Still looking for Diwali gift which is unique & eco friendly? I think you have searched enough and finally reached at the right place- Bouteilles Up… my love.
Bouteilles Up is a unique way to show that you care for your loved ones and for the environment too. Because all the products from Bouteilles Up are made by upcycling glass bottles. sounds Interesting? Forum Gandhi, who is just 25 and a former DNA reporter, is the face behind the brand. She started this as her hobby and now she is the proud owner of this innovative product range.
She makes juice glasses, planters, tea lamps, long lamps, chalk bottles, upside down cups, candle stands etc out of unused glass bottles which can not be recycled. She up-cycles such bottles & come up with beautiful, quirky and unique items. Let’s get to know the interesting story behind this brand in Forum’s own words, UNCUT :
“I am the founder of Bouteilles Up. Bouteilles Up started with just one bottle; it just happened. I love collecting glass bottles. In my shoerack, I had over 40 glass bottles and just three pairs of shoes. I am a former crime reporter with DNA. During my internship stint at DNA, I wanted to gift my seniors for teaching me about journalism.
It was about Christmas and my mom wanted me to clean up my stuff. I thought why not do something with the glass bottles instead of throwing them. I researched a little and got seven fairy lamp bottles made. Before Christmas they set it up on their cubicles. My editor called me in her cabin and asked me to make two more for her. She said only if I charged her would she buy it. I said I couldn’t she refused and paid me the money. By the time my internship was over, I got 20 orders. Before Christmas, there was a night flea market in my lane. I made only 14 bottle lamps as I had a spasm in my hand. By 7 pm I set up my stall and by 9:30pm I was out of stock. Later in Jan I participated in an MBA festival (I am not an MBA student) and won four awards. One of them was for being a Smart Entrepreneur for Bouteilles Up’s concept and innovation. The cash price boosted my hopes on the brand.
Today I have 13 products and have successfully been a part of over 20 college events and big exhibitions. I have also successfully fulfilled over 7 bulk orders single handedly. I solely manage the designing, marketing, promoting, sales and graphic work.
Each product by Bouteilles Up is made out of sterelised glass bottles. Each part of the glass bottle is used to make a product. Not one part of the glass bottle goes waste. I am not only the sole proprietor but I also handle the product designing, marketing, planning, graphic designing etc.
I feel, these products are perfect for Diwali. The products are not only quirky and innovative but eco friendly too. While Diwali is the festival of lights we seldom think of gifting people something that can illuminate abodes.
Isn’t it always different to give a gift that Illuminate Abodes than to give sweets that people forget among the others.
Hence, our brand Moto is Upcycle. Be Different. B U“
