Being one such person, precisely, an owner of undernourished, frizzy and wavy mane the shampoo and conditioner of this range have always helped me when my hair is at its worse. That’s why I decided to try the Smoothening and Repairing Serum from the same line. To my surprise, this serum was on huge discount that particular day on a web-store! Without losing a minute, I placed my order. After using it for a month, today I am going to share my experience of L’Oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Smoothening and Repairing Serum for Unmanageable Damaged Hair to you. How To Use
For best results use on towel dried, damp hair:
1. Take a few drops of the serum onto the palms of your hand. The amount of serum depends on the length of your hair.
2. Rub hands together and distribute evenly along the lengths of your hair, paying particular attention to the ends.
3. Close the cap to preserve product quality.
Can be used on completely dry hair prior to combing for frizz-control and smoothening. Do not rinse. Leave in.
Packaging
The serum comes in a plastic bottle with flip-open cap. The bottle is off-white and its cap is vibrant red. All the products of L’Oreal Paris Total Repair 5 range is colour coded in off-white and red, so this serum looks like a perfect match to the rest of the collection containing a shampoo, a conditioner and a deep conditioning mask. The cap locks with a sharp click and prevents the product inside from spilling. The bottle has a cardboard outer pack which again is colour coded in similar manner. The outer box contains claims, shelf life, elaborate usage instructions etc. The instructions are presented in both written and pictorial format for everyone’s convenience. Overall I find the packaging to be very travel-friendly, leakage-proof and sturdy.
Colour, Texture & Smell
The serum is basically a colourless and runny liquid. Though it is oil, its consistency is light and non-greasy. It has a very faint floral fragrance. The base note of the scent is similar to other products of the same range. The smell is very short-staying and it goes off within few minutes of application.
My Views
This hair serum can be applied in two ways; on damp hair and on completely dry hair. I like the first way more so, I apply it after my shampoo-conditioner routine on the day I wash my hair. It is very crucial to decide the correct amount for your hair otherwise the hair may feel limp (if used in excess) or unruly (if used less). When the hair dries completely there are noticeable shine on my hair. Due to the wavy texture, I tend to get tangles very easily. With this on my hair; the tangles are a bit easy to remove. That means less breakage. What I like most about this product is that, the dry and rough ends of my hair look healthier than they actually are if I am using this. But ‘the split ends getting united’ claim is not true. This serum has been able to control my unmanageable frizzy hair to certain extent which is a huge pro for me.
