Ingredients
Packaging
I love the classy packaging of the compact. It’s just so retro. The compact is packaged inside of an abstract designed cardbox which is a signature packaging from SUGAR. On the packaging the name of the product, the ingredients & price of the compact are mentioned. A girl with closed eyes is also shown on the packaging.
The compact is packed in a black matte case. On the top of the black case, a big S is graphed in black & white color. At the back of the case, the product name & shade is printed.
The case contains the compact powder, a sponge applicator & a mirror. The packaging is very practical & easy to carry around. The big S is also engraved on the compact powder.
Variants
SUGAR released 3 shades of the compact, claiming to cover all the skin tones. Until I received my pack, I was thinking, it’s unfair to release only 3 shades. But now after testing it’s texture & finish, I feel, only 3 shades might be really enough to cover all the skin tones. SUGAR has mentioned 3 categories of the shades to choose your closest match:
- 01 Latte – Fair skin tones
- 02 Cappuccino – Light to Medium Wheatish skin tones (I got this shade)
- 03 Macchiato – Medium to Dark skin tones
Shade – Cappuccino
I was pretty apprehensive while choosing my shade online when Fab Bag asked me. Hoped that shade no 02 would suit me going by the shade description by SUGAR. I am glad, I chose the right shade. In the pan the shade looks very golden, while on my skin the shade goes nude, it means that this shade is my closest match. I have wheatish skin tone for your reference. It really feels like I am not wearing anything on my skin. On my fingers tips, I can only figure some pigment.
Texture & Smell
The texture of the compact is very fine & smooth. The sponge works pretty well to pick the powder and give me an even finish. As I mentioned, I don’t see any white cast or patchy powder on my skin. I do not smell anything out of the compact.
Pigmentation
I think the pigmentation is decent. It is supposed to give nude finish to skin. The compact powder is very lightweight & does not impose heavy dose of powder on skin.
Do not expect it to cover heavy discoloration or acne scars. It is a lightweight compact. I like Maybelline Superfresh Compact (a lso a cheaper option) for it’s lightweight formula. The formulation of the compact from SUGAR is somewhat comparable to that of the Maybelline Superfresh compact. The pigmentation is almost the same.
Finish
The finish of the compact is matte. I have worn it over my foundation as well as on my bare face. Both way, the formula feels very lightweight & never gives me cakey look.
Longevity
The compact is lightweight but gives nice matte finish with just one swipe. The staying power of the powder is also very good. I have worn it on my bare face for more than 5 hours 2 days back and there was no sign of oiliness. Over my foundation, the compact worked for longer hours.
Summary : 4.5/5
SUGAR As Nude As It Gets SPF Compact is a good grab. The price looks bit on higher side. It offers natural finish, light coverage, lightweight formula & some sun protection too. The finish is very real that it feels like your second skin. The packaging of the compact is very classy offering a sponge & nice mirror.
