Anti-ageing is the hottest selling term in the beauty industry right now. As quoted ‘the sooner the better’, it’s for every body. I thought using a nice broad spectrum sunscreen was enough, but, no you need to have a proper anti ageing regimen to flaunt flawless, youthful skin forever. Wrinkles, are considered to be the biggest sign of an ageing skin. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Range claims to reduce wrinkles instantly (with the very first application) by 49%. I happen to attend the launch event of the same and I would like to present my first thought on the range. You ready? Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Range The new age Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power range contains low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid and Patented Tri-Peptide technology which offers instant and long term wrinkle reduction. It also contains Eldelweiss plant stem cell extract along with SPF and pollution protect technology. This combination of natural extracts along with progressive science, reduces and prevents wrinkles in an effective and gentle way. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Range contains 5 products that has to be used day and night in order to achieve the results. Oriflame Novage Supreme Cleansing Gel priced, Rs. 1300 for 150ml A cleanser is the first step in any skin care routine. Oriflame introduced supreme cleansing gel to start with. It is a gel based non foaming cleanser. I feel like I am using Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser while using it. It has a mild and pleasant fragrance. The texture is very workable. I have been using it as my morning cleanser and it has been doing great. The cleanser does not leave any slippery or sticky situation behind. The packaging is attractive and sturdy. It does it’s cleansing job good and I do not expect to draw any anti ageing benefits form a cleanser as it is hardly given much time to sit on the skin. I am disappointed that no toner has been introduced in the range, cliaming that the cleanser will give you the results equivalent to using a cleanser and toner. Quite tall claims. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Serum, Rs. 2450 for 30ml Without using a toner, I move ahead to the next product that is a serum. A serum should be of light consistency but very potent to add some extra moisture to the skin while pushing in some nice nutrients. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Serum has quite a workable consistency. It’s almost-clear runny gel. It gets absorbed into the skin with some massaging action. Skin does not look oily or stretchy. I suits my oily skin very well. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Eye Cream, Rs. 1500 for 15gm An eye cream is a must for me. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Eye Cream, definitely is one of the favorite item in the list for me. It has got just the right consistency and moisture level for my eyes. It sinks into skin easily and could be worn under makeup. The eye cream comes in a tube with a pump which makes it very convenient to use and carry it along if you are travelling. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Day Cream SPF 30, Rs. 2150 for 50ml. This day cream is not thick nor ultra light weight as it contains SPF. But it does get into skin without much efforts. There is no white cast or sticky feeling. It’s bit heavy for my oily and acne prone skin. As a result I received some blocked pores. Choosing a day cream is the most tricky thing for me, specially when they contain SPF. Almost every day cream that contained some level of SPF broke me out into zits. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Day Cream too did the same thing. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Night Cream, Rs. 2150 for 50ml. A night cream is what you seal off the moisture within. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power Night Cream is quite a nice one. It has almost the same texture as the day cream but sans SPF.The night cream has a nice moisture level to offer to a dehydrated skin, but also it does not make oily skin uncomfortable. It does make face look bit shiny, but that’s quite common for most of the night creams, except when you are using a night gel. My Thoughts I think the products are good, given the price range they must deliver results. I don’t have wrinkles yet, and there is no other claim that I could comment on. I don’t see any brightening effect after applying the entire range, like I am used to noticing. I think, the night and day cream, would be more suitable for dry to normal skin. I might just go ahead with the cleanser, serum and eye cream for now. Oriflame claimed that the products has been tested to be suitable for all skin types. Sadly, after using the regimen for few days, I am left with some blocked pores and small zits on my cheeks. This range does have side effects, specially for oily skinned people. Oriflame Novage Ecollagen Wrinkle Power range seems to be something a mature dehydrated skin could use. I feel, it’s not really suitable for oily and acne prone skin. The products have too much moisture that an oily skin can take up. If you have oily skin, the cleanser, the serum, the eye cream are good, the night cream is an average, while I would suggest to completely avoid the day cream. Hello Beauties, how are you girls? Do you use age defying creams? The creams that promise to keep your skin youthful no matter how many candles you are blowing on your cake every year? I do not follow any anti ageing skin care regimen as such, but there is one such cream that has been in my household. It’s Pond’s Age Miracle Cell ReGen Day Cream SPF 15 PA++. It is considered to be among the best anti ageing day cream. This cream is highly publicized for it’s retinol benefits. I have used it on and off over the years, but this cream has been favorite of my mother, ever since, I introduced it to her. So I chose this day cream to talk about today. This is my family’s favorite, as my sister too likes to use this cream sometimes, when she is running out of Pond’s White Beauty Day Cream. So let’s jump on to the review of this day cream with SPF from Pond’s. About Pond’s Age Miracle Cell ReGen Day Cream SPF 15 PA++ Pond’s identified 6 vital bio-actives which leads to the creation of the intelligent Pro Cell Complex™ for the Pond’s Age Miracle™ range. It allows skin cells to regenerate so fast, age simply cannot catch up. Clinically Proven. Dermatologically tested. Pond’s advises to use cleanser, serum & night cream from the same range for better results. Price Rs. 599 for 50gm. Buy here at discounted price. Ingredients Packaging The day cream pot comes in a red & silver colored card box. Pond’s logo is printed over the card box with other information about the product. Inside the card box you find a semi transparent glass pot containing the cream with a shiny red colored lid in fancy shape. As you open the lid, you find the tub mouth covered with a plastic cover to avoid any spillage. Fragrance & Texture The day cream is sweetly scented, and smells quite luxurious. I feel, all the Pond’s creams smell the same way. The texture of the cream is very fine & smooth that it glides on skin beautifully. The color of the cream is has pink tint. One pea size amount covers face perfectly. But if you want to reap the benefit of the small amount of SPF that this cream contains, I advice you to apply it twice taking pea sized amount. Since the cream contains bit of SPF, the cream might give some sweating to the skins that are prone to suffocation, like mine. My mother’s aged & normal skin, does not feel any heaviness even during summer. My Experience I am going to share here 3 experiences, with 3 different types of skins. I have oily & acne prone skin, my sister has combination skin while my mother has mature & normal-dry skin type. The cream gives matte finish while satisfying the moisturizing needs of my oily skin. The cream minimizes my pore appearance giving it a smooth & brightening effect. As long I continue using this cream it keeps my skin even toned & glowing. But as soon I apply it on my skin, I feel bit of sweating. And continuous usage, gives me few blocked pores as day creams with SPF are known to do so to my skin. My sister has combination skin, so she needs bit of moisture & matte finish. It works perfectly for her. Though I do not advice her to use this as she is in her early twenties, because this cream contains a lot of powerful ingredients such as Retinol. Still, she uses it whenever she is running out of Pond’s Beauty White. it does not break her skin neither she feels any sweating with this cream. My mother who has mature skin, loves this cream. She has been using it for so many years. It gives her skin enough moisture. It minimizes the appearance of her wrinkles while smoothing her face (temporarily). The effect of minimization of pores & wrinkles is temporary on my skin & my mother’s skin, it goes away as we discontinue using this cream. But that is true with any cosmetic product. Likes Smooth & fine texture. Brightens & tones complexion. Gives matte finish. Suits every skin type except my extremely problematic skin. Small quantity is required for each application. Smells nice. Provides bit of sun protection too, in case you are not going out. No white cast like Pond’s White Beauty Day Cream. Helps to minimize pore & wrinkle appearance. Dislikes Costly. The cream needs to be used continuously to maintain the positive results. Can give blocked pores to extremely oily & acne prone skin specially during summer. Summary : 5/5 I am giving this cream full points because it actually is a great anti ageing cream. If this cream is used continuously, it really helps to take away age spots & delay appearance of wrinkles or other ageing signs. It keeps skin young & beautiful. Though It won’t help with sagging skin as much, but yes, it helps to smooth down wrinkle & pore appearance. I wish it worked for me, too, without giving any side effects (of blocked pores). To make new promises to yourself, then forcing yourself to keep them for few days of the new year and then slowly coming back to your old habits. Happens to me every year, but it’s fun. Today, I am going to write about Olay Total Effects day cream. I was always hesitant to use it. Was afraid this would be a heavy cream. This does not feel heavy at all, but it still disappointed me. Let me tell you, why. Olay Total Effects 7 In One Day Cream – Normal You want what’s best for your skin, and for your life. Total Effects offers seven beautiful results in one place, so you can be your best beautiful and your busy self. How did we do it? After extensive research, Olay identified the 7 attributes that keep skin looking young, and Total Effects’ unique vitamin complex speaks to each one of them. All in a single bottle. The look of lines, pores, wrinkles, and age spots minimized. Signs of damage reduced. Skin is left hydrated, looking firmer, healthier, more radiant, even and smooth. 1. Packaging Comes in a white opaque cylindrical packaging with black pump to dispose the product. How To Use Texture, Colour & Smell It is off white velvety smooth textured cream. The smell is powdery and very mild. My Skin Type Oily, Acne Prone & Sensitive My Views I got this during last summer, in the smallest packaging available. This cream has been advised to me by many beauticians also. So one fine day I got it. Initially I was impressed by the texture and almost non existent smell. The texture of the cream is very smooth and lightweight. It spreads nicely on skin & gets absorbed very quickly.Leaving little sheen on the skin. There is no oily residue to bother afterwords. It moisturises skin very well. One application in the morning keeps skin moisturised for all day long, given that I already have oily skin. But I think since the texture of the cream is creamy, even normal-dry skinned beauties will be happy with the moisturisation it provides. Since it was summers and my skin is already oily, I had some oil issues after wearing this for about an hour or so, nothing major. It contains SPF 15, but there is no white cast post application. SPF 15 is alright if you stay indoors, but if you have to step out of your house, you need to put a separate sunscreen. I used it for about a week happily, and then I realised I have so many blocked pores which later resulted in to pimples. The day creams that contain SPF, break me out always, so did this. It was such a disappointment. I had the same side effects after using the very famous La Roche Posay Lotion. And there, I stopped using this Olay Day Cream. Likes I like the texture of this cream. It does not feel heavy but still gives nice moisturisation. Like that the smell is almost non existent. Formulated to delay 7 signs of ageing like fine lines, dullness, dry patches, age spots, uneven texture, enlarged pores etc. Contains SPF 15. Gives no white cast. Good for Normal to dry skin. Comes with a pump. Travel friendly packaging. Dislikes Since it broke me out, all the positive things does not matter. I could not get a chance to judge it’s anti ageing effects since I could not wear it for long. Summary : 3/5 It is a great product for Normal- Dry skin beauties. Even combination skin can be benefited with the anti ageing effects of this cream. The texture and quick absorbing formula without greasy feeling make it a great day cream.
