soap free non oily cleanser. Deep cleanses the pores and removes excess oil and sebum. Its anti bacterial agent helps skin to maintain normal condition and look fresh, clean and healthy. Price Rs.135 for 50gm Active Ingredients Natural extracts of Peppermint, Spearmint, Clove, Neem and pure, organic essential oils of Geranium, Rose and Tea Tree. How To Use Dampen skin, apply a little cleanser with warm water and massage gently. Wipe off with damp cotton or sponge. Use morning and night. Packaging This cleanser comes in two types of packaging. The 50gm pack which I have is a tub pack while the 100gm pack has tube packaging. My tub is made up of sturdy plastic and is completely leak-proof. Its body is pure white in colour and the screw-cap is red. Previously majority of Aroma Magic products had such packaging but recently they have revamped their packaging. The mint cleanser tub has every bit of information mentioned on the body along with brand logo etc. There is nothing much worth mentioning about the packaging except I find such tub packagings quite unhygienic. I don’t like to dip my finger every time I am applying it to my face. So, I have kept an ice-cream spoon to help me out with my cleanser tub. Fragrance & Texture This soap-free cleanser is greenish white in colour and its texture looks thick and creamy. But when I apply it with a little water the creamy feel just vanishes away. You can actually dissolve the cleanser in water. I have always been a fan of fresh fragrances and that is the reason I will make repeated purchases of this product in future. It has a very energizing mint and clove fragrance that feels quite strong when the product is being applied. After that it reduces greatly and only a faint hint remains as I cleanse it with water. My Views Aroma Magic’s Mint Cleanser was my first attempt towards cream cleansers for oily skin and I am quite happy that I have come across such an effective product. Though this one looks like a dense cream in the tub, once applied it does not feel oily at all. It takes surprisingly less water to get off from the skin. It mattifies the skin like foam face washes like Himalaya Neem foaming face wash or Pond’s Whitebeauty face cleanser. Though my combination skin becomes oily in summer, twice a day application of this product is not required. So, I use this in the morning because this is the time I experience more oily skin. This cleanser has cooling effects on the skin which is another nice thing about this product after its minty fragrance. If you are someone with sensitive eyes you are advised to keep this cleanser away from the eye area to prevent stinging sensations. This product is able to shrink the existing pimples but not those stubborn cystic ones. Though it does not disrupt my current skin condition, it does not prevent new break outs either. Likes Cleanses skin thoroughly and makes face oil-free Has refreshing mint aroma Calms down the skin Does not contain harsh surfectants or foam producers Does not cause further breakouts and shrinks pimples Budget-friendly Dislikes Unhygienic tub packaging Does not help with cystic acne Full ingredient list missing Summary: 4.5/5 I would recommend this mint based cleanser to people with oily and acne prone skin (except for extremely sensitive skin) who are searching for a mild and soap-free mattifying cleanser to calm their skin. Over the years I have seen that Neem based cleansers seem to suit me. So, whenever I discover a new Neem face wash I promptly buy that. Today I am going to compare the performances of two of the bestseller Neem face washes. Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Wash Vs. Patanjali Neem & Tulsi Face Wash Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Wash To begin with, Himalaya Herbals’ Purifying Neem Face Wash is the most effective and fuss-free face wash of all the facial cleansers that I have come across till now. I am using it on and off for 5-6 years now. Over the years, I have noticed no difference in quality of this product for which I must appreciate the quality control at Himalaya Herbals. I get bored of using the same face wash every time for long so every now and then I reach for other products. But, whenever my acne prone combination skin gets into trouble I promptly come back to this. That is why you will be able to find this product in my vanity all the time. I generally buy the 100ml or 150ml tube but this time I opted for the biggest pack, their shower friendly inverted bottle pack to minimize the number of repurchases. Below are a few points, I thought, are worth mentioning about this amazing product: The active ingredients are Neem and Turmeric Available in 6 sizes; priced at Rs.15 for 15ml, Rs.60 for 50ml, Rs.110 for 100ml, Rs.140 for 150ml, Rs.170 for 200ml and Rs.230 for 300ml Cleanses skin deeply without over-drying Fragrance is good but minimal Does not cause new breakouts or aggravates the existing ones Patanjali Neem & Tulsi Face Wash I saw this Neem & Tulsi face wash by Patanjali at a friend’s vanity and the packaging kind of attracted me. Finally, I had a chance to buy it last summer. I used it for a week or two but did not like it that much then because I needed a stronger cleanser back then. It sat there in my washroom closet for months before I started using it in the end months of winter this year. This time, however, it performed well as my skin was not that much oily and pimple-prone in those colder days. Though this cleanser has nice fragrance and decent oil cleansing capability without over-drying the skin it felt like just another cleanser to me due to two major reasons. Firstly, it was unable to cleanse out my pores properly so small bumps of clogged pores started to appear after a few days of continuous usage. I think, people who have normal skin which is not very pimple-prone like mine would not face this problem. And secondly, to getting rid of this cleanser from the face completely is a tedious task involving extra time, extra water and extra effort. As far I remember my first face wash was from Pond’s only when I started using one during my teenage days. After that I used almost every face wash that Pond’s came out with. I always admire it’s facial cleansers. Today I am going to talk about a very effective cleanser from Pond’s which must be favorite of many girls. Charcoal is a powerful substance, I did not know until I used, Pond’s Pure White Deep Cleansing Facial Foam. It is one hell of a cleanser. It really suck out dirt & oil in just first wash. This is HG cleanser of my little sister, be it any season. About POND’S Pure White Deep Cleansing Facial Foam Pond’s Pure White deep Cleansing Facial Foam is formulated with activated Carbon & Vitamin B3. The black activated carbon helps to absorb dirt & lifts away impurities while deep cleansing pores. It helps to wash away the impurities which causes blemishes and reveals brighter looking skin. The main features of this face wash: It contains Activated Carbon. Easily absorbs & lifts away the Black impurities. Helps to remove the cause of blemishes. Reveals your natural looking pure white skin. Price Rs. 192 for 100 gms. Rs. 99 for 50 gms. Rs. 37 for 20 gms. Buy here. Ingredients Packaging The face wash comes in a black opaque tube with a flip top at the top. There are white & purple accents on the tube giving it an attractive look. At the front of the tube the title of the face wash is printed along with logo of Pond’s. At the back, product information, ingredients & other related information is printed. The packaging is sturdy. The face wash also comes in travel size packaging. Color, Texture & Smell This is a grey colored creamy face wash. The consistency is not runny but spreads & is smooth to touch. It lathers very well. A small pea size of the face wash covers my whole face & neck. I always feel little sensation on my face every time I use this face wash. The face wash, washes away easily leaving skin matte. The face wash smells mild & pleasant. My Experience This is, as I earlier said, is one hell of a cleanser. I just need a pea size amount and few drops of water to make enough lather to cover my face and neck. Apply on my face & massage for a while. I feel little sensation every time I put this face wash on my face. Maybe that’s how the activated carbon works in pulling out impurities, I think. I wash away with plain water revealing squeaky skin behind. My face looks very clear, fresh & bright after use. There is little dryness that I feel afterwords this face wash (actually every face wash from Pond’s, make me run to grab a moisturizer). Clean n Clear or any such light face wash is enough to take care of the dryness. The face wash runs for a long time since very small quantity is required for each application. It is quite economical. Also I have traveled with 20 gms packaging which did not pose any leakage problem to me. Likes Creamy & smooth texture. Lathers very well. Cleans off dirt & oil effectively. Leaves skin matte & clean. Skin feels bright & clear. Affordable, economical & easily available. Dislike My oily skin feels little dry afterwords. But this is not a major con for me. Summary : 4.5/5 I find this face wash to be a great boon for oily skin specially in summer, when we need extra cleansing and matte finish afterwords. The face wash effectively cleanses dirt & oil and keeps skin matte for long hours. This is also affordable & economical as well as comes in many sizes. AhaGlow S is great face wash for acne prone and oily skin for summers. It mainly contains Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Aloe Vera Extracts. It unclogs pores of dirt & oil by mildly exfoliating skin at a micro level. This might feel bit drying at first but skin gets used to the formulation pretty soon.

It is the best time to use those overcoats and extra layers of woollen clothes that are hiding in your closet. Cover yourself from head to toe. Don’t even expose your fingers, they would go numb or swell like most of the people complain. Stay protected and cozy. No matter temperature it is, but we have to carry out our daily chores and cleansing as well. Face wash is something you can not skip even on a cold day. Speaking of a face wash, let’s talk about a face wash from Pond’s which is my recent buy. It’s from the Pond’s White Beauty Range and named as Pearl Cleansing Gel. About Ponds White Beauty Pearl Cleansing Gel Pond’s claims that it is infused with Pearl Essence. Pearl Essence is linked with skin freshness and fairness. From decades pearl/diamond bhasam are used in cosmetics and Pond’s formulated its own formula know as Oxy Gel formula. According to Pond’s, the Oxy Gel Formula effectively removes oil & dirt but does not rip of the skin moisture. It is a refreshing and foamy formula leaving your skin bright and glowing. Price Rs. 95 or 50g. Buy here. Ingredients Packaging It comes in an attractive packaging which is one of the reasons that I bought it. I feel having attractive packaging, makes a product sell fast. It comes in a rose pink transparent tube with a flip top to disperse the product. It is quite convenient and travel friendly packaging. Since the tube is transparent you can check on the amount of the face wash left. Colour, Texture & Smell The face wash, as mentioned, is a gel. It is clear gel which foams while application on skin. There are no beads or anything else. There are small bubbles in the tube, which depict as small beads and that’s what I thought when I bought it. I took is a mild exfoliating face wash. The smell of the gel is quite mild and pleasant as compared to the smell of the Pimple Clear face wash from Pond’s. My Experience As I already mentioned, I took it as a face wash with small beads as there are small bubbles in the tube. They still are. Maybe it’s just the formula of the cleansing gel. I was kind of disappointed. But then, it was my mistake. So I used this as a regular face wash. I take it in my palms and rub it with little water, it lathers well. It is a foaming cleanser, just like a regular soapy cleanser. It cleanses well. It takes away even light makeup, lipstick stains etc. Skin looks fresh after usage, but I did not notice any kind of brightening which I do not even expect from a face wash. I used it twice a day for a week ditching my other cleansers/face washes. But there was nothing extra ordinary effect to be seen on my face. It does not overly dry out skin, but skin feels tight and needs a moisturiser after wards in contrast to Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. I can give it the benefit of doubts since it’s winter. Will try it again during summer. Till then it will stay unused. Likes Cleanses well. Takes away makeup, dirt and oil. Foaming face wash. Convenient and travel friendly packaging. Dislikes Pricey since it acts just as a regular face wash. Face feels dry afterwards. Summary : 3/5 It is just a regular face wash and claims of brightening and glowing skin, could not stand true for me. It is pricey when compared to other regular face washes. Only the packaging is attractive. I would not recommend buying this face wash, as there are several other face washes from Pond’s which are worth trying. Be it face, body or hair, for every skin/hair type/condition, Himalaya has great products to offer. Today I am going to review a moisturising face wash, Aloe Vera Face Wash. If you think, you can use little harsh cleanser during winter and follow up with a heavy duty, it’s your call, but I feel, tempering with skin’s natural moisture only hurts it further. Harsh cleansers can deter the pH level of skin calling for trouble. Skin looks dull and rough if it is ripped off it’s natural moisture. Hence I believe in using a moisturising and gentle cleanser during dry days. About Himalaya Herbals Moisturising Aloe Vera Face Wash A soap-free, herbal formulation enriched with natural Vitamin-E that gently cleanses and moisturiser. Colour, Texture & Smell The face wash is light green coloured to resemble it’s composition of Aloe vera & Cucumbers. The texture of the face wash is creamy and smooth. It smells quite refreshing but little artificial. My Experience I used this face wash during last winter. Also got it this year. Even my SILs use it. The face wash is definitely a must have for winter/dry days. Winter can take out moisture even from an oily skin, while dry skin is already devoid of natural moisture. Hence, winters call for a creamy/moisturising face wash so that the moisture level of your skin is maintained and it stays soft and smooth. Himalaya Aloe Vera Moisturising Face Wash, has a creamy consistency, but it does not mean that you will be left oily, shiny after washing your face. It certainly works as a face wash without stealing off skin’s natural moisture. It is gentle on skin. I quite like the experience of washing my face with this one. It does not deposit any cream/oil on your face. It does it’s job of cleaning the skin very well. It takes away dirt, oil, impurities and light makeup with it. It doesn ot lather much, because of it’s consistency, so it is massaged onto the skin. That way it dissolves all the impurities of the skin leaving it queaky clean. Also there is no soapy/slippery film after washing the face. Skin does not feel stretchy or dry. It does not rip off skin’s natural moisture, but a moisturiser can not be skipped even for my oily skin. A very little product is needed for every application, hence it is quite economical. The only problem with tube packaging is the fact that, it gets very difficult to take the product out once it is about to finish. I start rolling the tube starting from the end of the tube to the opening, and that’s how I disperse the product in it’s last days. Likes Herbal face wash, containing the goodness of Aloe vera and Cucumber, highly moisturising in nature. Contains Vitamin E. Cleans skin very well. Creamy texture. Skin feels fresh and soft. Formulated specially for dry skin, but suits all skin types. Smells nice. Does not dry out skin. Affordable and easily available Dislikes None Summary : 5/5 Non drying, effective in cleansing and affordable face wash for dry skin types. Works great even for oily skin during winter. Cheryl’s Cosmeceuticals Derma Cleanse : Review

I always prefer creamy cleansers than foamy face washes. I don’t like the soapy film that most of the face washes leave behind even after washing thoroughly. Especially at night, I always use a cleanser to take the day off from my face. My current favourite cleansers are Cetaphil & Cheryl’s Derma Cleanse. Most of the times, I go for Derma Cleanse because it’s specially formulated for acne prone skin. Cheryl’s Derma Cleanse, is specially formulated with cinnamon & biosulphur. Cinnamon provides antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and microdermabrasion benefits. Biosulphur contains sulphur which heals acne naturally. It is formulated for oily & acne prone skin. Price: Rs. 750 for 180ml. Ingredients: Except, Cinnamon & Biosulphur no ingredient has been mentioned on the packaging. How to Use: Wash face & neck with water and then towel dry. Spread Cheryl’s Derma Cleanse with finger tips on whole face and neck. After 10 minutes wash off with water. Packaging: It comes in a white sturdy plastic bottle with flip top. Texture, Color & Smell: The cleanser is golden in color. Its consistency is runny. My experience with Cheryl’s Derma Cleanse: It’s an excellent cleanser, the only minus point that bothers me except the price, is to wait for at least 10 minutes before washing it off my face. So what I do is, I slather on this cleanser over my face and neck. I make my toddler to brush his teeth. Then I go brushing my teeth. I don’t keep a track of the brushing time, but after the brush time, I wash off my face. And I feel my face is squeaky clean. About the long term effects, yes it helps in soothing angry pimples. It can’t stop hormonal acne to show up on the surface, but it helps to cope up with the existing acne. This bottle is quite bulky to take out in a handbag with you. There is a smaller version, not sure about the exact quantity, but its priced about 350 bucks. The packaging is quite leak proof from what I have experienced. But I accidentally dropped my bottle from a high shelf in washroom, and it got a crack in the neck if you could see in the pictures. Now the product leaks from that crack. Likes: Does its job of cleaning, fabulously, without leaving a soapy film behind. Soothes down acne. Pimples go away fast. Takes away face makeup & dirt. One bottle lasts long, about 3 months when used once a day. Travel Size pack also available. Dislikes: Way too pricey for a cleanser. 750 bucks for a cleanser in one go? Things I do to keep acne at bay. Need to wait for 10 minutes before washing up the cleanser. Can’t control hormonal acne on its own. Complete ingredient list is missing. Rating: 4.5/5 Final Words: It’s a keeper. It’s on my HG List.
