Cetaphil moisturizers are one of the most raved about moisturizers. Since there are so many variants of Cetaphil moisturizers, which one is the best for combination skin. Today I am going to review two of my all-time favourite moisturisers, Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion & Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion.
It was not just oily-combination skin issues for me, my skin had to suffer the worst of PCOD. Though I have made the mistake of using stripping face cleansers, the moisturiser has always been my friend. I heard quite rave reviews about non-comedogenic moisturisers from Cetaphil so I wanted to try my hands on it. Ever since I swapped my regular moisturiser with Cetaphil, there’s no turning back. I have tried all the variants from them and here’s what I have to say about Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion & Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion.

Ingredients
Packaging
Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion– This lotion comes in a white colour plastic bottle with a light green flip-top cap. The container is completely opaque but has an additional screw open system as well. When the product reaches the bottom, I open the screw lid to scoop up the product using a spatula. This way, no product gets wasted. The packaging is sturdy and travel-safe. It is available in two sizes; 100ml and 250ml. I bought the smaller one.
Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion– The Ultra Hydrating Lotion comes in a white coloured shiny plastic tube with a light green screw cap. Cetaphil uses the white body and a green cap theme for all their moisturizers. This is a thicker lotion so it is packaged in a squeeze tube. This is a simplistic, spill-proof and hygienic packaging style. You can easily put the small tube in your travel-pouch.
Fragrance & Texture
Both the moisturisers are white in colour as they are free from artificial colourants. But their consistency varies drastically. Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion is a fluid texture lotion while Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion is a thick moisturising cream.
Though DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion is thicker in the formula, it gets absorbed into the skin giving moisture-matte finish. The Moisturising Lotion, on the other hand, looks lighter on the swatch but gives deep nourishment.
Both contain Cetearyl alcohol and macadamia nut oil for skin nourishment. Though there is alcohol in its name, Cetearyl alcohol is an excellent non-comedogenic moisturiser for all skin types.
All Cetaphil moisturisers are fragrance-free.
My Take on Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion & Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion
Though we are living in an era of abundance in skincare, I like to keep my skincare as minimal as possible. My troublesome combination skin likes a simple face cleanser, a hydrating toner and a basic moisturiser far better than all those essences, ampoules and serums.
I am glad to say, Cetaphil moisturisers fit my bill perfectly. I am into ingredient-based skincare these days and I use Cetaphil moisturizers as the source of Cetearyl alcohol. Both Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion & Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion are oil-free.
They do not feel greasy or oily. I used to get small bumps of clogged pores from heavy moisturizers. My skin hasn’t seen them in a while due to the Cetaphil moisturisers. I always use moisturisers on slightly damp skin. This encourages better absorption of nutrients from skincare products and also keeps the skin nourished for long.
Less is more with Cetaphil moisturisers. For my face and neck, a small pea-size amount feels enough. I use a salicylic acid-based daily exfoliating cleanser for acne. It helps in unclogging pores but leaves skin dry. Cetaphil moisturisers add the perfect amount of instant nourishment to the skin solving this dryness issue.
I keep both variants of Cetaphil handy but use the thicker formula of Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion in winter or dry weather. As for Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion, it is my daily staple skincare item all around the year.
Some Hacks Using Cetaphil Moisturizers:
I tend to get the most out of my skincare products. These intense moisturizing lotions could be used in some more ways.
DIY BB Cream
I love DIY BB cream and Cetaphil moisturizers are great to get the right consistency.
DIY Cream Blush
Similarly, I use a little bit of lipstick with Cetaphil moisturizer and create my desired blush.
Makeup Remover
I use Cetaphil moisturizer to remove my makeup and specifically to remove waterproof mascara. I apply a little bit of this moisturizer over my eyelids, leave it for a few minutes and then wipe it away with a wet cotton pad. This way I am gentle on my eyes and lashes.
Sleep Over Mask For Dry Spots
During winter my combination skin generally suffers from dry spots. I apply a thick layer of Cetaphil moisturizer and sleep on it. The next morning, the dry spots are gone. Cetaphil Cleanser too gives a similar result.
Good Things

Summary- 5/5
