Hi Girls, Peach is a very girly colour and attracts me a lot, be it a peach dress or a lip color. While a peach dress suits me very well, a peach lip colour is tricky to flaunt. I still have got a lot of peach lip colours. Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipstick Peach Personality is a very lovely peach as the name suggests. I own Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipsticks in Rock The Coral, Peach Personality, Bold Crimson & few more. Where Rock The Coral is my go to pink, Peach Personality is definitely not an every day lipstick for me. But I try to wear it as often as I can. About Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipstick This range is matte but creamy. This is a fabulous formula. The finish is matte without feeling dry on lips. The range contains a lot of colours to suit your every mood. Maybelline Claims about this range: Enriched with ultra-care hydrating formula Lip color doesn’t fade in extreme heat and humidity Shades stay true without drying up your lips Price Rs. 325 -250. Buy here. Packaging It comes in a black tube with a colour coded band at the waist of the lipstick. The band denotes the shade of the lipstick. The shade no and name are also printed at the bottom of the lipstick. The packaging is sturdy and classy, I feel. I like square packaging when it comes to a lipstick rather than round tube. This tube also comes in square packaging but the edges are not that sharp. Shade The shade Peach Personality M303, is a pure peach lipstick, which is going to suit fair tones mostly. I am wheatish, but the shade washes me out if I wear more than 2 swipes of this lipstick. I mostly blot down the lipstick after first swipe, it looks little pinkish peach. Later after the second swipe, it looks more peachy but does not wash me away. I feel light & fair skinned girls can flaunt it fabulously but if you have wheatish to medium skin tone, you have to take it really easy. Less is more. Blotting it with a tissue may help and can bring down the tone to pinky peach. Taste, Texture & Smell I detest those lipsticks & lip colours which give some kind of taste. The Creamy Matte range of Maybelline lipsticks does not have any taste to offer. The lipstick smells mildly sweet, does not bother my sensitive nose much. This lipstick belongs to the Creamy Matte range, but it is more of a creamy lipstick and less of matte. The lipstick is way too creamy to offer matte finish. It glides on my lips like butter. I notice there is very fine shimmer in the lipstick though hardly visible on lips. Pigmentation I am impressed with the pigmentation of this range of Maybelline lipsticks. Peach Personality is a light shade but it is decently pigmented. One swipe will give the exact amount of peachiness to lips. Finish It is very very creamy. If I apply more than 2 swipes of this lipstick, it gets little patchy. It never gives a matte finish until I blot it with a tissue, but then the real colour of the lipstick is also lost and I find a pinkish peach tint on my lips. Longevity Since the lipstick shade is very light and the texture is very cream, it does not last as long as the other shades of Creamy Matte range. It stays on my lips only for about 2-3 max. But I love the tint it leaves behind. Likes Creamy consistency. Does not dry out my lips. Very pretty colour. Affordable. Easily available. A wide range of shades available. Dislikes This particular shade, washes out my wheatish skin. This shade does not last long on my lips. Does not give matte finish as compared to other darker shades. The bullet keeps on breaking while applying it since it is very creamy. Summary The Maybelline Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipstick is high quality range with wide verity of shades. The range is very affordable too. But this particular shade Peach Personality is not for every one. Also since it is very creamy you can not expect matte finish out of this shade. I would not recommend this shade to medium to dusky skin tones.

Hi, how are you doing today? I have not reviewed any product from Patanjali yet, so thought let’s do it today. I have tried many products from Patanjali, and not everything worked well for me. Some stayed decent while some were absolute rubbish. Patanjali Coconut Hair Wash has been a decent product. It didn’t disappoint me. This is a gentle and moisturizing shampoo meant for dry hair. Patanjali Coconut Hair Wash For Dry & Rough Hair A unique blend of coconut oil and natural extract of Ghritkumari, Methi, Bhringraj and Heena with neutralize base, which cleanse gently, nourish and moisturise the scalp the experience hair soft, silky and shiny. Price Rs. 95 for 150ml. Ingredients Cocus nucifera, Aloe barbednensis, Trigonella foenum graceum, Eclipta alba, Lewsonia innemis, Aqua, Soft neutralize base, sunflower oil, Diazolldinyl urea & IPBC, Sugandhit Dravya-Q.S. Packaging Comes in an opaque white tube with flip cap. How To Use Apply 2-5 ml on wet hair, massage gently for 1 minute and then rinse with water. Texture, Colour & Smell It is white coloured creamy shampoo with mild smell of sweet coconuts. My Views I like the natural composition of this shampoo, especially the coconut oil which is highly moisturizing and beneficial for hair. This shampoo is specially formulated for dry and rough hair, and hence, I bought this to test it’s claim. I feel like my hair are the driest in the world. The ends specially are like straw. The consistency of the shampoo is creamy which is desired in a moisturizing shampoo. It does not lather much, It’s like Cetaphil Cleanser, which does not lather but works. Although I don’t like this fact. Until my shampoo makes some bubbles, I don’t feel like my hair are clean. Hair feel soft and smooth while I rinse the shampoo after massaging it for a minute. I feel like it coats hair strands with something velvety which make my hair feel good. A conditioner is a must for my hair, but to test a shampoo, I skip one. I air dry my hair. My hair feels nourished to some extent. There is some shine that I can account to the shampoo. But there is little roughness in the hair. If I use a conditioner after this shampoo, hair feel much better. The roughness is gone and hair are manageable. Which means with this shampoo, I cannot skip using a conditioner afterwards. This shampoo cleanses hair no doubt, but to get rid of overnight oil application on hair and scalp I have to use a lot of product since the oil is already moisturising and creamy. After a point, the shampoo does not come out of the tube. And it really takes an effort. Likes Herbal composition. Contains goodness of coconut oil. Smells very nice. Works on dry hair. Makes hair smooth and soft. Adds shine to hair. Affordable & easily available. Suitable for all hair types. Dislikes Does not lather much. A lot of product is required to get oil out of hair. Product some times gets stuck in the tube. Failed to arrest hair fall. Summary : 3.5/5 I like it for it’s moisturizing effect, but for harsh winters it’s not enough for dry hair. Affordable shampoo. Check out my winter time shampoos Organix Argan Cream Shampoo FARCOM Mea Natura Olive Oil Shampoo Love

How are you liking the series? My main motive to start #thebasicsseries is to address some very small yet crucial queries about skin, hair & makeup. I started this series with night creams. I hope you liked the introduction to foundations. Now let’s move on to more details about the application of foundation. How To Apply Foundation Step 1- Moisturise Very important step, especially if you are using a liquid or powder based foundation. Never forget to moisturize your skin. Other wise the foundation may look flaky or accentuate your dry spots or fine lines. For even looking face, you must moisturize your face. Dry skins should use a heavy duty moisturizer such as Cetaphil while oily skins can use as light as Clean n Clear Oil Free Moisturiser. Also you can put your sunscreen at this step. Step 2 – Prime Primers are important. Primers give a smooth base to start off and keep you makeup intact for hours. They also create a layer between your skin and makeup so that your makeup does not react badly with your skin. NYX primers are my favourites. Step 3 – Dot Start applying the foundation by dotting your face with some foundation. Never start applying foundation with a lot of product. Always take pea size amount and build the coverage as you need. Step 4 – Blend Blending is the key to get a flawless base. You can blend using your fingers, sponge or a brush. Blend the foundation in circular motion to get a pore-less look. If you use straight storks the foundation may look chalky or uneven. Step 5 – Set With Powder You can apply blush/ bronzer and sculpt your face as you want. Now you need to set every thing with a translucent powder. This step is mostly considered optional, but is rather an important step. Dab a little translucent powder over your foundation to keep it in place for longer. It will also prevent your skin to look oily. To apply the powder, only dab on your skin, don’t rub it otherwise you will ruin your base. Need To Wear A Concealer? A high coverage foundation leave little space of concealer. Still, if you must wear a concealer, consider few points. If you are going to wear a corrective concealer (orange, green or purple) wear it before your foundation. If you are going to wear regular concealer, you can wear it after wearing your foundation wherever required. Read Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. Fingers, Sponge Or Brush- What To Use? I think it’s personal choice, and every type of technique has some pros and cons. Blend Using Your Fingers When you blend the foundation using your fingers, your fingers produce little warmth which make the foundation more blendable. But there might be some uneven blending due to uneven pressure applied on the skin. If you are using a heavy coverage foundation, blending with your hands may give cakey look. Blend Using Sponge/Beauty Blender Beauty Blenders are quite in these days. It’s because of the air finish look they give. You can apply any type of makeup with them and not just foundation. You can achieve full coverage with out looking fake. Before applying the foundation using a sponge, dip the sponge into water and squeeze the excess water out of it. Now take the product and apply. This way you will have more natural finish. Sponges eat a lot of product. Blend Using A Brush This is the most commonly used professional method of applying a foundation. You can either use a foundation brush, a stippling brush or any kabuki brush. A foundation brush can be used to achieve more coverage, while a stippling brush can give you an air brush look. Kabuki brushes are dense brushes with small handle mostly used to apply powder foundations. Keep the brushes clean. Do not share your brushes with someone else. Read makeup brush guide to know more about brushes. Foundation With SPF This is a very important thing to consider when you buy a foundation. Foundation is makeup, I generally don’t like foundations which contain SPF, but then there are very few foundations which do not contain some. When your makeup contains SPF, it is likely to give some white cast even though you have chosen the closest colour/undertone. I find this issue with all the Lakme Foundtaions except Lakme Perfecting Liquid. If a foundation contain anything less than SPF 10, it is still okay to work with, but anything more than that, you just can’t escape the white cast. When you should choose a foundation with SPF? When you mostly stay outdoor, you can opt for one. But if you are out constantly for long hours, then you must put a separate sunscreen at regular intervals. If you are going to attend a party or wedding, it’s just not a good idea to use a foundation with SPF. It will only ruin your photographs. It will give you white cast. Inglot makes really awesome foundations that are without SPF. If you wanna go for a budget friendly product, Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is great deal. How to escape the white cast? How to apply foundation without white cast? Dab little powder over your foundation which does not have any SPF and also is closest to your skin tone. This should tone down the white cast to great extent. I conclude my post on foundations here. If I ever feel like I need to add few more things, I will come up with Volume 3 🙂 Take Care Enjoy your weekend. Love.

Second, the official video has been shot in India. The video shows the colours of India. The amazing locations and the energy that have been put in it, are awesome. It also features Sonam Kapoor in some shots. Beyoncé appears as ‘Maria Mata’. There are so many reasons to feel drunk n high.. what say? Love.

Did I ever tell you that I am a sucker for cute boxes, baskets & organisers? Maybe I have, here I guess. I got a bright blue coloured box which had mirror work on it. It was such a cute find. Last weekend also, I found something catchy. I was in a departmental store nearby my household, and there were lots of baskets & boxes in the Home Section. I somehow laid my eyes on this cute looking red, pink & white coloured small organiser mainly for stationary and office purposes. My eyes glowed and my lips murmured, ‘oh you are such a fit for my dresser.’ This box costs only 50 bucks. It is good quality sturdy box. Even my husband wants one for his shaving needs. It has four different compartments to hold different products of various heights. Right now am keeping the most commonly products in it, since it can hold lots of them. The very first from the top holds NYX Face Duo & Maybelline Gel Eyeliner. The second compartment has a perfect height to hold my BB and CC Creams, that are my among my everyday essentials. The third compartment is good enough to hold my commonly used brushes and mascaras. You are seeing here MUA Colored Mascara, Colorbar Colored Mascara & Maybelline The Falsies. The Last compartment can either hold two compacts or few lipsticks. So over all I am really happy with this cute little organiser, and I want more, may be in some different shapes now. Do you like such little organisers too? Comment below. Love

Love for lipstick is unspoken, hidden and eternal, that’s what I feel. That’s why girls can’t resist lipsticks. Some lipsticks are so mesmerizing that they give stomach butterflies. Feels like you first crush… huh? I am going to share two lippies from my kitty which suit your every day wear. I sometimes wonder, Indian brands are doing so good. They deliver nice products with comparable performance with that of the high brands at so much cheaper rates. You just need to lean to them and embrace them without shying of the cheap tag. Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color Put on Color Essence Mesmerizing Lip Color to look pretty in an instant. The unique coriander and basil extract with SPF-15 gives you a full coverage look with satin, smooth finish and long wear texture. After application it immediately brightens up your face. Soft, creamy texture makes application easy. Your lips will be moisturized for long time as it has staying power of minimum three hours. With good pigmentation it nourishes your lips from dryness. It has pleasant, soothing smell. Available in 32 different shades you have new color for each morning. Price Rs. 200 for 4gms. Texture & Smell These are creamy and moisturizing lipticks. I never noticed any weird smell. Pigmentation The pigmentation is average but build-able. Some colors are more pigmented than others. Like Forever Rose is more pigmented than Nude Suede. Packaging These lipsticks come in a black sleek packaging. I quite like the packaging. But you can’t make out the colour of the lipstick until you look at the bottom where the shade is mentioned. Finish They finish is little creamy. And hence these lippies transfer while you drink or eat. Staying Power Since these are creamy lipsticks they don’t stay for long. Nude Suede lasts for maximum 2 hours while Forever Rose lasts for 3-4 hours and leaves a tint behind. Shade Description Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color in Nude Suede This is a nude shade, and I just love this color. This particular lipstick contains very fine shimmer. Not much visible on lips though. Buy from here. Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color in Forever Rose This is a bright pink (my kind of pink) colour. It instantly brighten up my face even on a dull day. This lipstick is quite pigmented since it’s bright colour. Buy from here. Summary : 3.5/5 Not all shades are equally pigmented and stay on your lips, but these are quite a bargain for the price you pay. Bright colors from this range are more pigmented and stay longer than the dull colors. Choose accordingly. I have found Blue Heaven Lipsticks perform better and are cheaper. Interested in Lip Glosses? nelf USA Velvet Shine Lip Gloss Cover Girl Super Luscious Wet Lip Gloss I really like the shades. What you say? Leave your comments. Love.

I never really realised this until yesterday when I was reviewing Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Foundation, but it’s true. Most of my foundations are from Lakme, while I have never found my HG foundation in Lakme ever. That’s quite ironical I would say. One a side note, my very first foundation was from Lakme though, Lakme Perfecting Liquid, I still adore it. I am not saying that they are worthless, but I just feel they are more grey/white on me. The shade selection is quite a chore whenever I am looking into Lakme Foundations. Either they are too chalky, or too greyish, they never really go perfectly on my skin, like the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation (I am going to get a lighter shade very soon). Lakme has done great job in formulating the weightless foundation. Before this I was impressed by Revlon Color Stay Whipped Cream, which was awesome in terms of feeling weightless and giving coverage considering the fact that Revlon had never impressed me with it’s color stay range though. It always broke me out. Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is my current HG foundation, even though it’s little dark on my skin, but I would prefer to look a shade darker, than looking chalky or greyish. I am getting little curious about the new Lakme Absolute Illuminating Foundation. Let’s see how long can I hold back my temptation. Check Out My Foundation Brigade Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Foundation Maybelline Fit Me Concealer Have you found your HG foundation? Leave your comments. Love.
