Tanning is the main problem during summer season. It literally freaks us out. Every body has different skin type & tanning virtue varies with skin type & complexion. There are very effective tan removing masks that I am penning down, but meanwhile, I thought I should review Himalaya Herbals Tan Removal Orange Face Wash, Orange Scrub & Orange Peel Off Mask. The trio pack claims to remove tan with regular use. I have been using it about a month now, & I think it’s time that I should review it for you guys. We all know Orange has tan removing capabilities due to it’s citrus-y nature. It is full of Vitamin C which fades away tan very easily. Hence Himalaya formulated a tan removal solution comprising of a face wash, a scrub & a peel off mask.. I got the face wash, scrub & peel off mask off the shelf individually & I have not located any such combo yet. But since they all seemed to belong to Orange range I picked them all. I am going to share my experience with this trio pack. Himalaya Herbals Tan Removal Mask, Scrub, Peel Off Mask Himalaya Herbals Tan Removal Orange Face Wash Himalaya claims that this Orange face wash cleanses & washes away tan very easily. The face wash is a blend of Orange Peel, Honey & Papain which visibly reduces tan & makes skin soft. The gentle exfoliating action of Papain removes dead skin & removes tan, Orange Peel improves skin tone while Honey moisturizes skin making it softer. Price Rs. 70 for 50 ml. A face wash is a daily need. Summer calls for refreshing face wash which takes away oil, dirt & grim leaving behind fresh & clean skin. When it smells Orange-y, it’s like icing on cake. I am really impressed by the ingredient list of this face wash which is mainly Orange Peel & Honey. Orange Peel really helps to fight tan. The face wash is orange in color, gel based & lathers very well. It has refreshing fragrance of Oranges. It takes away skin impurities in just one wash. One pea size amount is enough for one time wash. Since it is gel based face wash, it takes little more splashes of water to wash away thoroughly than the creamy cleansers. A scrub cannot be ignored in skin care. A scrub helps to keep skin clean of dead skin. I actually have had a bad experience in the past with Evertyouth peel off mask. That was way back in my college days. Since then Himalaya Herbals Orange Peel Off Mask is the first peel off mask, that I have bought. I bought this peel off mask, since it looked sensible to own the complete range. This peel off mask is also formulated with Orange Peel & Honey. Orange Peel is a natural skin lightening ingredient while Honey moisturizes skin. The peeling action takes away the tan. Makes sense? hmm, yes. Honestly, I asked my hubby to use this mask over his face first of all. No that was not mean. It is sensible. His skin is tougher than mine & his skin was badly tanned due to our recent holiday. This peel off mask was coming off easily after drying up. So I went ahead to test it on myself. The peel off mask is very runny, like the Orange face wash, & smells citrus-y, just have bit of stickiness in the texture for the obvious reason. I apply a moderate layer of this face mask so that it is easy to take it off after drying. It takes about 10 mintues to toally dry up. It feels bit stretchy once dry so that you know that it is time to take it off your face. I start pulling the mask up from my forehead and try to take it off in one go. It does not break off easily & does not hurt my skin. My face might have some bits of the masks, that I mostly wash away. I like the clear & bright face that it gives. My face doesn ot feel stretchy or dry. Rather it looks bright & glowy. Overall, I would say, that this is a nice range from Himalaya Herbals like it’s Neem range which works on every body. Himalaya did not disappoint me with the Orange Tan Removal range. The trio combo is nice to treat your tan when you do not have time to go for home made face packs & scrubs. You can use the face wash daily, the scrub every alternate day & the peel off mask at your own will, to keep the tan at bay. The combo is going to suit all skin types. The Face Shop Real Nature Green Tea Sheet Mask : Review

The Face Shop is very popular among beauties for it’s Korea origin. Korean skin care ranges are popular for their unique ingredients. The Face Shop brings Korean skin care to India at very affordable price. The Green Tea mask from TFS was lying from a long time in my stash. Finally I used it yesterday since I was supposed to attend an event. Last weekend I was out in the sun a lot & their was bit of tanning on my face. I wanted to test out the efficacy of this Green Tea Mask, & hence used it while expecting a tan free face. Read on to know about my experience. Price The face masks from The Face Shop are priced between 120-100. I bought it from Amazon, for 80 bucks few weeks back. Buy here. Ingredients Packaging It is a sheet mask made up of a thin fabric dipped in skin serum. The sheet mask has holes cut in for eyes, nose & lips, but I think they are not really proportionate to Indian bone structure. The sheet mask is packaged folded inside a very attractive sachet showing Green Tea leaves in a plate. How I Used It? Before using a sheet mask/face pack I make sure to scrub my face. Before using this face pack too, I scrubbed my face. Applied rose water as toner (as instructed on the pack to use a toner). The sheet mask is quite thin & dipped in the skin serum. I make sure to take out the sheet mask carefully so that the serum does not drip off the mask. I unfold the sheet mask and try to adjust the holes onto my features. I kept it on my face for half an hour, after which I felt the serum was almost absorbed into my skin. I took the sheet mask off my face after 30 minutes, & massaged the left over skin serum onto my face & neck. Left it to dry without washing my face. There was bit of stickiness until the serum got absorbed totally. Efficacy I was thrilled to see a natural glow on my face without any trace of tan. Yes, my face was completely tan free. I washed my face after few hours with plain water without using a face wash. Went ahead with a moisturizer & party makeup. The evening went bright & beautiful 🙂 Likes Korean skin care at affordable price. Very effective in giving glowing skin with even single use. Removes tan in single use. Easy to carry & use. No burning sensation or irritation noticed. Smells mild & pleasant. Dislikes The sheet mask is not a good fit for Indian facial features. I have used many sheet masks from TFS, and all of them were misfit for my round face. Summary: 5/5 I have used many sheet masks from The Face Shop, and all of them worked really well on my skin. This Green Tea Mask is no exception. It gives clear & glowing skin in no time. The sheet mask is affordable & easy to use too. I am sure you guys must have used a lot of sheet masks from TFS. To protect our skin it becomes very important to seal the moisture into the skin. Those of us who are blessed with dry skin treat the skin with heavy moisturizers. But due to the presence of some pore-clogging ingredients, moisturizers with richer formula are not at all perfect for oily skin types. Being an oily skinned girl, I have to face this moisturizer dilemma every winter. If I use heavy creams or lotions even once, I get major breakouts in no time. This year, however, I decided to try a moisturizing face mask with kitchen ingredients to solve this problem. This way I am able to continue with my oil-free moisturizer as this face mask will supply me the essential nourishment. I have selected ingredients in a way that this face pack will help to reduce my sun-tans too. Today I am going to share my version of Honey-Oatmeal-Rice Flour Replenishing Face Mask. As I will be using products suitable for oily skin, I would suggest a few substitutes for dry skin side-by-side. So, sit back and read on. Things You Will Need & Why Do You Need Them Oatmeal Powder This face pack has two main dry ingredients and oatmeal powder is one of them. Oatmeal is known for its skin lightening properties. Being rich in polysaccharides Oats can diminish dryness and nutrify the skin. I make oatmeal powder at home by grinding rolled oats. Rice Flour Rice flour is another important dry ingredient in this pack. I made this ingredient at home by fine-grinding rice in my mixer-grinder. I am using rice flour because it has anti-inflammatory property that helps to soothe dry skin. If you do not have rice flour at hand, use whole wheat flour or gram flour instead. Honey Honey is great natural emollient. That means, it has a tendency to attract humidity towards itself. In my pack this ingredient acts as a nourishment agent. Texture wise honey is a bit heavy. Currently I am having lesser breakouts, that is why I used honey. If you are very prone to pore clogging, glycerine would be a neutral solution. Toner In my face mask, I am using a good quality facial toner to bind all the dry ingredients together to achieve the desired consistency. In place of toner, you may use rose water, milk or even plain drinking water depending on your skin’s current condition. Turmeric Powder This is the X-factor of this face pack. Turmeric is known for its strong anti-septic and skin lightening properties. Cinnamon powder or orange peel powder can be used as a substitute to this ingredient. How to Prepare? Step-1: Take 1 teaspoon oatmeal powder in a bowl. Step-2: Add same amount of rice flour to it. Step-3: Take 2 pinches of turmeric powder and mix all the dry ingredients. Step-4: Now pour 1 teaspoon toner to it and blend with spoon. Step-5: Add ½ teaspoon honey to it and give a good mix to achieve the desired consistency. Let the dry ingredients soak for 4-5 minutes before applying it on the face to optimize the benefits. How To Use First I cleanse my skin properly. After patting my skin dry, I apply the pack evenly on my face and neck. I wait for 20 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water. I like to follow it up with a non-comedogenic moisturizer. I am using it three times a week and I am liking the results so far. Bonus Tips 1. The application can be messy so do not wear good cloth or your dress may get ruined. 2. Use very less amount of turmeric because it has a staining tendency. 3. You may add a bit of facial oil or skin nourishing essential oil blend for extra benefits. Try it some time, you will love it.
