It’s been a while since I did a pout post err.. I mean a lipstick post. So here I am back with a review of a lipstick from Maybelline ColorShow range, which is a great hit due to it’s formula & color range. I am going to talk about a shade Cream Caramel 306 which I thought would be a brownish but is rather a fellow from red family. Brands often come with such misleading name I tell you. Another red goes into my kitty. When I got this particular lipstick, I actually went to have a look at the newly launched nude shades from Maybelline. But somehow I ended up buying another ColorShow lipstick. About Maybelline ColorShow Intense Fashionable Lipcolor You will love this creamy formula with intense color that too in a wide range. The lipsticks contain ultra hydrating formula while giving a satin finish to your lips. The formula is so intense that the color does not fade away even in humid conditions. Maybelline promises that all the shades will suit Indian skin tones. Price Used to retail at Rs. 299, but now you can buy these bullets at highly discounted price. Buy here. Ingredients Ingredients list come on the outer transparent wrap of the lipstick but it is not really readable easily. Packaging It comes in black bullet with a color coded band at the mid to recognize the color family. The packaging is sturdy and classic. I quite like it. Texture & Smell The lipstick is very creamy. The formula is highly hydrating for sure. The lipsticks glide on lips very easily giving intense colour. The lipstick also contain some very fine shimmer which are not visible upon application. Maybe the glossiness of the lipstick can be attributed to the fine shimmer present in the lipstick. There is a very mild and chocolaty sweet smell present in the lipstick. The fragrance is very faint so you will notice the smell only you put efforts to. Shade – Cream Caramel 306 I associate Caramel to brown, so when I read the shade name, I thought it might be some nude shade which it is not. Caramel should lean more towards brown, while this shade leans more towards Red. Sometimes it looks subtle Coral while sometimes it looks Peachy. However, it suits my wheatish skin tone. The shade contains fine shimmers and hence sheen can be noticed on the lips after wearing it. The formula is intense in hydration as well as pigmentation. Pigmentation I have noticed the pigmentation of this range is impressive. I have used few lipsticks from this range all of the have fared well on the pigmentation front. Longevity This lipstick lasts for 3-4 hours only. I am left with a reddish tint afterwords. That is quite expected from a creamy lipstick. Finish The finish of the lipstick is little is satin smooth, which can be toned down by blotting. There are very fine shimmers in the formula which gives nice sheen to the lips. When the glossiness goes away, the shimmer particles are more visible on lips. Likes Creamy texture. Satin finish. Impressive pigmentation. Peachy-coral shade. The shade will suit all Indian skin tones. Affordable & easily available. Sturdy packaging. The range has a wide verity of shades. Dislikes Misleading name. Some might not like the ultra shiny formula. The shimmer particles become more obvious after a hour or so. Summary The creamy texture & satin finish is impressive while being at affordable price. Lasts for about 3-4 hours depending on your lips activity. I think one can go for many shades from this range. I was kind of missing it. I love foggy days, they are so mysterious yet promising. I know not every loves fog specially the early morning travellers. But this is the perk of blogging. Sipping morning tea on bed with laptop on my lap, how great that sounds? I know even blogging requires writing from a proper work station, but I just can’t leave my bed yet. Let’s move ahead to today’s review, it’s a lipstick from Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipcolor Range. I am just very impressed from this range. It’s just so perfect. Creamy, yet matte and that too long lasting. Beautiful shades. Affordable. I think I just summarised every thing here. But still I would love to do a detailed post on this recent buy, Bold Crimson Lipstick from this range. About Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipcolor Bold Crimson I am so in love with the formula of these lipsticks. They are just so desirable. Creamy on while giving matte finish. Maybelline Claims about this range: Enriched with ultra-care hydrating formula Lip color doesn’t fade in extreme heat and humidity Shades stay true without drying up your lips Price The lipsticks from this range were originally priced at Rs. 325 but are available at much lower prices now. Buy here. Ingredients Packaging The lipstick comes in a black and bold packaging. There is a colour coded band at the opening of the bullet, which lets you know the colour of the lipstick. Range, shade name and shade number are printed at the bottom of the lipstick. The packaging is sturdy. Taste, Texture & Smell As the name suggests, the range is creamy yet matte. The lipstick is really moisturising. I really like the formula. I prefer lipsticks that are matte, but a matte lipstick goes really flat on lips accentuating dryness of the lips. But not the Colorshow Creamy Matte range from Maybelline. I have used quite a handful of lipsticks form this range, and I never faced patchy lips. Being creamy the lipstick glides very smoothly on my lips. I didn’t notice any smell out of the lipstick. But if I really try to smell out of the bullet, there is very mild sweet smell. The lipstick does not give any weird taste too. Shade This Colorshow Creamy Matte range has a wide verity of shades. My recent buy from this range is Bold Crimson M201, which is a very beautiful deep red shade. The shade, will flatter all the skin tones, and wearable during day and night. Winter is a season to flaunt deep lipcolors and this shade perfectly fits the bill. Pigmentation Pigmentation of this lipstick is really intense because, this shade is deep. But then, I found all the lipsticks from this range are nicely pigmented. One swipe across my lips gives immense colour to my lips. Colour could be built up by layering without looking patchy. The colour pay off is one of the strongest USP of this lipstick. Longevity Since the lipstick is highly pigmented and the shade is deep, you can expect wonderful coloured lips for hours. I mean, I really put it on and just forget checking lips again. After 4-5 hours, I would still find a base on my lips. This lipstick is abale to survive meals and sips, but initially it transfers because it is creamy. Final Finish The lipstick has creamy matte formula. So initially I find some satin finish, but once set, the lipstick gives matte finish. Likes Moisturizing. Matte finish. Lasts really long. Survives meals and sips. Smooth application. Intense pigmentation. Wide range of shades in this particular range. Affordable. Easily available. Dislikes Being creamy, it transfers to the objects that touch my lips, initially. Summary : 4.75/5 I really like this Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte range for it’s colour pay off, longevity and wide range of shades. The lipsticks are affordable too. This particular shade is an ever flattering colour could be worn any time by any body. I think one should own few lipsticks from this range.
