Hi, Lip balms are something you use throughout the year. What kind of lip balms I prefer? Moisturization is the first factor that matters. Besides this, I also like to use a lip balm that is lightweight, color less and ordure less. I want my lip balm to be invisible, almost. I already have used highly moisturizing lip balms such as Pure Shea Butter from Karite Buerre , Maybelline Baby Lips, Nivea Lip Balm, VLCC Lip Balm, Matra Holistic Lip Balm in Kiwi, Himalya Clear Lip Balm and many more. No doubt the moisture level is commendable of these lip balms, but somehow, they felt bit heavy or gave too much color while some had weird taste. Anyway, I can’t stick to single product, hence I am presenting my current favorite lip balm. Biotique Bio Berry Lip Plumping Lip Balm. Biotique Bio Berry Lip Plumping Lip Balm Biotique is an old brand which brings the power of Auyrveda through it’s products directly to us. The lip balm is also a bio product. Berries are full of vitamins and phytochemicals, which this lip balm contains. The lip balm has a natural plumping action on lips and leaves lips voluptuous like bee stung. The lip balm keeps lips moisturized and refined. Price Rs. 199 for 12gm. Buy here at discounted price. Ingredients Packaging Biotique Bio Berry Plumping Lip Balm comes in a green and white themed tub packaging which is the signature packaging from Biotique. It comes in small white tub with green colored screw-in lid. Also there is an intermediate white colored plastic lid to avoid any spillage. The packaging is bit unhygienic, but you can choose to pick the roll on type pack. I make sure my hands are clean before dipping my fore finger in to the tub. Fragrance & Texture It has a very sweet smell, almost like fruit jam, since it contains Berries. It smells very delicious. Texture wise, this is a lightweight pink colored gel based lip balm. Every application requires just a swipe of the lip balm and am all set for the day. My Experience During monsoon, my lips are not that dry or chapped as they can be during harsh winter or full time summer. Lips have thin skin and they need bit of moisture. Underneath matte lipsticks, sometimes, it’s necessary to wear a lip balm, specially a clear and lightweight. Biotique Bio Berry Plumping Lip Balm is a very lightweight yet moisturizing lip balm which claims to give a plumping effect. So far, I have not experienced much of the plumping effect though. When I applied the lip balm for the very first time, I felt a bit of tingling sensation, but after that, I never had that feeling. The lip balm works perfectly underneath a matte lipstick and protects my lips from getting over dried. It does not give much color to the lips hence does not interfere with the color payoff of a lipstick. Neither does it give ultra glossy finish to my lips since it is lightweight. It’s that kind of lip balm which you would like to use before going to bed, since it does not contain SPF. During day you would rather want to go with a SPF infused lip balm. Likes Lightweight. Almost Colorless. Moisturizing. Infused with natural ingredients. Smells very delicious almost like a fruit jam. Affordable, economical and easily available. Dislikes Does not give any plumping effect to my lips. Contains no sun protection. I find Biotique Bio Berry Plumping Lip Balm a very nice lip balm being lightweight and moisturizing. It is my kind of lip balm without weird smell, taste or much color. It is affordable & economical. It also comes in a bullet. Eye Creams For Dark Circles : What Worked For Me And What Not

Dark Circles under and around eyes, can ruin a beautiful face. Dark Circles can be a permanent resident on deep set eyes, like I have. From my experience, I can say, if you have dark circles, they can never totally disappear, but they can be minimised. I have tried many eye creams some expensive, some under budget. I am going to share what worked for my under eye area which has dark circles plus some fine lines also has started showing up. Will also let you know, which ones didn’t work for me. My skin is oily but my under eye area is very dry. So rich in moisture creams can only work for me. If you are looking for natural remedies to treat your dark circles, read this. Aroma Magic Under Eye Gel Aroma Magic is a very trusted brand, and most of the products offered by this brand, are very effective. Aroma Magic under eye gel is a light gel based under eye treatment, which is suitable for dull & tired eyes. It is a gel, hence it gives soothing effect after a long day at work. This is perfect if you have mild dark circles or puffy eyes. Retails at about Rs. 135 for 20 gms. Since my under eye area is quite darkened, this gel could not give much brightening. But yeah, it definitely gave soothing effect to my eyes. Aroma Magic Almond Under Eye Cream If you have major dark circle issues, you need something heavy duty like Aroma Magic Almond Eye Cream. Almond Oil helps in reducing under eye fine lines and dark circles to great extent. But you have to be patient and consistent with the application. This also retails at Rs. 135 for 20 gms. It worked little bit on my under eye area. This could not make much difference though. It moisturised my under eye area. It felt little heavy since it contained almond oil. Jovees 24 Carat Eye Contour Gel I have not personally used it, but have read lots of reviews. Recently my sister started using this since she is also dealing with dark circles and fine lines under her eyes.It’s working for her. A unique formulation containing 24 Carat Gold leaves, precious herbs and botanical along with pure gold. Since it’s a gel, it won’t feel heavy on your eyes. It refreshes eye area. You might layer up your regular moisturiser upon this gel for extra hydration. Retails at Rs. 235. Forest Essentials Eye Cream With Anise My HG eye cream. It’s texture, efficacy & smell, every thing is so wonderful. It gave results in about 2 weeks. It also helped me with fine lines under my eyes. It brightened my under eye area. It lasts very long since you need very little amount for each application. Read the full review here. The only downside of this eye cream is it’s ever raising cost. When I first started using it, it used to come for about 15oo bucks, very costly even at that price. Now, it retails at about 2200 bucks only for a 15ml pot. Way too costly. Oriflame Optimals Seeing Is Believing Eye Cream This is an eye cream which is not as costly as Forest Essentials Eye Cream, but almost as efficient. There is only little difference between Forest Essentials Eye Cream and Oriflame Optimals Eye Cream. Oriflame Eye Cream also take care of the dark circles and fine lines but it takes some time, while Forest essentials show results withing a lesser time period. To maintain the effects, you must use an eye cream. Oriflame’s Eye Cream retails for about 500-600 bucks, but I always buy it from Amazon at discount. Juicy Chemistry Coffee & Green Tea Eye Cream Who does not want fast results? Juicy Chemistry is a herbal brand. But it’s products are exceptionally quick to deliver results. Within 4-5 days my under eye area started looking moisturized and relaxed. Within 10-15 days, it started looking brighter than before. Being affordable & natural is like bonus point. Clinique All About Eyes I have used the tinted version of this cream as well as the non tinted version. This proved to be a good eye cream, just very costly. This is quite rich in consistency and provide good hydration. Gives little brightening effect to eye and also helps with fine lines. But it costs about 2850. Forest essential is cheaper and more effective. Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector This is actually a concealer plus eye cream. You can take it as a tinted eye cream. I didn’t find much difference in my dark circle while using it. I took it more as a very costly concealer since it costs around 3250 bucks. Himalaya Under Eye Cream I have seen people raving so much about this under eye cream, but my dark circle are quite intense, this cream could not do much about them. It retails for about 165 bucks, get from Amazon.in at discount. Biotique Bio Almond Soothing & Nourishing Under Eye Cream This is quite a thick cream, I found it too thick for an eye cream. I really had to rub it vigorously to try to make it fully absorbed into the skin which it never did. It just sat under my eyes. It was helpful with the dark circles, but I just didn’t like it for it’s texture. Also it took time to show up some results. It costs about Rs. 199 but available at discount on Amazon.in. Oriflame Royal Velvet Firming Eye Contour Cream It is not actually meant for dark circles, but it is rather a firming cream. It of course didn’t do much for my dark circles, but yeah worked little bit on the fine lines under my eyes. I didn’t repurchase it, because, I stumbled upon Forest Essentials Eye Cream by the time I finished this eye cream from Oriflame. Iraa InstaRenew Multi Action Under Eye Cream This is a light weight, fast absorbing & non greasy eye cream. It works to improve under eye texture and gives a smooth look. But do not expect much improvement in the improvement of dark circles. L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Eye Cream This is the worst eye cream I ever used. I am sorry L’Oreal, but I actually had an allergic reaction from this eye cream in first few usages. I bought the Youth Code Serum & Eye Cream few months back, but both proved to be a disaster. The face serum gave me rashes while the eye cream irritated my under eye area. End Of Story. I shared my experience with some eye creams so that it could help some one. Look out for a rich in moisture eye cream if you are 25+, lack of moisture can introduce & intensify the eye area darkness & fine lines. Since my last empties post, I have been restocking stuff that are essential for my skin care. Have a look. Night Creams – The Body Shop & L’Oreal Paris: I know you will ask why so many night creams. The Body Shop Oils of Life is my current favourite. I can’t stop using it, it’s so addictive. The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream is a high in moisture cream, which suits my hubby. My sister gifted me L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Laser Night Cream, since she did not like the way it stings her. While I have used it during last winters, and I didn’t feel much sting. I might cheat on the body shop’s oils of life and use L’Oreal one some nights. I will review these night creams soon. Night Serum: I am quite loving this Vitamin C Serum from O3+. This is my second bottle. One lasted me exactly for 3 and a half months. Using a serum before a night cream, is a deadly combo. Oriflame Optimals Eye Cream : I have this habit of using a separate eye cream because, I may not use a moisturiser always. I alternate between Forest Essentials Eye Cream & Oriflame Optimals Seeing Is Believing. Biotique Bio Clove: Even though it’s winters but my hormones probably don’t know this. I still get small zits, nothing major. This clove oil based face pack comes handy. Maybelline Gel Eye Liner: My HG Black Eye Liner. I have been using it from more than 5 years. It lasts very long. Maybelline White Super Fresh Compact : I am not a regular compact wearer, but sometimes, I need one, when I just need to even out my skin tone without having to wear a foundation. Reviewed here. Today I am going to speak about one such product from Biotique, which has proved to be very effective on acne/pimples. Biotique Bio Clove Purifying Anti-Blemish Face Pack – For Oily & Acne Prone Skin: Clove is a warm, spicy herb that has been used as an effective antibiotic, anti-septic, and antiviral agent for thousand of years. This purifying anti blemish pack is blended with pure clove and wild turmeric to control pimples, absorb excess oils and other embedded impurities that can cause acne. With regular use, complexion looks clear, smooth and vibrant. Price: Rs. 199 for 75 grams.Get this on discounted price at amazon.in. Ingredients: Clove Oil, Gandhak Powder, Peppermint Oil, Geru Powder, Yashad Bhasm, Kikar Gond, Paste Base. Texture, Colour & Smell: It is a clay based white face pack, which smells of clove oil & Peppermint oil mostly. The smell is strong & herbal but not pungent. How To Use: Apply a thick layer on clean dry face and neck. Avoid eye and mouth areas. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with water or damp washcloth. Use daily or as needed. My Experience: I got this first when I was going through a very bad skin phase (acne eruptions) due to the side effects of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo. I had heard that Clove Oil is highly effective in treating acne. So I was just browsing through some clove oil based lotion/face pack when I came across this face pack from Biotique online. Since it was not much pricey as compared to La Roche-Posay, I got this after going through its online reviews. It proved to be a hidden gem. It showed a visible difference since the very first application. The zits were healed to great extent. Skin was looking clear and vibrant. Complexion was enhanced. It soaked oil from my facial glands. My skin felt smooth. I applied this face pack on the zits every night for 2-3 days and they were all gone. What else do you expect from a 2oo bucks facepack. I had not expected even this much. I was more than happy. I don’t need to slather the face pack on whole face. I just spot treat wherever required. I sometimes sleep with the face pack on the spots so that they are almost gone by the morning. Whenever there is any hormonal imbalance in my body, I get zits. But am not worried about the zits now, I have got this. Likes: Herbal. Contains the goodness of clove oil, peppermint oil and other medicinal plants. Shows visible difference from the very first application. Skin is clear & complexion is enhanced after every application. Keeps skin oil free. Affordable than those chemically laden acne treatments. Regular use keep skin problem free. Easily washable. Dislikes: None except the fact that it stings a little, but, ahh.. I.. liiike… ittt 🙂 Summary: A must have if you have problematic skin. Finally it’s here- NYX DUO

I was trying to get a hold on the newly launched NYX Sculpt & Highlight Duo, from a while. When I saw it on Nykaa last week, I ordered it immediately. I wanted to use it while getting ready for my Karva Chauth Night. But It didn’t arrive on time. Today I was just writing a new post for HighOnGloss.com, I received a call from some courier guy that he is just outside my house to deliver my Nykaa Order. I was relived that it finally arrived. Now I will have to wait till Diwali, to flaunt it. With NYX Duo, I also got 2 other products, a new mascara & a face pack. NYX Duo is a 2 in 1 product. It is designed to take care of the sculpting & highlighting needs of your face. They are launched in 3 shades in India. I got mine in Almond/Light (SHFD02). I am not really fan of Maybelline Mascaras, they clump a lot. My current L’Oreal Mascara was getting drier day by day, so I thought let’s give these falses a chance. Last but the very trustworthy is Biotique Bio Clove Face Pack. It is specially formulated for oily & acne prone skin, & I can vouch for it’s effectiveness.
