Flame Test To Make Sure You Are Using Safe Baby Wipes For Your Baby

It is of utmost importance to use safe baby products. Including wet wipes for your baby’s skin. A baby’s skin is fragile and highly sensitive. The safest that you could use on your baby’s skin is water & cotton to clean her. Other things might give her rashes or even bad allergies. The toxic materials used to make baby wipes are highly dangerous for your baby’s skin, specially when you are using a baby wipe several times a day, every day.

Flame Test Result

Coming to the flame test, this simple home test will leave you surprised that how most of the wet wipes fail this test while they claim to be safe on your baby’s skin. Every parent must test baby products before using them on their babies. To test a baby wipe, Flame Test is the quickest and effective.

You will need a candle, a matchstick to light up the candle and a wet wipe that you want to test. Just lit the candle and burn the wet wipe from one end  using this candle. You will notice :

1. Some baby wipes leave sluggish residue after this test. Leave behind sticky and unexplained residue like you have just burned down a film of plastic. It explains that these wipes are made of plastic and other toxic materials.
2. Cotton based wet wipe will burn easily leaving black residue like you burn a real cotton fabric. The safest to be used on a baby’s skin.

My Observation After The Flame Test

Most of the wipes that I tested failed this flame test test miserably. But when I burned a wipe from Mother Sparsh wet wipes, I was happy to see that this wipe burned as if I was burning a cotton fabric. There was no sticky residue or burnt plastic like smell out of the wipe. Mother Sparsh  98% Water Based Baby Wipes are the safest on a baby’s skin as they are really made from cotton & water. I can say Mother Sparsh Wet Wipes are as good as cotton and water.

Do not pick anything for your baby, test it before using it on your baby’s skin. The wet wipes that you use daily on your baby’s skin can have very bad effects if they are not safe. Keep your baby safe & happy as you promised.
