A primer is mostly overlooked but it is an integral part of your vanity. I never realised the power of a primer before using one. When Sephora was launched in Select City Walk, Saket, Delhi, I made my visit to the mall. I also visited Inglot to get a foundation. I remember getting an Inglot primer for the first time. And I realised what I was missing on. Later, I used NYX & Colorbar primers too. I feel all the primers I have used till date are quite decent. To try something new, I recently laid my hands on Lotus Ecostay Insta Perfecting Primer. Let’s talk about it in detail.
About Lotus Make-Up ECOSTAY Insta Smooth Perfecting Primer
This is a Mattifying & Oil-Free primer. It is meant for all skin types. The brand claims that the primer smooth-ens the fine lines, combats excess dryness, reduces the appearance of large pores and instantly prepares skin for further makeup application so that the makeup stay put for longer hours and gives a satin smooth finish. The primer also contains Vitamin E among other ingredients, which is an anti oxidant helping fight the signs of ageing and protecting skin from sun damage. The primer is 100% vegetarian.

How To Use
The primer can be worn alone or beneath any makeup. Take out pea size product and dot over your face blending gently.
Packaging
It comes in a light mauve coloured carton and a transparent tube with mauve-silver coloured screw-in cap. The transparent tube contain all the information about the product.
My Skin Type
I have oily, acne prone and sensitive skin with open pores on my cheeks. During winter, the pores do not show much but are quite prominent during summer.
My Experience
A primer is basically a silicon based formula which creates a thin layer on your skin. The silicons give a satin smooth feeling to your skin by filling into any fine lines or pores. The primer also acts as a barrier between your skin and makeup so that the chemicals in your makeup does not hurt your skin.
I hope you get an idea why primers are so important before layering on your foundation. I prefer a lightweight formula which gives matte finish and does not interfere with my foundation application. Lotus Ecostay Insta Perfecting Primer is such a primer. The primer delivers everything it claims. It smooth-ens skin, minimises pore appearance while providing a base for further makeup application. My foundation goes really smoothly after wearing this primer. My face actually feel very slippery for initial minitues. Later the slippery felling goes away.
My makeup definitely stays put for longer hours as compared to the time when I do not wear this primer beneath my foundation. Also the final finish comes little glowy rather than completely flat matte.

Lotus Make-Up ECOSTAY Insta Smooth Perfecting Primer comes out to be a winner. The formula is lightweight & oil free. It minimizes pore appearance giving out a smooth canvas for your foundation to go flawlessly.
If I compare it with the other primers that I have used in the past, then I would say, it has comparable performance to Inglot & Colorbar primers. The upcoming summer is the right time to test this primer as that’s the time when my face becomes an oil factory. Will update you guys after few months.
