Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour is latest launch. Nykaa decided to name the colors after the famous television characters. Loved the idea. So when you go through the shade collection, you actually visualize the character and try to impose the shade on her. At least I did. But I kind of felt bit in disagreement with few shade names and the corresponding colors. Like for this shade, Samantha,  the color should have been more a cool toned vibrant. The shade is warm red- pink while it should have been the bravest and the boldest of all, a cool toned pink maybe. Who else thinks so?

Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour

Nykaa presents 12 beautiful shades of lip and cheek colors that are named after wonderful television women. These women have always ruled our hearts with their strong presence, beauty and charisma. Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour too, plans to rule your heart with mousse-y matte texture and long lasting color.

Shades:

01 Rachel : An earthy nude shade. Suits her thin lips.

02 Carrie: Again another nude shade, since Carrie mostly carried nude lips.

03 Blaire: Straight from Gossip Girl we have a flirty mauve shade.

04 Hanna: The shade is peachy pink, and sorry, I am not sure if they meant Hanna Montana?

05 Samantha : A red-pink shade. I don’t think it suits Samantha.

06 Aria: Not a fan of Pretty Little Liars, but this is another shade of pink.

07 Miranda : We have seen Miranda wearing red, so this warm red shade definitely goes for her.

08 Monica : So is true for Monica. A lover of Reds.

09 Serena : There is quite a bitchy deep burgundy shade on her name.

10 Phoebe: I think she is hands down the most favorite girl of all and but I did not see her wearing a mauve ever.

11 Spencer : Here goes another one to Pretty Little Liars. It’s a cool toned mauve shade. Pretty vampy.

12 Charlotte : Here comes Ms Perfect, with a deep purple shade. don’t think it suits her though. A warm red is more of her shade.

Samantha, one of the boldest girl in the television history gets a warm red pink shade named after her. Maybe she is quite warm inside, wait, never really saw that on the television though. Why would Nykaa do that to her? She felt a proud in being called a narcissist. Who has got that gut?

Packaging

Nykaa Molten Matte is better than a liquid lipstick but it comes in the same packaging. You are supplied with a tube along with an applicator. The color of the tube and the outer box matches the shade of the lipstick. The box contains the features of the product but missed the ingredients list. Why?

Pigmentation & Texture

I love the texture of Molten Matte Colors. It’s hand down weightless, smooth and feels like soft cream on lips. The pigmentation is beautiful. Seriously can survive a nice meal. But I think with a price tag of Rs. 525, they should. Buy at Nykaa.

Texture wise, the formula is creamy, and it takes some time to set in to soft matte. So you can easily apply it to the cheeks. You can blend it easily with your fingers.

Finish & Longevity

The finish of Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Color is vert beautiful. No dryness, no chapping, only smooth even lips is what you get after applying a layer. You can re apply it after few hours if you wish too, but that would not ruin the finish.

I have worn it on my Birthday, for like the entire day with a few touch ups and it went really well. On a stretch, it would last for 5-6 hours without  feeling tacky.

I have not worn it on cheeks because my skin is acne prone and it could block my pores. But given the consistency, I think it would be quite easy to wear on cheeks too.

Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Color is definitely a better version of liquid lipsticks offering smooth and workable version. The shades are quite limited and feel repetitive, but some of them are quite beautiful. Samantha is a warm pink which will suit all the Indian skin tones including fair, medium and dusky. With a price of Rs. 525, the colors offer good stay on lips.

 

I hope you liked my review. I like the texture, but I think shade wise, the range does not have much to offer, so I am not sure if I would buy another shade form the range. Let me know what you think about the range.
