As winter come, you shove your Sarees deep inside your closet. Saree is hardly seen as a part of winter fashion. It could be because of many reasons. It attracts a lot of effort to get the pleats and drape right. You need the right kind of inner clothes for the saree to feel comfortable during chilly days. You also need to make sure that you pick right fabric and design. So it is kind of a lot of work and you might pick your cardigan and an overcoat instead of picking a saree to dress up for the day.
Today I will be showing how I styled a Super Net Saree from Unnati Silks that I wore on a chilly afternoon last weekend. This Saree is very sheer, lightweight and bright in color. It was bit of tricky to style it because there was no distinctive pallu with the saree. Before we move on to the styling part, let’s talk about Unnati Silks first.
Unnati Silks – Handloom Sarees
Unnati Silks is a saga of handlooms for women that began in 1980. An experience of three decades plus in silk and cotton textiles Unnati has carved out a niche presence for itself in being the manufacturer, wholesaler, retailer and exporter of genuine silk cotton handlooms like sarees, salwar suits, kurtas, kurtis and other Indian ethnic fabrics. This has thereby created for it, a sizable domestic market from across the country and overseas.
What is a Supernet Saree?
Supernet Sarees are a blend of silk and cotton in different proportions. Their fine transparent weave, attractive designs and beautiful borders, give the women who wear them, a captivating look. Bewitching block prints of geometrical shapes and batik floral designs beautify the Supernet saree. Hand made designs and the use of fabric paints are also used as an adorning feature for the Supernet to make it look very appealing.
How To Style A Saree In Winter Like A #GirlBoss?
First thing that you notice about a #GirlBoss is her confidence. The synonym to #GilrBoss is her Confidence. She knows what she wants, loves the way she looks, knows how to pull any look and wears her style effortlessly.
Moving on to the Saree part, during Spring or Summer, I would pair a printed saree with a designer blouse or crop top. But during winter, it’s important to make sure that I am cold proof first. You have many options to keep the cold away. You can opt for warm blouse or a jacket to go over the saree. Here I am going with a blouse that offers maximum protection against cold. It is warm yet very stylish and versatile top from Stalk Buy Love.
Just wearing a warm blouse is not enough. So I also wore warm leggings under my underskirt. That’s no secret right. Even if I wear a skirt or lehenga during winter, I cannot ditch a pair of warm leggings. Otherwise my legs start shivering.
Boots With A Saree?
Why not? Boots add an extra oomph factor be it any attire. I chose to wear them along with this super net Saree too. These high heeled black boots coordinated with my black top. Anyway a saree is better worn with high heels.
Accessories
Coming to the accessories, I only wore a watch because, I did not feel I needed anything else. I wanted to keep it classy and not turn it into chic. That’s how a #GirlBoss like it.
Why I Didn’t opt For A Jacket Over The Saree?
There are many ways you can style your Saree using a Jacket. But I somehow don’t like to overshadow a Saree with a Jacket. A jacket definitely steals some of the charm of the Saree worn inside. Hence I opted for warm blouse and leggings beneath the saree instead of throwing a jacket over it.
Hope you liked the look. I did not wear the Saree in any different way, but using the right style items, I turned it into glam. How much do you like to wear a Saree during winter? Or do you too think it’s a Summer affair?
