End Of Season : Mini Shopping Haul

Winter is bidding goodbye and Spring is ready to take you on by full swing. Even though we love spring but it’s not easy to let go winter. Oh winter, the cold wave, foggy mornings, cozy blankets, endless rounds of hot coffee and bright colors in my wardrobe…. how can I let you go so easily. Winter is like a luxury in India. The season comes after a long wait and it’s over with a blink of eye.

I know spring is much awaited season too. I too love it. Who does not like blooming flowers & sunnies. But before I welcome spring, I give a warm hug to winter. What could be warmer than a shopping spree? After restricting myself to shop only for essentials, I finally celebrated the end of season. Here is what I picked.

Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Reflecting Serum

Skin Gloss range from Lakme is vert much appreciated. I have not used any item from the range yet, so finally grabbed a serum because they are less likely to show side effects than a full impact day or night cream. I remember using the Lakme Perfect Radiance Serum about 4 years ago when they were launched from the brand for the very first time. The serum had nice effect in terms of taking away my dark spots but definitely left me with some blocked pores. Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Serum is a new a lunch from Lakme in the same range. The serum goes very nicely over my oily skin giving it matte finish and gets it ready for base makeup. I am just worried it too might leave some bumps behind. I shall test it for few days before coming up for a detailed review. Retails at Rs. 975 for 30ml. Buy here.

Mantra Lush Lips Strawberry Lip Balm

I have been seeing this brand a lot online and offline. I got strawberry flavored lip balm from the brand just after trying out it’s conditioner & face wash whose samples I received last month. This lip balm is a clear lip balm. It smells very exotic. It does not taste weird. It moisturizes lips nicely. The ingredients list contains Organic Bees Wax,  Kokkum Butter, Coconut Oil and other such impressive natural contents. The packaging of the lip balm says you need to apply every 2 hours, which I think totally defeats the purpose of wearing a  lip balm containing natural moisture agents. A lip balm should be potent enough to protect lips throughout the day after applying it once or twice at max. It’s not a God damn lipstick which are superficial in terms of providing moisture. It’s a good lip balm for the current season though. Costs about 299 for 8g.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24HR Stay Foundation Radiant Beige 150

Even after trying out Estee Lauder Long Stay Double Wear Foundation, I see L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24HR Stay Foundation as a very impressive foundation at just half the price of the former. I have used Golden Beige shade of the foundation before. Which I found to be bit grey-ish on my skin tone because I got it online after assuming that Golden Beige is for wheatish skin. But in reality, Golden Beige has pink tones too. Sometimes, I look bit grey in after wearing the foundation.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24HR Stay Foundation Radiant Beige 150 is bit lower in the grayness. It has yellow undertones but the pigments are bit dull as compared to Golden Beige 140. Radiant Beige 150 suits medium skin tones. I believe it will be more closer to my wheatish skin tone. I have not worn it yet but will update you with the results. Buy it here.

LA Girl HD Pro Conceal Orange

Maybelline Master Strobe Stick Illuminating Highlighter in Pink 02

Strobing is nothing new. Almost every brand has strobe creams/ lotions/ powder/ sticks. Maybelline too recently launched Strobe stick under FaceStudio. I got Maybelline Master Strobe Stick Pink 02. It has less of pinks but a lot of shimmer. I really liked the pigmentation and the consistency of the stick. It’s no fuss packaging also make it travel friendly and easy to use. You can control the amount of the highlighter to go on your face. For day time, swipe it once across your cheek bones and other areas that need to be highlighted. During night you can use more swipes. Costs about 700 bucks. Buy it here.

Mayeblline The Falsies Push Up Drama Washable Mascara

I hate water proof mascara. Maybe I am too naive to take one off. Can’t stand loosing my precious lashes. I know there are special eye makeup removers for water proof makeup but I generally avoid putting too much chemicals on my already dark eye lids. They are very sensitive and can show an allergic reaction the very instant.

Mayeblline The Falsies Push Up Drama is one bad ass mascara that has been getting lot of appreciation across the beauty globe. I have tried it once only and I feel It definite has some charm. It kind of pushes up the lashes in a curvy motion. If your lashes are poker straight, this mascara can really help you giving them a push. The washable version sells at 550 while the waterproof one retails at Rs. 600. Buy it here.

Glitter Eyeshadow

Getting an all glitter eye shadow is always on my wish list. I have numerous of them. But whenever I come across one, I never let it go. Recently came across this very beautiful eye shadow palette which contained all the metallic shades with loads of glitter, I swiped right.

The pigmentation is to die for. I just can’t wait to wear the shades on a happening night. The packaging is all gold and very beautiful. Inside the palette you get 9 shades a mirror and a two sided sponge brush. For the price we pay, it’s totally worth it. Buy it here.

I also got a makeup box from Maybelline which was a free gift from the store I shopped from. It’s a lovely light pink box with a lot of space to carry makeup/travel essentials. Totally girly thing.

 

I really enjoyed this end of season shopping. This feeling was exactly like eating after a fast.Very satisfying. And now it’s time to shop for the spring. Spring too needs a warm welcome, doesn’t it ?
