Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gradation Pink 2 : Swatches & Review

I had never heard about Maybelline Lip Gradation until my Sister In Law introduced it to me. The name of the product is quite interesting- Lip Gradation. When I first heard it I thought it is a product to achieve gradient lips. But I was disappointed. I could not achieve anything like that with this product. It is a simple moisturising yet matte lipstick. Stay with me for complete review.

I got Pink 2. This is a beautiful true pink. Suitable for everyday wear. Will suit every complexion.

Packaging

Every lip gradation comes in a colour coded tube. Like Pink 2 comes in a Pink dual ended screw-in long tube. One end contains the coloured thin bullet while the other end contains a smudger. The coloured bullet is so pointy that you can line your lips with it. The smudger is used to smoothen the colour on lips to achieve completely matte finish. I by the way did not find much difference in the finish while using a smudger and while not using one.

Texture & Smell

The texture of the lip gradation is very creamy, buttery and moisturising. It glides on lips smoothly. Giving the perfect colour in single swipe. No lip balm is required. Even though the lip gradation gives matte finish, it does not dry out lips or accentuate fine lines on lips. This shows a quality product. There is no smell/fragrance.

Pigmentation

The lip gradation is highly pigmented. Single swipe gives enough colour to lips. I can swipe multiple times without feeling heavy. When the colour completely goes off my lips are still left with a deep red tint, which shows the intensity of pigmentation. Even though it is highly pigmented, I did not find any trouble while removing it like Maybelline Super Stay Lipstick.

Longevity

The colour stays for almost 4-5 hours on my lips while surviving little meals and sips. It wears off leaving a redish pink tint, which is desirable. I don’t mind it.

Dislikes

• Smudger is almost useless. I do not understand why it’s even provided.
