My Experience With Lotus Make-Up Ecostay Kajal ‘One of the smoothest kajal I have ever used’, would be the best line to describe the texture of Lotus Make-up Ecostay Kajal. It feels velvety against waterline and lash line. The finish is powdery as opposed to the general creamy ones. But it does not flake away. It surprisingly stays glued to the eyes. I feel the texture bit powdery only when I take it off. It feels grainy. Bit weird, huh? The pigmentation, is paid off from the very first swipe. The color is jet black. I loved how beautiful Plum kajal’s have been in color and Lotus Ecostay is no lesser than them. It’s super black and super strong, like how I would love my coffee to be. Coming to the 10 hours stay claim, it’s quite subjective. I have worn it for 10 hours and more, sometimes, it stays puts, while sometimes, it gets deposited under my eyes giving me ‘panda eyes’. the longevity depends upon the humidity level. In case I am sweating, the kajal leaves a mess behind. Also it’s bit hard to take it off with just a normal cleanser or face wash. I need to use a nice makeup remover to take it off completely. This kajal comes in a pencil form which has to be sharpened to get a precise application. It needs to be sharpened before using to maintain a precise tip. Kajal lovers, here is another beautiful piece coming right your way. I got Lakme Absolute Precision Eye Artist Kajal as a free gift with Lakme Primer +Matte Lipsticks. I have been using it on and off since I am still hooked on Plum Angel Eyes Kajal. But I like it for the performance & the texture it offers. It’s black technically, but I feel it’s not pure black or jet black that you really want your kajal to be. At least on my waterline, it goes bit of grey, & let me tell you, I love it. I have loads of kajals/kohls that are jet black, so having a grey colored kajal is total fun. Actually jet black kajals can be too harsh for my skin tone sometimes, hence, going for a brown (I lost Rimmel Scandalous Eyes in Brown 🙁 )or grey is very nice option for every day look. Lakme Absolute Precision Eye Artist Kajal Lakme presents the blackest of black kajal Ebony Black in twist up retractable form which gives intense color pay off. The sharp design gives a nice hold of the pencil for precise application. The kajal goes smudge proof for long hours on your eyes. Price Rs. 750 0.35g. Buy here. Packaging It comes in an all black retractable stick form. This kind of packaging is very handy since I do not require to sharp the product every now or then which mostly results in wasting the product. There is a matte black band from where you can hold the pencil and apply it to give without any slip. The tip of the pencil does not stay in shape, but I can still manage it, since I do not wear a winged eyeliner with it. Shade – Ebony Black This is supposed to be the blackest back shade. On my hand it is the blackest black, with perfect color pay off, but somehow, my water line is not able to receive that much intensity. Good for me. It mostly looks matte grey, a dark matte grey. Nice color I tell you. Fragrance & Texture It is creamy in texture but not ultra creamy that it would break off, plus point for that. So no pressure is required to apply the kajal on my water line, or on my lash line. I hardly wear liner on my lash line since I have small deep set eyes, hence I just line my eyes with this kajal. It goes perfectly smooth every where. No irritation ever noticed. It won’t smudge on it’s own until you want it too using a smudger or something. It has quick dry formula, hence you need to be quick to smudge it intentionally. It does not have any kind of fragrance. Pigmentation It is intense in pigmentation no doubt. As you can see on my hand, it gives a nice black shade. On my water line, single swipe gives nice dark & matte grey color. 2-3 swipe intensify the color, but never wash out my wheatish complexion. Finish It sets into matte finish. This beauty can not give you shiny eyes & it’s not sorry for that. The formula is quick dry hence, sets very soon. Longevity It stays put for nice 6-7 hours, the maximum I have worn it till the day. It does not smudge as such but if rubbed with water it can come off in layers, weird huh? Likes Nice creamy texture. glides on eyes very smoothly. Nice color payoff. Does not smudge, Stays put for 6-7 hours. Does not irritate eyes. Convenient packaging. Quick dry formula gives matte finish. Dislikes Bit pricey for a kajal. Not entirely water proof. Black Ebony surprisingly does not go jet black on my water line. It rather stays dark grey, not a con for me. Summary : 4.5/5 Lakme Absolute Precision Eye Artist Kajal, offers smooth texture, quick dry formula, intense color & smudge proof long stay. It is bit pricey but worth every penny. Hope you liked the review. So, in my today’s post I will be comparing both of them to find out which one is the best quality wise, quantity wise and most importantly performance wise. Elle 18 Eye Drama Kajal in Bold Black Elle 18 Eye Drama Kajal is a simple and fuss-free twist-up basic black kajal that is a new addition to my makeup collection. These kinds of products are convenient for everyday purpose and even for occasional purposes because you only need a minute to go over both the eyes if you have practice and the eyes will be done. I have used Lakme Eyeconic, Maybelline Colossal and 1-2 other kajals of this sleek form but this one seemed to be the blackest one with amazingly smooth formula, pigmentation and staying power. It was not smudge-proof, waterproof and long-lasting. I did not take the pains to set the kajal with anything in powder form. So, at the end of the day I was left with racoon eyes. Hi, Today I am going to talk about VLCC Enchanting Eyes Kajal in Black. Frankly, I do not buy much products from VLCC due to a very bad experience that I had few years ago. I bought VLCC Fruit Facial Kit which left me with horrible cystic acne which took months to clear out. After that horrendous experience, I never really bought any skin care product from VLCC. Few weeks back, my eyes, really stuck on the kajal form VLCC. I was like, okay, it’s not a skin care product, I can try it out, since I have already tested so many kajals from other brands like Lakme, Lotus, Loreal, Maybelline, Soiul tree, Faces etc. To put it’s review here on HOG, I bought it. Let me tell you what I feel about this kajal stick, which is affordable, easily available & usable to start with. About VLCC Enchanting Eyes Kajal VLCC promises, what you expect from a decent kajal. Intense black, smudge free, water proff & dermatoligically tested formula. You can acheive your daily look with this kajal or can go winged eyeliner or smokey eyes with few strokes of this black beauty. Price Rs. 199 for 0.3g. Buy here. Ingredients Packaging It comes enclosed in an very informative packaging. The outer packaging disguises of a girl with beautiful big eyes layered with eyeshadows & flaunting bold lips. At the back of the outer packaging, multiple eye looks have been printed which could be achieved using VLCC Enchanting Eyes. Ingredient list of the kajal is also provided at the back. The kajal comes in a retractable pencil form, so it is very easy to use & I think is quite practical packaging for a kajal. The kajal pencil is black colored with black long cap on it. VLCC Enchanting Eyes is printed on the kajal pencil. Texture & Smell The texture of the kajal is very smooth, so smooth that I have to be very careful while using it to avoid any breakage. I actually broke it’s tip, the very first time I used this kajal. After that I have been very careful. The kajal tip was pointed when I bought it, but kajal sticks does not stay very pointy when you use them. I can not really draw a winged eyeliner with this, but it delivers smooth application to my water line. The kajal is devoid of any kind of smell. Pigmentation The pigmentation of the kajal is very nice. One swipe gives very good color pay off. There is practically no tugging or pressure is required to achieve heavily kohl-ed eyes. I tried smudging it to test it’s smudge proof claim. I was able to smudge it initially but on my eyes it stayed intact when I follow these steps to apply kajal. Finish The finish of the kajal is matte & intense. It provides jet black color to eyes. I also line my upper lid with this kajal & it works perfectly. I have tried to achieve the smokey eye look too with this kajal, it was okay in that department. One must be swift to achieve the smokey look with this kajal. Though it fails to deliver nice winged lines, sine it lacks a pointed tip. Longevity Whenever I know I need it too stay for an entire day, I follow proper steps to wear a kajal. Those days, the jakahl stays intact and does not go anywhere, otherwise, it stays for 4-5 hours before started getting to deposit under my eyes which intensifies my dark circles. Likes Nice creamy formula. Gives smooth application. Intense color pay off. Jet black color. Stays for long on water line. No allergies noticed. Dislike The tip does not stay pointy once used. Summary: 4.5/5 VLCC Enchanting Eyes Kajal is a decent buy as it delivers nice black colour at affordable price which stays for long hours. The creamy formula ensures smooth application. Now this is some really heavy duty kohl or kajal as you may like to call it. I received it back in my January’s Fab Bag. Since then I have been using it. Whenever I feel like putting on some kajal I reach for this kohl. SUGAR is a new brand but have always impressed me with it’s products except the Lash Mob Mascara, that was not something I would rave about. I love it’s Liquid Lipsticks and the matte ones too. Every thing is just so perfectly & insanely pigmented and lasts long. Let me tell you why I skip my HG liner for years to wear this kohl. About SUGAR Stroke Of Genius Heavy Duty Kohl This is one of the most pigmented, creamy & smooth kohl I have ever used. SUGAR really nailed it this time. It gives the perfect black colour with just one swipe. SUGAR claims the formula to be wax based & waterproof hence no tugging rubbing or smudging for long hours. Price Rs. 499. Buy here. Ingredients Iron Oxides, Black 2, Mica, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Dimethicone, Synthetic Wax, Silica, Stearyl Dimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Trimethylsiloxysilicate/Dimethiconol Crosspolymer, Octadecene, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Isoceteth-10 Packaging It comes in a matte black pencil form with a black cap covering it’s mouth. The pencil is also shipped with a black coloured sharpener (made in Germany) since it is not a retractable pencil and needs to be sharpened very often. SUGAR’s logo is printed on the pencil in white colour also the kohl’s name & shade is printed horizontally. On the sharpener also, ‘SUGAR’ is embossed. The simplest packaging of all. Texture & Smell The kohl is very creamy and smooth since it is wax based formula. It glides on my water line and eye lid way too smoothly leaving intense colour behind. It surely is a stroke of genius. There is practically no smell out of the kohl. Shade – 01 Back To Black This is one of the blackest kohl I have ever used. The blackest black that I can ever ask for. Only one swipe and I find that intense colour on my lids/waterline. I wish SUGAR comes up with more shades with this formula. Pigmentation As I have mentioned above the piece is highly pigmented. I do not need another stroke, it’s that heavenly pigmented. I have tried layering up the products many times, but it does not alter the final finish. Finish The finish of this kohl is semi matte it’s not fully matte or fully glossy, it’s something in between, works for me. In case you desire to have a complete matte finish, you can dab a black matte eye shadow over it. Longevity It does stay for 7-8 hours without any smudge. Then I take it off. I have never worn it over 7-8 hours. The formula is waterproof but it is easy to take it off with my regular face wash and water. But I prefer removing my eye makeup with little baby oil. ** I have worn this kohl here. Likes Creamy & smooth texture. One swipe gives intense colour. The blackest black shade. Intense pigmentation. Does not smudge. Stays on eyes for long. Easy to take it off. Sleek packaging. Dislikes It needs to be sharpened with every use otherwise I can not draw precise lines. The sharpening leads to wastage of product which makes it little pricey. Summary : ❤❤❤❤❤ The blackest black and smooth textured kohl. This surely makes it a must have product for me. I used to love gel eye liners, but this is more convenient if I ignore the sharpening thing. SUGAR should come up with a retractable packaging with same formula and more shades. I have deep set eyes. I generally use Maybelline Gel Liner on my water line and eye lids. But out of habit, I could not strain myself from getting L’Oreal Paris Kajal Magique in Black. Packaging Comes in a black screw in pencil with hot pink highlights. Shade Black Texture & Smell The texture of the kajal is very creamy so that it glides on eyes very smoothly without any tugging. Smell is almost non-existent. My Views Since the texture of the kajal is very creamy, it goes on eye lids very easily. The tip of the kajal is quite soft too, so it just breaks off sometimes. I mostly wear an eye cream. When I apply it after wearing an eye cream, the colour does not come as good as expected. I need to swipe the kajal pencil 3-4 times to get the intense look. I don’t know why it is claimed to be smudge proof, it does not last on my water line even for even 2 hours. I get raccoon eyes if I wear this on my water line. If I wear it alone on eye lids, the kajal still manage to get deposit under my deep set eyes somehow. The quantity of this kajal lasts really long. It does not need to be sharpened & the packaging is travel friendly. Likes Creamy texture. Pigmentation is decent and can be built to intensify the look. Sleek & attractive packaging. Affordable. Easily available. Does not irritate eyes when worn on water line. Dislikes It smudges The kajal does not last much on my water line. Sometimes, the tip breaks off while applying.
