Instead of detox drinks I call them fruit water to make them sound less technical and heavy. Detox drinks are nothing more than Vitamin & Mineral Enriched Water. Summer is the perfect season to start taking fruit drinks to maintain beauty & health from within. Most of you must be already well versed with the term – Detox Drinks or Fruit Water. If you are new to the term, stick with me, to get to know the amazing benefits of these fruity & tasty drinks.
We are all aware about the health benefits of fruits & vegetables. It’s tedious and boring to intake them as regular eatables. How about you give them a little turn and twist, so that you enjoy them more than usual while absorbing every single vital nutrition too.
Detox Drinks are very popular in western countries & now in India too, to manage weight. Detox drinks also benefit you in overall health resulting in more beautiful hair & skin. So let’s make some fruity water that would leave you wanting for more, which you can drink as much as you want.
How To Prepare A Detox Drink?
You are going to need some fruits. Slices the fruits & place them in layers over each other in an empty & clean Pitcher/Container. Fill the pitcher with water. Leave it aside for 7-8 hours to get the Vitamins & minerals fully infused into the water. Later drink it whenever you feel thirsty or feel like drinking something. Once you have consumed the water, fill the pitcher again with more water and place it for 7-8 hours. You can refill the pitcher & drink water out of the pitcher for 3-4 times, till the fruit flavor is still left in the water.
Lemon , Cucumber & Mint Water
Ingredients
One Medium Sized Lemon, One Medium Sized Cucumber, 5-7 leaves of Mint & a small piece of crushed Ginger
Benefits
Cucumber has anti-inflammatory properties while Lemon take care of the toxins in the body. Cucumber also hydrates body from within which shows in your skin. Lemon also improves immune system. Like Lime, Ginger is also high in Vitamin C and has many health benefits like controlling heart diseases, better blood circulation, controlling stress & helps to relives pain.
Mint is a refreshing herb. It gives new energy as well as increases the taste of the fruit water. It also helps to improve digestion. Helps to take care of the tired body & soothes aches.

This drink is easy to make & tastes very refreshing & citrus-y.
Apple, Cinnamon & Lemon Fruit Water
Ingredients
One medium sized Apple, 1 piece of Cinnamon, One Lemon
Benefits
Apple is full of phytonutrients & anti oxidants which protects from heart diseases, hypertension, cancer & diabetes. Cinnamon contains anti inflammatory , anti oxidants, anti bacterial , anti fungal & anti viral properties. The ingredients surely gives you immune system a powerful boost.

The taste of this drink is a good mix of sweet & sour elements. Cinnamon gives it a nice flavor too.
Pineapple & Orange Drink

One Pineapple, one Orange & one piece of crushed Ginger

Watermelon, Strawberry & Mint Water

2-3 cups of watermelon freshly cut pieces, 8-10 strawberries cut in halves, 8-10 freshly plucked mint leaves

It’s the most delicious drink if you ask me and is very sweet. Watermelon is full of anti oxidants & amino acid which give you wonderful health benefits. Watermelon hydrates body & skin, helps liver & kidneys to function well and relives muscle pain. Similarly Strawberries are full of anti oxidants & Vitamin C. Strawberries help to fight cancer & give glowing skin.
Taste
The taste is very sweet because of the presence of Watermelon & Strawberries. Mint adds little refreshment to the drink.
Strawberry, Kiwi & Mint Water
Ingredients
8-10 strawberries cut in halves, One Kiwi fruit sliced thin , 8-10 Mint Leaves.
Benefits
Antioxidant rich strawberries & mint leaves when mixed with kiwi slices, you get a tangy flavor which is very cool & refreshing with subtle hints of sweetness. Kiwi is full of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Anti Oxidants & Potassium. It helps to improve digestion & metabolism. Also helps to regulate blood pressure, stops blood clotting & improves immune system.
Taste
This drink is tangy & refreshing by taste. It’s not utterly sweet, but just has hints of sweetness.
Quick Tip
If you noticed, a piece of crushed Ginger is advised to add to the drinks. Let me explain why? I prepared few drinks last summer too. After consuming the drinks for a week, I realized I was experiencing mild pain in my lower abdominal. The drinks are cool in nature to beat the heat. Hence, sometimes, they might give such pains. Ginger helps to tone down the utter cold nature of these drinks. If you add ginger to the drinks, you won’t experience abdominal pains. Also Ginger aids in weight loss too.
