I wish .. this spring never ends & the summer never comes… oh my vivid dreams. Summer brings sweat, hot flushes & tan. Only there are few breezy evenings that can give little sighs of relief. The freshness of bath gets lost as soon as you step out of the shower. You reach out for blotting sheets every hour. But summer awaits us with it’s arms wide open. It’s coming to us.
The only thing that we can do is to be summer ready. Do not forget these very small things if you want to sail through summer with ease….
Lightweight Clothes
You might have already packed your woolens by now, since Indian Summer is already here. It’s early & will stay till late. But just packing your woolens does not make you summer ready. You need to redo your closet with summer essential clothing too.
Cotton is every body’s favorite fabric to wear during summer. It also comes in different verities plus you get a lot of options when coming to the designs. Similarly there are many more such lightweight fabrics which lets your skin breathe through. They keep your skin cool by letting air pass through it.
Sunscreen/ Sunblock
A sunblock protects you against the UVB rays of the sun, while a sunscreen is formulated to protect you against the UVA rays of the sun. But with the advancement in technology, there are many products that gives broad spectrum protection against UVA as well as UVB rays of the sun. Choose your sunscreen or sunblock wisely depending on the amount of that you spend outdoors.

Use Lightweight Skin Care & Makeup Products
Ditch those heavy moisturizers & go for lightweight skin care products that would not make your skin sweaty. If you like, you can go for water based or gel based consistencies to soothe your skin.
Do not suffocate your skin with heavy makeup. You should opt for powder based foundations/blushes if you must use one. You can use tinted sunscreen which gives you coverage as well as sun protection.
Do Not Forget Your Hair & Body
Wash your hair every other day if you are out daily. Because there are chances that your scalp gets more dirt & oil deposited
Also try to cover your skin as much as possible while you are outdoors to keep away tan. Apply sunscreen/sunblock to your body parts which are open & exposed to the sun like your hands & feet.
Be Friends With Face Mist
Face Mists can rejuvenate skin instantly. You can use them any time, any where. The face mists might be as simple as rose water or a much hyped product such as a spring water (from any brand). Face mists might seem just plain water but most of them are power packed with light moisturizers, which would give you a plumped skin instantly.
Summer Hats & Goggles
They really bring out the queen in you. Don’t you agree? I know, you can’t use a hat always & every where, but yeah a nice aviator would only enhance your personality & would add to your style statement.
Now coming to the technical factor, get a nice pair of shades with UA/UV filters to protect your precious eyes. Skin beneath & around eyes is very fragile & sun rays can really damage them beyond repair, hence protect them.
Fruits & Juices
Eat fresh & look fresh. During summer, you might not feel to eat much, but feeding on fruits & juices is really good idea. It’s just going to add to your overall health & beauty. In case you do feel like eating solid food, have some salad or few slices of fruits. Coconut water is another great way to quench your thirst if you think fruits juices are too sweet for you.
Drink As Much As you Can
Water is going to save you. Drink enough water every day. You might want to set reminders, if you are quite forgetful about drinking water (like me).
It is believed that, by the time you realize you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated. So do not let that happen. Reach out for water every now and then, keep it in front of you and within the reach of your arm so that you do not forget or feel lazy to grab it & drink it.
Relax & Rest Enough
Get enough sleep, and try to relax often. Plan your day. Always stay equipped with sun protection & water. Do not skip your breakfast. Exercising daily or almost daily is a good idea too, as it will keep your body & mind healthy.
