Using a menstrual cup the right way is very important. You need to be relaxed before inserting the menstrual cup. If you are using a menstrual cup for the first time, you might need to make few attempts to insert it correctly. Do not attempt to insert it during nonperiod days, because your cervix may be in a different position while you are menstruating which makes a favorable environment for a comfortable fit of the menstrual cup.
Follow These steps to insert the Everteen menstrual cup during the menstrual period.
- Wash your hands properly. Wash Everteen Menstrual Cup with Everteen Natural Intimate Wash properly. You can also boil the menstrual cup if you want too, though it is not required.
- Wash the exterior of your vaginal area with Everteen Natural Intimate Wash. Never wash your vaginal area with soap or detergent as it could cause vaginal imperfections or a pH imbalance.
- Sit in a relaxed squatting position. Try not to tense your pelvic muscles.
- Fold your menstrual cup by punching down the opening of the cup and hold it in one hand with the open mouth facing the vaginal opening. On the other hand, spread the folds of your skin and find the vaginal opening.
- Push the cup in at about 45 degrees angle towards your public bone. Now release the cup such that the fold of the cup pops open.
- Make sure that the cup is fully open. You may hear or feel a “pop” when it is opened.
- Continue to push the cup until it is comfortable.
How To Remove Everteen Menstrual Cup?
It’s actually easier to remove than inserting it. Follow these steps.
- Wash your hands with soap and warm water.
- Sit in a squat position, which will make it easier to remove the cup.
- Exert downward pressure with your pelvic muscle as during delivery to push the menstrual cup travel down outward.
- Continue exerting downward pressure until you can reach the stem of the cup with your fingers.
- By holding the stem, just wiggle the cup till you get a better grip on the actual base of a cup. Do not pull the stem to remove your cup as it can increase the suction seal or cause the stem of the cup to break. Use the stem only to wiggle the cup until you get a grip of the cup on the base of the cup to remove it.
- Once you have a firm hold on the base of the cup, gently squeeze it out to break the vacuum caused due to suction.
- Slowly pull down one side of the cup out and then tilt it slightly to release it out to creak the vacuum caused due to suction.
- Slowly pull one side down of the one cup out and then tilt it slightly to release the other side. The menstrual cup will come out.
- Empty the contents out into the toilet. Wash your menstrual cup with the Everteen Natural Intimate Wash and warm water. Rinse it thoroughly before reusing it.
- After you are done with the menstrual cup, store it in its original packaging.
