Healthy, lustrous & silky hair, one of the ultimate dreams of every girl. I am not that demanding though, and I would settle for just healthy hair & scalp. I feel shampoo, conditioner & hair serums are superficial. I do not expect much from them. Healthy hair & skin depends upon your eating habits & lifestyle. Brands come out with new hair care ranges every now and then claiming to be more close to nature. Garnier Ultra Blends is also a recently launched range which claims to be parabene free and claims to contain more natural ingredients to deliver much satisfactory results. I have been using Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Intense Repair Shampoo & Conditioner from quite a while. Let me share what I feel about this range.

Garnier claims that this Ultra Blends range is free of parabenes while composed of natural ingredients that are carefully selected to deliver the much needed nourishment to hair. This particular Soy Milk & Almonds formula is for the damaged hair to repair them and strengthen them from roots by providing them hair protein from Soy Milk & almonds which are high in protein content. Finally your hair are repaired & restored. Hair feels soft & managed with every wash.

Packaging

This range of Garnier hair care claims to be close to nature hence the packaging is soothing and depicts of natural ingredients like almonds & soy milk. The combo comes in white opaque bottles with golden coloured flip top cap. There is an embossing of a leaf at the opening of the flip top cap which is common among all the hair shampoos & conditioners from the same Ultra Blends range. The packaging is sturdy, attractive & travel friendly. The only difference in the packaging of the shampoo and the conditioner is that they disperse product from opposite directons which is a conventional packaging of any shampoo and conditioner from any range/brand.

Colour, Texture & Smell

The shampoo & conditioner both are runny white liquids where the shampoo is more runny than the conditioner because it is little thicker than the shampoo for the obvious reasons. The shampoo is more like a lotion while the conditioner is creamy in consistency. Both the shampoo & the conditioner smell the same, mild & pleasant.

My Experience

Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Intense Repair Shampoo

The shampoo is supposed to be containing Soy Milk & Almonds which makes it very moisturising & creamy. The shampoo lathers well and effectively cleanses my scalp. It gets rid of dirt, sweat & oil in just one wash. It also washes away easily leaving my scalp feeling clean. I never felt any itchiness or allergy after using this shampoo. My hair ends feel soft while am still under shower. I actually feel like not using anything else because they feel quite moisturised.

I like the runny consistency of this shampoo because it’s easy to lather and apply onto my hair while I face trouble with Organix Keratin Shampoo which is thick like a conditioner. Also takes little time to lather.

I would say that I could not see any difference in my hair’s quality over a time period of 3 months. It’s just a shampoo and can only give an effective cleansing.

Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Intense Repair Conditioner

After using the Shampoo, I squeeze my hair to get rid of the excess water. Then I take some conditioner and apply it from the mid lengths of my hair till the hair ends. Then I carry on with my bath. After 5 minutes or so, I rinse my hair with cold water to take out the conditioner. I air dry my hair.

Honestly I am not much pleased with the conditioner since it’s not that creamy that it can moisturize my hair ends well. It is good for fine hair, but my thick & dry hair needs extra care. I also need to use a lot of this conditioner to get decent results. I can get much better results when I combine the shampoo from the same range with any other creamy conditioner/ mask.

• The combo did not deliver much in terms of damage repair.

Summary

I would recommend the Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Intense Repair Shampoo for all hair types for effective yet gentle cleansing, but the conditioner can be skipped. The combo is affordable though & is free of parabenes too.
