The foundation gives bit of dewy look hence is not something I would like to wear. But after using Lakme CC for ages, I thought I should give it some rest and try out something new. For me Lakme Complexion Care Cream is like a bench mark. I compare every BB/CC cream with this particular CC cream. Lakme CC Cream in Beige is like my soul mate. It’s my HG. It’s my go to makeup. In this post, I will be reviewing Nykaa SKINgenious BB Cream in 02 Soft Beige while comparing it’s texture, finish and performance with Lakme Complexion Care CC Cream in Beige. Shades: 01 Fresh Fawn, 02 Soft Beige, 03 Rich Honey , 04 Spiced Cinnamon , 05 Classic Tan Nykaa SKINgenious BB Cream Packaging The packaging of the BB cream is classy & travel friendly It comes packed in a beige colored opaque flat tube with a black cap. The tube is packed in an pink-orange ombre box which is the signature packaging of Nykaa. All the details regarding the product such as ingredients, pricing and manufacturing details are provided on the box as well as on the tube. I really love the packaging. Ingredients Shade 02 Soft Beige I am wheatish. I have yellow undertones and a warm complexion. Hence I chose Soft Beige. The BB cream has quite a lot of yellow cum orange undertones. But it does not make my face look ashy. It kinds of settles on my face easily matching my skin tone. I think, it adapts the skin color with few minutes of application. Fragrance, Texture & Consistency There is very mild sweet fragrance to the product. It is bearable and nothing overpowering. The texture of the BB Cream is very fine and creamy that it blends easily. Also it is a hydrating BB cream, so My oily skin find it little heavy, I feel sweaty after wearing it. I fee like it is suffocating my skin. It has not broken my skin though. It takes about a minute to settle and takes care of dry spots. The BB cream will suit Dry-Normal- Combination skin girls more. Finish & Coverage of Nykaa BB Cream The finish is not entirely matte. It makes skin glow little bit. You may call it ‘The Radiance’. So, your face does not look cakey even if you apply 2-3 layers of this BB cream. Coverage wise, I think it’s good. One layer evens out my skin tone, while another one covers up some tiny dark spots so that my face does not look as gross as it looks without wearing any base makeup. I was unsure how the orange undertones would fare on me, but unlike MAC foundations, they kind of disappeared without giving me orange hues. Nykaa SKINgenious BB Cream VS Lakme Complexion Care CC Cream I got my hands on Nykaa BB cream because I wanted to try out something new. I have also loved Pond’s & Garnier BB Creams for that matter but still stayed loyal to Lakme CC Cream. Because I like how it does not make me feel suffocated or it brightens my complexion. Nykaa BB Cream is not as lightweight as an oily skin girl would want her BB cream to be. And that’s one of the biggest reason that I might not use it until winters. I feel during winter, it will be good idea to use Nykaa Skingenious BB cream. If we compare the swatches of Nykaa BB Cream (Soft Beige) & Lakme CC Cream (Beige), I would say, Nykaa looks more orange-ish while Lakme CC Cream gives white cast. The shades are poles apart, however both suits my complexion very well. Charming. On a side note, I think Lakme Complexion Care CC Cream is still the best CC/BB cream in India for Oily Acne Prone Skin. Likes Hydrating & Contains SPF Evens Out skin tone Gives dew-y finish Does not give white cast Affordable Travel Friendly Nice shade range Does not break out acne prone skin Dislikes Feels bit heavy for oily skin The shade- Soft Beige is orangish and not yellow. Nykaa SKINgenious is a nice BB cream for DRY-Normal-Combination skin girls while Oily skin girls can use it during winter. It blends easily, gives nice radiant look. It covers up some dark spots as well. The BB Cream is affordable also while giving out many shades to choose from. Choose your shade well.
