AHAglow Face Wash is a cure that I had been searching for so long. Even though I have been very consistent with Cheryl’s face wash, something was definitely missing. My pores are not as clean, as I would want them to be. My pores look large and horrible. Specially during summer, my pores look like pot holes. I had tried AHAglow few years back, and here I tried it again and here is my experience.
AHAGlow Claims:
- Rejuvenates the skin by encouraging the shedding of old and dead skin.
- Reduces the number of superficial wrinkles.
- Improves skin texture & skin tone.
- Unblocks & cleanses the pores.
Price
Rs. 389 for 100 g.
Ingredients
Aloe Vera, Glycolic Acid, Vitamin E, Gel Base & Colour.
Packaging
Comes in an attractive yellow packaging with flip top. The packaging is really bright so it looks good. There is coloured abstract graphics on the packaging above which AhaGlow is printed. The tube is sturdy and travel friendly. The small coloured beads inside the face wash are also visible from outside and look really catchy.
Colour, Texture & Smell
It’s clear gel with coloured soft beads that are meant to be crushed before application. Smells nice too. The gel based texture is non sticky.
How To Use
Squeeze out some product on palm, crush the soft mini-capsules (the coloured beads) & try to lather it (try because it does not lather much). Apply on face. Massage little bit & rinse.
Availability
Available at pharmacies. Also have seen it at some online stores.
My Skin Type
Oily, Acne Prone & Sensitive.
My Experience
The story started some 3 years ago, when I bought AHAGlow for the very first time. Then it used to come in pink & grey packaging. I used it for 2-3 days and it gave me rashes. Guess my skin reacted badly to the glycolic acid. I threw it the same day.
Last month, when I visited a nearby pharmacy to get Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion (I am a fan), I saw AHAGlow in new packaging. It really attracted me. I bought it again, this time hesitantly. And I am glad, I did.
Coming to the product, I take the product on my palm and try to crush the beads as they are little slippery. I don’t know what is the purpose of these beads if they are not for scrubbing. Maybe glycolic acid is released into the gel as you crush the beads (just a guess). Since it does not lather much, I just massage it bit and then rinse. Face does not feel stretchy as opposed to the foaming face washes.
Sometimes I find 2-3 flakes of dead skin, nothing major. It does what it claims, exfoliates on its own. How cool is that?
