Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is all time favorite of those who like to wear high coverage makeup that to for long time. I have tried many high coverage foundation but nothing as compared to Double Wear. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation & L’Oreal Paris Infallible stay Fresh Foundation had been cult favorite till I tried Double Wear. I tried this foundation for the first time few years back when I was on my second honeymoon in Thailand. But back then, I was bit dicey about it’s performance. Later I regretted skipping this foundation. Finally I got this on my last birthday along with Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara. I really get obsessed whenever I buy something new. So I have been using it since August. Every time I must use a foundation, I would reach for Estee Lauder Double Wear, while, Maybelline Fit Me & L’Oreal Stay Fresh foundation look upon me with hope in eyes. But I become stone-heart and ignore these once-favorite foundations. After using Double Wear foundation, I can understand why girls are crazy for this foundation. Let me take you on a virtual tour of this foundation’s features. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup With SPF 10 Estee Lauder presents remarkably long lasting and lightweight foundation which feels comfortable up to 15 long hours. This foundation can resist humidity & heat. This foundation is smudge free, oil free & transfer free. The foundation is formulated without fragrance. It is non acnegenic, dermatologist tested. Price & Availability This is a pricey affair at Rs. 3600 for 30ml available at Sephora & other Estee Lauder counters. You can buy at at much cheaper prices like upto 2000 INR via online shopping websites. Ingredients Packaging The outer carton of the foundation is navy blue with golden accents. It contains all the information about the foundation. The foundation comes in a transparent bottle with golden cap over it’s mouth. The packaging is not much convenient to use, a pump would have been better. Shade – Sand 1W2 I have Wheatish skin tone. I wear yellow based foundations & base makeup. This Sand shade is yellow but is bit light for my skin tone. I think this shade is wearable for light to wheatish complexions. Fragrance & Texture This is supposed to be a fragrance free foundation as claimed by Estee Lauder but I can smell something weird out of the bottle. Something really chemically. It is quite runny yet thick foundation to provide nice coverage. The formula is quick drying so one must work pretty quick before it sets by itself. My Experience My ideal foundation is one that gives above medium coverage, stay matte for long hours, does not look cakey & matches my skin complexion. Price is something I can overlook when it comes to base makeup. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is thick enough to give almost flawless coverage. I also like the fact that the finish is buildable and achievable using different tools such as foundation brush, sponge or beauty blender. I start by moisturizing my face with Clean n Clear Moisturizer which is very lightweight & water based. I take a pea size amount and start dotting my face. Quickly I start blending it all either with fingers, brush or a beauty blender. A damp beauty blender works the best to achieve natural finish. If I let the foundation stay on my face even for few seconds it literally sets as such. So I always act fast to blend it right away. As I mentioned above, this shade is not a close match to my skin tone. I bought it from Sephora & they had only had Sand with them which was yellow toned. So I behaved foolish & got this, thinking I might mix it with Maybelline Fit Me Sun Beige 310 which was lying unused with me. But the mix never worked, since they are from different brands. I still love to wear it, as it settles down to my skin tone within half an hour which is a nice thing. Since it contains SPF 10, this also adds a bit of white cast. I really don’t like makeup with SPF since it changes the shade subsequently. I also don’t understand the significance of adding this bit of SPF. It takes no time to set hence might look cakey if not blended completely. I would advise you to start with pea size amount and add layers as you go to achieve your desired coverage & finish. Likes Lightweight foundation. Gives Matte Finish. Medium to high buildable coverage. Vast shade selection to match every complexion. Smudge free, transfer free & gives long stay Controls oil for long hours. Contains SPF 10. No skin breakouts. Dislikes It is very pricey. Does not come with a pump. Has a chemical smell. Do I Recommend Estee Lauder Double Wear Makeup? It is Holy Grail foundation for oily to normal skinned girls. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for high coverage, long stay & lightweight foundation for matte finish. For dry skin, I think it might accentuate dry patches hence one must moisturize highly before using this foundation. No wonder it is favorite of makeup lovers. I am going to repurchase it in a shade closer to my skin tone once I finish the current bottle. I feel a mascara is an amazing invention. Just this one product can make your eyes talking. Most of the women would choose a mascara if they are asked to choose one makeup product they cannot survive without. Even if you have naturally thick eyelashes you still love the dramatic effect a mascara gives to your eyes. That’s what I use a mascara for. Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara is from my birthday haul. My Maybelline Volume Express Falsies Washable was getting over and I was thinking to get a water proof mascara this time, but my fickle mind. I again settled for a washable one. But I do not regret getting another washable mascara because I kind of find it a nuisance to get rid of wash proof mascaras without loosing some of my lashes in the process. I like to dress up specially in this festive occasion and this beautiful tube of mascara accompanies me every single time. Does that give you an idea how much I have been liking it? So let me make you walk through the more details of Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara in Extreme Black. Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara creates the magic you seek. It is a lash multiplying & hence volume enhancing mascara. The non clumpy Extreme Volume formula creates extreme volume for those dramatic pair of eyes. It gives a lift to the lashes & curves them perfectly. Eyes look brighter, wider & more seductive. Price & Availability It does not just mean Sumptuous but it is expensive for a mascara… We can’t complain since it’s from Estee Lauder. In Indian market it is available anywhere between 2000-2500 INR for 2.8 ml. You can find it our Nykaa as well as some international shopping websites such as Strawberry. Offline it is available at the Estee Lauder counters. Packaging The piece I have got comes in a conventional black tube with a beautiful gold long cap cum applicator. Estee Lauder logo, mascara name, and other details are printed over the black tube in gold. It gives the tube a very luxe feeling. The tube is really small you can hide it in the palm of your hand. The applicator brush of the mascara if coarse and literally gives a nice combing effect to lashes while coating them effectively. Shades 01 Extreme Black 02 Brown I got Extreme Black which is utterly black and shows on eye lashes very beautifully. My Experience With Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara A black mascara is like a basic necessity. If you use one, then only you realize what difference it can make instantly to your eyes. You an skip kajal if you are using mascara as kajal. I am sure Indians have craze for kajal too but no one can deny the importance of a mascara we have in our life.. errr.. on eyes. Coming to Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara, it is nicely pigmented. Has great non clumping formula which coats eye lashes beautifully & effortlessly. Even though I have small eyes, but my lashes are naturally curved and hence it works perfectly in shaping them more curvy while enhancing the volume. I also like the fact that the formula does not chip off after wearing it for hours. It can last all day long if I do not wash my face. It is easy to take off the mascara. A normal face wash can take it off completely. But I would suggest to rather dissolve it using almond oil or oil based makeup remover to prevent drying off the eye area. Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara in Extreme Black is a luxurious way to treat your eye lashes. It lifts eye lashes while giving nice volume. The non clumpy formula is quick dry too. The luxe packaging catches your eyes but will surely burn a hole a in your pocket. That was all about this beautiful mascara from Estee LAuder. There is one more thing that I like from Estee Lauder, it’s Double Wear Foundation which is another popular product from the brand.
