I can’t leave the house without makeup you know! Recently I got myself a new Kajal from Elle 18 because I heard good reviews about it. Previously I was switching between Lakme Eyeconic Green and Himalaya Kajal. Both Himalaya Kajal and the Elle 18 one are of black colour and both of them come under Rs.200. So, in my today’s post I will be comparing both of them to find out which one is the best quality wise, quantity wise and most importantly performance wise. Elle 18 Eye Drama Kajal in Bold Black Elle 18 Eye Drama Kajal is a simple and fuss-free twist-up basic black kajal that is a new addition to my makeup collection. These kinds of products are convenient for everyday purpose and even for occasional purposes because you only need a minute to go over both the eyes if you have practice and the eyes will be done. I have used Lakme Eyeconic, Maybelline Colossal and 1-2 other kajals of this sleek form but this one seemed to be the blackest one with amazingly smooth formula, pigmentation and staying power. Being the least costly one from this category of kohl, I expected it to be moderately good. But, I am really astonished to see the performance! For this price it’s no doubt a steal deal. It had everything that a perfect herbal kajal should have; good pigmentation, herbal formulation was two most important of them. After using it for a few days, the cons started to appear. It was not smudge-proof, waterproof and long-lasting. I did not take the pains to set the kajal with anything in powder form. So, at the end of the day I was left with racoon eyes. I remember making frequent washroom visits at college to remove the smudged kajal from the under eye area. After a few hours I used to get exhausted of clearing under eye and the panda eyes were what I would see after coming home. Finally I realized this formula is not for me and since then the Kajal is sitting in my vanity as it is. If you want my opinion on this product I would say, go for this if you are a pro with non-smudge-proof kajals or if you are allergic to chemical based kajals. Coming to today’s post, I am presenting 3 Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipsticks to you, Pink Kiss P21, Code Red R33, Grape Riot W13 . Elle 18 is very popluar among teens & budget queens. This is a matte range from Elle 18 with fabulous packaging. The range is dirt cheap. Let’s get into the details. Price Rs. 100 for 4.3gm. Dirt Cheap.. huh . Buy here. Packaging Comes in a round black tube with flat top. There is a cartoon of a chic printed on the cap of the lipstick with Elle 18 logo and range name on the lipstick. I like this new flat top packaging of these lipstick. This packaging make the lipsticks more classic in looks. One thing I would like to mention that I need to press the lipstick cover hard, over the bullet, to close it properly. Ingredients Not mentioned. Texture & Smell The texture of the lipstick is creamy matte. Since the texture is creamy hence you do not have to worry about drying out your lips due to matte lipsticks. The lipsticks have very faint chocolaty smell which is weird. But an added bonus. Shade – Pink Kiss P21 It is a nice warm toned pink which will flatter all skin tones. It can be worn to office as well as to casual outings. It is a daily wear color. Shade – Code Red R33 This is a very beautiful shade of red, a deep red. It looks burgundy if layered multiple times. This is a color that would suit evening outings very well. Shade – Grape Riot W13 This is a plum lipstick from the range a nice plum. When I see Maybelline Colorshow Violet Delight, & freak out, only a nice plum lipstick can calm me down. Grape Riot perfectly suits the picture. Pigmentation & Finish The pigmentation of Matte Lipsticks from this range is decent. 2 swipe gives enough colour to pigmented lips. The pigmentation is build able too. Even though the range is matte but when you swipe the lipstick across, there is sheen that you notice at first. The finish is nothing sort of matte. I really get confused if I am getting an original product or not. But this thing I have noticed with all the lipsticks from the matte range of Elle 18. They are not completely utterly matte, they have some sheen to them. They are moisturizing that way. Since I like to have matte finish more, I blot my Elle 18 lipsticks little. Longevity If I follow the proper steps of applying perfect lipstick, they last longer on my lips. Other wise the lipsticks stay only for maximum 2-3 hours. I think that is quite expected out of a under budget lipstick. The lipsticks bid goodbye leaving behind tinted lips. Likes Nice creamy texture. Does not dry out lips. The shades mentioned above will suit every skin tone. Very affordable. Vast range of shades. Liked the new packaging too. Quality product Dislikes Finish is not completely matte. Adds sheen to the finish. Staying power is average. Summary: 4/5 I feel the Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick range is worth the price. You can experiment with a lot of shades & fun colors. It can be worn as glossy or matte, as you may like. I just wish that Elle 18 also comes up with real matte lipsticks. A thin strip of coloured eyeliner is able to change the complete makeup-look in a jiffy. That is why, a catchy shade of coloured eyeliner would be my first choice for those lazy days when I am not in the mood of apply ample amount of makeup. Among all the colours we generally see in coloured eyeliners, brown is the most subtle shade. If I don’t want too much attention to my eyes, I go for the brown ones. Though I am more of a pencil-liner person, you will find a few liquid liners as well. Today’s review is about one such item, the Color Pop Liner from Elle 18 in Brown. Do you want to know how it fares on me? Keep reading. About Elle 18 Color Pop Liner Eye Go Vivid Tired of being plain-Jane black? Then it’s time add drama to your eyes with the Elle 18 Color Pop Liner. Get super defined eyes in just a single fluid stroke. Price Rs.85 for 5ml. Buy here. Ingredients Not Mentioned Packaging The Color Pop liner comes in a thick and transparent glass bottle with a black plastic screw-open lid. A fine liner applicator is attached to the lid of the bulbous liner bottle. The bottle bears the name of the product and company logo whereas the lid contains a depiction of a pink haired cartoon-girl. Overall, the package is quite travel-friendly, leak-proof and trendy-looking. Perfect for the college and office going girls I must say. I don’t know why, but for majority of the affordable makeup brands, nailpaint and liquid eyeliner bottles are look-alike. Elle 18 is not an exception in this matter. I have a golden glittery nailpaint from them that looks very similar to this eye liner. Texture & Smell The formula of this coloured eyeliner is liquid. The consistency is not watery; it is denser than that. It never drips off of the brush. The texture of the liner makes it easy to apply without creating mess. This kind of formula is quite desirable to me for liquid eyeliners. Pigmentation Pigmentation is very good when it comes to this particular product from Elle 18. The exact colour shows in my eyes in one stroke itself. However, it I want to darken further I do one more coat. I never needed to go over 2 coats. Variants Black, Brown, Blue, Green, Gray. Shade- Brown The shade Brown is basically a glittery golden brown. The golden tinge to it makes it appear bronzy. This is a great shade for Indian complexions. Finish This Color Pop eyeliner gives glittery finish. The shimmer is not too over-the-top because the glitter particles are very finely dusted. You can actually use it for daytime, colleges and workplaces without any hitches to look extremely made-up. Longevity It stays put for 5-6 hours in cool weather. However, in humid summer the staying power is limited to 3-5 hours if you have oily eyelids. It is not waterproof. If you splash water over it and then rub vigorously, it comes off. If you are not sweating profusely, the product will remain smudge-proof. My Experience To be frank, I am not at all good at liquid or gel eyeliners. I am still learning to do fine lines close to my upper lash-line. Kajals, specially the retractable ones are my thing because their firm tips give far better idea to ‘how close am I’ to my lash-line. I got this eyeliner to practice my hands at liquid eyeliners. You may ask ‘why is that?’ or ‘why not any basic black liner?’ Well, the answer is, to my spectacle-d eyes it is very difficult to identify the minute mistakes I make with a golden-brown liner than any other coloured liners. Brown is closest shade to my skin tone than grey, green, blue or black. Quite a hack, isn’t it! Coming to my experience, I often use it for lining my upper lids if I am opting for minimal makeup looks or daytime looks. If I want more drama, I line my eyes with it in a very thickly and then go over it with basic black liner to draw a thin line. It takes just a minute to dry down. Then it becomes smudge proof. The main con of this product is that, it is not water proof though it claims to be. But, when you shed only 85 bucks for a glitter-eyeliner you must not regret if it’s not waterproof. I am actually happy that the colour-payoff is good. The best way to remove this eye liner is to use a cream based cleansing-milk. I first apply the cleanser over the liner and wait for 15-20 seconds before rubbing it off with a soft cotton pad. I browsed through and realized you people are looking for Color Boost Range of Elle 18 Lipsticks. So here I am writing a review of this range and putting up few swatches of a beautiful colour Superlicious Red from the same range. Elle 18 is an affordable brand which is very popular among youngsters specially the college going girls. To be frank I never liked the initial versions of Elle 18 lipsticks since they lacked at the pigmentation front. But Elle 18 is improving its formula constantly and now the lipsticks perform really well at every front. About Elle 18 Color Boost Lipstick Elle 18 presents this much improved new formula of Color Boost lipsticks containing dual core for intense pigmentation and moisturisation. The lipsticks stay for long hours while keeping your lips moisturised with Cocoa Butter. A wide of shades available to choose from. Price Rs. 150. Buy here at discounted price. Ingredients Not mentioned. Packaging The lipstick comes in the signature packaging of Elle 18 lipisticks this time with a little variance in colour. The lipstick comes in a black a bullet with bright pink cap. The cap shows off Elle 18 logo with a Chic wearing a pink lip colour. The lipstick is dual core. At the core there is Cocoa Butter to give moisturisation as well as the sheen to lips. Shade name and no are printed at the bottom of the lipstick. Shade – Superlicious Red 10 The Color Boost range of Elle 18 lipsticks contain more than 15 beautiful colours. The shade Superlicious Red is a beautiful bright lip colour. Looks really beautiful on lips. Texture & Smell The texture of the lipstick is creamy and since it contains Cocoa butter it make the formula very easy to glide on lips and gives beautiful luscious lips. The lipstick does not smell a bit. Also does not taste weird. Pigmentation The pigmentation of Elle 18 lipsticks has improved a lot over the past few years. The pigmentation of this range is also decent. 1-2 swipes are enough to give that perfect colour to my lips. Finish The lipstick gives a satin finish. But a matte finish can be achieved by blotting your lips with a tissue. To achieve intense pigmentation, apply a layer of the colour to your lips and then blot with a tissue. Again swipe the lipstick bullet across your lips for final finish. Longevity Being a moisturizing lipstick the shade stays only for 2-3 hours and wears off leaving a beautiful reddish tint behind. The improved pigmentation of Elle 18 lipsticks is decent though the staying power of this range in not much impressive. In case you are low on budget or do not mind touching up, few gorgeous shades from this range won’t hurt. I tried to pull off multiple colors from same colour family. Played with red & blue hues. Do you ever notice how the colours from a same colour family very from each other. The transition is amazing. Another Saturday Rambling – Another Haul

Before I got married, my Saturdays were dedicated to shopping with my sister. It does not happen much now, as we live in different cities. Since we are together this weekend, we decided to make the Saturday remember-able and have a walk down the memory lane which resulted into a small haul. I have tried the Almond version of Garnier Ultra Blends Range, and it suited my hair really well. Since I am a fan of lavender smell, I got it. Hope this variant( Royal Jelly & Lavender ) will also suit my hair. Joveen Musk is a brilliant fragrance, and I use it now and then. Was quite hesitant about the Streax Hair Serum but the SA insisted a lot. NELF is a relatively new brand to Indian market, but is a decent and affordable USA brand. I got a lip gloss and silver gel liner from NELF. I don’t know why, but Incolor has impressed me quit a lot these days. I have used eyeliners from Incolor as well as lip colors. Today I got 2 in 1 lip creams from Incolor which are similar to NYX Lip Creams. Also picked a quite orange-y lip gloss. I am a fan of Elle 18 nail pops, got few more shades. Aroms Magic Anti Pigmentation mask, is a my HG mask. It was getting over hence, got it. Also got Dabur Gulabari, it’s quite refreshing when used with face masks. After shopping, we sat down for coffee to rest our feet, we agreed, how much we missed it. This time together, no matter how old we get, we can never forget the connection that we have between us. I got this little box just because it was way to cute to miss. I have something for boxes. I love them. Someday, I will show my collection. Is there anything you liked in my small haul?
